I felt like eating some refreshing soba noodles, so I ended up at Murata. It was around 1:30 pm, so I waited for about 15 minutes. By the time I finished eating, there was no waiting at all, so maybe I should have come around 2 pm instead. I wanted to have tenzaru after a long time, but I'm not a big fan of shrimp, so I chose vegetable tempura instead. I didn't remember that the tempura dipping sauce and the soba broth were served separately. The tempura with burdock, asparagus, onion, mushrooms was crispy and delicious. I added countryside soba for an extra 100 yen. I think countryside soba has some husk ground in it. I also added cheesecake after the meal and was satisfied. It was not too sweet and really delicious. Ah, I should have visited this soba restaurant during lunch hours only. I'll try that next time.

I visited "Shinshu Soba Murata" located on the approach to Kushida Shrine, which is also the starting point of the Hakata Gion Yamakasa festival, and tried their "tsukekamo soba". The ultra-thin noodles, made from homemade stone-ground flour, are perfectly coated with a sweet and savory broth, complemented by duck meat and green onions. It's a must-try dish recommended by a certain pitcher from a local Fukuoka professional baseball team. For dessert, I recommend the "zenzai", which features a fluffy white ball made from soba instead of the usual mochi, paired with red beans. The menu offers a variety of side dishes and drinks, and the atmosphere inside is calm, with excellent service from the staff. I look forward to visiting again, perhaps in the evening. I'll definitely be willing to wait in line for this experience.

On a scorching hot day, feeling parched, I searched for a cool place to eat and found a perfect soba restaurant on the approach to Kushida Shrine. I started with a beer and plate of pickles to cool down. As I leisurely looked at the menu, I already knew I wanted zaru soba, but couldn't decide on the topping. I went with shrimp and vegetable tempura, and chose the 80% buckwheat soba. It was flexible yet firm, with a refreshing texture. I made the right choice with the 80% buckwheat soba. The tempura was crispy and delicious! Days like this are sometimes just perfect.

I arrived at the restaurant 5 minutes before opening and was the 12th in line. There was a long line since the morning. I waited for about 15 minutes before being able to enter. Despite being hungry, the food was delicious from the morning. We ordered Spicy Meat Tsukemen (slightly spicy), Tempura Soba (the shrimp and onions were delicious), Oyakodon, and Mini Oyakodon. The eggs in the Oyakodon were tasty and very good. Please try it at least once.

Fine-ground soba noodles for 950 yen, plum onigiri for 300 yen, and a Sake cocktail with plum flavor for 900 yen. This charming restaurant is located along the approach to Kushi-da Jinja Shrine. It has a counter with 7 seats and about 6 tables. I wonder if there is a second floor. There was a poster advertising a comedy show, so I assume there is a tatami room on the second floor. The first floor offers a view of a small garden. The soba noodles are firm, and they come with a special water to mix with. The soba broth is on the thicker side. The plum sake is easy to drink, with a rice aroma from the glass and a plum flavor when you sip it. It has a nice aftertaste.

Visited with a friend on a regular night. We chose a course with all-you-can-drink option, and it was the best value for money. The staff were attentive, the food was delicious, and the drinks were great. Both of us left completely satisfied. We promised to come back again.

I visited the restaurant alone after 1 pm. I waited for about 10-15 minutes and then ordered the vegetable tempura soba in large size with croquette. The soba was delicious! It had a firm texture, a good soba flavor, and a refreshing mouthfeel. The soba broth was a bit on the thick side. The vegetable tempura included shiitake mushrooms, pumpkin, okra, eggplant, green beans, and burdock root, and it was plentiful and crispy, all very delicious! I also ordered the croquette based on reviews, but it wasn't a big hit for me. It was hot with a crispy coating and a slightly sweet seasoning. I would definitely want to come back again!

When passing by the shop, there is usually always a line. I went with a friend and for once, there was no line and we were seated right away. We started with some alcohol. We had dashimaki tamago and potato salad as appetizers and made a toast. The dashimaki tamago was big and fluffy, really delicious. The soba had yamaimo which had a smooth and refreshing texture, also very tasty. Thank you for the meal.

