I visited the Motsu Nabe Nagamasa Hakata Main Store for the first time in a while. This place is truly amazing, everything I ate was delicious. Even though it is a motsu nabe (offal hot pot) restaurant, they also offer dishes from various regions in Kyushu such as live Yari Ika sashimi from Yobuko, saba sashimi, and Kumamoto horse sashimi. The motsu nabe with two types of broth (salt and white miso) is incredibly tasty. They also offer a course menu for 5500 yen which includes motsu nabe with choice of salt or white miso, 4 side dishes, 3 main dishes, dessert, and all-you-can-drink. Reservations are a must at this very reasonable and delicious restaurant.
I indulged in almost all the dishes this time. The salad served as an appetizer was flavorful. The Yunzen ham and egg potato salad was delicious with a good mix of ingredients. The cucumber pickled in salt was addictive. The Nagoya-style fried chicken was crispy, juicy, and well-seasoned with garlic. The Hakata simmered dish was a traditional dish with chicken, lotus root, burdock, konjac, carrot, shiitake mushrooms, and taro in a slightly sweet sauce.
The live Yari Ika sashimi was a special treat with the option to choose between salt-grilled or tempura for the remaining parts. The sashimi platter included live sashimi, seared saba, shime saba, and goma saba, all of which were incredibly fresh and delicious. The Miyazaki chicken nanban was coated in a sweet and sour sauce with a generous amount of tartar sauce. The Hakata local chicken thigh was perfectly grilled with just the right amount of seasoning.
The Kumamoto horse sashimi was simple yet delicious. The Yobuko squid shumai was tasty with ponzu and mustard. The Oita toriten was crispy fried chicken with a juicy interior, perfect with ponzu and mustard. The Karatsu gyoro kke (fish croquette) was a simple and delicious dish, unique to the region. Overall, the food at this restaurant was amazing and definitely worth a visit.

I tried to make a reservation on Tabelog but it was fully booked, so I called the restaurant as a last resort. They said they could prepare a table for me for 50 minutes starting from 5 pm. I placed an order for motsunabe (choice of salt or white miso, I chose salt), fresh squid sashimi (priced between 2,000 yen and 4,000 yen), and also added the recommended sesame mackerel. They assured me that the food would be ready as soon as I sat down. Last order for food was at 5:20 pm, but drinks were okay until closing. It was raining heavily when I left my hotel to go to the restaurant, "Hakata Honten." It was a bit difficult to find the place due to the rain, but I finally made it. The motsunabe (salt) was waiting for me when I arrived. The portion was generous and the meat was chewy and flavorful. The dish also had green chili peppers which added a nice kick to the flavor. The garlic chives were delicious too. I ordered two motsunabe (salt) for 1,815 yen each. It was perfect for the summer with the strong salt flavor. The meat was large and had a nice texture to it. I also ordered a draft beer for 583 yen and a plum wine on the rocks for 462 yen. We also had two appetizers for 350 yen each, which were a tuna and daikon salad in a mortar. It was a generous portion and very filling. I tried the fresh spear squid sashimi for 2,000 yen. They cut one leg for us on the spot and advised us to dip it in soy sauce right away. It was fresh and delicious. We were told that after we finished the sashimi, they could prepare it as tempura or salt-grilled. We chose tempura. I also tried the sesame mackerel for 1,100 yen for the first time. The mackerel was fresh and the abundance of sesame seeds was tasty. It seemed very healthy too. I ordered another draft beer for 583 yen. The total bill came to 9,058 yen. It was a fantastic 50 minutes of enjoying the specialty dishes. The staff were all young and handsome.

Squid sashimi - Hakata motsu nabe Nagamasa - Nagamasa in Hakata is a wonderful restaurant that focuses on "motsu nabe" (offal hot pot), "fresh fish," and hospitality. While they are known for their motsu nabe, this time I couldn't resist trying their specialty, fresh squid! They offer live squid sashimi, and you can choose the size of the squid based on your group size. The translucent squid is still moving on the plate, and the chewy texture and delicious flavor are amazing. They also served the tentacles as sashimi, which was equally delicious. It reminded me of the delicious squid I had in Yobuko 10 years ago. Yobuko squid is still the best!

