The restaurant has a hidden and cozy atmosphere, located underground with one owner providing attentive service. The interior is simple with only a counter. The cheese platter and homemade ham platter are must-order items. 🧀 Also, the wine is delicious, and this time we enjoyed one bottle and one decanter of wine. Each wine paired well with the dishes and we had a great time.

Today, I finally had a dinner at hikari-yurari, a place I had been wanting to visit for a long time. There were impressive homemade hams hanging behind our table, but I forgot to take a picture of them.

A counter Italian restaurant where you can enjoy homemade ingredients and Italian wine. I visited about 5 years ago and wanted to come back, so I made a reservation after leaving the first place and then went there. The restaurant is located about a 2-3 minute walk north from Kyoto City Hall Station. It's on the basement floor of a modern dining building, with a staircase-themed sign as a landmark. When you open the wooden door on the left with the restaurant's name illuminated, you'll find a sophisticated space with a long counter. Towards the back, there is a large wine cellar filled with Italian wines. Inside, homemade prosciutto and more hang, which is quite impressive! The menu is à la carte, and all dishes come in portions for about 2 people, but you can order a half size if dining alone. Perhaps due to the current situation, they serve each dish individually plated. The appetizer was a porcini mushroom soup with prosciutto, I believe. The plate included 36-month-aged homemade prosciutto, homemade semi-dried figs, and homemade fresh cheese, all of which were impressive. The prosciutto had a perfect balance of saltiness and was deliciously tender. The fresh cheese was smooth and pasty. The Kyoto pork and white liver 100% country-style pâté had chunks of pork collagen on top, served with sauerkraut and pickles. It was meaty but not overwhelming, and went down easily. The occasional hint of liver flavor added a fun twist. The porcini and domestic mushroom risotto was my first time trying risotto, which is a pasta similar to rice grains. It had a perfect al dente texture, with the deep umami of mushrooms blending well into the sauce, making it a perfect autumn pasta dish. I had two glasses of wine here, a fruity and bold white and rosé that paired well with the dishes. Since bottle wines are reasonably priced here, I'd like to visit leisurely next time. It's also perfect for a date. Thank you for the feast!

The restaurant is reservation-only and has a counter seating only. It is run by a male owner. The concept of the restaurant is to enjoy the food along with wine. The dishes are very delicious. * New onion cold soup * Homemade corned beef and homemade fresh cheese potato salad * Burrata cheese and tomato caprese * Purple cabbage, chicken, and walnut salad * Firefly squid, broccoli, and tomato orecchiette * Lamb hamburger * Pudding * Semifreddo The new onion soup is sweet and the burrata cheese melts deliciously. The potato salad is said to be a result of efficiency, and it's fun to be served in a bottle. I chose the hamburger because it was quite popular on Instagram, but personally, another main course might have been better. Everything was very delicious! Also, despite being a one-man operation, the owner is said to be considerate in his preparation, and I did not feel that the service was slow.

On this day, I visited "hikari-yurari" near Kyoto City Hall♪ It's just 4-5 minutes from Kyoto City Hall Station☆ Upon arrival, I ordered "Persimmon mixed with homemade fresh cheese and 48-month aged homemade ham (half) @800" and "Porcini mushroom and plenty of domestic mushrooms risotto (half) @1300", with a glass of red wine in hand♬ For starters, they served "Norwegian salmon and lime crostini" as a side dish (@600)♪ It was so good that I wanted another one (๑>◡<๑) The "Persimmon mixed with homemade fresh cheese and 48-month aged homemade ham (half)" was just to my liking (o^^o) The "Porcini mushroom and plenty of domestic mushrooms risotto (half)" is a must-order for me. Being able to order it in a half size is very convenient♪ The chef is running the place alone, so the service is not perfect, but the food is definitely satisfying♪ Next time, I'll try the "24-month aged homemade bottarga and white kidney bean tagliatelle" (*^ω^*)