I had not eaten anything since morning because there was a health check-up nearby. When I arrived just before the opening time at 11:30, there was already a line forming. While waiting in line, I searched the menu online and found out they had "sudachi soba". I had never tried sudachi soba before, so I ordered the "tempura sudachi soba" for 1,950 yen. The sudachi soba on its own is 1,300 yen. I asked a male staff member if the skin of the sudachi is edible, and he said it is. Some people may find the skin bitter, so he suggested trying it separately on a plate. The taste was very refreshing, and I even finished the soup. I ate all of the sudachi skin as well.

Second visit! I think this is a rare place in Fukuoka where you can enjoy delicious soba. The counter and table seats at the back of the restaurant offer a small but beautiful garden view, which is a plus. It brings back memories of the good old days when I used to frequent the traditional soba restaurant Hisaya.

I love the soba noodles here, and I always come here whenever I'm on a business trip to Fukuoka. Lately, I've been hooked on their curry soba with an extra two shrimp tempura. If you think curry soba at a soba restaurant is weird, give it a try! #HakataGourmet #FukuokaGourmet #BusinessTripGourmet #BusinessLunch #GionLunch #SobaLover #DeliciousRestaurant #RecommendedRestaurant #CurrySoba #ShrimpTempuraAddition #ShinshuSobaMurata

Cold 100% buckwheat soba noodles with a large serving - 1100 yen
Extra serving of soba noodles - 300 yen
There is usually a long line of customers waiting outside, but on this day, surprisingly, I was able to get in quickly. Since I was dining alone, I was seated at the counter. I have never tried the fine-ground 80% buckwheat soba or the coarse-ground country-style soba here, I always go for the 100% buckwheat soba. Even though the large serving may seem small compared to other places, the quality of the soba noodles is top-notch. It is very delicious.

This is a reservation-only restaurant. It's extremely popular and frequented by many foreigners. Murata's soba has a smooth texture and is delicious. This time, I ordered the Kushida set meal. The crispy tempura, tasty tofu, and flavorful chirashi rice made me want seconds.

I used this restaurant for entertaining guests. It was recommended by our business partner, and I had been wanting to go there for a while. I was very satisfied. Since I was driving home, I had non-alcoholic drinks. It would have been even better with sake. I had the 10% and the 28% soba dishes. The tempura, firefly squid soy sauce pickles, and tamagoyaki were all delicious. Soba in Shinshu is really tasty.

I arrived before the store opened at 11:30. Since it was a weekday, there were no other customers at that time. Around 11:40, salarymen and office ladies started coming in one after another. It was a rainy and chilly day, so instead of cold water, we were served warm buckwheat tea. As someone who gets cold easily, I was really happy that day, especially since my friend came dressed lightly. When I visited in the fall, I had warm soba, so this time I decided to keep it simple and ordered the Juwari soba (large serving). I was very satisfied with the perfect texture of the Juwari soba and its rich aroma. Located just beyond the eyes and flowers of Kushida Shrine, this place is recommended even for tourists.

At a popular soba restaurant, there are sometimes lines. On this day, I ordered the "Kamiten Zaru" and "Niku Toro Tofu". The tempura arrives first. The "Kamiten Zaru" comes with an eel on top. Yay! The eel tempura alone costs 2500 yen, but the set with the "Kamiten Zaru" is 2600 yen. Just a 100 yen difference, but you get half an eel, shrimp tempura, and vegetable tempura, along with soba, so this set is definitely a better deal, right?! The eel tempura is, of course, with salt! Crispy to bite into, with a fluffy texture inside. Sweet and tender! The batter is not too thick, not too heavy, and crunchy. The shrimp is plump and delicious. The squid is sweet! The soba is thin, with a subtle aroma. The texture is excellent. The soba broth is delicious, not too sweet, with a rich flavor. Slurping it down is pure bliss. The "Niku Toro Tofu" is creamy and delicious, with sweet miso sauce that goes well with the silky tofu. When you want to indulge in a bit of luxury with your soba, this is the perfect place. The traditional Japanese atmosphere inside, with sunlight streaming through the windows and casting shadows on the wooden floors, is very charming. Thank you for the wonderful meal. Perfect for when you want to enjoy a bit of luxury with your soba. [Shinshu Soba Murata]

