Visited at 11:45 am on February 3, 2023. Finished work in the morning and decided to have lunch after a long time. The ramen shop "Daikoku Ramen" here was awarded on Tabelog in 2012 (probably one of the top 100 shops now), and the certificate was displayed. The restaurant was already full at 11:45 am. Fortunately, someone was leaving just then, so I could enter without waiting. The menu is limited, offering either ramen or chashu noodles, regular or large size, and the option to add fried rice. Many people around me were having ramen and fried rice, probably because the fried rice is very affordable. I decided to follow suit and ordered the "Chashu Noodles (Large - ¥830)" and "Fried Rice (¥240)." The food was ready in about 10 minutes. The "Chashu Noodles (Large)" were like a model Kyoto-style ramen, with a soy sauce-based pork bone broth that was refreshing and elegant in taste. The Kujo green onions complemented it well. The noodles were thin straight noodles with a high water content, easy to stretch but had a good texture. They paired well with the soup. The "Fried Rice" was a small portion, similar to half a portion of fried rice, with only green onions and eggs for a simple flavor. It was light in taste and not satisfying on its own, but it paired perfectly with the ramen. It made sense why everyone ordered them together. The meal was very delicious, and I finished it in about 10 minutes. I think this ramen, which has been loved by locals for many years, was truly delightful. Thank you for the meal.

In the vicinity of Kintetsu's Fushimi Omiya Station and Keihan's Fushimi Momoyama Station, there are two major ramen shops that have been supported by locals since ancient times. A friend who prefers lighter flavors chose Daikoku Ramen over the other option. It's conveniently located near both stations, blending into a residential area like a ramen shop that's also a home. Surprisingly, this place still uses verbal orders, which is quite rare nowadays. The cost performance is unbeatable - a bowl of ramen costs 530 yen, and fried rice is only 240 yen. Even if you order both, it's only 1,000 yen with change back! The tonkotsu shoyu ramen is surprisingly light, with a broth that doesn't have a strong pork smell. The thin noodles, chashu, and green onions create a well-balanced and satisfying combination. The nostalgic presentation adds to the charm, although the prices are quite reasonable. The fried rice, especially when eaten with the ramen soup, enhances your appetite. The soup is light and refreshing, ensuring you won't get tired of it. In the kitchen, the chef continuously cooks fried rice in a wok, creating a rhythmic sound until closing time. Despite it being late afternoon, a diverse range of customers, including families with children, kept coming in. The lack of a ticket machine emphasizes the importance of human connections in this family-run ramen shop.

On Saturday, September 2nd at 2:40 PM, there were customers before and after, but no waiting in line. Even close to 3 PM, people were constantly coming in and out. However, during this time slot, you can enter without waiting in line. They serve ramen and fried rice for 770 yen. The food is served in about 7 minutes. I think it's a good value for the price. If you're in trouble, you can't go wrong here, but there are many times when you have to wait in line, so it's better to go at off-peak times. I will revisit this place.

Lunch break at work. I visited Daikoku Ramen♪ I hadn't experienced sharing a table before, but it was fine as a young man ordered the large ramen and fried rice‼️ It was enjoyable to watch him eat enthusiastically〜 I had the regular size ramen♪ The light soup was almost finished♪ Using a service voucher, the total was only 430 yen, which is quite a deal nowadays. Thank you for the meal.

Arrived at 10:40 am on a weekday, waited in the car with 9 people, and they opened a bit early at 11:00 am. Left at 11:13 am. The ramen (firm) with rice for 530 yen plus 120 yen was so delicious and satisfying. This is it, this is the good stuff! The flavors were deep and satisfying. I will definitely come back when I'm in the area. Thank you for the meal.