It's a completely reservation-only restaurant, but luckily I was able to make a same-day reservation♪ It's located on the basement floor, and there's another shop there, so at first, I mistakenly went into that one. I felt really sorry >< The door is open-closed style, and it had a hidden, cozy atmosphere that didn't look like a restaurant at first glance✨ I went with a foodie friend from Tabelog* When we entered, there was a businessman and probably a regular customer. Coming alone to such a wonderful restaurant is cool and lovely. We were seated at the counter seats only, and were guided to the back. We ordered glass of wine, salami platter, pickled eggs (first time trying♪), potato salad, mentaiko pasta, smoked salmon, sausage, and a bottle of wine. Everything was so delicious...><!!! I could tell that each dish was carefully crafted, and I was impressed by the high level of quality. Also, since it's a counter seat, we could see the chefs preparing the dishes, and their movements were efficient, quiet, and made me wonder if they were really cooking? The kitchen, restroom, etc., were also very clean and perfect for a date! And the tableware was also very nice. They told me the brand, so I'll go buy some next time♪

I came to Kyoto because there weren't any restaurants in Nagoya that I really wanted to visit. It's just a little over 30 minutes by Shinkansen to Kyoto, and you can even go by bicycle if you want (compared to where I'm from). So, I dashed off to Kyoto on time. This restaurant is located behind Kyoto City Hall Station. The restaurant is in the basement, but the approach to the building is narrow and the sign is small, so keep an eye out as you walk. The restaurant has only a counter with seating for about ten people. There is a wine cellar in the back designed like a room, with prosciutto hanging. There's no set menu, you order à la carte. First, some bubbles. There wasn't a specific explanation, so I think it was Prosecco. Zeporini came out as a complimentary dish. It had a good aroma of seaweed and was well seasoned. Oh, I'm getting hungry. First, I had the bonito tartare. It had tomatoes, ricotta cheese, and peanuts for texture. The pickled onions added a good acidity that matched well with the iron in the bonito. I finished the bubbles in no time, so I ordered white wine. They brought me three options, and I chose Sauvignon Blanc. It had a much fruitier aroma than the usual Sauvignon Blanc, with a refreshing and versatile taste. This is definitely the go-to in summer. Next was the burrata caprese. The sweetness of the tomatoes was strong, and the aroma of olive oil was also intense, making it very delicious. Combined with the milky texture of burrata, it was an exquisite caprese. Next up was another white, Soave Classico. It had a good acidity, and it seemed to match better with the bonito. There were two pairs of what seemed to be regular customers besides me, and one couple in the restaurant. The staff was handling everyone alone, so there were slight pauses in service. But the atmosphere was nice, and they seemed to understand how much each person was eating and drinking, so it didn't feel uncomfortable. Those little gestures and attention to detail are important. Carrot, orange, and ricotta cheese salad. When you take a bite, the aroma of cumin spreads, giving it an oriental flavor. The smoothness of the ricotta cheese was good, and in a strange way, it felt like a very refined Indian dish. I really like this kind of creativity. I was still in the mood for white wine, but when I was hesitating over choosing a Chardonnay, they brought out a rosé. The grape variety was Montepulciano. The aroma was truly that of red grapes, and it had a dry taste with the grape aroma, typical of a dry rosé. Perfect for summer. Fettuccine with ragù sauce. This was delicious too. It was a traditional beef ragù sauce, but the noodles were chewy and tasty. It's nice when the noodles don't lose to the sauce. I had Chianti Classico with this. I usually don't prefer Chianti Classico, but this one was easy to drink without any strong flavors. I was holding back on the main course, but I still had room in my stomach, so I ordered dumplings. Apparently, it was a limited menu item in celebration of their 10th anniversary. When I hear that, I can't help but order it. It was topped with Parmigiano, but it was truly a dumpling with a unique taste. The chewy texture of the skin was great, just like the pasta earlier. For the main course, I requested the braised beef cheek. It was a traditional braised dish, but instead of mashed potatoes, it was served on cabbage cooked in cream, which was interesting. It was more refreshing this way, and it was very satisfying. I forgot to mention the red wine for this dish. It's about time for my memory to fade. Actually, I had ordered one more dish. How much did I eat and drink? It was also a limited menu item, green curry. You might want to joke about having dumplings and green curry at an Italian restaurant, but it was delicious. It had quite a bit of chicken in it, and the spices were well balanced, surpassing the green curry you would have at a Thai restaurant. Everyone in the restaurant ordered it because it smelled so good. So, I ate and drank a lot. It came to just under 15,000 yen. Considering the amount of food, it was a reasonable price. If a group of people went, it wouldn't likely go over 10,000 yen per person. I felt a sense of fulfillment from purely enjoying delicious food. The menu itself wasn't particularly innovative ===========

