I had the most amazing sushi that any sake lover would enjoy. I usually attend a monthly "Sushi and Sake Party" at my favorite standing sake bar, "Kojimachi Izumiya," where they serve incredible sushi that perfectly complements the sake. The next party, "Sushi and Sake Party in Nagatsuki," is in September, but unfortunately, I have other plans that day. So, I started craving the sushi from "Sushikawa." It was my first time visiting the standing sushi bar "Sushikawa." I mistakenly thought that reservations were not accepted on weekends, but when I called on the day, they said there was availability from 1 pm. I arrived just after 1 pm and found a spot at the counter. Each seat had a self-order QR code ticket for ordering. I had walked from Sasazuka Station in the heat, so I started with a bottle of Sapporo Lager for ¥800. Cheers! The Sapporo Lager was delicious! I then ordered the Bamboo Course (about 15 pieces) with a soup for ¥5,500. The sushi was amazing, especially the White Cuttlefish from Nagasaki, the Flounder from Tokushima, and the Japanese Horse Mackerel from Kanagawa. I also had some sake, starting with the Sankiku Fusakogane from Chiba for ¥550, which was fantastic. The Salmon from Aomori, the Olive Flounder from Aomori, the Simmered Oyster from Hiroshima, and the Red Tuna from Nagasaki were all delicious. I added a second sake, the Sankiku Sonomai from Chiba for ¥550, which was also great. The Octopus from Tokushima, the Scallop from Iwate, and the Salmon Roe from Hokkaido were all amazing. I tried the Nine-Spotted Goby from Nagasaki for the first time, and it was fantastic. I also had the Red Tuna Brain from Nagasaki, which was incredibly tender and flavorful. I finished off with a Kanpyo Roll for ¥500, which was delicious, and a savory soup with Sweet Shrimp, Golden Eye Snapper, Clam, and Hairy Crab. I always look forward to the sushi from "Sushikawa" at the "Sushi and Sake Party" at "Kojimachi Izumiya," but now I've discovered "Sushikawa" standing sushi bar as well. My sushi and sake experiences are definitely increasing.

A standing sushi restaurant in Sasazuka. They offer well-prepared sushi using quality seafood at a reasonable price. They also have a free-flowing drink menu that includes champagne, white wine, and sake. The sake selection is particularly impressive, as the owner, Mr. Hayakawa, is a certified sake sommelier. On Saturdays, they offer a "20-piece nigiri + all-you-can-drink" course for 13,200 yen for a 2-hour period (tax included). Private reservations are available for 11,000 yen (tax included), making it quite a good deal. Today, I visited after about 6 and a half months. It was a special private event with tickets obtained by the organizer for 8,000 yen (tax included). I particularly enjoyed the white cuttlefish, shime saba, nodoguro, and silver cod. The drink menu included three types of champagne, three types of white wine, and about 20 types of sake. It was a satisfying experience with a wide variety of small dishes.

I have been to this standing sushi bar many times. It's a bit of a walk from Sasazuka Station, but I really like it because the sushi is delicious and the cost performance is good. Recently, there have been more foreign tourists visiting, making it harder to get a reservation, but I made sure to book in advance and went to eat there! There are even female sushi chefs at this standing sushi bar, and the interior is clean, which I think is rare. You need a smartphone to order drinks using a QR code. I had a glass of wine since it was lunchtime, but of course, you can also enjoy it with cold tea. When I go with a friend, we each finish all 20 pieces and leave feeling full. Every type of sushi is delicious, but the tuna, shellfish, gizzard shad, and sea urchin are the best! The soup at the end is also delicious, and I am very satisfied!

