When I went back home, I bought souvenirs for my company. Adzuki bean mochi is popular but doesn't last long. I bought it first thing in the morning at Isetan Kyoto, but the expiration date was one day shorter than the ones I saw inside the Shinkansen ticket gate during the day. I planned to distribute them on Monday, but the expiration date is until Tuesday. I have to tell them to eat it right away!! I bought a pack of 40, put it in a huge backpack along with the goods for a two-night, three-day trip back home. Even though I definitely carry less luggage than the average lady (I don't carry a makeup pouch on weekdays, just let it stay messed up), the load was still incredibly heavy. And then, I bought a lot of 551 for my husband (fried rice bento, 6 pork buns, 10 shumai, 3 packs of meatballs - all to be frozen at your own risk). Including other souvenirs and stuff for myself, the total weight was quite heavy. Adzuki bean mochi, it's irresistible. Mochi with sweet red bean paste!! Speaking of Kyoto, Adzuki bean mochi! The matcha Langues de Chat from Maître Blanche is also very popular. Well, Kyoto has too many specialties!! Kyoto souvenirs are so annoying. Nara, do your best too!! I always think of bringing back Nara's specialties when I go back, but they always end up being Kyoto specialties. Because, Nara's specialties like persimmon leaf sushi just can't be turned into souvenirs. Adzuki bean mochi sells like hotcakes. The super quick handiwork of the 551 staff is something I could never do, but selling Adzuki bean mochi is also impossible. Standing in line like that, with everyone buying in bulk, it's impossible, impossible, impossible, impossible (゚Д゚) By the way, carrying this pack of 40 back home and then to the office on Monday is too tiring, so I got off at Tokyo Station from Kyoto and brought it to the office. From Tokyo Station to the office, the luggage was too heavy, and I almost collapsed...
