I came to my favorite "SODOH" restaurant! As always, everything is wonderful here! Even though other places are empty today, both the bar from yesterday and here were full. The food is delicious, the staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is great, yet the prices are very reasonable, so I want to tell everyone about it. I had corn cold soup, sea bass carpaccio, shiso basil genovese linguine, herb ribeye ravigote sauce +1,000 yen, and Basque-style cheesecake, all for 3,000 yen (chose beef for the main dish for an additional 1,000 yen), which is high quality that you wouldn't expect for this price. The genovese sauce was eye-opening as it didn't just focus on basil but also used shiso! Everything was delicious today as well. Lunch offers better value for money, so I rate it higher than dinner.

Whenever I come here... I always leave feeling satisfied. This restaurant is perfect for a pleasant lunch experience ♬♬ I wonder if the lunch menu changes depending on the month~? The ingredients and the chef's skills are unbeatable... My taste buds are always delighted. Reservations are a must even on weekdays!! The story begins from the entrance~ \(//∇//)\ Today's lunch menu includes... Mousse of carrot and peas, Scallop crudo, Fava beans, New spring onions, Young chicken with tomato ragu, Kyoto pork loin with white asparagus, and Sansho pepper. For dessert... I'm torn between the three options but I always end up choosing the Basque-style cheesecake with hot coffee for ¥3000. The seasonal squash... this time it's strawberry~ \( ˆoˆ )/ for ¥800. The pre-meal treat is delicious~ (^^) When I come here, I always look forward to the seasonal squash, which has a mature and not overly sweet taste ♬ Highly recommended!!! The fine bubbles in the sparkling drink are also amazing!! It looks cute too (^。^) From appetizers to mains, the foreign-sounding dishes are unfamiliar but... (laughs) they are all delicious, with a subtle seasoning that brings out the flavor of the ingredients. It's truly an extraordinary experience that you can't find at home, with each visit guiding you to a different room in this huge mansion... How vast is this place!? The service, ambiance, and food... It's truly wonderful and a restaurant you must visit when you come to Kyoto!٩( ᐛ )و

Used for a wedding anniversary dinner. I was very satisfied with being able to enjoy delicious food in a lovely atmosphere! Lunch on weekdays is also popular, so reservations are essential!! ■Order Contents ○SODOH COURSE 8 items ¥11,000 ■Impressions The evening atmosphere is mature, but not too formal, which was nice! The menu changes depending on the season, so it was different from what was reserved, but I liked the autumn ingredients, so it was great. Generally, it seems that many people opt for the course menu. For drinks, I ordered wine pairing to match the dishes. I was personally very satisfied as I could enjoy KENZO ESTATE's rindo by the glass! ****************** ■Atmosphere of the restaurant - Recommended for celebrations such as couples, girls' gatherings, and families - Child-friendly ◎ It was mentioned on the website, but you may need to be a little careful around. High chairs are available, and it's okay to park strollers next to the table, but there are two to three steps at the entrance.

Celebrating my mother's birthday. As expected, the location and scenery here are very lovely. I would have liked to walk around every corner of the building if there were no other customers, but unfortunately, that wasn't possible. The room we were in this time was different from the lovely room we were in a few years ago. Although we couldn't see the garden well, I was happy to be in a different room. The food was still delicious, just like it was a few years ago, especially the pasta. If the pricing for the pasta was a bit lower, I would want to visit more often. I forgot to take a picture of the last dessert, but the inside of the cookie choux with ice cream was delicious.

Located in a prime location between Kodai-ji Temple and Ninen-zaka, this restaurant operates in a renovated old mansion. While the exterior has a charming moss-covered appeal, the interior tastefully blends antiquity with modern touches. The dishes were delicious, including marinated mackerel salad, pumpkin soup, pasta, and chicken sauté, all wonderfully tasty. The wines were easy to drink and delicious as well. It's a pity that there was some inconsistency in the level of service among the staff. Educating the staff to the level of service here must be quite challenging, given the grandeur of the mansion and the need for a sufficient number of employees.

Upon entering the imposing gate and climbing the slope of the charming, lush garden, a stately Japanese house appears. Inside, there was a sophisticated Showa and Taisho romantic atmosphere. The course dishes were both visually stunning and delicious, and combined with the staff's hospitality, I had a wonderful time. This was my first visit, but it has become one of the restaurants I want to visit seasonally. I hope to be back for dinner next time. I was very satisfied! Thank you for the meal.