Recently, ramen places seem to be emphasizing their uniqueness a lot, with high ratings, but I've been disappointed a few times after visiting. However, this place has been loved for a long time with many regular customers, giving a reliable feeling. The soup is lighter than it looks in the photos, easy to finish. The noodles are like egg noodles, easy to eat. Toppings include green onions and thinly sliced pork with little fat. The menu has only a few items. The basic ramen is priced at only 530 yen. Despite this, I received a 100 yen voucher at the register... We had to wait a bit past dinner time on the weekend, but the turnover was quick so we were seated soon. It was delicious!

Kyoto, which is also known as the home of Kansai ramen, has many intriguing restaurants in Fushimi and Kawai. Among them, I had always decided to visit the special ramen shop Taichu Honten when in Fushimi. However, despite having several opportunities, I never felt like going or was deterred by long lines. But today, with a strong determination, I left Torisei Honten around 8 PM. I still had room in my stomach. Although there were other tempting menu items, I reluctantly gave up on them as I wouldn't have space for ramen. Finally, I headed to Daikoku Ramen. Worried about the popular shop having long lines, I was relieved to find available counter seats inside. I purchased my meal ticket and chose "ramen" with the topping of "kimchi." The ramen, a typical Kyoto style, had a stronger tonkotsu flavor compared to other shops. The noodles were smooth and delicious. Adding kimchi enhanced the flavor even more. It was truly delicious. Ramen is indeed the best way to end a drinking session. As I vowed to return again, I made my way to the nearest station.

During my student days, I frequented Daikoku Ramen countless times. After 6 years, I went back to eat there. With nostalgia in mind, it was truly delicious... They give you a 100 yen discount ticket each time you pay, so from the second visit onwards, it's essentially less than 500 yen per bowl. It's almost unsettling how they can offer ramen of this quality at such a price. The place was packed from the moment they opened at 11:00. Seeing how busy they are made me a bit happy, and I hope this place continues to thrive. Oh, the fried rice is a must-try menu item.

On Wednesday at 12:00, I went to "Daikoku Ramen" in Tanbabashi. It had been quite a while since my last visit. I don't come to this area often, so I was excited. I ordered the "Ramen (530 yen)" and the "Yakimeshi (240 yen)". They arrived in 7 minutes. I took a bite of the "Ramen". Delicious. The pork bone soup had just the right amount of saltiness. The classic and robust flavor was fantastic. The medium-thin noodles were also good. The bean sprouts, green onions, and chashu were simple yet tasty. All this for 530 yen is surprisingly cheap. I think they could easily increase the price by another 200 yen. I took a bite of the "Yakimeshi". Delicious. It was crispy and simply seasoned. This high-quality "Yakimeshi" was also a steal at 240 yen. When in this area, "Daikoku Ramen" is the go-to choice. It's a classic ramen shop loved by the locals. Thank you for the meal.

This restaurant, which has been open for about 40 years in a charming store that used to be a sake brewery, is a place where locals visit repeatedly. The repeat rate is quite high, I think. The soup, which never gets boring no matter how many times you eat it, is excellent. The soup, based on pork bones and chicken bones, has a "rich yet refreshing umami flavor." The taste that spreads in your mouth is so gentle that you can drink it all the way to the end. It's nice to adjust the spiciness to your liking while enjoying it. It becomes even more flavorful and rich. The secret to the high repeat rate is the "100 yen discount coupon" given when leaving, making the ramen and fried rice next time in the 600 yen range, which is the best cost performance. It used to be even cheaper before.

Simple and delicious. It's a taste that makes you want to eat it every other day without getting tired of it. Rather than a punchy flavor, it's more like, "Yes, this is it! This is what I wanted to eat!" The chashu may not be as impressive compared to nearby famous shops, but the cost performance is great, and the soup is very much to my liking!

It's been a really long time since my last visit. I had the classic Kyoto ramen with pork bone soy sauce, and a simple fried rice that tastes like homemade. The fried rice is only 240 yen, which is an amazing price! The menu is not very extensive, and most people order this combination. The ramen soup and chashu pork have a traditional taste that never gets old. I would like to go back again soon.