Counter-style sushi restaurant where customers stand while eating. The chef changes daily, so regulars on Twitter visit on their favorite chef's day. The chef is friendly and approachable, and even young couples can be seen at the counter. The course offers authentic Edomae sushi starting at 3000 yen for 10 pieces. The chef serves each piece in consideration of flavors, and all are well-prepared and delicious. Personally, I found the kanpyo maki to be particularly tasty. It had a sweet and rich flavor, with wasabi as a nice touch. The menu changes regularly, so you can always try new items. They also have a wide selection of sake to complement the sushi. Since it's counter seating only, it's not suitable for large groups, making it perfect for a date. You can enjoy delicious Edomae sushi at a reasonable price, making it a satisfying experience. Recommended for different situations: Date with a girl - ☆☆; Hanging out with friends - ☆

I revisited the restaurant after seeing on their SNS that they had started serving lunch on weekends. They have been experimenting with lunch service since June, and the prices and portions are different from those on weekdays. The sushi pieces and rice are larger, similar to what you would get in the evening. The quality of the fish and freshness are as good as always, but the lunch course has fewer items, mainly focusing on white fish.

I received an omakase set of 10 pieces. Even though it's a standing sushi bar, the quality of the sushi for this price is impressive. The shari rice melts in your mouth and the seasoning is just to my liking. I'm not very knowledgeable about sake, but the wide selection makes it fun to choose from. A great place to stop by as the first bar when going out for drinks.

I finally visited the sushi restaurant I was curious about. The sushi served was small in size, making it perfect as a snack with sake. It was just right for us adults who don't want to eat too much. We enjoyed the fish and sake very deliciously. It's a recommended place for when you want to go for a quick and casual meal. Thank you for the delicious meal.

Last time I ordered nigiri sushi, so this time I ordered a seafood bowl. The seafood bowl has more variety of toppings. Personally, I prefer the seafood bowl because you can adjust (increase) the amount of rice compared to nigiri sushi. Each topping was delicious, and I was satisfied!

The restaurant offers a lunch set with either 10 pieces of sushi or a seafood bowl for 2000 yen each. The quality of the fish is good and the pricing is reasonable. The sushi pieces are not large, but they are delicious and the upscale atmosphere of the restaurant adds to the dining experience. The flounder sushi was particularly delicious!

The stylish interior with an arched ceiling and walls, featuring a L-shaped counter for 12 people in standing style without chairs. Sushi orders are available a la carte or in 3-course options, including seafood bowls. Drinks can be ordered a la carte or with all-you-can-drink options. The bamboo course includes 15 pieces for 5,000 yen, with a variety of sushi selections. Other menu items include simmered clams, dried gourd sushi rolls, Heartland beer, and a light cloudy sake. The sushi pieces are small in size, with vinegared rice, a firm texture, and a refreshing taste. The ginger pickled ginger has a unique flavor with a spicy ginger taste and a sweet and sour aftertaste. While standing sushi can be tiring, this visit was enjoyable with the help of a friend. Lunch service has recently started, with different menus for weekdays and weekends. Please refer to our Instagram for our operating hours.

Towards the end of Golden Week, I visited a standing sushi bar called Sushi Kawa located between Sasazuka and Daitabashi, slightly closer to Daitabashi. They usually only serve lunch on Tuesdays and Fridays, but luckily they were open for lunch during Golden Week as well. I had the chef's choice of 10 pieces of nigiri sushi for 2000 yen, which included items like mejina, inegochi, kibinago, red shrimp, striped horse mackerel, lean bluefin tuna, medium fatty bluefin tuna, flounder fin, fatty tuna, and conger eel. The lunch portions were small but each piece was meticulously crafted, with a melt-in-your-mouth texture. I also ordered a simmered oyster as an additional dish, and the miso soup with squid ink, clams, shrimp, and golden snapper had a rich and flavorful broth. I also got a seafood bowl to go for dinner, making me feel like I had turned into a fish for the night. It was a truly wonderful and nice choice moment.

