I went to Ningyocho Bonkura today. Since I was with a minor, I decided to take it easy. I started with a strawberry sour mega. The appetizers were minced lamb with cumin and sheep and chin soup, which were delicious as always. I also had duck prosciutto and celery non-mayo potato salad, homemade natto, and kumquat miso pickles. The Aomori horse sashimi was luxurious with corn, futaego, and marbled cuts. I switched to a ginger sour and tried the duck leg karaage for the first time, which was very delicious, although it didn't taste like duck. I also had Aomori horse and hibernating bear cooked in chunks, as good meat is best in chunks. The bear garlic rice was quite strong, so I took half of it home. I ended with a SUZE soda mix, and salted wild boar cooked rice with bamboo shoots. I love this cooked rice, but I decided to take it home this time.

"Beast meat and sake Bonkura / Ningyocho Price range: ¥9,000 3 minutes walk from Ningyocho Station ⭐️ Tabelog rating 3.24 A game meat restaurant in Ningyocho. There are many unusual types of game meat. Perhaps due to sourcing issues, the menu changes every time you visit. - Rare fried Ezo deer - Fried rabbit and eggplant - Rausu seal tartare - Grilled wild boar dumplings - Whale sashimi and a parade of specialty ingredients. You can try parts of the whale like gums and small intestines that you may have never eaten before. It's a popular restaurant that requires a reservation, so be sure to make one! Recommended for one person: ★☆☆ There is a counter, but it's better to go with multiple people to try various dishes. The assorted plate of Oirase vegetables with white sesame dressing, cumin sautéed beans, and Ezo deer rolls was absolutely delicious. It's a favorite spot that I want to recommend to my friends. I have been to this restaurant several times before the pandemic, and I wonder how they source their ingredients. Before COVID-19, the place was always bustling with people. However, while the appetizers were good, the dishes we ordered were all burnt. The fat had also been completely rendered out. It makes me wonder if they are not checking the taste before serving.

I made a reservation and arrived at 6:00 pm. It's a reliable restaurant that I have visited many times. I love this place because they use natural ingredients and offer natural Japanese sake. The menu included lamb and flying fish soup, tomato kimchi, whale bone, Oirase lettuce, fermented tofu with garlic, new onion and daikon pickles, garlic soy sauce pickled garlic, grilled corn, potato salad, komatsuna white and yellow, daikon kasuzuke, warabi pickles, five bean cumin stir-fry, raw garlic soy sauce pickled garlic, wild boar yamunsen, amanadachin cabbage stir-fry, and a selection of Oirase vegetables. I highly recommend ordering the Oirase vegetable assortment, and if you enjoy wild boar or deer, you might fall in love with the charm of this restaurant. It's a place I love and want to introduce to my friends, so I will give it a 5-star rating on Instagram. (For Tabelog, it would be 4 stars or above) Only restaurants that I have a personal attachment to, want to revisit, and share with friends will receive 5 stars on my IG account: taiwan_natural_you.

Unexpectedly, I visited for the second time in a short period. The highlight this time was the "Horse Liver and Duck Sashimi." The horse liver is so popular that it sells out quickly after arrival. The crunchy yet melting sensation on the tongue is an unforgettable texture and delicious! The wine selection is also great, and everything I ate was delicious. I will definitely go back again!

You can enjoy natural meat at this restaurant, located about a 5-minute walk from the intersection of Ningyocho. Reservations are required. They offer natural wines and sake made from live yeast. The vegetable appetizers sourced from Oirase by the owner from Aomori are excellent! The high satisfaction game meat is delicious without any unpleasant smell, and the jerk wild boar salad is also delicious with a gentle seasoning. It's a definite revisit spot for me. This is a favorite place that I want to introduce to my friends, so I will only post 5 stars on Instagram. Follow my IG: taiwan_natural_you

I used to go there often, but I haven't had the chance lately. They have a wide variety of menu options, including Ezo deer, seal, rabbit, bear, boar, and more. However, the frozen or fresh items may not always be available. All dishes are quite heavy on the sansho pepper and spices. The nutria had a strong smell and was a pass for me. I remember having a delicious nutria terrine at Passo a Passo without any unpleasant smell. The bear dish was a bit oily and had a slight strange taste. The three non-game appetizers were my favorite.

I visited Bonkura in Ningyocho, which is known for its game meat dishes. The restaurant is small with counter and table seats. They offer a variety of game meats such as wild boar, bear, pheasant, and lamb. The dishes I tried were all delicious and paired well with red wine. The freshness of the ingredients really stood out. Overall, it's a great restaurant worth trying to explore more of their menu.

I used it for a single dish and alcohol at night. The appetizers were very elaborate and delicious! We used it for two people, and it was nice that they served the dishes divided into two plates for easy eating. There was a wide variety of alcohol, including some rare ones, so I was very satisfied. I definitely want to go to this restaurant again next time!