Because it is a popular restaurant, I went there before it opened and entered as soon as it opened. I was unsure of what to order, but I ended up ordering the cold soba with vegetables tempura and the Oyako-don with warm soba. The vegetable tempura soba arrived first, and after trying a little bit of the warm soba broth, I was impressed by the taste. Then, the cold soba arrived. I tried the soba on its own first, and although it didn't have a strong aroma like the countryside soba, it was still enjoyable. The dipping sauce had a slight sweetness and was tasty, but when eaten with the soba, it tasted like typical cold soba. The Oyako-don had a nice runny egg, but overall, it was just delicious without being extraordinary. In general, I think it was on the tastier side, but considering the cost-performance ratio, I might not go back next time.

When I visited my son's house in Hakata and said, "I feel like eating soba," he took me to a restaurant near Kushida Shrine, saying, "It's a bit of a walk, but there's a delicious place there." We tried to make a reservation, but it was too sudden and we couldn't. The restaurant was full when we arrived, but we were seated at the counter by the window without having to wait. I ordered the thin soba noodles (ni-hachi soba) mori style, while my son ordered a large portion of atsudon (small) with chicken rice topping and an additional 5-item oden. The oden was served first, and the aroma of the broth was delightful. I wasn't in the mood to eat, but my son insisted, so I tried the daikon radish, pork belly, and other ingredients, which were delicious due to the flavorful broth. The soba noodles looked delicious and had a refined taste and a smooth texture. The dipping sauce was also excellent. The delayed chicken rice topping that arrived later was also tasty. I was full and satisfied with the soba and chicken rice. It was a satisfying dinner. Thank you, Murata-san.

I made a reservation and arrived before 7:00 PM. The entrance was crowded with customers coming and going, but it seemed like they had just finished one round by 7:00 PM, and if it was past 7:30 PM, you could probably get a table even without a reservation. They gave us a spacious area at the back of the counter for the hot pot. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was a mix of Japanese and Korean languages, with a sense of Korean customers returning. The buckwheat shochu on the rocks that I ordered first was delicious. It was so good that I considered getting another one, but I switched to a glass of Oroyku and Jinro. The sesame amberjack that I added to the duck hot pot course was delicious, a clean hit. The three appetizers and the rolled omelette were also tasty. And then, the duck hot pot that I love. It was a new style where you cook the meat yourself like shabu-shabu, and they brought out an instruction manual. We started with soba noodles, which were fragrant and delicious. We added burdock and brought it to a boil. There was plenty of duck meat! It was amazing! The idea was to eat the meat rare in about 5 seconds, or medium in about 15 seconds, each with a different flavor. The three condiments - yuzu pepper, ginger, and spicy radish - did a great job. I couldn't help but ask for more. Eating the duck meat with the scallions, burdock, and condiments all together was really delicious. For the finish, I debated between the Mori soba and the soba noodles, but I heard the staff say, "I want you to try our Mori soba too," so I went with the Mori soba. It was delicious thin soba noodles. The atmosphere was great, I was full, and then I went to visit Kushida Shrine.

Mr. Murata. It was super crowded during lunchtime. I think I waited for about 40-50 minutes. It was a bit warm that day, so it wasn't too bad (lol). I was looking forward to it, entered the restaurant, and ordered the meat soba. The photo came out blurry. Haha, it was really delicious. The meat was tender, and it paired well with the soba. There was a sudden spicy kick somewhere, not sure what it was for. I thought maybe it wasn't necessary (lol) but overall, it was really tasty! If the line wasn't so long, I would definitely want to go back to this place.

At the second stop for day drinking, I went to Soba Murata. It was around 3pm, so there were not many customers. I ordered a set of beer and soba, and enjoyed the crispy fried soba while waiting for the noodles. The soba was really delicious, especially the buckwheat noodles. The tempura was good too. Excellent experience.