【Check Points】 - Established for 40 years, beloved local ramen for 530 yen - No waiting: Visited on Saturday at 10:15 PM Established for 40 years, the original store of Daikoku Ramen, loved in Kyoto since the old days, where you can enjoy a serving of ramen for 530 yen. Located in a residential area a 3-minute walk from Fushimi-Momoyama Station. The exterior is marked by a yellow, flashy sign with the name of the store in black letters, always overflowing with customers. Inside, upon opening the door, there are 33 seats with table seating in the front and counter seating in the back. The joy of being able to enjoy ramen in Kyoto, once priced at 470 yen, even in this age of high cost, for 530 yen is delightful. And when settling the bill, you also receive a 100 yen discount coupon that has been available since the old days. The hospitality of being able to eat at a lower price when you become a repeat customer on top of this affordability is irresistible. This time, I ordered the Chashu Ramen. - Chashu Ramen 680 yen Soup: Pork bone and chicken bone soy sauce Noodles: Thin straight noodles Toppings: Pork thigh chashu, green onions, bean sprouts The soup, with a white, thick consistency, combines the richness of pork bone and the umami of chicken bone, creating a rich and addictive flavor that remains unchanged. The low oil content is also a plus. The noodles are basic straight noodles, on the softer side. I forgot to ask for firm noodles... The thinly sliced chashu, with minimal fat, has a flavorful taste typical of old-fashioned ramen shops. The simple toppings of plenty of green onions and bean sprouts. It's been about 10 years since I last had it, but the nostalgia and the unchanged taste of the soup were moving. I will definitely come back! If you find this review helpful, feel free to save it. _________________ Instagram: 66shuki Twitter: 66shuki TikTok: 66shuki _________________

This is my first visit. I arrived a little after 1 p.m. and was able to enter without any wait. I ordered ramen and fried rice. The ramen had a simple light pork bone flavor. It was slightly bland. The fried rice was also simply seasoned and had a nice texture. The pricing is not in line with recent trends.

Ramen for 530 yen. It had been five months since my last visit. It's been two years and three months since I last had ramen. With prices going up these days, I really appreciate that the price hasn't changed since two years and three months ago. I can't complain at this price (plus they gave me a 100 yen discount coupon for next time), but I still feel like it lacks richness, thickness, and depth. It would be nice if they provided some condiments to adjust the flavor. Well, overall, I'm satisfied (^^) Thank you for the meal.

I visited Daikoku Ramen in Kyoto, a place that brings back memories♪ I used to come here often when I was in high school. This time, I was surprised by the affordability - a bowl of ramen for only ¥530! I ordered the ramen with firm noodles. In this Reiwa era, finding ramen in the 500 yen range is quite rare and special. The young staff members were friendly. The ramen was served within about 3 minutes, a solid bowl that didn't feel cheap at all. The golden soup with simple toppings of green onions and chashu was delicious and nostalgic. The pork bone soy sauce broth was light and slightly sweet, very comforting. The chashu was tender and paired well with the noodles. The thin straight noodles matched the soup perfectly. It's a delicious flavor that you can easily get hooked on. I've loved it since my student days. #DaikokuRamenMainStore #KyotoRamenTour #RamenLoversUnite #DeliciousYetAffordableRamen #AppreciationForCorporateEfforts #DaikokuRamenIsDelicious #PerfectWayToEndAMeal

