Hankyu Juusann Station's famous restaurant "Negiyaki Yamamoto". It is ranked among the top 100 okonomiyaki restaurants each year, with a rating of 3.53 on Tabelog. I arrived 5 minutes before the opening at 11:30 am on a weekday, and there were already 10 people waiting on the west side of the station. They took my order while I was waiting. The restaurant has a counter with 17 seats, and I was assigned a seat. There are shelves under the counter and hooks on the wall. I ordered the "Sujinegiyaki" for 1330 yen including tax, and they only accept cash payments. The negiyaki was cooked on the central iron plate, and it took about 15 minutes for it to be served. The aroma of soy sauce and lemon was appetizing. The batter was soft and fluffy, filled with plenty of green onions. The flavor of the dashi and soy sauce was rich and delicious. Despite the heat, the air conditioning was working well, and eating the negiyaki while sweating made it even more enjoyable. The addition of suji (beef tendon) added a nice touch to the dish. The majority of customers were women, and the negiyaki seemed to be the most popular choice, probably because it is considered healthy. I noticed a couple who shared their negiyaki and okonomiyaki, which made me crave for the okonomiyaki with sauce and mayonnaise. By noon, the restaurant was full, with only 4 waiting seats available. As the first round of customers started leaving around that time, the turnover seemed to be good. If you are interested in this restaurant, please save it based on this review.

I visited this restaurant for lunch during my trip to Osaka. I arrived around 12 o'clock on Monday and the restaurant was full, with about 8 people waiting outside. I placed my order while waiting in line, and was seated in about 15 minutes. The yakisoba I ordered was ready shortly after I sat down, and I was very satisfied with the delicious suji negi that came afterwards. The retro atmosphere of the restaurant, along with the retro glasses, added to the overall experience and made me feel even more delighted.

I went to this famous restaurant and I have to say, it was one of the worst I've been to in the past 10 years. I wouldn't call it famous in Osaka. I hesitated to post this, but the taste was lacking and I'm sorry to say it was disappointing.

I wanted to eat some flour-based dishes around Hankyu Jusangai Station, so I decided to visit this restaurant for the first time. I indulged a bit and ordered the Deluxe Negi (green onion pancake). The negi-yaki that came out was fluffy on the outside, crispy on the inside, and had a rich flavor. It was very delicious. It goes well with draft beer. The glasses for water and beer are very cute. I thought I'd like to have one at home.

I have considered visiting this place many times in the past, but never had the opportunity to go to Juso until now. In conclusion, it was the most delicious flour-based dish I have ever eaten. I ordered the negi for the first time. I had imagined it as a version of okonomiyaki with cabbage replaced by leeks and sauce changed to soy sauce, but when I actually tasted it, it exceeded my expectations in terms of flavor. The batter was really fluffy, the taste was rich but not overpowering, and I could taste the ingredients well, finishing it in no time. If you come here for sightseeing, I think you should make time for it in your itinerary to avoid any regrets. I rarely give such high praise.

I felt like eating Yamamoto's negiyaki after a long time, so I visited the restaurant. I arrived at 11:00, 30 minutes before the 11:30 opening time, and there was only one person waiting. But more people started to arrive, and in the end, those who arrived right at the opening time couldn't get in on the first round, so if you want to eat for sure at noon, it might be better to go to the restaurant before the opening time. Although there are branches in Umeda and Shin-Osaka stations recently, I still feel that the main store is the most delicious! After eating the classic suji negiyaki, I still had a little room in my stomach, so I ordered tonpei. It was also delicious with a sauce mayonnaise flavor different from the soy sauce flavor of the negiyaki! If you go to Yamamoto, I recommend the Juso main store!

