A restaurant near JR Saga Arashiyama Station that serves traditional Japanese home-cooked dishes. This was my third visit in about five years. I was able to make a reservation over the phone a few days before. The menu is displayed on the wall without prices. There are 8 seats at the counter and about 3 small raised tatami seating areas for 6 people each. In front of the counter, there are many large plate dishes. I had the following dishes: - Soft and tender squid - Simmered baby octopus - Deep-fried whole shrimp that you can eat entirely - Rice balls with a variety of pickles - Large eggplant miso dish - Grilled chicken skewers, 6 pieces, generously sized - Garlic sandfish - Black oolong tea - Beer (medium bottle) The total bill for two people with 7 dishes and drinks came to only 6900 yen (!!!). Everything we ordered was delicious. The food is of high quality and has a comforting taste. Even though prices are not listed, the bill was surprisingly reasonable. I definitely want to visit again.

A hidden gem loved by regulars. Visited after seeing cormorant fishing in Arashiyama. A place I had researched and targeted in advance. In Arashiyama, many places close around 8pm, so finding a restaurant open at night is rare. This place is not for tourists, but a cozy izakaya where regulars gather. I love these kinds of places ♡ The small dishes on the counter are irresistible! All the dishes are perfect for sake´-● The assorted sashimi had a whopping 10 varieties, all looking fresh and of high quality. They were all delicious - especially the luxurious miso from the shrimp heads that you just have to suck out. The pork belly and daikon were huge and full of flavor. The crab cream croquette was fried slowly after ordering, and was deliciously crispy and creamy. The beef tendon was soaked in a special broth and was unbelievably good. The rolled omelette was a must-try, and the size was larger than expected, with a rich and soft texture. It was a bit too much for two people, but it was so delicious that it was okay! There were many other dishes I wanted to try, but I was already full, so I finished up. I'll definitely try more next time. I was very satisfied. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was lovely, with only regular customers and no touristy vibe, making it a wonderful space to be in.

I finally went to Inoue-san, which I had been wanting to go to for a long time! It was my first time going since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. The last time was in November 2019. Everyone else with me was also going for the first time, so I recommended various dishes and we ate a lot! We had a sashimi platter (for 2 people), 2 beef tendons, grilled Manjūyaki peppers, braised pork belly, miso-glazed eggplant, deep-fried oysters, rolled omelette, jellyfish (without cucumber), crab rice porridge, and salmon tea pickles. We ate all of this, drank a lot, and it only came out to 6,000 yen per person. As always, the cost performance was excellent. It's still my favorite restaurant in Kyoto!

I called for a reservation on the same day and was told they were fully booked, but I didn't give up and decided to check out the restaurant around 8 o'clock. Luckily, there was a seat available and I was able to get in! I really wanted to come to this place first. There were so many dishes I wanted to try! I could feel that this restaurant is popular among local customers and loved by them.

Inoue Arashiyama is a cozy izakaya specializing in obanzai dishes. The counter was lined with delicious-looking dishes, just like in the fourth photo, and eating there was simply amazing. Trying to decide what to order next was so much fun. The food was really delicious, from start to finish. And the portions were generous! The sashimi platter looked like it was meant for one person, but it was so good. They had a nice selection of dry sake that paired perfectly with the food. There were so many things I wanted to try, one night was definitely not enough. Mama-san even came out to see us off and showed us the quickest way back. I will definitely revisit this place when I'm in Kyoto. #Inoue #ArashiyamaGourmet #ArashiyamaIzakaya #ArashiyamaTravel #Sake #SakeLovers #SakePairing #SakeAndFoodPairing

Near Arashiyama Station, there is a small restaurant called Inoue with over 20 dishes lined up on the counter, which is quite impressive! There are also various other menu items to choose from, making it difficult to decide, but everything is delicious and there are no disappointments, so you will want to try everything. Be careful not to order too much as the portion size for each dish is generous!