Autumn has come again! They said, but here I am for the second time! The ambiance inside the restaurant that I couldn't fully appreciate in spring catches my eye. The age group of the customers is relatively older, in their 40s to 50s. It makes sense that those who have enjoyed many delicious meals would come here! The atmosphere is very calm. Their specialty in November is mushroom soup, served by pouring the soup from an iron teapot! I love this performance! And the taste is amazing! Rich and exquisite! I was blown away! From spring to now, I've been impressed again by their specialty dish (laughs). On my second visit, coordinating with my dining companion about our stomachs and food choices was smooth (laughs). When you tell the manager about the atmosphere, they will select a few wines for you. This time, I was recommended a delicious wine with a nutty aroma that was fantastic at the end. Although I mentioned wanting to try the standard menu this time, I ended up choosing dishes with seasonal ingredients! (laughs) I had the potato salad for the second time, savoring its deliciousness, followed by the autumn eggplant and homemade cheese crostini... It was so delicious that I was rolling on the floor in my mind (laughs). The mackerel and potato short pasta (handmade pasta, forgot the name ☆) was so incredibly tasty that I begged my friend, "Let's come for a third time for sure!" (laughs) (My friend was impressed by the service when the manager, who wasn't satisfied with the taste the first time, asked, "Can I take a little more time and remake it?") Both of us have been to various restaurants, but this place is one of our top favorites, if not the number one or two! I will definitely come back in spring! I'll be a regular! (laughs)

After enjoying 90 minutes at Takohachi in Shokoji-dori, I called for a reservation and luckily secured a seat. I informed the staff that I had been there before, and they remembered when I arrived. I ordered a glass of red wine from Sardinia, which was full of fruity flavor, spicy, and had a good body. It was a hit! They kindly switched the appetizer from tartine to olives because they thought the tartine might be too heavy. The olives were delicious with an elegant marinated flavor. I enjoyed dishes like "Steamed Sakura Shrimp and Greens with Dried Fava Bean Puree" and "Firefly Squid Ink Stew with Couscous" as appetizers. Both dishes featured spring to early summer ingredients, and the Italian cuisine really captured the seasonal essence. I savored the refreshing finish and enjoyed the unique world created by the staff. I had three drinks each and had a pleasant conversation with the staff, who had some free time, about the reviewer who recommended this restaurant and other topics. The bill came to 10,150 yen for two people. I might have been quite intoxicated by the atmosphere tonight.

Ryo Kakefuda, a Shiga native majoring in architecture, runs a counter Italian restaurant alone. He has been operating in this area for 7 years and in a different location for 10 years. I had a reunion in Osaka during the day, had some drinks, and it turned into a long event, so I searched for a place where I could order dishes a bit late for dinner. I found this place and made a reservation for 2 people at 7:00 pm with confidence after seeing a review by Mimikun. Getting off at Kyoto City Hall Station on the Tozai Subway Line, I walked north on Teramachi Street, turned left on Oshikoji Street, passed Sushi Yamazaki, and found the restaurant in the basement of a building on the left. I opened the door on the right after getting off and entered to find a long counter seat on the right side, which was almost full already. I waited a bit for Kakefuda to be available and was guided to a seat in the middle. The BGM was jazz. The trick is to order at the right timing while watching Kakefuda's movements. Since I had beer before, he generously poured a glass of "Colli Ripani Sangiovese Biologico" (@700 yen) from 2 types of red wines and we toasted right away. It had a nice fruity flavor. While sipping the wine, I considered the menu. I ordered egg pickles, bamboo shoot sauté, walnut salad, and pork shoulder loin. When I asked about ordering one more pasta dish, I was told it's the right amount. A "New Onion Soup with 3-Year-Aged Prosciutto" (@500 yen) was served as a complimentary appetizer. The warm soup was sweet with onions. The aged prosciutto was a nice touch, and he said he aged it himself. The kitchen's width, the counter's width, and the aisle's width were all just right, the restaurant was tidy and very clean. Since he seemed busy, it's better to order a bottle, so I requested a "Travelsa Barbera d'Alba Burdinetta" (4,300 yen) and a meat sauce pasta. The Barbera d'Alba had a fruity flavor and a nice body. The "Bamboo Shoot Sauté with Homemade Bacon and Wood Sorrel Scent" (1,500 yen) was a delight in this season, with a fragrant and tender seasonal ingredient. The "Egg Pickles" (300 yen) had perfectly cooked whites and runny yolks, with a slight acidity that increased the appetite. He efficiently took orders from the full house of customers, organized them, and cooked them. Someone requested an additional pasta dish with seasonal ingredients like shirasu, aonori, and cabbage, but unfortunately, it was the last one made for the day. The "Purple Cabbage, Chicken, and Walnut Salad" (1,100 yen) had pickled purple cabbage with chicken and walnuts, creating a harmonious blend of chicken umami and walnut texture. The "Slow-Cooked Handmade Kitara Pasta with Meat Sauce" (2,000 yen) was exactly as expected, with a richly flavored meat sauce that made me smile involuntarily. The "Kyoto Pork Shoulder Loin Steak" (3,200 yen) was thinly sliced and served, tender and full of flavor. Most of the customers that day were from Tokyo rather than locals. The bill came to 16,200 yen for 2 people, which was reasonable, and I left completely satisfied. Bon appétit!