It has a grapefruit-like refreshing and slightly bitter taste, very unique but not overpowering! - Hokkigai crispy and refreshing sweetness. - Shime saba fluffy and delicious! - Tsurukame a sake that resembles an aged sake. - Kinosumi crab from Kinosumi, a type of snow crab. It has a rich taste, generous in portion, and fills the mouth with crab goodness! - Torikai jelly-like texture, with a hint of oyster-like aroma and texture. - Hanaya limited edition. It has a strong aroma and a rich rice flavor. - Nakatoro rich and creamy flavor. - Ikura with soy sauce, the unique taste of salmon blends well with the soy sauce. - Kakushizake Hanayoku. If you were to name it, it would be clam miso. - Hitoriko clam soup, not cooked in a pot but finished with low-temperature cooking. The flavor is rich, and the clam liver part is creamy like crab miso. If you were to name it, it would be clam miso. - Kuribayashi recommended to pair with shrimp, it complements the sweetness of the shrimp. - Hidaka elegant spiciness that is not overbearing! - Bafun uni extremely creamy, sweet, almost like pudding! - Owan made with golden snapper, clams, shrimp, and throat blackfish dashi. This is delicious!! - Kido full-bodied and elegant. - Gari also has its own uniqueness and attention to detail. Each sushi and sake were delicious, and they interacted with each other to enhance the flavors even more! Thanks to the smaller rice portions and omitting appetizers, I was able to try a variety of dishes! It was a very dynamic sushi restaurant, and I immediately applied for a ticket to the event where they will be serving Kubota sushi. I am looking forward to the next time we meet. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I wonder how many times I've visited this restaurant. Today, I went for the Friday lunch. It was packed with women, even the sushi counter was all women. I couldn't get a seat, so I decided to get a seafood bowl for dinner to go. The cost performance is great, the staff are friendly, and the prices are so reasonable that there's nothing to complain about. It's the best.

Standing sushi bar Sushikawa has completely changed the image of standing sushi bars. Every piece of sushi was delicious, and the variety of drinks available was impressive. The conversation with the head chef was enjoyable, making it the perfect dinner experience. Course options include the Matsusushi course (20 pieces) for ¥8,000 and the all-you-can-drink option for ¥4,000. Despite loving sake, I couldn't handle it well and ended up drinking too much. Be careful not to overindulge as everything is so delicious. If you're worried about a sushi date being intimidating, don't be! This place comes highly recommended!

We made a reservation for two on a Saturday night and visited for the first time. It is within walking distance from Sasazuka Station. The interior of the restaurant consists of only a counter, creating a sophisticated and clean space that seems suitable for a date. The restaurant can also be reserved for private parties with up to 10 people, making it convenient for various occasions. The place was fully booked throughout the evening, with many couples and married couples among the customers. Sushi Kappo Sushikawa opened in October 2021, offering one piece of sushi for 2021 yen. The restaurant specializes in authentic Edomae-style standing sushi that can be enjoyed either as a course or a la carte, catering to both light dining and hearty meals. The menu clearly lists the origin of each item, and the quality offered at this price point is exceptional. The sushi course is priced at 3000 yen for 10 pieces, 5000 yen for 15 pieces, and 8000 yen for 20 pieces, making it easy to understand the pricing structure. We ordered the Matsusaka Course (20 pieces) for 8000 yen on this day. The sushi was meticulously prepared and delicious, with slightly smaller shari rice seasoned with vinegar. The fish pieces were generous in size, and we especially enjoyed the thickly sliced simmered anago eel, fatty and flavorful chutoro tuna, crunchy and delicious hiragai clam, meaty deep-sea Kinosaki crab, amazingly tasty simmered hamaguri clam, generous sea urchin, and huge shrimp. The high-quality items such as hiragai clam, simmered hamaguri clam, and huge shrimp were particularly outstanding. Even the first 10 pieces were highly satisfying. The restaurant offers over 20 varieties of Japanese sake for a drink-all-you-can option priced at 4000 yen, with a daily changing selection that includes both rare and popular choices. The combination of delicious Japanese sake and sushi in a stylish and refined setting made for a delightful dining experience. Despite being a standing sushi restaurant, we found it surprisingly comfortable to stand for two hours. We definitely look forward to visiting again.