Today's pushu~ is here (*゚▽゚*) After finishing my errands in Arashiyama, I went in search of a place where I could have a drink. It seems like there are not many late-night options in Arashiyama, right? Following my partner's recommendation, we visited this restaurant (*゚▽゚*) They had a wide variety of obanzai dishes to choose from! I was having a hard time deciding what to eat... - Sashimi platter - Braised pork - Grilled saury - Fried oysters We ordered these dishes (*゚▽゚*) (Sorry for the lack of photos...) The restaurant had a traditional Japanese ambiance, which was nice and Kyoto-like. The food was incredibly delicious! The perfectly seasoned dishes were so soothing (;∀;) The braised pork was so tender and flavorful! The sweetness of the daikon was delightful. The sweet and savory flavor made the sake go down smoothly! In autumn, grilled saury and shochu are a perfect match! I love autumn because I can enjoy so many of my favorite foods (*'▽'*) The restaurant was almost full, but they served our food and drinks promptly, which was great (*'▽'*) I'm already thinking about what to eat next time I come here. It was a wonderful restaurant experience. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Looking back on the past, I am writing about this restaurant. This is a restaurant that a friend living overseas recommended to me. Every time I return to my home country, I feel like eating here, so I was invited to go together. Of course, both of us enjoy drinking, so we took the train. It's a 1-minute walk from JR Saga-Arashiyama Station. The journey from my home is long, but... This is my first time writing, but it's the third time I've been here. I won't list what we ordered. When you see the seasonal obanzai dishes lined up in front of you, you will want to try everything. Since there is a limit to what two people can order, we ordered half-size portions where possible. The dashimaki tamago in the photo is a half-size portion. In addition to obanzai, there are also grilled and fried dishes available. With both of us eating and drinking moderately, we usually spend around 5,000 yen per person. It's difficult to go out for dinner because I have a daughter, so I can't go often, but I'm starting to crave it. [Quick notes] It's essential to make a reservation. It's located about a 1-minute walk from the station. There are counter seats and tatami seating, but the space is not large.

I was taken to a famous restaurant known for its delicious food. It was a small place with only two tatami rooms, so we sat at the counter. There was no menu, and the dishes seemed to be decided based on the day's ingredients. Various dishes were displayed on the counter, and we could choose what caught our eye. Everything was delicious, and the sashimi was fresh and beautifully presented. I was very satisfied with the quality of the food. Although I couldn't tell the prices from the menu, it seemed to be on the higher side overall, making it more of an adult-oriented izakaya.

It seems to be featured on Obanzai, but the direction is more like an izakaya. The seasoning is on the rich and sweet side, suitable for drinking. It may not meet the expectations of those envisioning a refined Kyoto-style cuisine. The dishes are typical of rural areas. I went alone so I couldn't try many items, but the quality of sashimi was good, including shrimp, scallops, and flatfish. They also offer tempura, yakitori, and rice dishes. The menu doesn't list prices, which is common in Kyoto. I had a sashimi platter (squid, botanebi shrimp, tuna, bonito, sea bream, flounder, salmon, striped jack), tendon simmered in sauce, pickled shrimp, octopus and radish stew, and a bottle of beer for 4500 yen. The sashimi was 1500 yen, while the other dishes were around 700-800 yen each. With a wide variety of menu items, it seems they settled on this system to avoid confusion with the bill.

I was delighted by the variety of dishes displayed on the counter. The dishes were made with seasonal ingredients and had a slightly rich flavor that went well with alcohol. The portion sizes were adjusted according to the number of people dining, and we could choose our own sake cups. It was a very cozy and satisfying restaurant in terms of both atmosphere and taste.

I finally got a reservation at a popular restaurant and visited for the first time. There were many side dishes lined up at the counter. Since there were two of us and we wanted to try a variety of dishes, we ordered beef tendon, potato salad, and simmered taro. Since the portion was just right, we decided to order fried blowfish. The portion was surprisingly large, and we couldn't eat anymore. So we left. We had two drinks, sake, and shochu, and the total bill was 7800 yen. It's a bit expensive. It's like a high-end izakaya. But I wish they had prices listed on the menu.

I go regularly and you can't go wrong with any dish! The food is fantastic, with each dish highlighting the ingredients and flavors. I always end up eating until I'm about 80% full. The service is friendly and welcoming, and they let you know if something will take longer. The drinks selection is extensive.

A few weeks ago, I made a reservation and revisited this restaurant that always provides fresh and delicious meals at reasonable prices. They offer authentic dishes, and one of the specialties is sashimi of conger eel, which is very rare! [Food] As always, every dish is perfect. The vegetables here are all large and packed with flavor. I particularly enjoyed the tsukune, which had a crunchy texture and was very satisfying. [Service] Excellent, very friendly. [Speed] Just right. [Drinks] A wide selection.

I visited "Inoue" based on a friend's recommendation near Saga Arashiyama Station. The restaurant was small with a few tables and a counter, where a variety of delicious dishes were displayed. We ordered deep-fried sunomono, octopus vinegar salad, crab tempura, dashimaki tamago, assorted sashimi, and tempura. Each dish was exquisite, highlighting the natural flavors of the ingredients. Despite being quite filling, the dishes were not heavy, making it easy to enjoy more. Before we knew it, we were happily tipsy from the delicious food and drinks. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the wonderful meal! ✨
