It was a tea shop with a hundred famous stores that I had been curious about. Thanks to Mairevi's post, I went to try the "Tennoya Special French Toast". It was just before noon on a holiday. There were no customers in the store. Within 10 minutes, it was full, so maybe it was good timing? The exterior and interior of the store had a clean and elegant Japanese atmosphere. There was even a tatami seating area. The background music of the koto was playing, creating a calming atmosphere. I ordered: - French Toast 1,000 yen - Natto Zosui (rice porridge) 1,300 yen - Fresh Orange Juice 600 yen The French toast had a crispy surface and a fluffy interior. It was generously sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon. The sweetness of the bread spread in my mouth as I chewed, and it was delicious. Although each piece was thick, it was light, so I could eat it quickly. The remaining cinnamon on the plate was also delicious, so I finished it all! There were 5 types of zosui, and I ordered the natto zosui. It had a strong flavor of kombu and bonito dashi, but it was also gentle and comforting. Each natto bean had a distinct soybean flavor. The fluffy egg, Kujo green onions, and grapefruit pepper added an elegant touch. For bread orders, you need to order one drink, so I chose the fresh orange juice. It was made on the spot and was sweet and delicious with a high sugar content and no acidity. Everything was so delicious, and I was very satisfied! Next time, I want to try the egg sandwich and the azuki bean toast. The service was polite, and the cozy atmosphere made it a delightful lunchtime. (*˘︶˘*).。*♡

I had tried this egg sandwich before, maybe at a department store or somewhere, and I always wanted to try it hot. The restaurant had a very calming Japanese-style interior, and the thing that surprised me the most was the wide variety of menu options. They had light meals like porridge and lunch options, as well as a rich selection of sweets which was surprising! I read in a review that the egg sandwich makes the omelette run away, and now I understand what that means. The occasional hint of spicy mustard adds a nice change in flavor. The sandwich is fluffy and light, and I couldn't stop eating it. I was wondering if I could finish it all, but it was gone in no time. I had planned to have some sweets after the egg sandwich, but I had eaten a lot of traditional Japanese sweets last week, so I decided to save it for next time. You need to order at least one drink per person in the restaurant.

Today, on a national holiday, I made a reservation yesterday and got a takeout of egg sandwich for 1,140 yen and red bean toast for 1,100 yen. Both prices were without tax, so maybe there was an 8% surcharge for takeout. The egg sandwich had fluffy bread and the egg with dashi and mustard had a nice spicy kick to it, creating a delicious combination of fluffy, juicy, and spicy flavors. It came in a pack of 12, and they were so tasty that I couldn't stop eating them. The red bean toast had a buttery red bean paste that paired well with the toast, but I could tell that it would be much tastier when freshly made rather than as a takeout. I chose takeout because I heard there were delays in serving dine-in customers, but I would definitely like to try eating at the restaurant if I have the chance.

I entered the store as soon as it opened, but it took about an hour to get our order, probably because it was a Saturday. The takeout egg sandwich was stacked up, making us wonder if we were being made to wait for this order. It was tiring to wait. It seems that ordering a drink is a must... well, it's Azabu after all. We ordered the egg sandwich, French toast, coffee, and milkshake. Despite the wait, the egg sandwich was amazing! It was surprisingly fluffy and melted in the mouth. The broth was flavorful and paired perfectly with the spicy mayo. It was a bit spicy, making my tongue tingle and nose sting. But since it's a rolled omelette, it takes time. The egg was so soft that it slid easily from the bread to my mouth. The French toast had plenty of cinnamon, and the bread was fluffy and crispy. However, I prefer it when the liquid soaks through the bread and you can pour lots of syrup on top, so there might be a slight gap in my expectations. The milkshake was light. The coffee cup and sugar jar were really cute. Perfect for a date.

