With the cherry blossoms blooming, it's time for hanami (flower viewing) season! As a middle-aged person like me, drinking outdoors at night is too cold and could risk my health (lol). So, I chose "Sakuramasa," where there are cherry trees on the premises to leisurely enjoy the view while dining. The first floor has counter seats for a meat kaiseki course, while the second floor has three private rooms with sunken roasters (horikotatsu), table seating, and a bar counter, making it a versatile restaurant for dates, business meetings, and parties. Today, we had an early hanami gathering for a group of 15, so we combined the partitions of the three second-floor rooms into one. The course we ordered today was as follows: - Yakiniku Course Kagura ¥5,800 - All-you-can-drink ¥2,000 - Additional curry ¥500 The dishes included kimchi assortment, Sakuramasa salad, assorted salt-grilled dishes, assorted grilled vegetables, Wagyu beef curry, and a sweet treat (monaka ice cream). "Sakuramasa" is operated by the meat wholesaler "Gyusho Kagura." They also run their own yakiniku restaurants in Kyoto and Shiga, showcasing their confidence in the quality of their meat. The course we had today was reasonably priced and truly delicious. While I usually enjoy dining at the first-floor counter, having a large group gathering for a party was also great! For those who find it too cold to be outside during cherry blossom season, this is a must-visit spot to enjoy high-quality meat and cherry blossoms. I look forward to visiting again.

【Check Points】 - Meat dishes directly managed by Seiniku Oroshi Gyoshou Kagura - Course duration: 2 hours Enjoy meat dishes in the stylish machiya space of Nikuya Sakuramai, directly managed by Seiniku Oroshi. Located close to the intersection of Karasuma Oike, just a 2-minute walk from Oike Station. The exterior features beautiful indirect lighting and a cobblestone approach where cherry trees shine, offering a view of the machiya. The interior has a calm Japanese atmosphere with counter seats on the 1st floor and private rooms on the 2nd floor. Being a store directly managed by Seiniku Oroshi Gyoshou Kagura, they can provide high-quality ingredients. You can enjoy various dishes from raw meat to grilled items for a price of under 10,000 yen, which is pleasing. This time, we ordered the Sakuramai course for 8,800 yen, along with additional orders of tongue and Chateaubriand. - Cold Corn Soup: Natural sweetness and a refreshing taste. - Agi (jaw meat) Yubiki: Tender and flavorful jaw meat that melts in your mouth. - Tongue and Harami (skirt steak) Sashimi: Eating tongue sashimi and harami sashimi makes you feel like you're back in Kansai. The tongue has a sweet taste, and the harami is fresh and flavorful. - Roast Beef: Tender with a good amount of fat and a moist texture. - Grilled Items (Salt) / Sagari (hanging tender), Tsurami (flap meat), and Tongue: Sagari has a rich flavor, Tsurami is wrapped in grated daikon radish, and the tongue is juicy. - Grilled Items (Sauce) / Harami and Rolled Loin: The sauce wraps around the harami and loin nicely, and they are deliciously grilled over charcoal. - Chateaubriand: Medium rare with a strong and tender lean meat that tastes delicious. - White Fig Ohitashi (boiled and seasoned dish): Refreshing and palate cleansing. - Thinly Grilled Meat and a Bite of Rice: Enjoy sirloin, black shichimi pepper, and miso sauce. The thinly sliced sirloin is not too fatty and tastes delicious. - Curry: A flavorful curry packed with the richness of meat. You can enjoy meat at a reasonable price in a stylish atmosphere. This time, I visited here looking forward to enjoying the meat, which had a good reputation. The appearance with a Kyoto-like atmosphere near Karasuma Oike Station gives off a vibe similar to a Kyoto cuisine restaurant. The first floor has a counter, and the second floor offers private rooms for dining, and this time we were guided to a private room. The interior is bright with a mature and calm feeling with fresh flowers. The room is equipped with a roaster like a yakiniku restaurant, allowing you to enjoy yakiniku smoke-free. It's a relief that you don't have to worry about getting your eyes irritated or your clothes smelling like smoke. The young staff with blonde hair was a bit surprising but their service was polite and likable. The meat dishes were indeed of high quality, reflecting the fact that it's a restaurant associated with a butcher shop. The meat was visually and taste-wise excellent. We chose to have it on the roaster to enjoy it according to our preferences. The meat sashimi, yukhoe, and yakiniku were all of good quality, with cuts like harami for sashimi and tongue for yukhoe. The ginger soy sauce and soy sauce dips highlighted the deliciousness of the meat, sticking to the basics. We also tried the shiromono yudofu and tail soup, and overall, we were able to enjoy a delicious meal. Considering the quality of the meat, the bill was reasonable. I would like to visit again with friends when craving good meat. Thank you for the feast.