I wanted to eat motsunabe, but I also wanted to try other Hakata dishes. I found a place that serves motsunabe for one person, and I'm glad I was greedy and tried different dishes. The motsunabe with salt flavor was recommended, and it was my first time trying it. The salty soup with the richness of the motsu was just right. The motsu was delicious and chewy, full of collagen. I also tried the sesame mackerel, which was fresh and fatty. Despite being seasoned with various flavors, everything came together nicely and tasted amazing. I liked it so much that I even searched if I could find it in Kyoto. There are so many delicious dishes, and they go well with alcohol. Hakata is the best!

The restaurant is always full and bustling. It seems to be popular among the locals. All the food was of high quality and delicious! I ordered horse sashimi, mentaiko, sesame mackerel, and white miso simmered tripe. The cabbage appetizer was delicious and I could keep eating it (laughs). The freshness of the horse sashimi and mackerel was excellent, without any fishy smell, making it a quality that is not often found in Tokyo. I want to go back again!

Customer service was great and the food was satisfying (*´~`*)ŧ‹"ŧ‹"ŧ‹" The sesame mackerel was really good (*`・ω・)ゞ It's conveniently located near Hakata Station, so it's easy to get to (*`ω´)b The fact that it was full on a weekday also raised expectations (๑•̀ㅂ•́)و✧

It was my first time in Fukuoka, so I did a lot of research and ended up at Nagamasa. The motsunabe was so delicious that it made me wonder what I had been eating as motsunabe before. The tripe was chewy and large, and the more you chewed, the sweeter and tastier it became. The squid didn't meet my expectations, but it was fun to look at and the tempura at the end was great. And the sesame mackerel was a pleasant surprise. The mackerel had no fishy smell and was so fresh. I was amazed by how delicious it was. I definitely want to go back when I visit Fukuoka again.

This restaurant offers delicious Hakata gourmet dishes that you can enjoy. They serve motsunabe (tripe hot pot), assorted mackerel, vinegar motsu (offal), horse sashimi, and squid sashimi from Yobuko. The squid was served alive, so when I put the tentacles in my mouth, the suckers stuck to my mouth, which was surprising. I was able to choose whether to have the middle part as tempura or salt-grilled, so I chose tempura. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I think the customer service is good as the reputation suggests. However, to be honest, I don't find the taste of the dishes I ordered to be as delicious as other Hakata restaurants, and the portion size is smaller for the price. Perhaps their target is tourists who can try a variety of local dishes all at once, which is sufficient.

When you come to Fukuoka, you have to eat this, so I went to "Motsunabe Nagamasa Hakata Honten" for motsunabe. The motsunabe comes in two flavors, white miso and salt. I always thought motsunabe was supposed to be soy sauce flavor, but when I asked the staff if miso or salt is the authentic flavor, they told me that originally motsunabe was soy sauce flavor, but miso and salt flavors became popular and now miso flavor is the standard in Hakata. I wanted to try the local default soy sauce flavor motsunabe, but ended up enjoying the miso flavor instead. The motsunabe was delicious with the perfect balance of miso. I couldn't stop eating it. Next, I tried the "Gomasaba," a representative local dish of Hakata which is fresh mackerel served with Kyushu soy sauce, mirin, sesame, and condiments. It was delicious on its own, but I thought it would be even better on rice. Then, I had the "Ika no Ikezukuri," fresh squid prepared right in front of me. The squid was so fresh and sweet, and it went well with Kyushu soy sauce. The tentacles and innards were also delicious when fried. The motsunabe, gomasaba, and ika were all incredibly delicious. Thank you for the feast.

The tripe was bouncy and creamy! It wasn't too heavy, but you could still taste the miso flavor perfectly. I'm not a fan of tripe in yakiniku, but the tripe hot pot here was delicious without being too rich or hard to chew. I want to come back with a group next time and try more dishes.

The motsunabe I've had in Tokyo before was so delicious that I wonder what it was. I chose the miso flavor! Besides the motsunabe, the sesame mackerel and squid were also delicious. They offered the squid as tempura or grilled (I couldn't decide, so the staff kindly made half and half for me!). Even the new staff, who seemed inexperienced, worked hard to serve us, and I could see the senior staff taking care of them and giving advice despite being busy. I bought some frozen motsunabe to take home at the airport and tried the salt flavor, which was also good, but I still think the miso flavor was better! I want to go back again.