Today, I visited the famous Negiyaki Yamamoto Honten, known for its negiyaki (green onion pancake). When I arrived at the restaurant around 2 pm, there were about 15 people waiting in line. There was no reservation list outside the shop, and not everyone was lining up properly. I was a bit confused about what to do, but then a staff member came out and reminded everyone to line up properly. The staff member knew the order of everyone in line, so there were no disputes over who should go next. I placed my order first and got the most popular dish, the suji negiyaki. I waited outside for a while, and after about 10 minutes, I was allowed inside and stood behind the counter waiting. I think I ended up waiting for about 20 minutes in total. The inside of the restaurant had a counter surrounding the open kitchen. When I was seated at the counter, the suji negiyaki that I ordered arrived promptly. The negiyaki was brushed with soy sauce. When I took a bite, I could taste the flavorful dashi in the batter, and it was really delicious. The suji (beef tendon) and konnyaku (yam cake) were cooked in a sweet and savory sauce, and they were also very tasty. While okonomiyaki is delicious, the negiyaki was also really good. However, it was a bit pricey at 1,330 yen, and I couldn't help but wish it was around 900 yen instead. The negiyaki was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

On August 25, 2023 (Friday), I had the following dishes: - Negiyaki (Green Onion Pancake with Pork) for ¥1,100 (tax included) - Teppanyaki Tonpei (Grilled Pork on Iron Plate) for ¥760 (tax included) "Negiyaki" Story: "Negiyaki" was born around the 1960s by the Yodo River in Juso. The newly established "Okonomiyaki Yamamoto" was a small restaurant run by the owner, Takahide Yamamoto, with children helping out after school. Takahide, as a meal for the growing children who helped at the store every day, made an okonomiyaki with various ideas based on the "One Sen Western Food" he ate when he was young, and served it in a corner of the counter. Gradually, discerning customers began to request, "That looks delicious," "I want that too!" Three years later, the "Negiyaki" with plenty of green onions was named and added to the menu. About fifty years later... thanks to everyone's support, Yamamoto's "Negiyaki" has now become a "Osaka taste" that many customers can enjoy. On February 20, 2018 (Tuesday), I had: - Negiyaki with plenty of green onions, fluffy and cooked with special soy sauce and lemon. Sujinegi (Beef & Pork) for ¥1,190. - Cola for ¥230. I visited in the early afternoon on a regular day and found the restaurant to be full, showing its great popularity. I had the beef and green onion dish as well as the seafood deluxe. Unlike the store in Shin-Osaka Station, this location had a wide variety of menu options, and the taste was delicious, possibly enhanced by the teppanyaki grill right in front of me.

The prices were a bit high for Tenma, but it's a famous spot after all! Representing Osaka, this restaurant serves delicious negiyaki (green onion pancakes) cooked on a hot iron plate right in front of you. Yamamoto, famous for its negiyaki, has a unique counter seating arrangement surrounding a central teppan grill. On this visit with a friend, we ordered negiyaki (with leeks), okonomiyaki (deluxe), yakisoba, and 2 beers. Watching the process of making the negiyaki was enjoyable, with a large amount of leeks used. The okonomiyaki was skillfully cooked and served in just a few minutes. The negiyaki had thinly sliced leeks on a light, flavorful batter, topped with more batter, cooked thoroughly on both sides, brushed with original soy sauce, a squeeze of lemon, and it was ready! The okonomiyaki was also cooked perfectly, and the server kindly split the portions for us. The negiyaki was delicious with the savory soy sauce and crispy leeks. The okonomiyaki was fluffy and tasty, although I personally didn't like the okonomiyaki sauce, which had a strong sourness and an overpowering smell. We decided to try the yakisoba, which was cooked on the back grill and surprisingly delicious with the same sauce as the okonomiyaki. Overall, the negiyaki was the clear winner, and I look forward to trying different toppings on it next time I visit, whether at the main store or a branch. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Ordered leek and yakisoba. Watched as it was cooked right in front of me. They added a surprisingly large amount of leeks. It was mostly leeks with a little bit of noodles. The leeks became sweet as they cooked, and the noodles were fluffy and moist. Occasionally there were bits of pork and konjac as accents. This was definitely delicious. The atmosphere was also great.

A few years ago, when I went to Osaka, I happened to visit Yamatomo on their regular holiday. I lined up before the opening and got a seat at the counter to watch them cook. They use soy sauce instead of sauce. The suji kon (beef sinew) was also delicious. Their okonomiyaki is different from the usual, but very tasty!