I have visited this place several times, but this time was my first private room experience. The counter on the first floor prepares and grills the food for you! The private rooms on the second floor allow you to grill your own food or have it grilled for you. Smoking is allowed in the private rooms, so it's recommended for smokers. The beautifully presented meat sashimi was rich in flavor and very delicious. We made a last-minute reservation, so there was a time limit, but we were able to enjoy our meal leisurely. I recommend making a reservation in advance! The atmosphere in the hidden gem-like building, typical of Kyoto, is also great.

Today, in response to the request of "I want to eat meat," my meat-loving family visited the restaurant. We were guided to a calm private room on the second floor at Sakuramasa in Karasuma Oike, starting with a nicely chilled draft beer. We had pre-booked the most popular "Meat Kaiseki Course" under the name "Sakuramasa" for 9,680 yen. The concept seemed to be "enjoying high-quality meat in the most delicious way of cooking and eating," with a wide variety of cuts and cooking methods on display. We warmed up our stomachs with the "warm soup of new burdock" and then proceeded with about three courses of raw meat. I particularly enjoyed the "raw tongue." Grilled to perfection with asparagus in between, followed by a series of rare cuts with detailed explanations unique to the kaiseki course, it was truly enjoyable. The final stage, from grilled edamame to meat-wrapped rice balls, was a great delight for the whole family. Our favorites were "ichibo" and "ramushin." For the finale, we could choose between "curry rice" or "ramen." Both were light and satisfying in small portions. The curry was a hearty beef curry, and the ramen had a light beef bone soup. We shared them as a family and enjoyed both. The dishes were not the only highlight; the tableware was also lovely. It was said to be specially ordered from the Shigaraki-yaki kiln, perfectly complementing the meat kaiseki. When it comes to eating meat, it's easy to fall into the rut of steak or yakiniku, but this "Meat Kaiseki Course" seems to be a perfect fit. We left fully satisfied.

A detached house near Karasuma Oike. We reserved a private room and had dinner with our family. The Kagura yakiniku course includes appetizers, salad, roast beef, 8 types of meat, 3 types of vegetables, and dessert. It also includes hormone-based meats. Since there were young family members, we added 3 items of meat from the menu. We started with beer for drinks. The wine list is simple but offers a range of prices from affordable to expensive. The Burgundy Pinot was light but flavorful, and paired well with the yakiniku. The private room allows smoking, but as non-smokers, we didn't mind the smell. The service was good. We were able to relax as a family.

Located a little up from Oike Karasuma Street in Kyoto, this hidden gem of a restaurant has a stylish exterior with a charming entrance through a small garden! Inside, there are 8 counter seats and semi-private and private rooms on the second floor! This place offers both the option of having fresh meat dishes prepared for you and a DIY yakiniku style where you can grill your own meat ☺️ The meat is exquisite and the chic ambiance makes it perfect for dates or entertaining clients❗️Instagram @nozawayuta TikTok @yuuta0104gurume

Thanks to the butcher shop's meat dishes at "Sakura Shin," you can enjoy the best quality meat at a reasonable price! The renovated traditional townhouse has a calm atmosphere. The entrance area is also lovely. The restaurant has counter seats on the first floor, table seats on the second floor, and private rooms. There are two course options where you can choose the contents and portion size. The courses include homemade roast beef, marinated grilled meat, salt-grilled meat, grilled vegetables, salad, soup, sukiyaki-style meat with rice, and dessert like ice cream.

I didn't know there was such a restaurant in Kyoto! Near Karasuma Oike, it's a stylish old folk house-style restaurant with a nice garden! I thought it was a yakiniku restaurant, but they cook the meat for you inside! So convenient! They have a variety of meat sashimi which is hard to come by, so I'm happy! The tongue sashimi is amazing! The belly meat sashimi just melts in your mouth! The fillet meat is light and goes well with rice! The ramen as a finishing touch was a tail soup ramen! A bite-sized ramen to finish off is good!