I visited this restaurant in Fushimi because I had some business there. I have been here a few times before, but it has been quite a while, probably over 10 years since my last visit. Back then, the prices were in the 470 yen range. Surprisingly, even now it's still 530 yen, making it exceptionally affordable compared to ramen specialty shops across Japan. I tried their ramen. The soup is a clear broth typical of Kyoto-style ramen, without much pork fat. It looks cloudy but is actually quite light with almost no oil content. Despite its seemingly light appearance, the soup made from pork bones and chicken bones has a rich flavor that you can feel after the first sip. It has a classic taste, but still stands out as a unique Kyoto ramen that you can't find anywhere else. However, the saltiness I remembered from before was a bit milder this time. I adjusted the flavor using the Yanninjan on the table, which worked well since the soup was quite strong. The portion of noodles was generous for the price. The straight white noodles didn't have any distinctive characteristics, and the toppings included two slices of lean pork, crunchy bean sprouts, and plenty of green onions. This longstanding restaurant near Fushimi-Momoyama Station, with a Kyoto-like atmosphere, has maintained its affordable prices despite some high-end establishments in Kyoto. It's a delightful old establishment. It's so inexpensive that I was thrilled to receive a 100 yen discount coupon for my next visit. I would like to try their fried rice, which I haven't had before.

Facing the east side of Kyomachi Street, north of Otemichi Street, is Daikoku Ramen Main Store. There seems to be no connection with Daikoku Ramen from Kumamoto. The store's location in Kyomachi Daikoku-cho, named after Daikoku Ten, seems to be popular in the Fushimi-Momoyama area, so I wanted to visit once and came today. I entered a little before 11:30. It was quite popular, and I was able to sit at a corner of a 6-person table. I heard that the yakimeshi was on the smaller side, so I ordered ramen (large, firm noodles) and yakimeshi. As of May 2023 (tax included), ramen (large) costs 680 yen, and yakimeshi costs 240 yen. The yakimeshi was served first. I heard it was half the usual size, but it's more than I expected, about one size smaller. It has a crispy finish and a light flavor. The ramen (large) is a normal large size. The noodles are straight and thin with a firm texture, which is common lately. The soup seems to be soy sauce-based, but it tastes closer to chicken white broth. It's not as rich as chicken white broth, with more chicken umami than soy sauce, making it a unique soup. The seasoning is on the stronger side, making it a good match for ramen rice. The lightly flavored yakimeshi also seems to go well with this soup. The soup's golden color is called out, and it seems more appreciated in places like Oshu Hiraizumi and Daimyo Nagoya. The basic ingredients are char siu, green onions, and bean sprouts. It seems that menma can be added as a topping. With ramen and yakimeshi at a low price, the cost performance is outstanding. When paying, you receive a 100 yen discount coupon for the next visit. We enjoyed delicious ramen and yakimeshi.

When I stayed a little outside of Kyoto, I visited this place along a dark road and thought, "Is it really here?" Even on a weekday at 9 PM, it was crowded. The food is delicious, cheap, served quickly, with polite service, and the place is clean. They have parking for two cars next to the restaurant. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the restaurant after 2 p.m. There are usually no lines, but it was almost empty when I went. I ordered ramen and fried rice. The noodles were thin and straight. The soup was a light yet flavorful pork bone and chicken broth soy sauce base. It was so tasty that I wanted to drink it all up till the end. The fried rice was also made with plenty of lard, giving it a nice fluffy texture. And the best part is the affordable prices. Personally, I think this place is a must-visit once a month because they always give a 100 yen discount coupon, valid until the end of the month. Even without the coupon, the food is reasonably priced and delicious, but getting the discount makes me want to come back again. I guess I'm hooked on their strategy, haha. Thank you for the delicious meal!

I visited the "Daikoku Ramen Main Store" around 12 o'clock alone. It's about a 5-minute walk from the Keihan Fushimi-Momoyama Station. The restaurant has a simple and casual atmosphere, which is quite rare these days. The taste, as well as the cost performance, make it a great place overall. The menu is straightforward and includes options like regular ramen for 530 yen, large ramen for 660 yen, chashu noodle for 680 yen, large chashu noodle for 830 yen, and various side dishes. I tried the chashu noodle for 680 yen, which came with menma for a total of 750 yen. Even if you add fried rice, it's still under 990 yen. The soup is a blend of pork bone and chicken broth, offering a simple yet satisfying flavor. The restaurant gives out a 100 yen discount coupon at the register, making it even more cost-effective. Despite not using premium ingredients, the food is delicious. I recommend it.
