I visited "Hafu Main Store," known for serving delicious meat, for my first trip to Kyoto this year. I invited my university student son who lives in Kyoto for lunch. As a parent, I thought he might be used to simple meals (lol). We arrived before noon, but my son was late to arrive. More and more customers were coming in. Panic! Finally, at 12:15, we entered the restaurant, but there was already a wait. However, we were seated at the counter after about 10 minutes. The counter is in the front, and there are table seats in the back, but we couldn't see them from here. I ordered the Hafu steak bowl (¥2900) for my son and the special beef cutlet (¥3000) for myself. The beef cutlet arrived, accompanied by small dishes, rice, salad, and pickles. The rare red meat and demiglace sauce are beautiful! I immediately tried it, and it was so tender ^^ The demiglace sauce is surprisingly not too heavy and goes very well with the cutlet. I also took a bite of my son's steak bowl, and the Japanese-style flavor increased my appetite! We both quickly finished our meals exclaiming "delicious, delicious." A drink is included after the meal. We both chose coffee. The coffee was also quite good. We are satisfied. Thank you for the meal.

I used to live nearby and frequented this restaurant often. The atmosphere is nice, the food is delicious, and the lunch deals are great. Today, during my solo trip to Kyoto, I visited for lunch after 8 years. The daily lunch special has increased from 995 yen to 1000 yen, but it's still cheap! The salad is crisp, the rice is tasty, and the side dishes are also delicious. It's surprising how few places serve delicious rice. Today's daily lunch special was simmered beef and onions, and it was very delicious. Thank you for the meal. I will definitely come back.

I visited for lunch around 1 PM on a weekday. Since I was dining alone, I was able to get in without waiting in line. I ordered the steak bowl. There was more meat than I expected, and I was satisfied with the portion and it was delicious. Thank you for the meal!

I heard it was a teppanyaki restaurant, but it felt more like a nice Western-style eatery. I went with friends and we ordered the sirloin steak lunch and fillet steak lunch to share. The meat was tender and easy to eat! My friend said the dinner menu has a more luxurious feel and is recommended. During lunch, it had a casual atmosphere with many local office workers quickly enjoying their meals.

Blog post, https://ameblo.jp/syenron1/entry-12819129162.htmlSeptember 4th (Monday), I had a day off today but came to Kyoto for work. After finishing negotiations at the first manufacturer, it was just lunchtime. I head to lunch. It's been a few years since I rode the Kyoto subway. I got a little lost in Karasuma Station. Two stops from Shijo-Karasuma on the subway, I got off at Marutamachi Station. Still hot, walked 500m east. The appearance is like a hidden restaurant in Kyoto. [Niku Senka Hafu Main Store] This is a shop I've been eyeing for a while. It's been a long time since I had "beef cutlet"! When you enter the entrance, there are counter seats. Almost full, I sat at the end of the counter. There are table seats at the back of the shop. The lunch menu includes rice, miso soup, salad, small dishes, and pickles. Coffee or tea is served after the meal. I will share later, so I recommended the ■ Special Beef Cutlet to my wife. A thick pink cutlet with thin breading, very rare beef cutlet. I had two pieces sharing it. I had the ■ Daily Lunch. The daily special that day was Pork Saute with curry sauce. The pork was thick, and the curry sauce was delicious. My wife said it was "spicy" and ate it with the demiglace sauce of the beef cutlet. I enjoyed the rice and spaghetti with curry sauce. The drink after the meal was ◆ Hot Coffee ◆ Iced Coffee. The daily lunch for 1000 yen is a great deal! The lunch service is until 13:30, and we were the last customers.

The daily lunch special on weekdays is only 1,000 yen! They also offer a variety of high-quality meats. This restaurant is loved by both locals and tourists, selected as one of the top 100 Western-style restaurants. I visited around 11:30 am on a weekday. The place was bustling with customers, almost full by the time I left. However, the restaurant is long with plenty of seating, so it might be easier to get in than you think. [What I had]: Steak bowl ¥2,727, Premium beef cutlet ¥2,727, Kyoto craft beer ¥818. The meat was flavorful and tender without being heavy. There were multiple side dishes and a drink included after the meal, which was a nice touch. Considering the quality, the cost performance is excellent! The service was mainly handled by young part-time staff, which had its ups and downs. (Sorry) But for the lunch price, it's worth it. Thank you for the meal!

I headed southwest by bicycle... and passed by the flagship store of Tenkaippin, but... I'm not a big fan so I ignored it... I arrived around 12:45 and the counter seats were about 60% full... It seems there are table seats at the back, but I can't see them from here. I was guided to a counter seat at the back... The daily lunch special is cheap, but it seems like their specialty is meat dishes, right? I ordered the Hafu Steak Don with premium beef. The food was served in about 7 minutes... The meat was delicious, but there was something white in the middle, maybe ginger? I thought, but it turned out to be wasabi that made my nose tingle! Despite the small portion, it was quite satisfying... The rice was average... The red miso soup was on the stronger side, but okay... The salad was also just average... The pickles were so-so. I was about to leave but it seems a drink like coffee or tea is included... I ordered iced tea, which was okay... I paid 3000 yen by card... They aim to become one of the top 100 cafes.

