whoiskawakami
[Location] From the intersection of Kodenmacho, head towards Bakurocho intersection on Edo Street, turn left at the first traffic light and enter Daimon Street. A little further in, the shop is on the right corner.
[Store, Interior] Previously, it was a shop called Tori Chuubou Zutto. It closed down and became Torifune, another chicken shop. Torifune? I've heard that name somewhere before, oh yes, it was the shop in the alley near Kodenmacho intersection. It seems they have relocated and reopened here. Upon entering, there is a register right away (this layout is a bit awkward, it was different at Zutto's), and if you go left up the step, there are table seats on the left, counter seats on the left with the kitchen, and table seats on the right. This shop, due to its structure, has quite a few steps, so please be careful.
[Cuisine] The lunch menu includes Tori Juu \800, Toriten Tartar \800, Grilled Fish Set Meal \900, Sashimi Set Meal \900. Since it's a chicken shop, I opted for Toriten Tartar \800. Shortly after, the Toriten Tartar arrived. Well, it's Chicken Nanban, right? The plate includes Toriten, salad, and tartar sauce. The rice comes in a free large serving, but since the original bowl is small, even the large serving may seem small. The miso soup was red miso. This can be a matter of personal preference. I immediately tried the Toriten with tartar sauce, and it was within my expectations, nothing particularly outstanding.
[Beverages] Water is provided with a pot and cup at each table.
[Service] I have visited the previous small shop before, which was run by a family and had a warm atmosphere. They used to stay open until morning, so I thought there must be a certain demand for it. I never expected them to relocate to this large space. With the shop getting bigger, more employees, can they still maintain that warm atmosphere? Lunchtime feels rushed, and if no customers come at night, it could be difficult. There may be regular customers, but I can't imagine that large space being filled up. What's the deal? While it's a good thing that the shop has relocated and expanded, I couldn't help but feel a slight dissatisfaction while having lunch. It's a good thing that this shop is now in Kodenmacho without a shop in Ningyocho. I hope this review can be helpful for your restaurant choices.