It has gotten cold in Tokyo. I don't particularly like the lack of charm in the cold here. On nights like this, I'll slip under the noren of "Kemoniku to Sakabonkura" with a hot drink in hand. The cozy restaurant has a counter, a couple of tables, and is run by a married couple. The lineup of sake is just perfect for me. - Seasonal vegetable appetizer platter - Horse liver sashimi - Celery and bear stew - Horse steak - Wild boar sausage - Grilled rabbit - Duck oil and garlic pasta The carefully prepared meat has a rich and delicious flavor without any unpleasant smell. Paired with my favorite warm sake, I had a truly happy time. By the time I left, I was feeling warm and content. While not quite a beastly path, I took a stroll through the back alleys of the old town on my way home. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

They focus on game meat and have a wide selection of domestic wines and sake. They offer various dishes using game meat such as dumplings, gyoza, and sausages, with a lot of spicy options. They also incorporate seasonal vegetables into their dishes. Their assorted vegetable appetizers are interesting.

It was a completely unknown restaurant. I was accompanied by a friend who frequents this place. The restaurant seems to be a game meat izakaya. I hadn't had game meat much before, but it was surprisingly delicious. There are so many menu items that it's hard to choose. I want to try them all. The processed dishes and hot pot dishes are highly recommended over just grilled meat. The prices are reasonable, and if it were closer, I would definitely visit often. What surprised me the most was how quickly the food was served. The owner cooks alone, but being able to smoothly provide over 100 a la carte menu items is truly impressive. We talked about another restaurant in Kamakura, which is a French restaurant that only serves courses, but the food comes out incredibly slow there, which is a mystery considering the quality of the dishes. I realized there are still many great restaurants out there that I don't know about. I would like to visit again if I have the chance. Thank you for the meal.

A cozy izakaya run by a husband and wife. The small interior was clean and not too noisy, making it a relaxing place to spend time. The customers included two couples, a group of four young men, and two older gentlemen, surprisingly with more young people. We shared the following dishes: spicy pumpkin, deer soboro on rice cakes, burdock root potage, salad with Creston from Shirakami mountains, lamb sashimi style with Creston, rabbit-like chicken skewers, spicy deer meat rolls, raccoon dog oden with Creston, wild boar and cabbage stew, wild boar shumai with shiitake mushrooms, roast venison with Creston, and venison fried rice. The food was delicious, especially the deer meat dishes. We considered the 7000 yen course menu but ended up ordering a la carte, which was a good choice. We had a couple of drinks each and the bill came to around 14,000 yen for two people. We will definitely visit again!

Ulonghai (630), Yasuda (770), Todoyukke from Rausu (1070), Bear and Taro Gratin (1320), Bear's Red Wine Miso Offal Stew with Bread (1320). The cover charge includes two items for 660 yen. Chestnut tempura from Oe and homemade wild boar sausage with jalapeno cream croquette. The cover charge seemed high, but considering the quality, it's actually quite reasonable! Two carefully crafted dishes. Both freshly fried, which is delightful. The croquette has a creamy and rich cream sauce with the concentrated umami of wild boar sausage, and a mild yet wild and firm taste with a hint of jalapeno spiciness! You can eat the chestnut with the skin on! It's not too hard, with a crispy texture. It might be the first time I've eaten the skin of a chestnut. You can also enjoy the fragrant umami of the skin. This raised my expectations for the following dishes. The crispy fried intestines of the bear were sold out, which was a shame. I wanted to try that! The rock glass was filled to the brim. So happy! Ulonghai might be more cost-effective than shochu. - Todoyukke from Rausu, breast meat yukke. Todoyukke! Rare and unique! I ordered it solely based on its appearance, and it was the right choice! Does it have a whale-like taste? It's chewy, without any fishy smell, refreshing and easy to eat. It has some fat here and there, and when eaten with lean meat, the refreshing umami of the lean meat is enhanced by the richness and sweetness of the fatty meat, making it delicious! It's the best when you eat it with the runny yolk! - Red wine stew of bear. Goes really well with garlic toast! The chewy texture remains but it's easy to bite through. You can feel the refined richness that has been carefully simmered. You can enjoy the variety of parts and the taste and texture of each part. - Bear and Taro Gratin. It has a bear-like quality but is easy to eat. Not dry, but moist. The hot gratin is the best! They are open from 11pm to 1am, which is convenient. Akita's wild hare fried with a scent (770), New Toku's Takeda's lamb skewers (330), Saitama's rich quail charcoal-grilled (1070), etc. There are many tempting menu items! Depending on the day, some items may not be available, such as duck and lamb when I visited. The prices are a bit high, but there are rare animals and cuts available, so I recommend it to game lovers.

