Nowadays, the popular "Suzukake" sweets are also delicious in Tokyo and Nagoya. The main store is located here in Fukuoka. The opening of Suzukake Isetan Shinjuku store in 2002 was a shock as it was the first time a famous store from Hakata expanded outside the prefecture. Suzunomochi, cute, delicious, these sweets are still very popular. Suzunomochi 108 yen, Suzuno-nakano 108 yen, Strawberry Daifuku 334 yen, Yomogi-an-mochi 183 yen, Black bean yellow powder Ohagi 237 yen. Speaking of Suzukake, it has to be the "Strawberry Daifuku"! First of all, the strawberries used are Amaou from Fukuoka (red, round, big, delicious), and the sweetness of Amaou is well suited for making Strawberry Daifuku from January to April. (Currently, a new variety called Natsumizuki is used from late June to the end of July.) It is also very popular at the main store, selling out once in the afternoon, and adding more Strawberry Daifuku at the checkout! I was able to eat Strawberry Daifuku in Hakata somehow! And taking a bite of this Strawberry Daifuku with fresh strawberries, first the juicy strawberry juice overflows. Then, the exquisite sweetness of the anko, which is carefully balanced, follows. Suzukake's Strawberry Daifuku is all about savoring the strawberries. It is designed to make these strawberries taste as delicious as possible. It might even make the strawberries taste even better. It is not common to hear about fruit juice in traditional Japanese sweets, but this Strawberry Daifuku overflows with fruit juice, to the point where you can even taste the acidity of the strawberries, maximizing their flavor. So, everyone will line up at Suzukake during this season. They will gladly wrap even just one for you. It would be greatly appreciated as a souvenir. After enjoying Suzunomochi and Suzuno-nakano, I tried the "Black bean yellow powder Ohagi," which was incredibly delicious! The refined koshi-an, which goes down smoothly without sticking to your throat, and the fragrant roasted soybean flour! There are not many "Ohagi" as delicious as this one! The deliciousness of Suzukake remains the same even when you visit the main store! Thank you for the meal!

I stopped by before heading to Nakasu for my errands. Located just a short walk from Kawabata Shopping Street, it's easy to meet up here as it faces the road. This café is attached to the famous Fukuoka traditional sweets store, Suzukake, known for its cute bell-shaped monaka. I love their anmitsu here. It's quite filling, so be careful if you're eating before a meal. It consists of agar agar broken into large pieces like a candy, top-quality sweet red bean paste, and carefully selected fruits. You can choose between white syrup and black syrup, but I prefer black syrup. I like my anmitsu without whipped cream, and this one here is just perfect for me. The interior of the café is calming with great lighting and excellent service from the staff. I noticed a few people in kimono, perhaps because Hakataza theater is nearby or they were headed to work. For lunch, they also offer filling options like a pork cutlet sandwich, so be sure to give it a try.

When searching for "Japanese sweets," "souvenirs," and "Fukuoka," you will always come across this shop. Their mochi has just the right sweetness and a chewy texture that is irresistibly delicious. Their chestnut daifuku and suzu senbei are also elegantly flavored, making them a guaranteed hit as souvenirs.

I visited Suzukake, which is always crowded with customers, for dessert after lunch with a friend. I had the Suzu parfait, where you can choose 3 out of 4 types of ice cream, and it also comes with hojicha (roasted green tea). It had a sophisticated sweetness and was delicious. Next time, I would like to try their lunch menu. Thank you for the meal! (^^)

After lunch, I was looking for some sweets and ended up here. They didn't have a fruit parfait, so I asked and they said they might have a fig parfait around September. I decided to order the matcha parfait instead. It had matcha ice cream and vanilla ice cream on top. I was happy to find red bean paste, white rice cakes, and crispy monaka as well. There were also fruits like pineapple, kiwi, and melon in it. At the bottom, there was matcha jelly packed in. It was delicious. It made me quite cold though, haha.