I visited around 3 pm and had to wait for about 20 minutes as there were 3 groups ahead of me. I ordered warabi mochi and iced tea. The warabi mochi took about 15 minutes to be served as it was mentioned it would take some time. The kinako wasn't too sweet, which was nice! The warabi mochi was quite large in size and had a soft, gooey texture with just the right amount of sweetness from the kinako. I also noticed the tamago sandwich and will try it next time!

On a regular day around 12:05, I visited the restaurant alone. There was one group of customers before me. After that, three people came to pick up their reserved egg sandwiches. Two more individuals came in and ordered egg sandwiches and hot coffee right away. The hot coffee arrived after a while, served in a cute cup. I admired the cup before enjoying the coffee. About 20 minutes later, the egg sandwiches arrived. Just like the souffle pancakes, I imagined it took time to cook the eggs. When I tried to grab the sandwich, I noticed that both the bread and the egg were soft! It had to be eaten in one bite to prevent it from falling apart. It was like eating a piece of sushi, a quick and easy bite. The tangy spiciness of the wasabi lingered in my nose. Each bite was fluffy, gooey, and a little spicy. It was enjoyable and delicious! I could see myself getting addicted to it. I'm curious about the French toast and the sweet red bean toast, but I would probably order the egg sandwich again if I come back. The staff, who served me alone, left a good impression. By the way, they only accept cash payments. I left the restaurant very satisfied! Thank you for the meal♪

I revisited "Tennoya," which was selected as one of the top 100 cafes in the 2022 Tabelog ranking. The location is in Minato-ku, Tokyo. It's about a 7-minute walk from Azabu-Juban Station on the Namboku Line. Upon entering through the small traditional Japanese door, I found the place to be cozy and filled with customers even in the evening. Perhaps it's because they also serve alcohol? This time, I tried the following items: - Small Red Bean Toast: The toast, with a hint of butter, is filled with plenty of Tamba Dainagon red beans. The balance of saltiness and sweetness is exquisite, and the texture of the red beans is delightful. - Tamagoyaki: A fluffy version of the famous "Tamago Sand" without the sandwich part. It looks softer than the sandwich version, and there is plenty of dashi broth underneath. It's softer than the sandwich version and has a gentle, comforting taste with a Kansai-style touch. Thank you for the meal.

After finishing some errands, I went to a bakery in Roppongi, only to find out that it was closed. I tried another restaurant nearby, but it was also closed. What a day! I couldn't seem to get the timing right. Finally, I went to Tennoya on a weekday afternoon. The air conditioning was too strong inside, making it cool when I entered but too cold once the sweat dried. The place was full, so I had to wait for a while. Eventually, I was seated and ordered the egg sandwich I was craving. I had to order a drink as well, so I chose iced coffee. The egg in the sandwich was so soft and jiggly that I didn't know how to hold it properly. The trick is to hold it carefully like sushi, I guess! The portion of the egg sandwich was quite large, enough to share between two people. It was delicious, with the egg being soft and slightly spicy from the mustard. However, it was a bit too much for one person. Just a heads up for those planning to visit! Thank you for the meal!

I purchased the Dashi-maki Tamago Sandwich from Tennoya at the Dai Nagoya Building B1 in Nagoya. It comes with a special mustard mayonnaise sauce and a Kansai-style dashi-filled fluffy omelette sandwich. They offer a regular size and a half size, and I bought the half size which was satisfying for lunch. It is handmade with no additives and they have limited quantities, so they may sell out by midday. I was lucky to be able to purchase it this time.

[Shop] Tennoya [Location] Tokyo / Azabu-Juban Station [Order] ◇ Egg Sandwich ◇ French Toast ◇ Red Bean Toast [Review] ◇ Egg Sandwich: A refined egg sandwich with a subtle dashi flavor. The mustard mayonnaise adds a sophisticated touch, making it an adult-like egg sandwich. ◇ French Toast: Crispy and fluffy French toast. It has a crunchy texture like fried bread. Plenty of cinnamon. ◇ Red Bean Toast: Plenty of red beans and butter. A dish with a balance of sweetness and saltiness. [Other] I visited around 2 pm on Saturday. Fortunately, there was no line at that time, but it started to form later on. If you visit on a Saturday afternoon, be prepared to wait in line.