I visited after a long time. Despite the heat, I appreciate the welcome at the entrance. I'm not a wine expert, but as someone who enjoys wine, this is one of the places with delicious and easy-to-drink wines. It would be nice if the lineup hadn't changed from before. For solo diners, the lunch option is reasonable. The dishes made me feel the season and were flavorful. I couldn't resist and ended up enjoying wine at my own pace. The dishes included grilled conger eel with corn soup, plum with cold fettuccine, Kamo eggplant with mozzarella al forno, Shishito pepper with summer sea bass, Kyoto pork with grilled summer vegetables, Mist of lemon coffee. Every dish was delicious, including dessert. The wine lineup included sparkling, French Sauvignon, French Chardonnay, American Chardonnay for whites. I'm not a fan of red wine, so I had six glasses of white. The French wines were delicious, so I had two glasses each. The young male staff who assisted with the wine were also great. Next time, I'd like to enjoy wine with a luxurious course.

This is my third visit, and this time my family and I used the 7000 yen lunch course. The seasonal peach squash drink was very delicious and the fruit was incredibly sweet! The corn ice cream sandwich for the appetizer was the best... It was made with a very sweet variety of corn. The pasta and meat were also delicious, and we had a very enjoyable meal with unique creative dishes! The menu changes completely with each season, so I plan to visit again in the fall!!!

The garden, food, and service were all excellent. The weekday lunch is a good deal at 4400 yen including tax. Every dish was carefully and delicately made, and I was very satisfied. The main dish was pork, but I ordered a steak for an extra 2000 yen, and regretted it as it was only two small pieces and not worth the price. The main dish of pork and beef steak was served on a shared plate, and when it first arrived, I couldn't help but laugh in disbelief. Other than that, we also received two types of pasta and a dessert with a volume that didn't seem like a course meal, and I was very satisfied. After eating, we strolled through the well-maintained garden before heading home. Previously, there used to be a man in black standing at the entrance gate, but this time, no one was there, so anyone could enter.

I had plans for a solo dinner in Kyoto and was looking for a nice place where I could make a reservation for just one person... and I found this place. Being alone, I opted for a simple course, but I was completely satisfied and full. They also had a pairing course, which was a dream come true for wine lovers. Although it seemed like mostly tourists and couples were there, I was able to thoroughly enjoy the food. My favorite was the pasta, one of the best I've ever had! The garden was indeed lovely, and I could hear frogs singing, probably because there were some maple trees around, so it must be even more wonderful in autumn. However, on a weekday evening, the place was quite crowded, and the staff seemed a bit overwhelmed. Despite that, considering the good value for money, I personally wouldn't mind paying a bit more for fewer seats for a more satisfying experience. But I guess that's a dilemma for popular restaurants. I recommend visiting when you're in town!

#Lunch at THE CHEF# Elegant Italian cuisine# This restaurant is in a price range I don't usually visit, so I was surprised by the unfamiliar dish names and couldn't imagine what would be served# It seems to incorporate a touch of Japanese taste, making it easy on the palate (I think)# Upon arriving at the stately entrance, we were greeted with a "Are you Mr./Ms. [Name]?" - what a surprise...# Before the dishes arrived, a table with a view of the garden opened up, and they promptly asked us, "Would you like to move to a table with a view of the garden?" - amazing...# The clientele was calm and there was no loud noise at all✨# I visited based on a recommendation from a friend living in Kansai, and it was definitely the right choice. I had a wonderful time ☺︎

SODOH is a wedding venue operated by Plandouce. They offer lunch on weekdays. Located near Kiyomizu-dera and Kodai-ji, it's a place where you can truly feel Kyoto. The restaurant is spacious with a mix of Japanese and Western atmosphere, making it very cozy. The lunch courses vary in price, and this time we tried the 4400 yen course. Each dish showed attention to detail, truly reflecting its status as a wedding venue. The staff are very friendly. Despite being a weekday afternoon, the restaurant was quite busy with customers.

