Located in a back alley along the Nakagawa River, near Nishi Nakasu and Tenjin Chuo Park in Fukuoka's Chuo Ward, is a tofu restaurant called "Mihara Tofu Shop." Established in Saga Prefecture's Kashima City in 1959, this restaurant is operated directly by Mihara Food Co., Ltd. The owner, Hiroki Mihara, is a former J-League player who retired in 2007 and took over the family business with his brother. In 2012, he opened this restaurant in Fukuoka. One of their popular dishes is the "Maboroshi no Atsuage," which is deep-fried tofu. They also serve a popular tofu and pork hot pot dish called "Tofu Buta Negi Shabu Nabe." Additionally, they offer a unique dessert called "Tofu Namachoco," which was introduced in 2016 and received great reviews. The restaurant is a must-visit spot in Fukuoka. In addition to the restaurant, there is a bar on the second floor called "Bar Mihara" and a cafe called "Toffee Park" in the nearby Harenohi Garden East. In 2018, a branch of the restaurant called "Mihara Tofuten Bangkok" was opened in Bangkok, Thailand, in partnership with Chef Gaggan Anand, known for his restaurant "Gaggan." This restaurant is currently very popular and worth a visit.

It's been a while. The restaurant stays open late, has a wide variety of menu options, and is healthy. Not only is it healthy, but it also leaves you feeling satisfied. For the hot pot finale, I chose the truffle-scented risotto. I was already full, so the portion size was just right. The ice cream tofu chocolate with pistachio flavor was delicious and low in calories.

The tofu restaurant is popular and hard to make reservations at. This was my second time visiting at night. We started with the popular thick fried tofu, which was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. We also ordered grilled sesame tofu, uni with yuba and seaweed, soy milk crab cream croquette, and okara pizza. We also had marinated sea bream with kelp. Each dish was carefully made and delicious. I felt like I wanted to go back and eat everything again from the beginning. If I crave delicious tofu dishes again, I will make a reservation early and visit.

■August 2023 I visited Fukuoka for a work trip, so I went to visit alone. I had saved the information about Mihara Tofu Shop that I had seen on TV before. It was located in a corner of a street lined with high-end shops in Nishi Nakasu. The exterior was much more stylish than I had imagined. The staff's uniforms were also cute. I started with a lemon beer at the counter seat. It was a bit sweet. I had the boiled spinach as an appetizer with fresh tuna sashimi. Since I was alone, they served me an individual portion. I appreciated the thoughtfulness. Before dinner, I also had tofu chocolate at the affiliated cafe, Tofuhi. Now, let's get to the tofu dishes I came for. Here's what I had: - Thick fried tofu - Deep-fried rich tofu - Grilled sesame tofu - Yuba roll with minced tuna and green onions The thick fried tofu had a fluffy and creamy texture. The fine batter was crispy. It was unusual for the sesame tofu to be grilled. As soon as it was brought over, the good scent of sesame was fragrant and toasty, and I might like it more than regular sesame tofu. The sweet sauce was also delicious. For tofu lovers, there were many options to choose from, and I carefully selected these dishes. If there were more people, I could have tried various dishes. I will definitely visit again! It was delicious, thank you for the meal.

I made a reservation and visited the restaurant. There were many delicious dishes, including the elusive thick fried tofu. The variety of tofu dishes was amazing! ⭕️ Must-try: the mythical thick fried tofu, so fluffy ⭕️ Tofu croquette with soy milk, a melty croquette ⭕️ Tofu chocolate, with 4 different flavors, was also amazing. I think all women will love it!

A corner where high-end stores line up in Nakasu Kawabata. I saw Hakkata Hanamaru and Daikichi wearing a T-shirt with "Mihara Tofu Store" written on the back while watching TV at the hotel before, so I looked it up out of curiosity. I couldn't go last time, so I made a reservation this time. My father loves tofu so much haha Mihara Tofu Store is a tofu store located in Kashima, Saga Prefecture. They use beautiful water from Kashima and domestically produced soybeans mainly from Saga Prefecture to create tofu that allows you to taste the rich umami of soybeans. You can also enjoy their tofu here in Hakata. They even have a online shop for their famous thick fried tofu. The first floor and the second floor have a chic atmosphere. Perfect for a date. The second floor has a more casual atmosphere. We visited as a family, so we were guided to a table on the second floor. This time, we ordered: Thick fried tofu, Cold tofu with rich tofu, Kenichi-san's fried tofu (a great person from Mihara Tofu Store), Tofu dengaku, Vinegar motsu, Potato salad with green onions and chicken cartilage, Octopus and celery marinade, and Horse mackerel seaweed roll. The thick fried tofu was recommended and it was delicious! The tofu was deep-fried, crispy on the outside, and creamy on the inside. It disappeared in an instant. The cold tofu with salt was simple and easy to understand the taste of tofu. It has a rich soybean flavor. The dengaku was lovely. This also disappeared in an instant. The potato salad was a bit unique, with green onions, chicken cartilage, and garlic chips, giving it a punchy flavor. This is also liked by young people who want a punch. Goes well with beer! The vinegar motsu was a little different from the usual vinegar motsu, with a hint of yuzu pepper. The horse mackerel seaweed roll comes with pickled daikon radish and shiso leaf rolled together. I never thought of pickled daikon radish with horse mackerel... this was also a new taste and delicious. The octopus and celery marinade has salted kelp in it, which I like. My mother said she would try to imitate this at home. Thank you for the meal! Recommended Points: The atmosphere is great, so it's perfect for a date or a girls' night out. Tofu, so no guilt.