I wanted to eat something sweet in Azabu-Juban and found this shop. I made a reservation for the evening, and they mentioned that if I already knew what kind of okonomiyaki I wanted to order, I could let them know in advance. It seems that they provide such a service because it takes some time for the dish to be ready. I was surprised to learn that their okonomiyaki has won the Michelin Bib Gourmand award in the Japanese okonomiyaki category for 8 consecutive years. I love okonomiyaki, so I was really looking forward to it! First of all, I was amazed by the thickness of the okonomiyaki! Especially the one with chrysanthemum, the thickness and visual appearance really overwhelmed me, and I was like, "Wow!" The texture was so soft and fluffy that I couldn't stop eating, and before I knew it, my stomach was full. I want to eat this kind of okonomiyaki at least once a week.

I had been curious about this restaurant for a while. I decided to visit it during the Azabu-Juban Matsuri. Despite being a popular spot, the interior was very calm and relaxing, allowing me to spend a leisurely time there. And the highly anticipated tamago sandwich...! The egg was so soft and creamy. The mustard mayonnaise was just right, making it incredibly delicious. And all of this at such an affordable price. I definitely want to try the custard toast next time.

During my walking and patrol, it was so damn hot that I took a break at my favorite shop (lol). This time, I ordered a coffee with a small toast. It's delicious, but quite sweet. I felt the same about the warabi mochi and French toast too, they're all a bit too sweet for me.

After work, I visited Tennoya with a friend. We made a reservation in advance for their famous dishes (egg sandwich, negiyaki, warabimochi). When we arrived at 7:30 pm, we were promptly seated at our designated table. The restaurant was busy with all four other tables occupied. We started by ordering drinks - I had a lemon squash and my friend had a lemon sour. The lemon squash was delicious, with a refreshing citrus flavor. Mixing in the honey provided added a nice touch of sweetness. We waited for about an hour and a half for our food, which made us a bit worried (since we had work the next day...). Finally, the egg sandwich and negiyaki arrived. The egg sandwich was perfect, with warm, soft egg and bread. The negiyaki had a crispy texture and a strong flavor of Kyoto Kujo green onions. It was worth the long wait. Lastly, the warabimochi arrived promptly. It was smooth, sweet, and generously topped with kinako powder. It was a great way to end a delicious dinner. A few days later, I visited the restaurant alone during the day. This time, I ordered French toast and a fresh mixed juice. Similar to the lemon squash, the mixed juice was fresh and full of pulp. The French toast was also delicious, with a hot, crispy texture and a rich cinnamon flavor. Although the cooking time was long again, I didn't mind as I wasn't in a rush and there was no line. I realized that Tennoya is not a typical cafe or coffee shop where you quickly grab a drink and leave. It is a place where you can truly relax and take your time. This realization changed my opinion of the restaurant, and I will definitely return when I want to unwind and have a leisurely chat with friends in that special "relaxing place."

Thank you for viewing. I visited the award-winning café "Tennoya," one of the top 100 cafes in the 2022 Eatlog. It is located a 2-minute walk from Azabu-Juban Station Exit 1, in a quiet area. Established in 1932 in Osaka, "Tennoya" is a sweets shop that focuses on ingredients such as Tanba Adzuki beans and agar. It relocated to Azabu-Juban, Minato-ku in 2003 and has been selected for the Michelin Bib Gourmand for 8 consecutive years since 2015. The menu I had that day included "Chilled Shiroan Soup," made with 100% Tanba Adzuki beans, perfect for hot days with a sweet and salty taste. "Matcha Milk" was also chilled, with a smooth texture from the combination of matcha and milk. The "Tamago Sandwich," made with a delicate touch, has a refined taste and texture with a hint of mustard mayonnaise. The fluffy omelette seems like it might spill out of the bread. I look forward to trying another dessert on my next visit. Thank you for the meal.

