■Wednesday 11:10 AM: There were 11 people waiting in line. 11:25 AM: Entered the restaurant. Seated at the counter on the 1st floor (8 seats). 11:45 AM: Served the meal. 12:15 PM: Left the restaurant. No waiting time. ■Ordered the "Tori Mabushi Mizutaki Gomoku Gozen" for 2,200 yen. Also ordered a half-boiled egg for 110 yen. - Tori Mabushi: ① As is ② With your favorite condiments ③ Mixed with a half-boiled egg ④ Pour the Mizutaki soup over the chicken (especially the skin) for a crispy and fragrant taste. - Mizutaki: The chicken is tender and has a refined umami flavor. The dumplings are juicy with a chewy texture. Enjoy it with citrus ponzu sauce and various condiments like salt, shichimi, yuzu pepper, etc. ■Notes: The table in front of me was a grilling station, and the sizzling sound of the meat cooking was appetizing. Overall, the taste was elegant and gentle. The Tori Mabushi offered a variety of flavors to enjoy.

I went on a Sunday afternoon, but there were nearly 20 people in line. The shop did not show any consideration towards those waiting in line, and there was an atmosphere that lining up was just expected. In particular, elderly female staff members came out multiple times to remind people to line up properly, but there was no explanation of where to line up, causing confusion among those waiting. If they are going to remind people so many times, they should at least provide instructions on where to line up and how to do so. After waiting for about 80 minutes, the food was just average. There was no sense of gratitude towards the customers, so I don't plan on going back. This is just my personal opinion.

I visited a restaurant during my solo trip where I could enjoy water hot pot. I was delighted to find out they also served chicken hitsumabushi. I ordered the Hitsumabushi Water Hot Pot Set. The menu recommended four different ways to enjoy the hitsumabushi, so I followed their suggestion. For the first serving, I tried it as is, then with condiments, followed by a hot spring egg, and finally with the hot pot soup poured over it. Each way was delicious in its own right. The water hot pot was also served with yuzu pepper as a nice touch. It was a luxurious dining experience. Thank you for the meal!

Last day of the trip in Hakata. Heading to Hiroshima in the afternoon. The only regret is that I haven't tried Mizutaki yet. Looking for a restaurant that I can make it in time for the 11:48 Shinkansen. Most famous Mizutaki restaurants open in the evening. There are only a few that open before 11:30. Luckily, I found a place that opens at 10:30. Gratefully, there were detailed reviews from entering to leaving the restaurant. This place serves both "Torimabushi" and Mizutaki. Ordering both might take time, so I decided to go for Mizutaki to save time. Visited on Wednesday around 10:20. Already about 6 groups were waiting in line, and half of them were foreign tourists (Koreans). The line wasn't too long, so it seemed okay. The restaurant opened at 10:30. Managed to get in on the first round. Ordered one by one, which was unexpected, so I hurried to order. - Hakata Mizutaki Set Meal 2,200 yen (Chose Kashiwa rice) Most customers ordered Torimabushi. I'll try that next time. The food arrived in less than 20 minutes. The chicken was delicious dipped in ponzu sauce. So tender and flavorful! The chicken skin was crispy and melty! It was a surprising and delightful experience. The pot had plenty of cabbage and chicken meatballs with a crunchy texture. Tried the Mizutaki soup, which had a subtle chicken flavor. Personally, I found it a bit bland. The Kashiwa rice was well-seasoned. Finished the meal while sipping the soup. Spent about 35 minutes in total from entering to leaving. Made it to the Shinkansen with plenty of time. The chicken was so tender and delicious. It was a great memory. Thank you for the meal.

I tried the Torimabushi that I was curious about. First, I ordered the Torimabushi that I wanted. While looking at the menu, I couldn't resist the temptation of ordering the liver simmered dish and shochu on the same page. The liver simmered dish had a slightly raw texture, and although the sauce was delicious, I prefer it to be simmered for a longer time. As for the Torimabushi, it had a refined seasoning and was easy to eat.

