【TOP1000】Hakata Gourmet⑫ Sukiyaki and Mizutaki Iroha Main Store To conclude the gourmet journey in Hakata, we visited the "Sukiyaki and Mizutaki Iroha Main Store," established in 1953 and also ranked in the top 1000 on Tabelog. Due to its popularity, we made a reservation a few days in advance. The interior is adorned with signatures of famous people. While the sukiyaki is tempting, this time we ordered the "local chicken mizutaki set." The waitress carefully removes the scum and then pours chicken bone soup into the pot once it boils. The taste is light yet flavorful, with the essence of the local chicken shining through. The yuzu pepper adds a nice touch. The extracted chicken is firm and satisfying to eat. The homemade ponzu sauce made with oranges pairs perfectly with it. Meanwhile, the waitress prepares the meatballs right in front of us and adds them to the pot. After cooking for about 5 minutes, she adds vegetables (cabbage, spinach, carrots, enoki mushrooms, kuzukiri noodles, tofu, etc.) and tells us to enjoy them whenever we like. The soup infused with the sweetness of the vegetables is also exquisite. The meatballs are very tender and bursting with the flavor of chicken. What's amazing is that they don't leave a lingering taste in the mouth even after some time has passed! For the finale, we chose the rice porridge, a simple yet deeply satisfying dish made with the broth of chicken and vegetables. It truly made me feel like it was a wonderful journey. Thank you for the delicious meal!!!

I visited this restaurant after 2 years with my family this time, and we had water hot pot and sukiyaki. Among the long-established restaurants in Hakata, this place offers the best cost performance. We had tempura for lunch, so we couldn't finish it all. However, the initial water hot pot soup was always exquisite. The attentive and considerate service from the staff is truly remarkable.

The staff's customer service is good. The broth is delicious and the dumplings were also tasty, so I was satisfied. However, the prices are a bit high, so I might not come back again. The interior is filled with autographs and photos of famous people. It seems like you can't enter without a reservation, so please be aware if you plan to visit!

Fukuoka: Nakasu Kawabata "Hakata Taste Sukiya and Mizutaki Iroha" Founded in 1953, the original Mizutaki!! The restaurant is filled with autographs of famous people and celebrities! I waited for the pot with vinegar motsu and horse sashimi, and finally, the meat arrived! I ate bone-in chicken and meatballs with ponzu sauce flavored with yuzu pepper. It was delicious! The vegetables became very soft and tender by simmering in broth. For the finish, I had noodles. The sukiyaki is also famous, so I would like to try it next time!

I was recommended this restaurant for its delicious Mizutaki (chicken hot pot) in Fukuoka, so I decided to visit. The walls were covered with autographs of celebrities like Ueto Aya and Masuwaka Tsubasa, which was entertaining for a fan like me. But the highlight was definitely the incredible taste of the food. The broth served at the beginning of the Mizutaki was mind-blowing, with a gentle yet rich flavor that left me speechless. The chicken and meatballs that followed were all packed with umami. After savoring these dishes, I was faced with a tough choice between Ojiya (rice porridge) and Champon (noodle soup), and I opted for the Ojiya. It was another regret-free, extremely delicious ending to the meal. I truly enjoyed the Mizutaki here. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

During a business trip to Fukuoka, a colleague and I visited this famous restaurant. Despite its reputation, the place was surprisingly empty. I love Mizutaki (chicken hot pot) and always make sure to have it when I'm in Hakata. My personal favorite is Torida behind the Hakata-za theater. The first time I tried it, I was amazed by the tenderness and flavor of the chicken. Since then, I have tried Mizutaki at various places, but none compare to Torida, except maybe Orenji. I was satisfied with the taste at Iroha, but it didn't blow me away like Torida did. When it comes to Hakata and Mizutaki, you can't go wrong! Thank you for the meal.

I went to a long-established restaurant for Mizutaki (chicken hot pot). As soon as I entered, I was greeted by a plethora of signatures and photos from industry people. So many! First, I tried the soup. It was a light soup filled with the delicious taste of chicken. The salt and yuzu pepper complemented each other perfectly! Next came the chicken meat! It was bone-in and had a satisfying texture. The staff skillfully rolled chicken meatballs and added them to the pot along with cabbage and other vegetables. When I had another sip of the soup at the end, it had transformed into a rich and thick broth that didn't even need salt. It was another moment of amazement. The staff were friendly and engaging, allowing for a thoroughly satisfying dining experience!

