A cozy family-run restaurant. It can accommodate around 10 people, and it was already full by 6:00 PM when we arrived at 5:50 PM. The place was a bit dark, but the seasoning was excellent and the drinks went down really well. Especially the dumplings, eggplant dengaku, and chicken kamameshi are must-try dishes.

I wonder how many times I've been here. The landlady is always lovely and I can't help but admire her. Every dish is truly delicious. I ate a lot of food and drank a lot of alcohol, but the terrifying thing is the endless pot rice that you can eat. This time, I ordered oysters and chicken. I like both, but I recommend the chicken. What should I order next time?

It seems that they were recommended chicken and oysters, which had been featured on TV. Since I visited in the summer and there were no oysters (disappointing...), I intended to go for the classic chicken, but ended up trying the shrimp kamameshi, which was the first item on the menu and recommended by the restaurant. I thought it might take some time, so I also ordered the torikai nuta, which seemed like it would come out quickly. It was delicious (,,•﹏•,,). The kamameshi had rice that was on the softer side, more suited for older people, but I personally prefer it a bit firmer. The shrimp was plump and likely added last. When the kamameshi arrived, I was told to mix it... The taste was delicious.

It was a restaurant in Kawaramachi that I wanted to visit for a while. It was full with about 10 people. We had bonito sashimi, grilled eel, shumai, pickled mackerel, chicken kamameshi, and various drinks. As rumored, it was amazing! The kamameshi and the sake were delicious. I was a bit nervous after reading other reviews, but it was actually very welcoming at first sight.

The hidden gem restaurant with a Showa era nostalgia has a small and chic atmosphere. Every dish is delicious and meticulously prepared. It's best enjoyed with some sake. The hostess is just as attentive as the food. It used to be popular among movie industry folks in Uzumasa, but now it's easier to get a table even on Saturday nights. I thought the prices might be high per dish, but sharing with three people, we could eat and drink a lot for around 7,000 yen, which is quite reasonable. I'd love to visit again.

A nostalgic restaurant tucked away in a back alley off Kawaramachi where you can enjoy delicious kama-meshi. On a day when a heavy rain warning was issued, the nearby restaurant we originally planned to go to was unexpectedly closed, so we ended up at this place we had visited a few times before. Although the menu isn't extensive, there are dishes made with autumn ingredients posted on the walls of the restaurant. We started with deciding on the kama-meshi, choosing matsutake mushroom and quail. While waiting for it, we ordered the eggplant dengaku and some beer. When the small pot of steaming kama-meshi arrives, you can't help but feel happy. A cozy kama-meshi restaurant where you can casually drop by. I hope it stays in Kawaramachi forever.

The food and hospitality were both amazing, truly touching. I visited after 8 pm on a weekday. I was worried about getting a table, so I called in advance to confirm. The staff was very polite and I was already looking forward to it. I had been wanting to try their kettle rice with sea bream for a long time. In addition, I also had "vinegared octopus," "small ayu fish tempura," and "Kamo eggplant miso-glazed dish." Everything was incredibly delicious. The small ayu fish tempura came with fig tempura as a palate cleanser, as the ayu fish was slightly bitter. It was my first time trying it, and it was sweet and delicious. The Kamo eggplant miso-glazed dish was juicy and the miso was delicious. The kettle rice was by far the most delicious I've ever had. The food was top-notch, and the proprietress and the chef were both very lovely, I was captivated. I will definitely go again♪

From sashimi to appetizers, and of course the kamameshi, everything was really delicious. I was surprised at how affordable the prices were considering the quality.

It might be a good place for a quick drink. I didn't have any, but my companion was impressed by how delicious the shellfish was! We finished with the oyster rice dish. Thank you for the meal.

The nostalgic interior reminiscent of the 1960s, with a nostalgic atmosphere. Although there are many similar restaurants nationwide, the dishes served here go beyond the level of your average small eatery. The dishes we had included grilled chicken with clams, simmered daikon and fried food, and traditional shumai dumplings, all made with care. Despite the quality, the portion sizes are modest considering the prices. Among them, the technique used for the shumai stands out - it was the best I've ever had in my life. We ordered the specialty kama-meshi with oysters, and it truly lived up to its reputation. The rice soaked in broth was cooked al dente, resembling a Japanese-style risotto. I've never had kama-meshi like this before. While we were satisfied with the food itself, the prices are on the higher side. We had a light meal and drinks for 6,500 yen. Certainly, if it were priced below 4,000 yen, it would likely become a highly popular restaurant, so perhaps the current price strikes a good balance.

In conclusion, the sweet but delicious kama-meshi is good. The sashimi varies in quality. The tempura of small ayu fish has slightly thick batter. The draft beer is initially sweet with little bitterness, which feels a bit odd. Transitioning to bottled beer, the homey atmosphere is inviting for casually dropping by, choosing dishes while waiting for the kama-meshi, and sipping beer. It's a mature way to enjoy. Reservations are not accepted, so I casually dropped in. On the way back, I noticed a long line at Dining Ogawa. It made me feel a bit conflicted, wondering if by reviewing, I am inadvertently contributing to the bustling of this once quiet restaurant.

I have been coming here for 15 years. If you want to eat kama-meshi in Kyoto, or even in Japan, without hesitation, it's Tsukimura! At one point, perhaps due to TV influence, there were long lines like at Corona-san across the street, but recently you can get in right away if you go before 6 p.m. Today, I had tempura oysters that start every October. For the kama-meshi, I chose matsutake mushrooms and shrimp. The tempura here is not crispy like tempura, but more like a fritter, which seems to suit the rich flavor of the oysters better. The matsutake mushrooms had a wonderful aroma with fully opened caps. The taste was also perfect! I will come back in the spring to try the tempura of butterbur sprouts!

Ultimate aroma-style kama-meshi! The oyster kama-meshi is seasonal, so it was great to come in the middle of winter (lol). After eating, we felt like doing nothing and could relax back at the hotel. My partner also enjoyed the cozy atmosphere. Good portion size, great ambiance, and convenient location for walking around. It's similar to having top-notch sushi with a four-star rating. Thank you for the wonderful meal.