I love it! I love it! The first time was in May 2019. When I mentioned that I was interested in a certain restaurant, my friend made a reservation for me. It's a small restaurant with only a counter, but I was convinced when I saw the manager handling everything alone. The onion soup with a surprising sweetness stole my heart with just one sip (laughs). What a gentle and delicious flavor! But it's not too sweet. You can taste the wonderful and meticulous work put into the food. Even though we said we weren't very hungry, we ended up eating and drinking together! They handle seasonal ingredients with care at this beloved restaurant. The pasta is also handmade. Everything is delicious and I love it! I even made a dinner reservation for my autumn trip to Kyoto ♡

I was looking for a delicious à la carte restaurant and decided to try this place that I had been curious about. The long and narrow interior has about 12 counter seats, creating a relaxed atmosphere. Although the menu is listed for two people, they usually offer half-size portions. Since I was dining alone this time, I requested a half-size portion. The cover charge is ¥500. - Barley and Burdock Salad: This was the appetizer, refreshing. - Homemade Thick-cut Smoked Salmon: Served with finely chopped pickled cabbage. The moist and rare smoked salmon had a slightly firm salty taste. - Assorted Homemade Ham: Included Kyoto pork ham, 42-month aged ham, rich in aging aroma, melt-in-your-mouth prosciutto, and flavorful salami. - Bread: I inquired about the uncooked bread since the charcuterie was very flavorful. They mentioned that the focaccia is baked, so I requested it. They will reheat it for you. The homemade focaccia had a dense texture for focaccia with moderate oil content, making it a suitable bread for the meal. It was served with Hanakago's baguette. - Homemade Bottarga and White Bean Handmade Tagliatelle: The pasta was thicker than traditional tagliatelle, with a chewy texture that paired well with the bottarga. Lastly, I tried a bit of Hanakago's stollen. The chef is calm, and engaging in conversation with him was enjoyable. While I'm not sure about their usual operations, during my visit, the chef was working alone, so there might be a wait during busy times. Nevertheless, it's a place where you can leisurely enjoy wine and have a great time. I will visit again☆

We had a full course meal for two. We had been to this place as a second stop before, and since we enjoyed the appetizers, starters, and pasta, this time we opted for the full course meal. The potato salad in a cute jar, chicken liver, purple cabbage and walnut salad (this is art! Really delicious), pasta, pork, and dessert - each dish was incredibly delicious, and the sparkling wine and wine went down smoothly. Despite being an open kitchen (it's a bar), it was very clean, the interior of the restaurant had a tasteful design, and the master's attention to detail was evident throughout.

Going down the stairs to the basement makes me excited. The combination of aged homemade ham, dishes made with homemade ingredients, and Italian wine is excellent. I always admire the owner's diligent work. I always intend to drink just a little, but I end up drinking too much. Even if I drink too much, there are no problems the next day. The wine must be of good quality.

It was reasonably priced and delicious, but it feels more like a place to enjoy wine rather than food. It might not be suitable for those looking to enjoy a meal. Also, the owner didn't seem to like young customers very much, which was a bit disappointing. Well, I'm not that young either. Did I look young? I think it's good for adults who love wine, but I won't be going back.