I booked a reservation at the renowned Iroha restaurant in Fukuoka for a final banquet with 4 people. I've been a fan of their Mizutaki (chicken hot pot) since over 10 years ago when I first discovered this place. Occasionally, I visit Hanamidori in Tokyo. It's been a while since my last visit, so I didn't take many photos. We started with a chicken broth served in a small cup with yuzu pepper and salt. The minced meat was quickly prepared by the staff, who were friendly and made the atmosphere very pleasant. We enjoyed Fukuoka's pride, a Junmai Ginjo sake that was easy to drink and everyone loved it. The gentle Ojiya (rice porridge) for the end was easy on the stomach and everyone seemed very satisfied. I couldn't help but promote this place for anyone visiting Fukuoka.

We went out for a family dinner on Father's Day. The sukiyaki was delicious of course. From the first soup to the meat and vegetables, the ponzu sauce was just the right amount of tangy and you could eat as much as you wanted. The crispy fried chicken wings were also delicious. The horse sashimi was fresh and tasty, and the spicy cod roe was not too spicy. Overall, no matter what you eat, it's a delicious restaurant.

I used this place for entertaining on a business trip, and since it's not hotpot season, it was not crowded and I was able to enjoy it comfortably. The soup had a strong collagen flavor and was rich in umami, making it a perfect match with the vegetables. I think this hotpot can be enjoyed even in the upcoming hot season. I prefer this place over Tsukiji Shinmiura. The cost performance is also good.

After a four-month hiatus, I visited Fukuoka again and debated between having motsunabe or sukiyaki, but ultimately decided to try the sukiyaki that I had been craving since my last visit. The restaurant was filled with signed autographs on the walls, although I couldn't recognize most of them. We started with a toast with beer and then enjoyed the delicious sukiyaki. As soon as the meat arrived, I knew it was going to be good. The meat was so tasty when mixed with the egg. Looking at the menu for the next drink, I spotted Ichiro's Malt whiskey! There was no reason not to order it. It had a unique glass tilt, but it was undeniably delicious. I would definitely revisit this place if I have the chance to come back to Fukuoka.

I had never tried Mizutaki (chicken hot pot) before, so when I came to Fukuoka, I decided to visit this highly rated restaurant and made a reservation for Saturday at 7:00 pm. The restaurant staff also recommended making a reservation, so I followed their advice. The restaurant had three floors, and I was seated in a tatami room on the third floor. The place was packed and lively, with voices coming from all floors. I was asked by the staff if I wanted to try Sukiyaki as well, but I opted for the Mizutaki course I had been wanting to try. The price was around 5,500 yen per person. The staff took care of adding ingredients to the hot pot, so I felt at ease. One thing I really enjoyed was the fact that you could enjoy the soup twice: first with just the chicken, and then with vegetables added. The meal ended with a choice of Champon or Zosui (rice porridge), and I went with the Zosui based on recommendations. I suggest making a reservation before going to try Mizutaki!

The restaurant had private rooms and seemed family-friendly, although I couldn't find a children's menu so it might be more suitable for elementary school-age kids. The staff were very friendly, and there were a lot of tourists. They had a strict no photography policy for autographed signboards, but taking pictures of the food was allowed. The Mizutaki had a mild and gentle flavor. Overall, it seemed more geared towards tourists who are new to Fukuoka. Thank you for the meal.

The restaurant is filled with celebrity autographs from the 1st to the 3rd floor. The combination of ingredients soaked in soup and light ponzu sauce is excellent. Recommended ingredients are tsukune and cabbage, as the cabbage absorbs plenty of broth, enhancing its natural sweetness and making it very delicious. For the finishing touch, instead of noodles, I chose ochazuke, which was exquisite with the absorbed broth.

I didn't have a good impression of Mizutaki (chicken hot pot) before, but since I came to Fukuoka, I wanted to try it. I made a reservation for a Mizutaki course. I also ordered horse sashimi and mentaiko because just the hot pot alone wouldn't be enough. For drinks, I started with beer, then moved on to shochu and whiskey. First, I poured the Mizutaki soup into a small cup and tasted it. It was so delicious! So this is what Mizutaki tastes like. It reminded me of the Korean dish Dakhanmari. The flavor of the chicken was rich and the broth had a nice umami taste. The chicken meat was incredibly tasty! The meatballs were soft and amazing! A very friendly and cute waitress made the meatballs for us. The ponzu sauce was different from what I usually have and it was incredibly delicious. It remained tasty until the end. For the finishing touch, we had champon. Oh, the champon was not that great, it was like soft noodles from a school lunch. I should have ordered okayu instead. But the hot pot was so delicious that I was completely satisfied! The air conditioning was too cold, but the other customers seemed fine so I endured it. (I was sitting right where the cold air was blowing, so it felt especially cold.) The restaurant was filled with autographs and photos of celebrities. You can tell that even celebrities with refined tastes would want to come here. I might get addicted to Mizutaki! I want to find a delicious restaurant in Tokyo too. Thank you for the meal.