Chas, it's Little Tooth, the northern stroller. Whew, it's hot. Today I visited here. On Saturday nights, it's fully booked with a sign saying reservations only, and it seems popular with foreigners. It has a casual atmosphere that's easy for solo diners. I ordered the meat course, which was a bit pricey, so the portion and variety weren't that great, and I finished eating in an hour. The main meat was thinly sliced, making it feel even smaller, so I savored it carefully. It's not a bad restaurant, but it didn't quite meet my expectations. Thank you for the meal.

Good atmosphere! Good taste! However, the service needs improvement. Even if they want to increase turnover rate, being openly rude to customers (asking to squeeze into a 6-person table when there are only 6 people, and being too rushed in clearing plates) can affect the quality of the restaurant. It's a shame. But the food was definitely delicious.

The atmosphere, service, taste, price, and speed of service were all excellent. I had the daily lunch special, and the side salad, small dishes, and miso soup were all well-prepared dishes, making me feel the great value for the price. They even included coffee or tea after the meal, allowing for a luxurious experience.

Seated at the counter at 11:30. The person who seems to be the head chef gives off a intimidating aura, creating a tense atmosphere in the kitchen. The steak bowl for 2,800 yen is incredibly delicious! It's high-quality meat, tender without being too fatty. Goes well with the Western-style wasabi. The salad vegetables are fresh, with the onions not being spicy at all. The miso soup is quite salty, perhaps to not be overshadowed by the meat. The coffee after the meal is on par with convenience store quality, so you might not need to drink it, as it may diminish the lingering taste of the meat. Thank you for the meal.

When I traveled to Kyoto and spent the evening with my Kansai friends, we ended up dining at "Hafu," a restaurant recommended by a friend for its delicious meat. The restaurant was located in a quiet residential area that made me doubt if there really was a restaurant there. The interior had a calm atmosphere with a row of counter seats and some table seats in the back. I ordered the Sirloin Steak Course for around 8000 yen, while my friend ordered various items like Hayashi Rice, Shrimp Fry, and Shrimp Cream Croquette a la carte. We also decided to try the famous "Beef Cutlet Sandwich," known for being a favorite at the Kyoto film studio, although it was a bit pricey at 5000 yen per serving. The appetizer, Smoked Scallop, had a sophisticated presentation and was incredibly delicious. The course continued with dishes like Soybean Soup and a Vegetable Salad, all of which were tasty. The Sirloin Steak main dish was served with mustard and various sauces, allowing for different flavor combinations. The Beef Cutlet Sandwich impressed us with its tender and juicy meat despite its red appearance. The dessert, including ice cream, creme brulee, and pineapple, was also satisfying. Although the total cost per person might reach around 8000 yen (or 10,000 yen with alcohol), the quality of the food made it worth the price. Overall, it was a highly satisfying dining experience at a restaurant that offered excellent dishes.

During my Kyoto trip with my grandmother, we had lunch here! We came here on the recommendation of an acquaintance. It's a popular restaurant, but miraculously there were only two seats available that day, so we were seated without waiting. Since there were no pictures, I had a hard time deciding which menu to choose, but I ended up having the relatively small portioned Wagyu beef grilled set meal. There were various condiments such as ponzu sauce, miso, garlic soy sauce, salt, wasabi, grated radish, allowing us to enjoy different flavors. As for the Wagyu beef itself... it was tender and juicy! Very delicious. My grandmother, who loves rare Wagyu beef, was delighted. It was great to come across such a lovely restaurant during our trip. We will definitely visit again when we travel here next time.

Ordered the Hafu Steak Donburi - Special Selected Beef (2900 yen). Chosen as one of the top 100 Western restaurants. The menu is extensive and I heard from an acquaintance that they were unsure of what to eat, but I was set on the steak donburi. The lunch prices are still reasonable, though not the best value, but everyone, please do visit.

Since it was a Sunday, my companion, who had been there before, warned me that there might be a line, but fortunately we were able to get in without waiting. It was my first time visiting, so I left the menu selection to my companion. It was a perfect choice! The food was delicious, thank you for the meal!

I visited for lunch. Since reservations are not available for lunch, I entered as soon as the restaurant opened. About 20 minutes later, it was already full. This time, I had the special beef cutlet. The sauce was rich, and the meat was moist and tender. The set included salad, miso soup, rice, and after the meal, you can choose coffee or tea. The main seating is at the counter, and there are table seats in the back.

Visited for lunch. Ordered the premium beef cutlet. The tenderness of the meat and the thinness of the breading matched well with the deep taste of the demi-glace sauce, making it delicious. There were various menu options, and I also wanted to try the steak and pork cutlet sandwich. #HafuMainStore #Meat #BeefCutlet #Lunch #Beer #KyotoCity

A restaurant with a strong presence despite being located in a quiet residential area. The atmosphere is welcoming, with friendly service. The regulars around me were ordering a la carte dishes, but as a first-time visitor, I decided to try the meat course. I started by refreshing my palate with a craft beer made with Yamadanishiki rice. The meal included an amuse-bouche with beef tongue, seared beef, salad, sirloin steak, and dessert, all of which were high-quality dishes that left me impressed. The cost performance was also good, and I will definitely be coming back!
