This shop has always taken good care of me and is my favorite cake shop in Fukuoka. When I visited after a long time, I saw new products that I had never seen before. With White Day approaching, there were macarons as well, making it hard to choose, but I ended up buying my favorite Praline Chocolate and half-baked cheesecake. Both were as delicious as ever, and I was happy with the care shown by the chef and staff. It was a busy visit, but I left the shop with additional baked goods that my child immediately grabbed the bag to open and consumed almost half of it in no time. I wonder how much they like it. I would like to visit again when things are calmer next time.

First day of traveling in Hakata. Visited the famous Sweets WEST top 100 stores in 2018, 2019, and 2023. It's conveniently located just a short subway ride from Hakata Station. Visited around 6:10 PM on a Monday. All the cakes looked delicious and it was hard to choose. I had plans to buy other sweets as well, so I only bought one item this time. I got the Shortcake for 620 yen (including tax). Ate it as soon as I got back to the hotel. The whipped cream was rich and the aftertaste was refreshing. The cake itself had a nice moist texture. Despite the price, the portion was huge. Still, I finished it in no time. I'm sure the other cakes are delicious too. I envy the locals. Thank you for the meal.

Special edition of Fukuoka souvenir. I use it as a gift for important people. It is also possible to order online, but going to the store on Sakurazaka is not a hassle. The baked goods can be kept at room temperature, which is convenient. The rarity of not having multiple stores is a plus. When you enter the store, beautiful artistic cakes are displayed. Unfortunately, this time I didn't have time to enjoy them, so I had to settle for the baked goods as souvenirs. Among the ones I tried, I recommend the Biscuit Mocador, Coco Sabre, and Amande Noad Pecan Caramelise. The Mocador comes in a box that resembles a cigar box, giving it a special feel. It would have been better to buy two boxes of 10 instead of one box of 15 that didn't fit in my suitcase. The Mocador is a refined treat. The cream has a subtle smoky aroma, not too sweet or heavy. It pairs perfectly with coffee or tea. It's so delicious that I can only sigh in amazement. The other baked goods I purchased were also of excellent quality. The Sabre Coco is made with coconut, and I also bought it because my daughter loves pecan nuts. Although it is a bit pricey, it is definitely recommended as a gift for someone special. My top souvenir is the Biscuit Mocador from Fukuoka Patisserie Au Fil Du Jour.

Visited during my hometown trip. A shop I've always wanted to go to. Got off at Sakurazaka on the Nanakuma Line subway. Enjoyed a dream course of Oyatsuya Yuu → (walk to Ropponmatsu) Amamudakotan → (back to Sakurazaka) Au Four du Jour (*´˘`*)♡ It was a weekday, so there was no line, but customers kept coming in one after another. Purchased the following items: - Tipica 780 yen: Coffee and vanilla mousse with a bitter coffee jelly and sauce inside. A sophisticated taste that I liked. - Tiramisu 570 yen: Original with a subtle mascarpone, coffee flavor, cheese mousse, and lemon jelly at the bottom. A great combination. - Passionata 750 yen: Seasonal item with creme brulee mousse, passion fruit, apricot sauce, and pecan nut crust. Refreshing. - Cake Citron 320 yen: A crumbly texture, not my favorite. - Engadiner 390 yen: Delicious! Preferred the shortbread over the walnut part. - Madeleine Citron 260 yen x2: Just average, I preferred W Boulangerie's version. - Financier 300 yen: Also delicious. - Noix de Pecan Caramelise 990 yen - Sable Coco 858 yen - Sable Amande 858 yen - Sable Diamant 825 yen: Enjoyed these in small portions. All were delicious. The white chocolate on Coco, chocolate on Amande, and the thick square Diamant were particularly tasty. Pecan was crunchy and addictive. The prices are quite high, almost like in Tokyo, but the quality is worth it. Later found out that the Biscuit Mocha Dore is the shop's signature item. Will have to try it next time!