A visitor from another prefecture specifically came to this restaurant to try their Mizutaki (chicken hot pot). They made a reservation in advance, but the restaurant was fully booked on a Saturday, even for the second seating. Located near the Hakata-za theater in Hakata, this restaurant has been serving Mizutaki for over 60 years, now run by the fourth generation. They also have branches in Osaka. The main dish is the Hakata specialty "Jidori Mizutaki" (with minced chicken) priced at 5,170 yen. The table comes with a portable stove, and the pot is filled with a milky broth. The minced chicken is prepared by the staff, while you can add your own vegetables. Once the broth boils, you can first enjoy the broth itself in a small cup. The chicken is then served separately. The meal goes well with a Maker's Highball. Finally, you can choose between Ojiya (rice porridge) or Champon (noodle soup) at the end. The visitor from out of town chose Champon. When asked how many servings, they ordered enough for 4 people, but ended up enjoying just 2 servings. Even with so much broth at the beginning, they were able to enjoy it until the end.

I made a reservation for 5:00 pm on a weekday and visited for the first time. I was greeted warmly and shown to a table that was ready for me. The walls were covered with photos and autographs of famous people, although I didn't recognize many of them. I ordered the Mizutaki course and added horse sashimi. The horse sashimi was delicious, with a rich flavor and a good texture. The hot pot started right away, so I enjoyed it in between bites of sashimi. I tried a piece of shabu-shabu, but I still preferred the sashimi. The soup was delicious from the start. They even prepared minced meat for me, while I could cook the vegetables at my own pace. It was a nice experience. I had a highball with Ichiro's name on it while eating the flavorful chicken. The chicken had a firm texture and a rich taste. I added the vegetables early so they could soak up the tasty soup. The minced meat and vegetables were delicious. I wanted to have more, but I was already full and had to stop. I asked the handsome senior waiter for a recommended drink to go with the hot pot, and he suggested Black Jack from Nagasaki followed by Yama no Jyuzo sake. The new employee and the senior waiter made my stay very pleasant for almost two hours. The new employee even made a delicious rice porridge for me to finish the meal. All the other staff members were also friendly, which I think is part of the reason why this place is so popular.

I had some errands to run in Hakata over the weekend, so I went to eat Mizutaki at Iroha. The walls inside the restaurant were covered with lots of autographs from famous people. However, I noticed many autographs from people I didn't know at all... In cases like this, I don't think the staff would ask for autographs. Do the celebrities themselves ask to sign something?? Well, whatever. Before the main dish Mizutaki, I had Basashi (horse sashimi). I had started with sake from the beginning, so the combination of sake and Basashi was really effective. It made me think, Japanese sake goes really well with Japanese food, and I felt grateful to be born in Japan. The Mizutaki had a rich chicken broth, so it was delicious. Especially the cabbage and tofu soaked up the flavor and tasted really good. The chicken itself had a nice texture and was to my liking. It was more like the taste of a mature bird rather than a young bird at Ittetsu (??). After that, I enjoyed the Mizutaki while sipping on shochu on the rocks. Oh, when you come to Hakata, you have to have Mizutaki! Hakata is also known for motsunabe, but I can't decide which one is better. Thank you for the meal!!

The staff took care of the cooking, but we learned that we could adjust the heat or even stop the fire ourselves. The soup was rich with a slightly sweet and thick ponzu sauce. The bone-in meat was a bit undercooked, but the meatballs were delicious. We finished with a satisfying rice porridge using the flavorful broth. Overall, it was a good quality hot pot experience at a reasonable price.

I haven't had much experience with sukiyaki and didn't have high expectations due to its healthy image, but it was incredibly delicious! I underestimated sukiyaki... Why is it so tasty? Even though it was a weekday, the restaurant was fully booked, and the food was so delicious that I felt like I could eat it endlessly. The ponzu sauce also seemed sweeter than in Tokyo, or is it just my imagination...? It was delicious! Thank you for the meal.

I love the Hakata-style water hot pot, and when it comes to water hot pot, Iroha is one of my top choices in Hakata! The place was packed when I visited, maybe because they were on TV recently.