When my family traveled to Kyoto for my mother's birthday, we made a dinner reservation. The building was magnificent, and we were able to enjoy a Kyoto-like atmosphere while dining. Two members of our family have a shellfish allergy, but they were able to smoothly accommodate us by changing the main pasta dish to a beef bolognese as requested in advance through the Tabelog reservation. The meal was well-balanced and delicious overall. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I have used this restaurant several times. It is located at the foot of Kiyomizu Temple, so it is a great location for sightseeing ♡ This time, we celebrated a friend's birthday. If you ask in advance, they can prepare a whole cake for you ^_^ The surprise was a great success, and my friend was delighted, which was wonderful ♡ I think the warm and attentive service of the staff is also a charm of the restaurant ♪ After the meal, you can also stroll through a lovely garden and enjoy a luxurious feeling ♪

The quality for 3000 yen lunch is amazing. The presentation, taste, timing of the dishes, and the fact that we could have seconds of bread were all great. The hojicha sparkling juice was delicious and worth the 800 yen. The staff's attentive service was wonderful, and their thoughtful gesture of putting a hand warmer in my coat pocket when leaving was fantastic. Enjoyed a truly elegant and lovely time with the beautiful garden view from the restaurant, attentive service, and amazing food. Will definitely visit again!

Mitomi Emon's gourmet site has been launched. Homepage "https://blog.33inc.jp/" Instagram "@mitomi_emon" For lovers' dates in Kyoto, this is the place to go! Kyoto, Japan's leading tourist destination, is always bustling, especially in the Higashiyama area with Yasaka Shrine and Kiyomizu Temple. Yasaka Shrine is famous for matchmaking, and you can often see couples there. After a lovely date like that, I recommend stopping by the restaurant "THE SODOH HIGASHIYAMA KYOTO" near Yasaka Pagoda. It's located on a vast 1700-tsubo property, where you can dine amidst a spacious Japanese garden and the grand scent of history. Interestingly, it is managed by Plan Do See, which also operates wedding services, making it a place not only for dates but also for couples to make a lifelong commitment. The cuisine is Italian with Kyoto's essence incorporated. The overall satisfaction of the dishes is impressive, but I was particularly amazed by the high level of the supporting actors. It's evident that they pay attention to every detail. The amuse-bouche of Seigoin Kabu paste was excellent, and the rape blossoms accompanying the fish dish, as well as the mashed sauce of green onions for the meat dish, were outstanding. Perhaps their skill in using vegetables is a common factor. Here is the lineup of dishes: "AMUSE" - New Year's amuse-bouche. Kinkan and fromage blanc dorayaki, soy milk and Seigoin Kabu paste, awa-fu dengaku, yomogi-tsuki dengaku. "APPETIZER" - Cold amberjack with spring chrysanthemum and leek sauce. "PASTA" - Tagliatelle layered with Omi beef and fresh mushrooms. The spiciness of black pepper is a nice touch. "FISH" - Sea bream raised with tangerine peel, called Mikan Tai. Served with rape blossoms and mochi sauce. "MAIN" - Black Wagyu beef loin cooked medium rare. The sauce features Negi from Shimotsuma and mashed potatoes. Vegetables with hojiso miso. "RISOTTO" - Risotto with Tanba Asagiri chicken breast meat and dashi. A masterpiece skillfully layered with a hint of cheese flavor. "DESSERT" - Kyoto strawberry daifuku and amazake ice cream. Lastly, let me share a surprise episode. They warmed a hokkairo for me to put in my coat pocket before leaving. I was amazed by this hospitality. Surely, it will support lovers' dates as well.

The special course at the end of the year includes wine pairing with purple bells. We had a table by the window, so we could see the beautifully lit up Yasaka Pagoda. It lifted our mood. The New Year-style tiered box contained fresh fu, turnip mousse, and caviar dorayaki. I loved the fresh fu in sweet miso. The mackerel was served with chrysanthemum puree, cooked at low temperature so it was tender. The Omi beef ragu pasta was richly seasoned and satisfying. It made me crave red wine. The cream sauce for the mandarin snapper had a citrusy flavor, spreading the scent of mandarin in my mouth. The sauce had a mochi-like texture. The black wagyu steak was tender and paired well with miso. The side dishes were delicious too. The chicken risotto had a crispy aroma and enjoyable texture. It was fun to see the monaka shell absorb the moisture and become mochi-like. The sweet sake ice cream was delicious. The warm strawberry daifuku was a pleasant surprise. My stomach felt settled with the ginger rooibos tea.
