It was my second visit in two years. I knew that the chef had changed, but it was still excellent as always. The dishes were great, but the pairing with the expertly considered wines by Mr. Nishibetsuto was outstanding... I was truly satisfied.

I went to Mikuri, a wine and Japanese cuisine restaurant located right in front of The Ritz-Carlton Kyoto. The best deal is to go for the pairing that matches the dishes, allowing you to enjoy the food and wine to the fullest. The restaurant has a counter on the first floor and table seats on the second floor. It tends to get fully booked from Friday to Sunday, so I recommend visiting on weekdays.

I was invited by my senior to Kyoto and treated to a feast. Despite the lingering self-restraint mood due to the ongoing pandemic, the owner and sommelier were very friendly. They mentioned that they only serve one rotation a day with about five people. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. I will definitely visit again when I come to Kyoto. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

Mikaku-san. I've known about this restaurant for a while, but it's quite difficult to make a reservation. I happened to get one this time, so we had a late meal. We opted for the pairing with Japanese cuisine and wine. The appetizers were delicious, with fried and grilled dishes like grilled squid and corn being particularly tasty. The aged sashimi was also very delicious, and the beef cutlet with sansho soy sauce was amazing. The octopus and shishito pepper rice was also delicious. As expected, everything was great. I forgot a bit about the wine, but here's the label. The sommelier is very famous, but he was friendly and talked to us. It was incredibly delicious! 🌟

I was interested in "Mikuri" where delicate and beautiful dishes by a famous Japanese cuisine chef and pairing of Japanese cuisine and wine by a renowned sommelier in Kyoto. It was enjoyable to receive various advice such as pairing white wine with sea bream and red wine with horse mackerel for sashimi. The gentle and calm atmosphere created by the two people made it a cozy space. It was a great restaurant that I definitely want to visit again.

I enjoyed a Japanese cuisine and wine pairing at a restaurant my friend wanted to visit. Personally, I've never really thought about pairing wine with Japanese food (I usually prefer sake with Japanese cuisine), so I couldn't fully appreciate the greatness, but my wine-loving friend was impressed. They were amazed at how well the wine complemented the challenging ingredients! Dishes like karasumi and bonito sashimi (lightly seared on one side like tataki) were indeed well balanced and delicious. The meal itself was visually beautiful, incorporating ingredients like fava beans, young bonito, grilled bamboo shoots, and cherry shrimp, giving a sense of spring. I really enjoyed dishes like the grilled bamboo shoots and venison sauté, and the chilled Sanuki somen noodles with cherry shrimp and nori. The wine paired with the meal was also delicious. The service at the restaurant was just right, not too intrusive, allowing for a pleasant dining experience. The price range may require a bit of a splurge for the average person, so in terms of value for money, it's a bit delicate. While I don't think it's too expensive, for those who, like my friend, are constantly pondering the combination of Japanese cuisine and wine, the excitement of the marriage between Japanese cuisine and wine might add that extra value to justify the price.

I love this restaurant. The owner is also a sommelier, so they have a wide variety of wine on the menu. They also offer wine pairings. The wines they serve complement the dishes, making the dining experience enjoyable. I always look forward to the delicious seasonal dishes. I will definitely go back.
