On Sundays, there are a lot of ramen options for lunch, so today I decided to try something different and went for Indian cuisine. I ordered the chicken curry set from the daily lunch specials. The set came with a large piece of naan bread and the chicken curry had a gentle sweetness from the vegetables and a rich flavor. The combination was excellent and delicious. The lunch set also included a drink (lassi) making it a great value for the price!

The north exit of Ogikubo Station has a concentration of restaurants, but as you get closer to the Koshu Highway, the density decreases. This curry restaurant is located where there are fewer shops. They offer dinner sets as well, and when you go down the stairs and enter the restaurant, most of the seats are taken. There are two foreigners at the counter enjoying snacks and beer, a family of four having a regular dinner, three high school girls chatting happily, and a solo male customer ordering cheese naan as an extra. I ordered the spinach and chicken curry set for 910 yen with medium spiciness and a mango lassi drink. The meat was chicken, but you can change it to lamb. While waiting, I observed the interior of the restaurant. J-pop music was playing on the TV. There were no Indian decorations or posters, just brown furniture. It felt more like a family restaurant than an Indian eatery. The food arrived in about 10 minutes. The large naan caught my eye first. The sag curry was slightly dark, and the drink was served. The salad dressing was not the usual bright orange, maybe sesame dressing? The side dish included pickled carrots and daikon. The naan was thick and had a chewy texture with a strong sweetness. The curry itself was mildly spicy and light in flavor. It was a bit bland for me as I prefer spicier food. Maybe it was intentionally mild to avoid upsetting the stomach at night. Looking at the menu, they also offer snacks like tandoori chicken and tikka, as well as izakaya-style dishes like grilled mackerel and cartilage tempura. They serve alcohol such as beer, shochu, and green tea highball, giving off an izakaya vibe for those who come at night. Everyone except the high school girls seemed to be enjoying their drinks. The waitstaff seemed a bit inattentive, but it's understandable. For me, being able to enjoy authentic curry for under 1,000 yen at night is much appreciated.

This Indian curry restaurant offers two types of curry and cheese naan for around 1100 yen, which is quite cost-effective compared to other places where prices are usually around 1500 yen. The curry is delicious and not too strong in flavor, making it a good choice for those trying Indian curry for the first time.

When I visited after a long time, I noticed that the interior had been changed and now had a warm and cozy atmosphere. The tables were upgraded to clean glass ones, replacing the old vinyl ones. I ordered the curry set for lunch and the ladies' set. The salad that came first was delicious with a generous amount of dressing. The lunch set arrived promptly, and the naan was crispy and moist, slightly sweet, which paired well with the mild butter chicken. The butter chicken curry here has a gentle flavor without feeling too oily, making it enjoyable until the last bite. Looking at the menu, I noticed they offer a variety of dishes besides curry, so I would like to come back for dinner next time. The restaurant has many sofa seats and seems welcoming for families with children, although there are no baby chairs. It was bustling with locals when I visited.

A curry restaurant with a great conscience and excellent customer service. You can adjust the spiciness without any additional charge. The naan is the biggest I've ever seen, fluffy and crispy! Even with just one type of curry, the portion is quite generous. For 750 yen excluding tax, you get a drink and salad included, which is cheap! The staff are very kind, with one even asking if I wanted water. This is definitely a place I will come back to! Excellent! Excellent! They also have perfect COVID-19 measures in place!

I had lunch with a combination of mutton curry and sag chicken, as well as spinach and chicken curry at Laliguras. I opted for the large portion of saffron rice with mutton and chicken sag curry. The lunch at Laliguras includes unlimited rice and naan, so you can enjoy authentic curry until you are full.

I continued my visit to unvisited shops in Ogikubo, drinking until my organs cried out for mercy. I thought a gentle drink might be nice, so I tried the lassi here, which is available for takeout. While waiting inside, I felt like having a highball, but decided against it as it would defeat the purpose. Even just getting the lassi for takeout without any complaints is truly wonderful. The lassi had just the right richness and was easy to drink. Thank you for the meal.

