Yes, it's ramen time at "Ramen Ikedaya Suita Store"! "Curry (limited to 10 servings) 1,200 yen" Hello everyone, it's ramentimesdaiichi here, who recently declared to graduate from Jiro-style ramen (or so I thought) (laughs). I was in Suita for some errands, and was planning to have lunch with convenience store food when I happened to pass by "Ramen Ikedaya Suita Store" and saw no line! Could this be a sign that I must try it? So, I impulsively entered the store... Where did my declaration of graduating from Jiro-style ramen go? (laughs) Without any research, I entered and stood in front of the ticket machine, where I saw the words "Curry limited to 10 servings 1,200 yen"! And it even had a lamp on! I couldn't resist and purchased it. I took my ticket and sat at the designated counter seat. After a while, I heard, "Would you like garlic?" But since I was in the middle of work and had a business meeting coming up, I sadly said, "No, thank you." I also asked for extra vegetables, but since the curry comes with green onions instead of bean sprouts, they couldn't add extra. They mentioned that they could add bean sprouts, but it would make the curry watery, so I decided to have it as it is. And then, the curry was served with a raw egg and Fukujinzuke (pickled daikon radish)! [Visual] Unlike the usual Jiro-style ramen with extra vegetables, the visual appeal was not as strong, but the crumbled pork and other ingredients were still quite appealing! [Soup] First, I tried the soup... Mmm, delicious! The base of pork flavor mixed with the curry aroma... Oh no, this is dangerous! It's incredibly delicious! [Noodles] The noodles were not too firm or too soft, but chewy and easy to eat flat noodles. And since there were no vegetables, I could fully enjoy the taste of the noodles! [Toppings] The crumbled pork was soft, flavorful, and dangerously delicious! I added Fukujinzuke halfway through, and when I dipped the raw egg, it gave a mellow taste like dipping noodles. I forgot about my upcoming business meeting and focused solely on eating Jiro-style ramen in broad daylight! It was so delicious! Thank you for the meal. And I found out later that during this season, they also offer cold soupless ramen... As a fan of cold Jiro-style ramen, I definitely have to come back! But I wonder if it will still be available by then? I'm really curious.

This is a homework shop that I hadn't been to in Osaka yet. The soup is quite emulsified, and the pork is tender and delicious. The vegetables (bean sprouts) are crunchy with chili peppers on top. The noodles were cooked to my liking, and there was a satisfying amount. (I chose 300g of noodles.) It has become one of the shops I would like to visit again.

Visit date: August 29, 2023 (Tuesday) "Ikedaya Suita branch" The rumored chilled ramen without salt soup, "600NnYAmm", has been tempting me on my TL for a while. I felt like I couldn't let summer end without trying it, so I visited. The noodles, firm and refreshing with cold water, were topped with chewy wood ear mushrooms and tender shredded pork, creating a delicious combination. It made me feel like I had found a new summer pleasure. They also had a limited edition curry starting. ●Location: 1-3-3 Kotobuki-cho, Suita City, Osaka Prefecture, 225m from Suita Station (Hankyu Line) ●Business hours: [Tue-Sun] 11:30-14:00, 18:00-22:00, Closed on Mondays. Arrived at the restaurant at 6:00 pm on a regular day with 3 customers already there. 10 minutes later, the 10-seat restaurant was full. Most customers were salarymen, and the ramen cost 1000 yen for 400g. Only option for customization was extra garlic. Lucky to be served on the first round. The noodles were cooked for 8 minutes and had a strong salty taste, possibly from artificial seasoning. The soup was not drinkable but had a strong impact when mixed with the noodles, possibly due to its emulsified nature. There was a layer of oil about 1 cm thick on top of the soup, even though there was no visible back fat. The noodles were flat and not too chewy, making them easy to eat. They had a slight wheat flavor reminiscent of Jiro-style noodles. The pork topping was roughly chopped and lacked the melt-in-your-mouth tenderness or sweetness of fatty meat, giving a chunkier texture. The only vegetable topping was bean sprouts, keeping the dish simple. Despite the large bowl size for 400g of ramen, it was surprisingly easy to finish. Adding extra vegetables and reducing the saltiness of the soup might enhance the overall taste.