I received a souvenir of popular Japanese sweets from Suzukake in Fukuoka (^○^) Just looking at the bag with cool goldfish wrapping makes my mouth water. The heart-shaped shiroya grass mooncakes are like Kagoshima's karukan, with fine red bean paste and moist sweet potato skin that is subtly sweet and elegant in taste. The grass mooncakes are half-moon shaped dorayaki with red bean paste and a crispy sweet outer skin, which is deliciously sweet and delightful. Even though this time it wasn't Suzukake's manju, all of Suzukake's Japanese sweets are elegant and delicious ♡

I visited this shop during the waiting time for a children's club competition. They had eat-in service next to the shop. I ordered the classic matcha with red bean, ginger kakigori, and a red tea parfait. The service was excellent as expected from a long-standing establishment, and of course, the desserts were delicious. I would love to visit again when the season changes.

I arrived at Suzukake, which is always crowded, around 10:30 AM today and wrote my name on a piece of paper inside the store to buy the July limited edition strawberry daifuku. I found a chair and waited for the store to open. For lunch, I had spaghetti, a classic Neapolitan style with a generous portion that was satisfying to eat. The bread was delicious too. The dessert, agar jelly with white balls of rice cake and red beans, had a subtle sweetness that complemented the flavors well. Eating the July limited edition strawberry daifuku made me feel happy.

I used it for lunchtime. I waited for about an hour. I ordered the daily special (Napolitan). It came with salad, soup, and bread. The bread had a unique taste that I had never tried before. It was chewy and delicious, I wish they sold it separately. Lastly, it even came with chilled sweet red bean soup for around 1500 yen. The satisfaction for this price is too good. I felt like my stomach was going to burst.

Today, I had lunch in Hakata and while strolling around, I stumbled upon Suzukake Main Store. Suzukake is a popular dessert shop located in Shinjuku Isetan, and even though my wife doesn't like sweets, she insisted on trying it out. The store was busy with 8 groups of customers waiting, but we were able to get in after about 30 minutes. I ordered the Suzu Parfait, which allows you to choose 3 flavors of ice cream from vanilla, matcha, caramel, and black sesame. I chose matcha, caramel, and black sesame. The parfait was filled with lots of fruits and the ice cream, especially the matcha flavor, was delicious.

During a break in my schedule, I decided to visit this restaurant. It was a weekday afternoon, but there were about 10 people waiting ahead of me. I had some time before my next appointment, so I decided to wait. It took about 30 minutes before I could finally enter the restaurant. I ordered the chilled zenzai (820 yen) and the shiratama (860 yen), both served with roasted green tea. The shiratama allows you to enjoy freshly made white balls in three different flavors (Hokkaido red beans, Tanba black beans with yellow powder, Ibaraki black sesame). The black sesame flavor was particularly surprising with its rich aroma and intense flavor. Each dish showcased refined Japanese flavors and attention to detail. The warm and attentive service also added to the sense of trust and tradition of this long-standing establishment. Thank you for the delicious meal!

I visited a long-established confectionery cafe after a long time. The service was as polite as ever. During lunchtime, there were many tourists and locals waiting for about an hour to enter. The waiting room had chairs and air conditioning, so it was comfortable to wait. For light meals, they offered hamburgers, cutlets sandwiches, spaghetti, and other Western dishes. Today, I had beef tongue stew. It was supervised by a French chef whom I have loved for 25 years, so the taste was to my liking. The stew had four tender pieces of tongue in a light Demi-Glace sauce, accompanied by deep-fried vegetables and mushrooms. I could tell that women would appreciate it. It's a popular restaurant where you can enjoy elegant Western cuisine in a classy atmosphere.

I was recommended to visit this place by someone, and I must say the red bean paste here is very elegant and delicious. I dropped by after work, so many of the traditional Japanese sweets in the showcase were already sold out. The Suzunoya mochi had a chewy skin and a small size, making it perfect for when you want a little sweet treat. The daifuku and ohagi were just right in sweetness, so I enjoyed them until the last bite. I was tired from work, but the deliciousness of the red bean paste really hit the spot.

I recently visited the Hakata Main Store of Suzukake, the only location where you can eat in, to try their popular shaved ice. Even on a weekday around 2:00 PM, there was a wait of 6 groups in line, but I was seated after about 30 minutes. I ordered the shaved ice with sweet strawberries "amaou" for ¥980, with an additional ¥50 for condensed milk. It was made with freshly harvested Fukuoka specialty "amaou" strawberries, turned into sweet syrup for the shaved ice. It comes with milk ice cream and roasted green tea, and the sweet strawberry syrup is served separately. Plus, there were two pieces of milk ice cream on top! The topping that looks like boiled radish is actually a chewy mochi-like sweet. The shaved ice flavors available are Yame sweet potato, amaou strawberry, and new ginger. It was a refreshing treat that also provided a boost of energy!