I visited Fukuoka for the first time and made a reservation at this restaurant after discovering it on Instagram. I came with a small child and they prepared a child-friendly plate and cup for us. They also gave us a private room which made our experience very comfortable. The food was delicious, especially the motsunabe (tripe hot pot) and sesame mackerel and squid sashimi were amazing! I would love to visit again in the future!

This is my second visit. If you come here, you can eat all the delicious food in Kyushu! It really feels like that. They also have a single item all-you-can-drink option, and the cost performance is very high. Also, the yuzu pepper! They seem to make it in the store. It's really delicious. I want to take it home. I will visit again when I go to Hakata. Thank you very much.

I made a reservation for a course with fresh squid sashimi and motsu-nabe, but due to rough seas, I couldn't encounter squid. However, the substitute horse sashimi and sesame mackerel sashimi were excellent with plenty of condiments that kept the flavors interesting. The appetizers were meticulously prepared and delicious. The motsu-nabe was also very tasty. I was completely satisfied until the end. The drink service was also prompt. I would love to go again.

I visited Fukuoka for a trip! It was my first time in Fukuoka! When you think of Fukuoka, you think of motsunabe (tripe hot pot)! I love motsunabe so much!! There are so many restaurants to choose from, it's hard to decide where to go. It's a common issue in different cities that the ratings on Tabelog (Japanese restaurant review website) don't always match up. So, I did a lot of research on Tabelog and Instagram, and I wanted somewhere close to the station, so I chose Motsunabe Nagamasa! I visited one of their two newly opened locations. I made a reservation in advance, but it was fully booked on the day! The motsunabe had the restaurant's name on gyoza wrappers! The authentic motsunabe was incredibly delicious!! Another thing that impressed me was the sesame mackerel! It was so tasty without any fishy smell! In addition to motsunabe, they had a wide variety of side dishes!

I made a reservation for 20:30 in advance. When I arrived on the day, it was so crowded that it seemed like you couldn't get in without a reservation, so I felt that reservations were necessary. The motsunabe was delicious, and the fresh squid was irresistibly tasty! The atmosphere of the restaurant was also good, and I definitely want to come back!

A well-established motsunabe (offal hot pot) restaurant in Fukuoka. All the courses were delicious. It was 5500 yen with all-you-can-drink. The squid was a bit smaller compared to that in Yobuko, but it was still fresh and tasty. One thing that caught my attention was that even though it was stated as the first squeeze all-you-can-drink (bottled), what was served was red lager.

I went to the "Motsu Naga Masanari" hot pot restaurant for the second time! This time, I chose the 4500 yen course. Last time, I went for the 5500 yen course and ate too much, so I decided to go for the 4500 yen course this time. But as usual, the portion was huge! I ended up eating too much again, haha. This time, I ordered sesame mackerel, chicken thigh, and squid shumai. The squid shumai was amazing when dipped in the sauce and mustard! I had a great time again, and my friends were really happy too. Choosing this restaurant was definitely a good decision! We drank quite a lot, but it was awesome! Thank you so much! ☺️

This was my first visit to this restaurant. I was very nervous when I first arrived. But as soon as I walked in, the lively atmosphere made me feel good. There are so many menu options, like motsunabe and various other dishes, that it's hard to choose. The staff recommended sesame mackerel and live squid sashimi. I had the white miso motsunabe, which had a sweet flavor. I ended with zosui, which was comforting and delicious. The horse sashimi was lean and easy to eat. The portions were generous and worth the price. The sesame mackerel had a delicious flavor without any fishy smell. The live squid sashimi was clear and crunchy, very tasty. I also tried the tempura, squid dumplings, and seared red beef, all of which were flavorful and enjoyable. For drinks, I had cold beer, Chita highball, and black vinegar and apple shochu highball, all of which were delicious. Despite being busy, the food came quickly and in the right order. I was happy to not have to wait long. The staff were attentive and polite until the end. Thank you for a wonderful meal.

The whole restaurant had a lively atmosphere and the food was delicious. The miso-flavored motsunabe was especially amazing! We also reserved the squid sashimi, which was served with the option to have the leftovers prepared as tempura or salt-grilled. We chose tempura and it was also excellent!