Yes, it's Sunday... and I had to work. After a night shift at my main job, I was in Suita City. I finished my main job quickly and had an early lunch. Yamane-san was closed for the day, so I decided to try a Jiro-style ramen at Ikedaya Suita store, located a little south of Hankyu Suita Station. I had been turned away several times before, but this time there was no line, so I stopped by. The counter was shiny, probably coated with varnish, and there were only 3 customers ahead of me with one staff member handling everything. I noticed that the prices were the same for 100g to 400g of ramen, at 1,000 yen. I thought it was a bit expensive, but I ordered 200g. The ramen took 8 minutes to cook, and I added a lot of garlic, extra oil, and requested it to be spicy. When the ramen arrived, it was a decently sized mountain. The soup was very thick and oily due to the extra oil, and the spicy kick from the red pepper hit my throat as I ate the bean sprouts. The chashu was a chunk of pork shoulder, slightly tough to chew. After eating some of the bean sprouts, I flipped the toppings over and started on the noodles. The flat, wavy, firm noodles were to my liking. The garlic in this ramen was by far the spiciest I've ever had in a Jiro-style ramen. It had a strong impact, but I couldn't finish it and gave up after eating about 2/3 of the bowl. It was a challenge. Thank you for the meal.

No soup, salt, extra vegetables, raw egg, and seared chashu topping. I arrived at the restaurant on a weekday night at 8:00 PM and was the 7th in line. I was able to enter in about 15 minutes. Isn't this the best of Kansai inspa? The taste was shocking. The chashu was tender, and the leeks and wood ear mushrooms added a nice accent. When you order without soup, you get a free raw egg, which is amazing. I feel like I want to try the regular menu next time, but I'm torn because the soupless option was so good.

On Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at 7:38 pm, there was a line outside the store, but you need to purchase a ticket from the ticket machine inside before lining up. The soupless ramen with 300g is 1000 yen. Just as I was about to join the line, a person came out from inside the store holding a ticket, so I understood the process. It was my first visit to Abunai, Abunai. First visit to Ikedaya! I was drawn to the good reviews of the soupless ramen, so even though it was my first visit, I decided to go for the soupless option instead of regular ramen. The sizes (small, medium, large) are all the same price. This time, being a first-time visitor, I opted for the 300g medium size. At 8:00 pm, I sat at the counter inside the store. I requested extra vegetables, fat, and no garlic or egg, but I realized I should have only mentioned what I wanted instead of what I didn't want. The noodles were flat and quite smooth. Even though it was soupless, there was still quite a bit of broth in the bowl. After finishing the noodles and toppings, I found about half of the bowl still had broth. I tried drinking the broth with a spoon, and it was delicious even on its own. By the time I finished eating, my face and head were covered in sweat. When I said "thank you for the meal," there was no response. I left the store at 8:23 pm.

I learned from a senior I am grateful for, and went to a ramen shop last month, but it was unexpectedly closed. Today, I tried again for revenge with Jiro-style ramen. I am a beginner, but I challenged it with extra toppings! It was incredibly delicious, even though I ordered a regular size, my stomach was full. #Jiro-style ramen #Suitsuda gourmet #Noodle activity #Slurping diary #Slurping record

I visited Ramen Ikedaya in Suita. I arrived around 11:40 and there were about 3 people in line. The ramen comes in 200g, 300g, or 400g servings, all priced at 900 yen. You buy the ramen ticket from a vending machine and hand it to the staff. Toppings are paid for separately in cash. There seems to be a mysterious insistence on separating the ramen ticket and cash for toppings, perhaps for communication between staff and customers. I ordered ramen with 300g noodles, extra vegetables, garlic, extra bean sprouts, and extra spicy. The soup was not too heavy, with a nice richness. The chashu had both tender and block pieces, providing a generous amount. The restaurant only has a counter and the air conditioning was not very effective, making the atmosphere feel damp and hot during the summer. This aspect could be improved. Overall, the dining experience was good. (Visit rating: 3.52, based on 136 reviews)

I visited around 1 PM on a weekday and was seated without waiting. For 900 yen, the 400g portion with that chashu and flavor is so cost-effective that it's at a level of being impressed. I want to go on my day off and increase to 600g with lots of vegetables. Impressed. I will go again. The maze-soba also looks delicious. I'm hooked.