It was quite popular with tourists and the restaurant was full. I had to wait a bit before being seated. Originally opened in Osaka, it has been relocated to Tokyo for several decades now. The French toast and red bean paste toast are said to be delicious, but I was already full so I only had an iced coffee. It didn't come pre-chilled, but was brewed after I ordered. It was a proper coffee, not like the paper bag commercial coffee. Thank you for the meal. I would like to go back to try the food menu next time.

I was so curious about the Amba Toast, but the French Toast, Egg Sandwich, and Negi Chijimi looked too delicious, so I ended up getting the Amba Butter as a souvenir. The French Toast was insanely delicious. I couldn't stop eating the Chijimi even though I kept saying "no more." After eating too much, I went for a walk at the Red Brick Warehouse to relax my stomach and eyes. It was a great start to the Obon holiday for me.

I had been wanting to try the famous Tamago Sand from Tenno no Tamago for a while, so I decided to go during my summer vacation. I had made a reservation for a takeout order in advance as a snack for when friends came over in the evening. The shop is located just a one-minute walk from Azabu-Juban Station Exit 1. I arrived at 12 o'clock and was the first customer. I was looking forward to not only picking up my takeout order, but also having the Tamago Sand as my lunch and trying some sweets. I waited for 30 minutes for the Tamago Sand to be ready. When it arrived, it was hot. It must have been freshly made because even the sandwich was hot to touch. The inside was a bit slippery, making it a bit difficult to handle. After figuring out how to eat it, I found the spicy mayonnaise to be delicious. The tamagoyaki inside had a strong dashi flavor. There were 12 pieces in total, each small but filling. After finishing the Tamago Sand, I decided to order a sweet, choosing the Isoyaki because I like mochi. This also took 30 minutes to be ready. The taste was great. I also had the takeout Tamago Sand for dinner, and I found that it tasted better when it had cooled down. If you pre-order, you won't have to wait. Overall, it was delicious and reasonably priced. I will definitely come back, maybe next time for a takeout drinking session!

Visited on August 5, 2023. I had work in Azabu-Juban and decided to stop by on my way back since there didn't seem to be a line. It was around 3 pm. There was one group waiting inside, but I was seated fairly quickly. The restaurant had only 5 tables. When you think of Tennoya, you think of their famous egg sandwich, so I had to try that. I also wanted to try the sweet treat made with rare Tanba Dainagon adzuki beans. I ended up ordering the following: Egg Sandwich - 1,140 yen, Ogura Cream Shiratama - 1,100 yen, Iced Cafe au Lait - 700 yen. I was served the Iced Cafe au Lait first, made with homemade syrup using wasanbon sugar. The egg sandwich, cut into bite-sized pieces, was incredibly fluffy and soft, but surprisingly had a spicy kick from the mustard that lingered in the sinuses. It seems to be made with mustard mayonnaise and dashi. The unique flavor made me finish it in no time. Definitely a must-try egg sandwich. The Ogura Cream Shiratama, made with the rare Tanba Dainagon adzuki beans, offered a delightful fusion of the soft adzuki beans, ice cream, and shiratama. Special thanks to the female staff who handled the service and payment all by herself. Thank you!

It's so hot, but during my walking and patrol, I stopped by a store and tried the kanten (agar jelly) and warabi mochi that I was curious about. The kanten made with natural agar was delicious, but a bit too sweet for my taste. The freshly made warabi mochi was incredibly soft and delicious, although there was a bit too much kinako (roasted soybean flour) on it (lol). Thank you for the delicious treats.

I had a Tamago Sand at Tennoyas. I visited around 2:30 PM and there were 2 groups of customers. I ordered a Tamago Sand for 1140 yen and an Ice Milk for 500 yen. I enjoyed them in a Japanese-style setting. The Tamago Sand was made with dashimaki tamago seasoned with karashi mayo, and it was truly delicious, as recognized by Michelin. It was warm and tasty as it was freshly made! Next time, I would like to try their zosui or desserts. If you're interested, please give it a try!