I visited three Sweets Hyakumeiten shops that day, but I felt that this was the most wonderful shop. The atmosphere and feeling of the shop were good and friendly. The first time I visited was after eating sushi at Sakurazaka, I happened to come across this place while walking. I was drawn in by the display of cute cakes, and one in particular caught my eye - a round green cake with droplet-like jelly on top. The name of the cake was Rene Magritte. Inside the cake, there is a mousse made of green apple and lime, with basil and lime jelly, strawberry sauce, and diced green apple and strawberry. I was surprised to see basil in a cake, but it surprisingly works well. It's refreshing, sweet and sour, and makes me feel like summer. It's only available during the summer season, so be sure to check on Instagram for availability. All the other cakes are delicious as well. Although it's a bit pricey, it's worth it for special occasions.

I visited on a Saturday afternoon. I parked my car at the coin parking across the street. There were two groups waiting, but I was able to get in without waiting. Each dish was unique and beautifully presented, making me exclaim "wow" in front of the showcase. I purchased four different items, and they were all as delicious as rumored. The texture and flavor kept me interested until the last bite. It's a bit far from my home, so I can't visit frequently, but I definitely want to come back again.

To protect hospitals and facilities, outdoor dining was prohibited, leading to a difficult period of restraint. When the restrictions were lifted, I finally visited Hosokawa in Yakuin. There, I enjoyed a cake with two options: the Sakura-zaka All Filled Joule and the Beppu Cheesecake Lemon. The All Filled Joule cake had a refined sweetness with a perfect balance of strawberry sweetness and acidity. It was a delicious shortcake.

I purchased a shortcake from Patisserie Au Fil du Jour, a shop I had not visited before while looking for a birthday cake in Fukuoka. The shop recommended keeping the cake with a cooling pack for about 1 hour for takeout, but since I had a longer travel time, they kindly put extra cooling packs in my own cooler bag. When I opened the cake 2-3 hours later, it was still in good condition (although it's best to eat it sooner for the best taste). The cake had a stylish and fashionable appearance, with plenty of sweet and sour strawberries, wrapped in a fluffy cream with a strong milk flavor. The balance of flavors was excellent and it was delicious. I also plan to try other appealing cakes they offer. While waiting for the packaging after my purchase, I saw a mother and child who came to buy a birthday cake, and the child said they wanted a shortcake without strawberries, which made me almost burst out laughing. 😂

Patisserie Au Fil du Jour is a popular dessert shop located a 6-8 minute walk from Sakurazaka Station in Fukuoka. It is known for selling out of cakes quickly in the afternoon, and has been selected as one of the top 100 dessert shops in the Sweets West rankings for 2018 and 2019. The shop has a high reputation and a charming atmosphere. Despite visiting later in the day when many items were sold out, there was still a great selection of delicious cakes. I tried the Shirakuna and Chocola Bananie cakes. Shirakuna features a rich pistachio mousse with a strong pistachio flavor and a refreshing lemon cream accent, while Chocola Bananie combines classic chocolate mousse with caramelized bananas for a delightful crunchy texture. Both cakes were extremely delicious. If you love sweets, this is a must-visit renowned shop. Thank you for the wonderful treats!

I had a seasonal cherry tart and it was delicious! The cherries were sweet and big. The pistachio cream was rich but easy to eat and absolutely delicious. The tart crust was also very tasty. Overall, this cake is always delicious no matter what you order!

Today I had a business trip to Fukuoka. After finishing a meeting, I took the Nishitetsu Nanakuma Line extended to Hakata Station and got off at Sakurazaka Station to buy souvenirs. It's about a 5-minute walk from the station. Patisserie au fil du iour! It's a small and lovely cake shop in a nice town. I was looking for the beautifully designed Biscuit Mocador, which comes in a wooden box design. The packaging (actually paper) is a great idea! It's perfect for a souvenir. So, I bought one for myself as well. Even just one is nicely packaged. The crispy dacquoise pastry is filled with coffee-flavored mocha cream. The slight bitterness is exquisite. It's a sophisticated treat for adults. I look forward to trying their fresh cakes when I have the chance!

The cake was almost 1000 yen each, but it was really heavy and filling! It was sweet and the layers of cream and cake provided a variety of textures, melting in the mouth with a nice aroma. I was recommended this shop along with the Mocha Roll and Millefeuille, so I also bought those along with a chocolate cake that caught my eye. The Millefeuille and chocolate cake were too heavy, so if I go again, I'll try a different kind.

The cakes and baked goods were all very delicious! I'm not very knowledgeable about this, and I haven't eaten at many shops, but this might have been the most satisfying experience I've had so far!