I visited this famous restaurant inspired by the Jiro-style ramen in Kansai, which I have been interested in for a while. I ordered the soup-less medium 300g with garlic, spicy, and extra oil. The chashu was tender and delicious, and the spices mixed well with the noodles, stimulating my appetite. I will have to come up with a better way to eat the egg next time, as it disappeared quickly when mixed in, leaving me feeling a bit disappointed.

I stopped by for lunch today and ordered the daily special ramen with medium noodles (300g) for 900 yen. I asked for extra toppings except for spicy. When I visited last September, the regular size (200g) was 900 yen and the medium size (300g) was 950 yen. I had been avoiding coming back due to the price increase, but I read in other reviews that the prices had been unified, so I decided to visit again after a long time. Indeed, the prices are now the same for 100g to 400g. I chose the medium size of 300g this time. In the kitchen, there was a timer set for 8 minutes, which is quite a long cooking time. The ramen was served in just over 10 minutes. The signature emulsified soup of Ikedaya was still delicious, with a rich but not overwhelming creamy texture. The pork seemed to be shoulder meat, with a good balance of lean and fatty parts. The noodles were cooked slightly firm, which paired well with the thick soup. I noticed the timer for boiling noodles for the person sitting next to me was less than 5 minutes, so I hurriedly finished my meal. Thank you for the meal.

- Ordered item: Ramen (regular size) for 900 yen - Dish: Toppings such as vegetables, garlic, fat, and spiciness can be adjusted. The regular size is 200g, but you can get 300g for the same price. The noodles are not too thick, flat noodles that provide a satisfying chew. The soup is slightly spicy, but not as spicy as the typical Jiro-style ramen. It has a slight sweetness and a good umami flavor, making it a delicious bowl. - Atmosphere: Visited during lunchtime and noticed a lot of students. It's inconvenient that there is no parking lot.

I ordered ramen without soup, with vegetables, oil, and caramel. The taste was extremely rich and delicious. However, maybe it would have been better without the caramel. It became too overwhelming halfway through. But for those who like strong flavors, it's a must-try dish. I definitely want to try their ramen next time. The attitude of the staff was somewhat unpleasant.

I came on a Saturday for a day off and arrived at 11:35. There were 10 people ahead of me, and it took about 40 minutes to get inside. I bought a ticket at the vending machine for the soupless ramen for 900 yen. The noodles were thick and had a strong chewy texture. The broth was quite intense and salty. I was looking forward to the large amount of chashu as mentioned in other reviews, but there was only about half of what I expected. It was tender, but also quite salty, so the amount might have been just right. Overall, I think the Sano Group deserves credit for this.

I have been going here for a while now. I was very happy when it opened in Suita after trying it in Kyoto Ichijoji. The regular size ramen is enough for me. The combination of vegetables and oil in the soup is addictive. As you eat, the thick noodles, thick chashu, and strong flavors hit you. There is also shichimi on the table, so you can change the taste while eating. I have been to various Jiro-style ramen places, but this one is the best.

I visited the restaurant hoping to try the spicy miso ramen, but it seems it had ended three months ago. Nevertheless, I ordered the large ramen with extra toppings. The chashu was tender and flavorful, and I enjoyed the thick noodles and creamy soup. Personally, I liked it more than the Jiro-style ramen in Kyoto. The table spice (ichimi?) was also delicious.

I arrived at Hankyu Suita Station at 11:19 and went straight to the restaurant with a friend. We arrived to find that there were already two people waiting, so we lined up as the third and fourth in line. It seems that the prices of the ramen have been revised this week, with all noodle sizes (up to 400g) being charged at the same price. The price of the small size ramen has increased from 850 yen to 900 yen! (Although it was already cheap, so I didn't really mind) I found out on the train ride back that you can request the ramen in 50g increments if you tell the staff! (I wish I had known, I would have gotten 150g...) For today's order, I got the soupless ramen (small size) with toppings of mustard mayonnaise (50 yen) and seared chashu (200 yen), with extra garlic, vegetables, oil, and a raw egg. I had planned to order extra mayonnaise and egg as toppings, but they were already included! Lucky me! Since I had a bad experience last time with too much garlic (tears and runny nose), this time I just added a little extra garlic. Maybe because of the mayonnaise and egg, it was slightly milder and easier to eat! It was my first time trying soupless ramen, and it was really delicious with the ingredients and noodles mixing well together! I finished it quickly, even faster than the time I spent waiting in line.