I had been interested in a tavern in Ningyocho that mainly serves game meat dishes. I made a reservation by phone and visited on a holiday night. The restaurant had a cozy atmosphere with dim lighting, perfect for adults. I started with a beer and enjoyed two appetizers, which were surprisingly high-quality - one was a taro and the other was blanched greens. Looking at the menu, I was intrigued by the variety of game meats available - bear, boar, deer, duck, whale, sheep, seal, and more. After much deliberation, I ordered the following dishes: - Miso-marinated chicken kinkan - Duck seared sashimi-style - A mix of wild mountain vegetables from Oirase - Boar meatballs - Bear and moon-shaped bear grilled over charcoal - Bear spice yakisoba - Mini curry with game meat All the dishes exceeded my expectations and were clearly well-prepared. The portions were not large, so I could try a variety of dishes, which was great. My favorite was probably the boar meatballs - the coarsely ground meat was crispy and full of wild flavors. The strong flavors of the dishes paired well with the drinks - they had a great selection of sours, wines, and sake. There are still many dishes on the menu that I want to try, and the menu changes frequently with the seasons. I need to visit more often!

I ordered the Duck Vindaloo Curry. Just like the previous curry, it was full of duck meat and very satisfying. It was refreshing and delicious. The price was a bit high for a regular lunch, but considering it was duck meat, it was understandable. I would like to go back if they have different curry options or other interesting menu items.

Many stores are closed on Sundays, and I was worried about finding a place for lunch. However, I saw an interesting curry menu posted outside a restaurant and decided to go in. The restaurant had both counter and table seating, but there were no customers, probably due to the current situation. I ordered curry with lamb and kabocha squash soup on the side. The curry was rich and more like European style, which was a nice change from the usual Indian or spicy curries I have. The highlight was definitely the meat - chunks of lamb that were different from what I usually eat but still delicious. I was happy to find a place that serves lunch even on Sundays, when options are limited in the area. I will definitely go back when in need of a good meal.

Today I went to this restaurant with a friend that I had been curious about for a while. The interior of the restaurant is a cozy space with a counter and table seating, bustling with the chef, the hostess, and regular customers. We ordered porcini mushroom potato salad, grilled quail, lamb meatballs, bear skewers, etc. We started with a toast with beer! The porcini mushroom potato salad seemed to be made by soaking dried porcini mushrooms and mixing them with potatoes for the salad. The taste was not well defined, and the texture of the porcini was a bit crunchy and strong. My friend seemed oblivious and was eating happily, so I left it to them. The grilled quail had very little meat with a lot of bones attached, which made it difficult to eat. My friend was munching on the bones, making me wonder if they were serious?! I left it to them. The bear skewers were dry and tough like beef jerky, and did not suit my taste. I felt really sorry, as the chef and hostess were very friendly and nice people. Overall, I think this is a great restaurant for those who enjoy wild game, alcohol, and conversation. Thank you for the meal.

This restaurant may not be for everyone, as there is a slight gamey smell in the air. However, they specialize in game meat such as bear, deer, duck, boar, and lamb. The quality of the dishes is very high, and they offer a variety of cooking methods. The sour cocktails are also of high quality, making it a potential popular spot in the future. I was recommended a restaurant that serves delicious game meat. It is located about a 3-minute walk from Ningyocho Station. The interior has a stylish izakaya atmosphere with a clean and date-worthy appearance. The menu is filled with various game meat dishes, so it may not be suitable for those who are not fans of game meat. - Lamb soup (appetizer) - Deer meat cutlet - Skewered white liver - Potato salad - Grilled duck meat - Bear meat tantanmen (noodles without soup) - Duck meat ramen The menu offers unique and distinctive dishes that maintain a hint of gaminess while being softened by the seasoning and cooking methods. You can enjoy a different kind of flavor compared to typical dishes like meat cutlets or tantanmen. However, some dishes like the lamb soup with a strong gamey taste may not be for everyone. At the counter, regular customers were seen enjoying conversations with the owner. This is the kind of place that some people will really enjoy.

Located on a street just off Amazake Yokocho, on the way from Hibiya Line Ningyocho Station to Hamacho Station on the Toei Shinjuku Line, is this place called "Bonkura." The exterior gives off a traditional Japanese restaurant vibe, while the interior is small with counter and table seating. It's a rare find in Ningyocho as it stays open until 3 am. I visited around 11:30 pm on a weekday and there were a few regular customers. They have a wide selection of sake and shochu. The menu consists only of game meat dishes, catering to those who love game meat. They offer bear, deer, quail, wild boar, horse, and more, all delivered fresh from the source. The horse sashimi left a lasting impression on me that day. There were tender, melt-in-your-mouth cuts and cuts with a chewy texture that oozed with flavor. There were a few other types as well, all of which were delicious. It's a genre that may divide opinions, but for those who enjoy it, this is a must-visit spot. Thank you for the wonderful meal.