As expected, all the dishes are well-prepared and delicious, thanks to their expertise in handling meat! It's nice to be greeted by beautiful marbled meat in the refrigerator right at the entrance. They have private rooms and a counter, where you can enjoy watching the chef cook and great interaction. The head chef is very friendly and creates a wonderful atmosphere, making you want to come back again. Both the tongue and steak were incredibly delicious! The timing of the dishes coming out was perfect! Thank you for the meal!

I visited a well-known yakiniku restaurant in Kyoto with high expectations. I used a private room on the second floor with my colleagues. The atmosphere from the exterior, entrance, hallway, staircase, and room was very appealing. Although the interior design was not particularly new to me due to having relatives in Kyoto, I believe it would be fresh and impressive to visitors from outside the prefecture or abroad. The private room on the second floor was clean without any noticeable grease stains, and it was very cozy. The meat was as expected, and the attention to detail in the tableware created a nice ambiance. I realized how much tableware can influence the impression of the ingredients. While the meal was mainly self-cooked, there was a menu where some items were brought already cooked. It was a bit disappointing that they arrived slightly cold. I think they would have been even more delicious if they were served piping hot. We had a lively conversation and ordered quite a bit of alcohol, which may have contributed to the final bill being higher than expected (compared to the average amount on Tabelog). Considering the high expectations and reputation, these points stood out to me. If I hear that friends from overseas or outside the prefecture are looking for a restaurant in Kyoto, I would recommend this place. I would like to try dining at the counter on the first floor next time to enjoy dishes served piping hot.

Machiyo Street is a one-way street heading south from Oike Street, so you can't drive north from there. You can either get off at the Machiyo Oike intersection by taxi and walk, or ask the driver to drop you off in front of the restaurant from a reachable road. I passed by the restaurant in a taxi. We had the counter-only course for two people. Since we made a reservation for 8 p.m. on a weekday, we were the only ones at the counter until we left. The fresh sashimi came with two sauces, one with soy sauce and the other with sesame oil and salt, allowing us to enjoy different flavors. The grilled beef liver was served with mustard soy sauce. The Chateaubriand came with wasabi, rock salt, and garlic chips. I'm writing this from memory, but there were also dishes like tongue, sagari, kaburi, and other unfamiliar cuts of meat. When I asked a young female server about them, she replied with a smile, "I'm not quite sure myself." It would be helpful if the staff were a bit more knowledgeable, although it's probably best to ask the owner. My companion ordered a glass of shochu on the rocks before the wine, and the owner served us 'Yasuda' from Kagoshima, which had a taste that didn't interfere with the red wine we had later and was very delicious without being too starchy. The small curry and mini monaka ice cream served at the end were also delicious. The atmosphere of the restaurant, which used to be a kimono store, was lovely. As soon as you took off your shoes and stepped inside the Japanese-style interior, there was an upright piano. I'd like to visit during cherry blossom season.

You can enjoy high-quality cuts of beef prepared raw, roasted, or as steak. The cozy atmosphere makes for a pleasant dining experience. The alcohol selection is somewhat limited.

It was a meat cuisine restaurant that catered to my picky eating habits but still served delicious food. Despite the large amount of food, I never got tired of it and always enjoyed the meat dishes. I would love to come back again.

I had a kaiseki meal. I had requested in advance over the phone for a smaller portion for one person and to adjust the price accordingly. However, in reality, there was no confirmation and the usual amount was served. It was a counter seat, but the chef didn't say a word or even bid farewell when we left. Just for that, the restaurant's rating is quite low. As for the taste, at this price for this quality of food, I wouldn't go back again. I don't understand why it has high ratings.

[Visit on February 29, 2019 (Saturday, Fuji-Q Day) around 7:00 PM, first visit] I had dinner with a lovely guest. We tried kaburi (100g) for 2,400 yen, tanshita (80g) for 880 yen, upper ham (80g) for 2,400 yen, tan (80g) for 2,400 yen, thick-sliced upper tan (80g) for 3,200 yen, etc... I was impressed by the vegetable potage that came out first, it was very delicious and I wanted to ask for seconds, but since I was with a guest, I held back. Next time, I might ask for more *laughs*. The other day, on NHK's "What's Your Name, Japan?", they were doing a segment on "nicknaming your grilled meat" and I was thinking, "It's a hassle, so I wish the staff would just grill it for me..." It was too timely and made me chuckle *laughs*. So, this is a restaurant where they grill the meat and serve it to you. Everything was incredibly delicious. This time, I only had meat, but next time, I want to have some vegetables too. Thank you for the feast♪