Alright, it's time for a business trip to Osaka. I have planned to visit Ikedaya on the first day and Ramen Kudo on the second day. Ramen Kudo was recommended to me, which I am grateful for. Ikedaya is known for its popularity in Takadanobaba, Tokyo, but I decided to visit the Osaka branch first. Upon arrival on Sunday at 11:00, there were already 10 people in line for the 10-seat restaurant. I managed to get a seat just in time. The operation was a bit slow, and the chairs were a bit uncomfortable. Surprisingly, there was no pepper on the table, only chili peppers. I ordered with additional toppings of raw egg and spicy leeks. The soup was oily with a good pork flavor, but not too heavy. The noodles were medium-thick and slightly firm, which paired well with the light soup. The toppings were decent, but the portion of meat was small. The spicy leeks added a nice kick to the soup. Overall, the ramen was easy to eat but a bit lacking in volume. I look forward to visiting Ramen Kudo tomorrow.

I arrived at the restaurant around five minutes before the usual opening time of 11:30 AM, and was surprised to see about 5 people already lining up. As soon as the clock struck 11:30, the doors opened and customers started entering one by one. First, you choose the size of ramen at the ticket machine, then you get water from the self-service area, and finally you sit at the counter seats at the back. If you want to add toppings, you leave the exact change at the counter and take some time to decide on your toppings. The types of toppings and their prices are displayed inside the restaurant. The noodles take quite a while to cook, so I waited for about 20 minutes until I was called by the staff. During this time, I pondered over whether to add garlic, extra oil, vegetables, or spicy seasoning. It was an exciting time. When asked by the staff how much garlic I wanted, I told them my preference. I ordered the small size ramen, but there was a slight mix-up when I asked for "extra" garlic and "no" spicy seasoning, as the sounds are similar. As a result, I ended up with extra spicy seasoning, which surprisingly complemented the garlic well, and I enjoyed my meal. However, I later struggled with the strong garlic flavor and ended up tearing up and having a runny nose. Luckily, I had tissues with me! The vegetables were crunchy, the meat was tender like tuna, and the noodles had a chewy texture, making the dish very delicious. Since it was my first time visiting and I was unsure about the normal size and taste, I didn't add any toppings, but I am curious about adding extra meat or wasabi mayonnaise next time. I might challenge myself with a soupless ramen with extra oil next time.

【Ramen Ikedaya】(Suita, Osaka) Ramen (Regular) ¥950 Less garlic, extra vegetables Rating: ★★★★☆ 3.8 Visit Date: 02/28/2023 One of the few Jiro-inspired ramen shops in Kansai. Despite opening on a weekday, there were about 15 people waiting in line. Everyone was in casual clothes, so they might have taken the day off to come here. I was also one of them. [Noodles] The noodles looked like something you could buy in stores, so I didn't have high expectations. However, the noodles exceeded my expectations. Thick noodles with a distinct wheat aroma. The surface was smooth and shiny. [Soup] The soup was a rich, emulsified broth with concentrated pork umami. The soy sauce flavor was strong and delicious, but it was a bit lukewarm at around 60 degrees (?) which was disappointing. If it had been piping hot, it would have been even more delicious. The taste was amazing! [Toppings] The pork was tender and delicious. It was simmered until it fell apart, with great flavor. There was also shredded pork with a different texture, which was also good. The toppings were excellent. [Atmosphere] There were about 10 seats at the counter. The radio added a nice touch to the atmosphere. [Next Visit] I would like to try the limited spicy miso ramen next time. [Overall] Overall, I really enjoyed the meal! It's no wonder there's a line for this high-quality Jiro-inspired ramen in the area. The soup, pork, and noodles were all delicious. Thank you for the meal! Opening Hours: 11:30-14:00, 18:00-23:00 (Sundays until 21:00) Closed on Mondays Paid parking available nearby Cash only, ticket system (line up, buy ticket when seated)