Fukuoka's top-notch tofu dishes are a sure bet. The desserts are on par with those found in high-end bars. However, the service is lacking, more like second-rate. During the pandemic, they worked hard and provided excellent service, but this time it was disappointing. As a popular spot, they should strive to provide pleasant service.

"This is truly the disappearing tofu in your mouth." I always visit this popular restaurant in Nishi Nakasu, even though it's always crowded. They cook right in front of you, and the hot thick tofu is delicious. The chic and clean atmosphere is perfect for a girls' night out. The tofu container decorations outside are also lovely. Nearby, there is a cafe run by the same company, so tofu and soy milk lovers should definitely check it out! The udon noodles in the photo are a rare menu item served with cold soy milk-based broth, perfect for hot summer days."

This is a good restaurant for young people. The wine selection is not great, so I wouldn't recommend it for wine lovers. We ordered a variety of dishes, but the fried thick tofu was fantastic. It's similar to what you can find in supermarkets, but the batter is finer and crispier. Other than that, nothing really stood out to me.

I finally got to visit the Sanbara Tofu Shop, which I had been curious about for a long time but couldn't find the right timing to make a reservation. When I looked through the handwritten menu, all the dishes looked delicious. Since the dishes are mainly tofu-based, they were gentle on the stomach and body. It was a wonderful experience!

■Overall Impression I made a reservation here after a year, and this is one of the more casual and accessible restaurants in Nishi Nakasu. However, when I tried to make a reservation on TableCheck, I found that even on a weekday, the earliest available time was 8:30 pm, which shows how incredibly popular this place is. I visited alone, and I couldn't help but notice an elderly person who seemed to be from Tokyo casually striking up a conversation with a woman who also seemed to be from Tokyo. I thought to myself, "I could never do that." ■Beer I started with a beer, and it was delicious right from the first sip. ■Tofu Greeting This tofu dish served as a greeting was the third most delicious dish based on the score information I was jotting down. It was unexpectedly incredibly tasty. ■Thick Fried Tofu This is a must-order dish here. Even the thick fried tofu from Sanemoto Tofu Shop, which you can buy at Lalaport, doesn't compare to this. It may be small in size, but it is incredibly delicious. It tastes like cheese. When ordering as a group, make sure each person gets one. This was the most delicious dish. ■Chilled Tofu This was a tofu lover's dream. There are many other dishes available, but I wanted to stick with tofu. This dish was also delicious, with a strong soybean flavor, but it ranked fifth in my personal ranking. ■Crab Cream Croquette This dish received the same score as the chilled tofu. I could already tell from the thick fried tofu that they know how to fry things well. By the way, this was a menu item I didn't order last time. ■Korean Style Tofu This was another menu item I didn't order last time, and it ranked the lowest in my personal ranking. Still, it scored 3.9, showing the high level of all the dishes. I would definitely want to eat this with a bowl of rice. ■Yuba Sashimi This is a must-order dish. I thought you could only eat delicious yuba in Kyoto, but I also enjoyed it at the all-you-can-eat pork shabu-shabu in Aeon Mall, where you could make yuba in a broth with soy milk. The yuba here was incredibly delicious as well, ranking second. ■Soy Milk Udon This is what women usually order as the final dish here, similar to tofu chocolate. However, I find this to be overwhelmingly delicious compared to the tofu chocolate. It ranked fourth, but it still scored over 4 points. I had it with toffee, but assuming it's the same as chocolate, it scored 3.6. So let's have some udon. If there's a udon map feature, I would recommend this place or Katara Fukumamman's udon (which should have been featured in Season 1). Thank you for the meal.

Kamimaru is also a well-known restaurant in Hakata. Tofu is included in all the dishes, but each dish is carefully crafted so you won't get tired of it. A must-try is the thick fried tofu which has a crispy exterior and a soft interior that is hard to pick up with chopsticks. The tofu hot pot and risotto that I tried for the first time were exceptionally delicious. The restaurant has a simple yet stylish atmosphere, and it was full when I visited. They don't offer courses or a wide selection of shochu bottles, but the prices are reasonable. Highly recommended.