The only cafe with a special atmosphere of a hanging bell. My friend had a matcha parfait, while I had a Suzu parfait. You can choose three flavors from vanilla, matcha, caramel, and sesame for the ice cream. It comes with hojicha tea and Suzu's signature monaka to sandwich your favorite ice cream. I also want to come back for the delicious pudding a la mode and milkshake that I had before!

I finally visited the main store of Suzukake that I had been curious about for a long time. Although I had been around this area a few times, I never had the chance to go in, so this time I visited with a friend. I ordered the Suzu Parfait for 1,050 yen, which came with hojicha tea, water yokan, plenty of seasonal fruits, lightly sweetened whipped cream, and a choice of 3 types of ice cream (black sesame, matcha, vanilla, caramel - you can choose 3 flavors). The Suzu senbei (rice cracker) was cut in half, which was nice when there was only one. However, there were really a lot of fruits like melon, mango, pineapple, etc., including fresh fruits, which felt like a great deal! It seems like you can also have lunch here, so I would like to come back and take my time next time.

A few minutes' walk from Nakasu Kawabata Station. (I walked from the bus stop in Gofukumachi) I live in Nagoya, so I can buy Suzukake's sweets at Nagoya Station Takashimaya, but I've always wanted to try the parfait at the main store, and my wish finally came true;~; The parfait comes with a choice of 3 out of 4 ice cream flavors (vanilla, matcha, caramel, black sesame), and comes with hojicha tea. You can also get a refill of hojicha tea. The caramel ice cream in particular was rich and luscious, and very delicious. The sweets are cut into small pieces so there's no difficulty in eating, and it's easy to mix them together so you can fully enjoy the essence of a parfait. The whipped cream is not too sweet and refreshing. Recommended for those who don't like sweet things. The service from the staff was also polite. The sofa chairs also help you relax, making it a great place to take a break during your trip. Thank you for the meal! I would like to try the food menu when I visit Fukuoka again!

I went to a concert in Fukuoka and visited the Isetan Shinjuku department store to buy souvenirs. I found out that the popular Japanese confectionery shop Fukuoka is actually based in Fukuoka. I arrived at the shop early in the morning, but I initially missed it because it's located on the first floor of a simple office building. I finally found it and was able to purchase the "Suzu no Manju" (bell-shaped sweet) and mini dorayaki "Suzu no Mochi" set without having to wait in line. The sweets had a nice crispy texture and just the right amount of sweetness. They were delicious and perfect for bringing back home as souvenirs.

When I went back to my hometown, I visited Ogura Itoya for a pop-up event. Lucky me! When I was working in Fukuoka, I used to go to Hakata Station and Iwataya department store often. So nostalgic! In Tokyo, I lined up at both Shinjuku Isetan and Midtown Hibiya, their expansion to Tokyo has been a big success. - Suzunomizunotsuki: A classic type with white bean paste on top of white mochi. It's a seasonal treat that I always want to have during this time of year. - Fu manju: Inside the chewy fu is smooth red bean paste, a refined and elegant filling that defines Suzunokake. - Suzunomochi x2: The tiny, cute mochi with a chewy texture that I always buy! It was great that it matched the day of my return to my hometown.

Suzugake has expanded to two locations in Tokyo, so I can go there anytime. The one in Shinjuku Isetan store always has a long line, so I usually go to the one in Hibiya. This time, luckily, I found out they were at Ogura Itoya during my visit home, so I bought some. I was craving for Mizuki, so I bought Suzunomizuki Fu Manju and Suzuno Mochi. The Mizuki was soft and light, just as delicious as always.

If you go to Fukuoka, you must visit this shop. It is a delicious Japanese sweets shop, with amazing red bean sweets. The water yokan, kokera, and tororo are all delicious, especially the manju made with plenty of sweet potatoes from Kagoshima. Today, I enjoyed a delicious water yokan. I particularly like the chilled red bean paste. The matcha yokan is also delicious, as well as the chestnut yokan. Everything here is just delicious. The sweetness of the red beans really shines through in these sweets, making them truly special. The Japanese sweets here are truly exceptional.