At the south exit of Ogikubo Station, if you go down the Nakadori shopping street, you will find this Indian restaurant underground. The interior is a bit small but clean. I ordered the "2 curry dish set B" (850 yen excluding tax), which includes a choice of naan or rice (all-you-can-eat), 2 curry dishes of your choice, salad, and a drink. When I asked the staff for curry recommendations, I decided on mutton and spinach dal. The salad was a bit disappointing, maybe because there weren't many customers. The curry was authentic and delicious, and they hardly use any oil, which was a pleasant surprise. Both dishes were well-spiced. I ordered the spicy option, but it was more medium spicy, so those who like it hot might want to go for the extra spicy. The naan was hot and fluffy without being doughy. The lassi was rich and satisfying. I wasn't impressed with the salad at first, but the curry made up for it. Thank you for the meal!

Good evening, I am a salaryman in Minato-ku. As we enter late June, the rainy season-like days continue, and the number of new infections in Tokyo is still not decreasing. Today (6/22/2020), there were 22 new cases, bringing the total number of infections to 5812. The Tokyo gubernatorial election has begun, and the current governor seems to be popular, but looking back, it seems that he has not achieved any of his promises. Being on TV is not everything. There used to be a snack bar with rumors in the underground space in the middle of Nambu Street, but it closed a few years ago and remained vacant until earlier this year when this new place opened. I ordered vegetable curry and kebab for takeout. The curry, which I asked for at normal spiciness, tasted a bit sweet, more suited for Japanese taste. It wasn't too greasy. The kebab was okay. The total for the curry, naan, and kebab was less than 1000 yen, so I thought it was good value for money. The flavors were not particularly distinctive, but I hope they continue to do their best.

I visited for the first time. It was delicious! The prices were also budget-friendly. Three adults had a full meal with side dishes, drinks (alcohol), and dessert, and we were satisfied. The location is close to the station, so you don't need an umbrella in light rain. The manager was kind and polite. The restroom was also clean. I would like to visit again after work at Ogikubo station. Thank you very much.

You can enjoy a set menu for around 1000 yen at night, making it a great value. I ordered a 2 curry set with Butter Chicken and Saag Chicken. The salad dressing is delicious, and the naan bread is sweet and buttery. The curries were mildly spicy and had a hint of honey, which I really enjoyed. I also couldn't resist ordering the Anko Cheese Naan from the handwritten menu, which was like a mix of Japanese and Indian flavors. It's quite heavy, so I recommend sharing it with someone else. The staff are from the original country, adding to the authentic atmosphere of the place.

Takeout available. Electronic money such as PayPay is accepted. There is a lassi service while waiting, which is great during the hot season. The spicy curry is not too spicy, easy to eat, and suits Japanese taste. The naan is hot and large.

(Ogikubo Area 84th shop) I tried takeout from the relatively new restaurant Laliguras in Ogikubo on a weekday night. There weren't many customers in the restaurant, probably due to the season. I ordered the following items: Spinach Mushroom Curry (with Naan or Rice) (500 yen excluding tax), Tandoori Chicken (2 pieces) (300 yen excluding tax), and Salad (150 yen excluding tax). The curry was medium spicy, and I chose rice. The curry was green in color, with a distinct spinach flavor. The spiciness was just right, and the mushrooms added a nice touch. The rice portion was generous, and the Tandoori Chicken, priced at 300 yen for 2 pieces, seemed quite reasonable. Overall, the cost performance was good. Thank you for the meal.

I use takeout from a boxing gym in the neighborhood at night, where I can eat cheap and easily. Sometimes I order curry and naan, but the mutton biryani is so delicious that I mostly go for that. There are many Indian and Nepalese curry restaurants around Ogikubo, but I couldn't find a good biryani until one day I bought biryani from a certain store in Kasai and brought it there, asking if they could make something like this. Despite the somewhat awkward Japanese communication, they accepted my request and made a biryani with adjusted spices and ingredients, which turned out even more delicious than before. The price is about 2/3 of what I paid in Kasai, making it a great deal, and I also appreciated their customer-oriented attitude. Biryani comes in a good portion, so any leftovers can be refrigerated and reheated in a frying pan for a texture closer to my liking, making it enjoyable again. I hope to try other dishes at the restaurant someday when the situation allows.