Recommended by a local, I visited this place and was surprised to see a long line of inbound tourists. Despite being nearby, I had never visited before. The traditional store has a counter on the first floor where I tried the Tori-mabushi. Grilled chicken cooked over charcoal, served with various condiments similar to Nagoya's hitsumabushi, allowing you to enjoy different flavors. It was a unique and enjoyable experience, and I definitely want to come back again.

Had lunch with my colleagues at a restaurant where there is usually a long line, but we were lucky to get in without waiting. The chicken rice bowl had crispy skin and juicy meat, providing a satisfying portion. Not only could we enjoy it as is, but also with onsen egg, condiments, and broth, making it a total of four different ways to enjoy the dish.

I visited for lunch. I arrived before 12 o'clock so I was able to get in without waiting. I ordered the set meal with chicken and rice bowl and hot pot. I also ordered a soft-boiled egg as a topping. The price for this set with hot pot included is really good value. The taste was also excellent. Lastly, I poured the hot pot broth over the chicken and rice bowl to make a porridge and ate it. I will definitely go back when I'm in Fukuoka on business.

Visited this restaurant with a colleague who came on a business trip from Tokyo for the first time. We made a reservation for 6 pm on a weekday and it's a must to reserve as the restaurant gets full quickly after opening. We ordered the Yamasaka course for 5,000 yen with a 1.5-hour all-you-can-drink option, which allows you to enjoy various specialties of Hakata. In Fukuoka, when eating Mizutaki (chicken hot pot), the servers usually assist you by providing the soup first, then you add the ingredients to the pot and enjoy the finished dish. However, this time, as we opted for the budget-friendly course, we did everything ourselves. The food was not exceptional but the cost performance was great. The restaurant is conveniently located near a subway station, making it perfect for taking out-of-town guests before they head back to Hakata Station or Fukuoka Airport.

I wanted to eat Mizutaki and Tori Mabushi, so I went to Torimabushi in Nakasu! There was a long line even in the afternoon, so my expectations were high. The Mizutaki was delicious, and so were the mentaiko and seseri-yaki. Next time, I want to go at night and enjoy it with some drinks. I will definitely go back!

I went for my last lunch in Fukuoka (or was it breakfast?!) and found a place where you can eat and drink from 10:30am, which I thought was quite rare, so I headed there. I didn't make a reservation, but I figured it's early in the morning so I should be able to get in, right? When I arrived just 5 minutes before opening, they said there was already a reservation. By 11am, the place was completely full. I ordered the set with grilled chicken and hot pot for 2,200 yen, which was a great value, and enjoyed some beer and sake as well. I left feeling very satisfied.

The first time trying Mizutaki was amazing. It was arranged by a local during a business trip. It was delicious, despite being noisy with chickens. The staff were very attentive and left a great impression. It was the most delicious Mizutaki in Fukuoka.

I visited this restaurant for lunch. My friend had reserved the Donntaku course. The Mizutaki (chicken hot pot) was prepared with meatballs and chicken in the soup, already cooked. After sitting down, I tried the soup... it was delicious! I also added vegetables into the soup at the right timing. They confirmed additional orders, so you can order more if you're still hungry. We didn't order any extras as we were considering the rice. The Torimabushi (grilled chicken over rice) was served in three parts, like Hitsumabushi. First, as it is, with the grilled chicken being fragrant. Then with condiments... and finally, with the Mizutaki soup poured over it. For dessert, we had strawberries with condensed milk. It was really delicious. Thank you for the meal (^^) It seems to be a popular restaurant, as the staff kept turning down calls on the phone. Reservations are a must.

Visited with a friend from out of town. Arrived within a 5-minute walk from Nakasu Kawabata Station. Made a reservation. The first floor has a counter, and the second floor has table seating. It was a Saturday night, and there was a sign at the entrance stating that it was fully booked with reservations. We chose the Yamakasa course, which came with all-you-can-drink. Started with appetizers, followed by the main hot pot dish. The soup was not too strong, just the right flavor. The ponzu sauce was not too sour, making it easy to eat. Then came the grilled chicken. We tried it four ways: 1) as is, 2) with condiments, 3) with a half-cooked egg we ordered separately, and 4) with the hot pot soup poured over it. We enjoyed all the different ways. The course with all-you-can-drink left us full and satisfied. Definitely want to go back!