I stayed at a hotel for 13 nights, so I couldn't miss out on Yamamoto's negiyaki. Feeling a bit intimidated, I ended up coming here after a long time. It was a scorching hot Saturday at noon with a 35-degree temperature, and there were five people waiting. While waiting, I ordered the negiyaki with beef tendon. The counter had a U-shape with 17 seats. Yamamoto's negiyaki is not the typical mixed style where the ingredients are mixed into the batter, but rather a style where the batter is cooked first, then the toppings are layered on top. The batter is cooked thinly in a circle, then topped with bonito flakes, green onions, pickled ginger, and finally meat or seafood. The batter is then folded over the toppings and cooked thoroughly on both sides. It is served on a hot iron plate and drizzled with soy sauce and lemon juice. The texture is fluffy and delicious. The layered cooking style is typical of Hiroshima, but the fluffy texture is truly Osaka-style. The combination of soy sauce, lemon, and the dish itself is really tasty. There is a branch in Shin-Osaka Station, but it's a different experience, so make sure to visit the original store. Ahh, so delicious!

I have been to Umeda before, but this was my first time visiting the main store. I usually think of okonomiyaki as something you eat at home, but negiyaki is a different story. The classic with beef tendon was really good. It was quite filling, and with half of a tonpei-yaki and one piece of negiyaki, I was already very full.

As expected of a famous restaurant, it was packed even on a Monday night. After waiting for a while, we were finally seated. The amount of green onions was less compared to before, likely due to the increase in flour prices over the past 20 years, but the taste was still delicious. This is the representative green onion pancake of Osaka.

After finishing at the gym, I visited with a friend! The area near the red-light district is not known for its safety, but even in the early afternoon, there was quite a line. We ordered beef negiyaki and tonpeiyaki! The tonpeiyaki had a lemon-like acidity, the umami of the dough, and the umami of the meat, making it extremely delicious! I had actually been to Yamamoto in Umeda before, but this experience completely changed my memory of it, with an overwhelming feeling of being a great accompaniment to alcohol haha. Since it was gym day for me, I didn't drink alcohol, but everyone else was drinking and getting drunk from noon. This is the true essence of Osaka's downtown! Of course, it was incredibly delicious, so if you're unsure whether to go, I definitely recommend going! Personally, I thought the tonpeiyaki was the most delicious. I went to the Hanshin Racecourse to watch the Takarazuka Kinen, then took the Hankyu train from Incheon Station to Juso Station. From there, I headed to a place where I had my first amazing experience with Negiyaki over 10 years ago. It is now a famous okonomiyaki restaurant. What I had that day was the Deluxe Negi and a draft beer. The Deluxe Negi is a Negiyaki topped with pork, beef, and squid, cooked skillfully by the staff on a hot plate. It was delicious as always. I know there is a branch near Shin-Osaka Station, but nothing beats eating at the original store. I arrived just before 5 pm on a Sunday and by the time I left, there was a long line forming outside the restaurant. I must have picked the perfect timing to avoid the crowd.

Arriving before 9:00 pm the day before, I saw a sign in front of the store saying it was closing for the day, and it started to rain lightly. The staff who were trying to attract customers around the store told me that they usually close earlier than the closing time, sometimes even in the 8:00 pm range on Sundays. I wish they would put up a sign saying that dinner is served until sold out. This time, I happened to stay at a nearby inn. After finishing my morning errands, I decided to change my plans and go for lunch instead of dinner. I arrived 10 minutes before the 11:30 am opening time, and there were only about 2 people in line, so I went to the convenience store and when I returned, the line had grown significantly! I messed up! But there was a teppan grill at the counter, and customers who had ordered negiyaki were eating quietly, so the second round of orders started quickly. I waited for about 20 minutes. The second round was served promptly, with omusoba and negiyaki. I paired it with a bottle of Super Dry beer and it was delicious! By the way, taking photos of the food is allowed inside the restaurant, but please refrain from taking pictures of other things.
