The sun was shining brightly along the Kamo River. I decided to cool off a bit and headed to Rokuyosha. The shop is located along Kawaramachi Street, near the Sanjo intersection. The interior has a retro cafe vibe, with only table seats for about four people each. Even if you go alone, you will be seated at a quite spacious table. Smoking is allowed in all seats. I don't smoke, but seeing cigarette smoke in this retro cafe adds a unique flavor. I ordered the Morning Set, which includes coffee and toast for 600 yen. Interestingly, the morning set is available until 12:00. The donuts seem to be popular as sweets. They have a simple appearance but are only available after 12:00. I enjoyed delicious coffee and toast while working lightly, and then left. It was a lovely morning activity. The atmosphere inside the shop is nice, and the staff are polite. The restroom seems to be shared with the underground store, as there is a staircase inside the restroom, which was something I've never seen before. I ordered an "Iced Cafe au Lait and an H Coffee." There seem to be surprisingly few cafes open in the morning in Kyoto, so this place might be quite special? I heard that their sweets are delicious too, so I would like to visit again for a cafe time.