I finally got to visit the famous tofu restaurant, Sanbara Tofu, that my friend reserved for me in Fukuoka. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was amazing. We started with highball and enjoyed dishes like thick fried tofu, yuba, potato salad, and hot tofu, all of which were incredibly delicious. We ended our meal with soy milk udon, but unfortunately, it was sold out. I will definitely come back for it next time. It was a long time since I had such a happy dining experience. Recommended by a friend, I finally managed to visit this restaurant during my trip to Fukuoka. The menu looked so delicious that I wanted to try everything, but I focused on tofu dishes due to limited stomach capacity. The signature dish, thick fried tofu, was amazing, as well as the sesame tofu and deep-fried tofu. I didn't get tired of all the tofu dishes and enjoyed them all. The tofu chocolate dessert and tofu gelato were also delicious. The variety of drinks was excellent too! I definitely want to go back again!

A long-established tofu shop in Kashima City, Saga Prefecture, established in 1959, located in Nishinakasu next to Nakasu. This izakaya uses mainly products from Mihara Foods, such as tofu and soy milk, for most of its food menu. The thick fried tofu in a spherical shape and the visually appealing tofu raw chocolate are particularly popular. The tofu raw chocolate uses tofu and soy milk in the same amount as chocolate, making it about half the calories and sugar of regular raw chocolate. It has a gentle melt-in-your-mouth texture. In addition to the delicious taste, the stylish interior and menu focused on tofu and soy milk attract many female customers. It seems to be popular for dates and girls' nights out. The drink menu includes a variety of sake and craft gin.

The rice restaurant specializing in tofu is delicious because you can directly taste the flavor of the beans. Every menu item allows you to enjoy the delicious taste of beans, so tofu should not be underestimated! It would be great if you could use this tofu in your daily tofu dishes.

Visited with a friend after a long time. Walked about 10 minutes from Tenjin towards Nakasu to arrive. The staff was friendly and looking forward to eating. The famous thick fried tofu was consistently delicious. My friend ordered the champuru, which was also exquisite. Finally, we ordered the soy milk raw chocolate, which was also amazing. They had three flavors - chocolate, roasted green tea, and matcha, but personally, I thought the chocolate was the best. The raw chocolate can also be taken out, so my friend bought some to take home. I want to go back again. If they had all-you-can-drink options, I would visit even more.

I visited a long-established tofu shop in Saga that also runs an izakaya where you can enjoy a variety of tofu dishes as well as meat and fish. I remembered a dish from my previous visit where you eat meat with grated wasabi, and it was still on the menu this time. Here is what I ordered: Spanish mackerel for 1200 yen, bonito tataki for 1200 yen, a unique salad for 750 yen, yuba-wrapped negitoro for 1500 yen, tofu hot pot with soy milk broth and Itoshima pork for 1600 yen, pear and persimmon salad for 800 yen, garlic shrimp with okara for 850 yen, two sesame tofu for 500 yen, shirako with ponzu sauce for 1200 yen, Korean-style meat tofu for 600 yen, mysterious thick fried tofu for 600 yen, tofu and seaweed satsuma-age for 700 yen, oil-soaked oysters for 750 yen, tempura white fish for 1200 yen, grilled Agu pork with grated wasabi for 1000 yen, tofu gelato and chewy tofu affogato for 750 yen, and pistachio tofu gelato for 750 yen. The mysterious thick fried tofu is disappearing from menus as it becomes more common in supermarkets, but it's definitely much more delicious here. Thank you for the feast.

A tofu specialty store located about a 5-minute walk from Nakasu Kawabata Station. I tried to make a same-day reservation on a holiday once, but they were fully booked only for late hours, so I decided to visit another day. The second floor, private rooms, and counter seating create a slightly small but stylish atmosphere. Being in Nishi-Nakasu, the area wasn't too noisy even at night. The menu included: - Maboroshi fried tofu - Yuba sashimi - Yuba roll with negitoro - Potato salad with green onions and cartilage - Miso hormone and grilled tofu - Tofu and Itojima pork champuru - Mapo tofu - Tofu raw chocolate The Maboroshi fried tofu had a crispy exterior and a fluffy interior. Each piece was just the right size. The potato salad had a unique texture due to the cartilage, providing a different eating experience. The tofu raw chocolate was rich and I particularly enjoyed the matcha flavor. The service was excellent, and there are still dishes I haven't tried yet, so I would like to revisit.

It was quite difficult to make a reservation, but after waiting for over 2 weeks, I finally got one! They have a wide variety of tofu dishes, high-quality seasoning, and attentive service. The atmosphere is also great, so I recommend sitting at the counter! The most surprising thing was how delicious the tofu chocolate was.

As expected from a tofu shop, the tofu-based dishes all had a rich soybean aroma and flavor, making them very delicious. In particular, the thick fried tofu and deep-fried tofu were outstanding. However, popular menu items like yuba and yakko were constantly sold out, which was disappointing. I will make sure to visit earlier next time.
