I had always wanted to visit this restaurant, which I had seen in travel magazines, but never had the chance to until now. It was a stroke of luck that I stumbled upon it while walking to another restaurant. There was a long line in front of a traditional Japanese-style building along the river, and I realized it was Gion Komori-san. Despite it being a holiday weekend and the line being long, I almost gave up on waiting. However, my companion quickly found out that the restaurant had a lot of seating, so we decided to wait in line in hopes of getting in when it opened. The restaurant opened at 11 am, and the line quickly disappeared inside. Just as we were about to enter, the door was closed with a request to wait for a moment. It seemed like something out of a TV drama or manga, but soon after, the door opened again, and we were invited in. We were led to a room on the second floor, and it turned out there were more rooms on the first and second floors than we had expected. Despite the crowd, the staff took our orders quickly and the food arrived promptly. We ordered matcha warabi mochi and warabi mochi parfait. The matcha warabi mochi was delicious with a rich matcha flavor, and the parfait was a delight with its combination of ice cream, warabi mochi, and matcha jelly. It was not too sweet, and the black honey complemented it perfectly. We also ordered a mini green tea set, which allowed us to enjoy the tea without any added sweetness. I would love to come back again, perhaps to try their anmitsu next time. As we left the restaurant, I noticed that a line had formed outside once again, just as long as when we arrived.

Warabimochi parfait is absolutely delicious. The warabimochi itself is amazing! The parfait is perfectly balanced with a subtle sweetness in the ice cream and sponge cake, making it very tasty. You must try the warabimochi, it's worth it! Overall, I am extremely satisfied.

I took a stroll around Gion Shijo area and happened to pass by a shop I had been researching. There were only 3 groups waiting in line, so I decided to give it a try. The shop has 124 seats, so it's spacious inside. The turnover rate is good, and I was able to get a table in just 5 minutes. Upon entering the shop, we were asked to take off our shoes. There are several tatami rooms, and even when the shop was full, we could relax comfortably at our table. We ordered the Matcha Bavarois Parfait for 1,600 yen and the Warabi Mochi with Kinako for 1,200 yen. The Matcha Bavarois Parfait consists of matcha agar jelly, matcha sponge cake, shiratama mochi, red bean, chestnut, raspberry, matcha bavarois, vanilla ice cream, and matcha ice cream. The matcha ice cream had a rich matcha flavor with a subtle sweetness. I initially thought the vanilla ice cream was plain, but as I continued to eat, the sweetness of the sponge cake and red bean balanced it out. The matcha bavarois was soft and gentle in flavor. Each component was delicious, and when eaten together, it created a well-balanced parfait that wasn't overly sweet. The Warabi Mochi with Kinako was soft and chewy, and it looked beautiful with the black honey drizzle. While it didn't have any standout features, the simple flavor with the black honey was delicious. It was a relaxing Japanese-style space where we could take a break and unwind from walking. It was a great time being soothed by sweet Japanese sweets.

After seeing photos of the beautiful warabi mochi inside the shop, I decided to visit. Despite the intense heat in Kyoto, as soon as I saw the long line outside the shop, I felt despair. However, I noticed a sign at the entrance saying, "For takeout customers, please enter directly." This message gave me the push I needed, and I immediately entered the shop. The inside was so cool and refreshing. I took my order home, where I enjoyed the delicious warabi mochi in the comfort of my air-conditioned room. Thank you so much. It was a wonderful treat.

I had a warabimochi parfait. I actually prefer shiratama, but I decided to try the most popular warabimochi parfait. As shown in the photo, the atmosphere was nice and it was a parfait perfect for Kyoto's summer. For some reason, there was also an old-fashioned black telephone. Thank you for the meal.

It is a sweet shop where you can feel the essence of Kyoto in Gion. I went on a holiday night and was able to get in without waiting in line. There is usually a long line during the afternoon, which I was worried about. The food was delicious. Above all, the location and atmosphere are great for experiencing Kyoto tourism.

The name of the shop is "Komori Parfait," and they have a menu item with their name on it. The warabi mochi and matcha parfait was exquisite. The warabi mochi was large and had just the right amount of softness. It definitely earned a spot on the list of flavors I want to try again when I come back to Kyoto. The atmosphere around the shop adds to the overall experience.

