I tried the sushi bar hopping for the first time... After Sushikatsu, I added some Hosomaki that were not available at Sushikatsu. For the finale, I had to have the Hosomaki that I really wanted to eat. The mackerel that was sold out at Sushikatsu. Yes, this is it, the Kappamaki for the finale. It's delicious. The mackerel was so salty, almost like prosciutto? It was different. I have been here 3 or 4 times, and I like this place where you can enjoy sushi and drinks casually with straightforward billing.

Sushi Chaya Momotaro Otsuka branch is located about a 5-minute walk from Otsuka Station North Exit on the JR Yamanote Line. Before the pandemic, this was a restaurant that I would visit occasionally, but this is my first time posting a review. I started with various appetizers such as sashimi, Nishikyo-yaki, and tempura. The sashimi is fresh and generously cut, so it's quite substantial. The tempura is crispy and delicious, freshly fried. I also ordered nigiri sushi with tuna as a finale, and it was also very tasty. My favorite is definitely the green onion - some might say it's like eating grass, but it's really delicious. I also ordered plenty of rolls!

These days, it feels awkward to leisurely go drinking at a sushi restaurant. However, when you sit at the counter and communicate your preferences, the dishes come smoothly. The cost performance is good too. Before you know it, the drinks start flowing and you can have a fun and enjoyable time. This is the kind of place that would come in handy if it were nearby. I hope I can have a good time drinking there again in the future.

I went shopping in Ikebukuro to buy daily necessities for staying at home, and on the way back, decided to have some sushi. Even on a Sunday, I was happy to find a place open. The drinks were strong, which was great for a sake lover like me. The snacks and sushi were reasonably priced and delicious. Overall, it was a satisfying experience.

End-of-year greetings for 2019. I didn't have many opportunities to use this place this year, but it has been a great help late at night. Today is tuna sushi day as a special treat. I don't usually eat tuna sushi, but since it's a special occasion, I'll have plenty today. Starting with a salad before the sushi, enjoying simmered dishes and fried foods, savoring some sake, and relaxing with a pickled vegetable assortment before diving into the sushi. Watching the sushi being made right in front of you is truly delicious, and it's a moment where you feel like you've come to eat sushi. My favorite sushi place in Susukino closed this year, so I've been keeping my distance from sushi for a while, but as winter approaches, I start to crave seafood. Sushi is like a drink to me. I'll be careful not to drink too much and head home in moderation. Thank you for the meal.

There are different services available by day of the week, and Tuesdays are the day when sushi with shiny ingredients is cheap! I love shiny things, so I'm happy~ You write your order on paper and hand it to the staff, so even people who are not comfortable with non-conveyor belt sushi restaurants can enjoy it casually. It's a reasonable and down-to-earth restaurant.

I used to often take out food from this place on my way home. I've eaten in the restaurant a few times, but I mostly do takeout. The interior is very clean and has a high-end atmosphere! It's not really my style, haha. It seems like a place where you could entertain clients. The appearance is very well done and the taste is delicious! I tried the negitoro, engawa, salmon, and other sushi rolls, and they were all delicious! The engawa wasn't watery and had a nice texture, very tasty.

After crossing into the next day past midnight with a growling stomach, I walked through the shuttered shopping street and spotted a single light. It was a late-night oasis. Since eating carbohydrates on an empty stomach can cause a spike in blood sugar levels, I started with a salad W, nagaimo somen, and chawanmushi, along with a lemon sour. I then had some fried food, followed by a sushi platter with additional lemon sours and highballs to wash it down. To finish off, I added some surf clam sashimi to the remaining highball and enjoyed a clam miso soup. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Otsuka Jimoti Mitsuishi visited the familiar sushi restaurant Momotaro Otsuka branch with his eating friend. Sitting at the counter, they had a lively conversation with the skilled chef and asked for recommendations. They were told that on Sundays, the tuna is cheaper, so they ordered some deliciously aged tuna, ikura gunkan, anago nigiri, tai nigiri with citrus juice and salt, and finished off with kanpyo and natto rolls and tamagoyaki. It was a delicious way to end the meal, and they left satisfied before moving on to their next meal.

The sushi here is small and elegant. It may not be the best choice for those looking for a hearty meal, but it's perfect for enjoying a variety of small dishes and drinks while nibbling on your favorite sushi. The teamwork between the sushi chef, kitchen staff, and servers is excellent. They always know the perfect timing to clear plates, serve fried foods, refill drinks, etc. The quality of the sushi varies - the fatty tuna, medium tuna, shellfish, salmon roe, and sweet shrimp are generally fresh and reliable. However, the horse mackerel, flounder fin, and salmon can be inconsistent depending on the day's supply. Sometimes, the rice can be a bit salty. There are also many customers who enjoy unique combinations, so if you want to relax and enjoy your meal, I recommend sitting at a table.

Not only do they serve delicious sushi, but also side dishes like tempura, which you can enjoy until late hours. What's great is that they offer discounted tuna on Sundays, including lean tuna, medium fatty tuna, and fatty tuna. To start off, I had a comparison of fresh and boiled firefly squid with some sake. Despite being a sushi restaurant, they also offer roast beef, salad, new potato butter, fried shishamo, and squid innards tempura, followed by a clam soup. Time for some sushi now!