Received Menu: Pine Course 8,000 yen (20 pieces + soup) All-you-can-drink 4,000 yen Located between Sasazuka and Daitabashi, near a crossroads in a stylish building with a beautiful sign. I often pass by this area but I overlooked it! The interior has around 10-12 counter seats. Since the business days are limited, it's better to make a reservation! The clean interior design boosts your mood. In addition to 10, 15, and 20-piece courses, you can also order a la carte at this restaurant. The sushi is unbelievably delicious! I think the cost performance is great especially when standing and eating, it feels like it's more than double the value... The all-you-can-drink sake is also a highlight. There is a variety of labels, from rare ones to classic ones, making it fun to choose. It has a hidden gem vibe, but on weekends, it seems to be constantly packed with customers!

On Tuesdays and Fridays, I go out for lunch. Today, I had standing sushi for lunch since last time I did takeout. The man who made the sushi for me today was named Nakayama. Despite being far from the station, I asked him why he started a standing sushi restaurant. He said he wanted to offer good sushi at an affordable price by reducing costs. The restaurant was almost full during lunchtime. It seems like it's becoming more and more popular.

There is a standing sushi restaurant in Sasazuka. The traveling sushi chef, Hayakawa, opened the restaurant in October 2021. You can enjoy well-prepared sushi at reasonable prices. Hayakawa is also a sake sommelier, and his selection of Japanese sake is quite impressive. On Saturdays, there is a "20-piece sushi + all-you-can-drink course" for 12,000 yen (2-hour limit). For a private booking (10-15 people), the price is 10,000 yen, which is a bit of a deal. I visited with a group of 12 people. The restaurant is about a 10-minute walk from Sasazuka Station North Exit. It is located on the first floor of a building along Koshu Kaido. The interior has an L-shaped counter with 12 seats. The spacing between neighboring seats is a bit tight, but it encourages lively conversations with nearby diners. Since it is a standing restaurant, you have to stand for 2 hours, but with eating, drinking, and chatting, time flies by quickly, and it was enjoyable without feeling uncomfortable. The menu offers about 10, 15, and 20-piece courses. The sushi rice has a mild acidity and is slightly firm. The toppings are small in proportion to the rice, so they may be smaller or thinner. There are also beer and wine options, but the highlight is the excellent selection of Japanese sake. We started with a champagne toast with the all-you-can-drink option and then enjoyed various sake brands in small quantities. The Matsucourse (20 pieces) priced at 8,000 yen included a variety of sushi items. The review lists out the sushi items and the drink selection in detail.

On Saturdays, the 12,000 yen course includes all-you-can-drink, a soup dish, and 20 pieces of sushi. This time, I had about 5 servings of drinks and added my favorite crab and squid toppings, bringing the total to 13,000 yen. The atmosphere is great, and if this place were closer, I would definitely become a regular customer. I will definitely be going back.

I visited a stylish restaurant along the Koshu Highway after reading a magazine for adults on a weekday afternoon. When I arrived around 1:30 pm, the place was full and I had to wait for a while. The seating was only at the counter, but the atmosphere was lively with customers chatting with each other. The sushi was made by a young female chef, and there were two female staff members working as servers. Since it was my first visit, I ordered the "Chef's Choice 10-piece Sushi Course with Soup" for 2000 yen by scanning a QR code to place my order. The sushi was served in the following order: 1. Red Snapper 2. Red Shrimp 3. Grouper 4. Japanese Jack Mackerel 5. Black Rockfish 6. Lean Tuna 7. Mackerel 8. Dried Skate with Kelp 9. Striped Jack 10. Medium Fatty Tuna. The sushi was served at a good pace, so I was able to enjoy it without much waiting. My impression was that there were too many white fish varieties in the 10 pieces, which felt a bit unbalanced, and I didn't particularly enjoy the soup as it lacked ingredients. The service was good. Thank you for the meal.