This is a shop I've always wanted to visit since I often see it on Instagram. I walked there from Sanjo Station, which was a bit far. Inside the shop, we had to take off our shoes before entering. There were many foreign customers as well. I ordered the matcha warabi mochi, and my friend got the matcha pudding parfait. Despite being a popular shop, the desserts arrived quickly after ordering, which left a good impression! The taste was also delicious. I definitely want to come back again. Thank you very much! ☺️✨

The parfait was exquisite. I visited on a weekday and most of the seats were filled. I arrived around 3 pm, and those who came after me had to line up outside in the scorching sun... truly a popular spot. I ordered the warabi mochi parfait. The warabi mochi, matcha pound cake, and red bean inside were all of high quality and very satisfying. The Uji sweet potato parfait that others were eating also looked delicious... I'll try that next time.

Warabi mochi parfait ¥1700 Mini green tea ¥300 I visited around 5 pm on a holiday and was able to enter without waiting in line. I ordered the warabi mochi parfait which included warabi mochi, castella cake, cream, anko (sweet red bean paste), and matcha jelly. The warabi mochi was delicious as always! But it's a bit pricey! Haha

I had a matcha bavarois parfait (my mother had anmitsu) at this place. I visited around 7 pm on Saturday and was able to enter without waiting. The inside of the shop is a bit dark, so I recommend visiting during brighter hours if you want to take Instagram-worthy photos. The parfait was very delicious and filling, but I finished it all in no time. Thank you for the meal.

I was always curious about the long line at this place, so this time I went before it opened. We arrived about 20 minutes early and there was already one group ahead of us. During the 20-minute wait, I struggled to decide what to order and ended up getting warabi mochi... I also thought about getting matcha warabi mochi to share with my companion.

On the morning of June 20, 2023, I visited the restaurant shortly after it opened. This was my third visit, and this time I was able to get in without waiting in line. I was seated on the second floor this time, and the breeze coming in from the window felt cooler than it actually was. I ordered the "Green Tea" dish, opting for something light and easy on the stomach after having heavy meals the day before. It was refreshing and delicious. I hope to visit with my family next time I come to Kyoto. Thank you for the meal!

I always see a long line at this shop! Since I came to Kyoto, I decided to line up when they opened! They open at 11 o'clock, and when I arrived 15 minutes early, there were about 5 groups ahead of me. The interior of the shop had a calm tatami mat atmosphere typical of Kyoto. This time, I ordered a set of matcha warabi mochi and matcha. It arrived about 10 minutes after ordering! The warabi mochi was covered in plenty of matcha. It looks cute too. The black syrup was rich and went perfectly with the matcha. Enjoying sweets while looking at the scenery of Gion is the best.

I happened to go on a day when there wasn't much of a line, so I was able to get in in about 3 minutes. I ordered warabi mochi, but it didn't have a particularly unique taste and I don't think they used real warabi. The price was also quite high, around 2000 yen per piece of warabi mochi, which is quite expensive for what it is.

I arrived 15 minutes before the opening on Sunday, but there were already 3 groups waiting in line. After that, more customers arrived one after another, and there were about 5 groups behind me. The inside of the restaurant had tatami seating, and the building and inner garden had a very nice atmosphere. Orders were taken and served in the order of entry. I had warabi mochi with kinako and matcha. It was very soft and chewy with a great texture. The matcha had a bitterness and a wonderful aroma. The amount of black syrup poured, about half, was just right to taste the kinako and matcha flavors.

On the second day of my Kyoto trip, I went to Gion to visit Kiyo Komori, a charming dessert shop. The building and atmosphere were lovely. I ordered a set of warabi mochi and matcha. The warabi mochi had a nice chewy texture and was delicious. The black honey was not too sweet and made it even tastier. I kept licking the black honey even after finishing the warabi mochi. The matcha in the set was also delicious, making it a place where you would want to stay longer.

Matcha warabi mochi parfait ¥1,700 A must-visit shop when in Kyoto. Located in a prime location in Gion, the atmosphere is excellent. It seems to be frequently used for TV filming as well. With the sound of the river right in front of you and a charming garden, the parfait is also very satisfying. This is my favorite shop, and I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the delicious meal.

Matcha Warabi Mochi ¥1300 Mini Green Tea ¥300 The warabi mochi was soft and chewy, with a cute appearance and delicious taste. Despite a bit of a wait, I was very satisfied. The mini green tea I ordered to go with it was also very tasty, especially on a hot day. The location allowed me to feel the atmosphere of Gion's streets, which was nice.