I visited the restaurant again because I really liked it the last time. This time, I was seated at the counter on the first floor right after the opening. I left around 11 am, and by then the first floor was already full. The chicken was tender and the skin was crispy, just as delicious as before. The hot pot soup was also incredibly tasty and addictive. Thank you for the meal. I would like to visit again.

Fukuoka: A restaurant in Nakasu, Hakata Ward. Reservations by phone for Torimabushi started a month ago. Ordered the Tsutsuji Course. - Vinegar skin, yuba tofu, squid mentaiko - Grilled chicken wings - Mizutaki - Torimabushi, pickles - Frozen amaou strawberries with condensed milk. It was fully booked on the weekend, so it must be a popular place. There were many tourists and overseas customers. Being close to the station seems to be a chosen point. With this lineup for 3850 yen, you can definitely eat your fill.【Instagram Account】@torimabushi【Restaurant Name】Torimabushi【Address】5-3-18 Nakasu, Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City【Business Hours】10:30-21:00 (Last Order)【Budget】5000-6000 yen【Order】- Tsutsuji Course: 3850 yen

I received a set of Fukuoka specialties, Mizutaki (chicken hot pot) and Torimabushi (grilled chicken with toppings). First, I enjoyed the plump chicken meat and mountain of vegetables in the Mizutaki. The broth is meant to be poured over the Torimabushi, so be careful not to drink too much! It was delicious and I finished it quickly. The Torimabushi, with its fragrant grilled chicken and condiments like wasabi, was also tasty. Although the service was quite slow, possibly due to it being a busy period, the flavors were definitely good! The counter on the first floor and the table seats on the second floor were fully booked, with a long line outside. This is a must-visit restaurant for travelers!

I finally tried the famous Tori-mabushi (grilled chicken over rice). I had heard there was always a long line, so I went right after they opened and was able to get in without waiting. However, I recommend making a reservation in advance as they can be fully booked on some days (reservations are only accepted for set courses). I tried the Tori-mabushi Gozen Tokujou, which comes with premium quality kashiwa rice. They use Hana-midori chicken, a famous brand from Hakata, and the chicken was incredibly tender and delicious. It was a great place where you can enjoy both Hana-midori chicken and Mizutaki (chicken hot pot) at the same time. It was really delicious.

I lined up for 2 hours for lunch last time, and I wanted to try it again, so I went at night this time, but it was full and I couldn't get in. I even tried to make a reservation for my last day of stay through a reservation site, but it was full and I couldn't make a reservation, so I lined up for lunch on the last day. This time it only took about an hour, but I still felt it was worth lining up. If you can plan ahead, I recommend making an early reservation. I had the Mizutaki and Torimabushi Omotenashi with grilled chicken skin. The condiments, ponzu and homemade red yuzu pepper, were delicious.

During a business trip to Fukuoka, I used this restaurant for lunch. It is located near Nakasu Kawabata Station. I arrived 10 minutes before opening and there was already a line, but I managed to get in on the first round. The most popular dish is the chicken rice bowl, but today I ordered the boiled chicken set. You can choose between white rice and chicken rice, and I chose chicken rice without hesitation! It was very delicious. Next time, I want to try the chicken rice bowl.

When I visited this restaurant in Fukuoka, I was surprised to see a long line. It used to be empty when I went before. After waiting for an hour, I finally got in. I ordered the "torimabushi," and this time I tried the special version for 1925 yen. The difference between special and regular is whether it comes with chicken skin rice. Now, let's enjoy the torimabushi. First, I tried it as it is, then added a soft-boiled egg, and finally poured the soup over it. It was incredibly delicious. Personally, I prefer adding a seasoned egg and my favorite condiments. Thank you for the meal.
