I have accumulated T-points, some of which have a set expiration date, so I decided to make a reservation at the restaurant "Ginmi" for a Saturday lunch during my day off. I reserved a table for 12:00 and headed towards Nishi Nakasu. The restaurant is located near the famous sushi restaurant "Kawasho" (although I've never been there). The exterior of the restaurant is understated, so it might be easy to miss if you don't look it up beforehand. When I entered the restaurant and informed them of my reservation for one person, I was guided to a room on the left with a counter set for two people, giving me plenty of space. The lunch reservation is by appointment only. I ordered the "Ginmi Special Lunch Course (2,750 yen, tax included)." The first dishes served were steamed egg custard and three appetizers. It was comforting to have the steamed egg custard in the cold weather. Additionally, they mentioned that "today's steamed egg custard sauce uses seven herbs," adding a touch of New Year's atmosphere. The steamed egg custard even contained shirako, making it a luxurious dish. The lunch course consisted of steamed egg custard, three appetizers, sashimi, fried dish, simmered dish, freshly cooked rice in a pot, miso soup, and dessert. Each dish, from the shirako steamed egg custard to the simmered dish using fugu skin, and the fried chicken wings and fried flounder, showed a dedication and love for each ingredient. Enjoying a leisurely lunch while receiving explanations about the dishes made me forget about the lunch break time. A notable highlight was the rice and bonito flakes. A pot was placed in front of the counter, and they explained, "This is freshly cooked rice. It's still steaming, so please wait a little longer." After waiting, I peeked inside the pot and saw shiny grains of rice with a beautiful crab hole. The perfectly cooked and shiny rice grains were a reminder of the deliciousness of rice itself. Just as I thought, "This is enough on its own," the staff recommended, "Please add this bonito flakes." The thinly shaved bonito flakes danced on top of the rice when I added them, and when I drizzled soy sauce and tasted it, it was truly exquisite. It was a blissful taste that made me grateful to be born in Japan. I had been impressed by the delicious dishes up to that point, but this simple and best menu surpassed them all. This delicious rice with bonito flakes was a first for me. I finished the three-cup portion of rice and even enjoyed the dessert of warabi mochi. For the price, it was a high-value lunch. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you for the meal.2750
