I felt like eating Sri Lankan curry, so I researched the COVID-19 measures in advance and went to "Fushigi Kousai Tuna Papa," a curry restaurant in Tenjin, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City. It was my first visit with a friend. We arrived at the restaurant on the 5th floor by elevator at 12:20 on Thursday. As a measure against the new coronavirus infection, hand sanitizers were available and the staff were disinfecting the tables after each customer. The seating options were at the counter or at a table. Since it was lunchtime, the restaurant was almost full with previous customers. Luckily, we quickly found an empty table. We ordered the lunch set (990 yen including tax) which includes a choice of curry from four types, and we chose the Sri Lankan curry. A salad and water were served promptly. The salad was shredded cabbage with a tangy dressing. The curry arrived five minutes later. It looked like a watery soup curry. I took a bite and it was spicy and delicious, full of spices that made me sweat profusely from my forehead. The chicken and potatoes as toppings were tender and tasty. Lastly, we were served ice cream and iced tea. The ice cream and iced tea helped to reduce the spiciness of the curry and tasted even better. I was full and satisfied with the affordable Sri Lankan curry lunch. Thank you for the meal. I will definitely visit again.

Lunch for 1200 yen. Sri Lankan curry was rated 3.5, salad 3.3, ice cream 3.4, and tea 3.4. The food was delicious but spicy! The ice cream and tea were lifesavers. Next time, I will go easy on the spiciness. I also want to try the noodles and dry dishes. The restaurant gets full quickly after opening, so arriving just before opening is recommended.

During a business trip to Fukuoka, I asked where everyone usually goes for lunch, and they recommended Tsuna Paha. I was surprised to try Sri Lankan curry instead of ramen in Fukuoka! The curry had different levels of spiciness, and I chose the default level (which was still pretty spicy for me). The soup was watery but had a unique filling sensation and was delicious. I want to challenge myself with a spicier level next time once I get used to it. If you're getting tired of ramen and wondering what to eat, I highly recommend this place. Give it a try! ✨

This restaurant serves lunch until 5pm. Since they are involved in supervising retort curry, I had been wanting to visit. I had an early dinner around 4pm. There is no parking lot, so I had to park at a nearby coin parking. I heard that parking fees are cheap in Hakata, but it was surprisingly expensive in Tenjin. It was a shock! As expected, it is the busiest district in Kyushu. Instead of the lunch menu, we ordered individual dishes - my companion had Sri Lankan curry and I had noodle curry. The difference between Sri Lankan curry and noodle curry is the rice and noodles, but I think the curry itself is the same. The curry consists of beans, meat, and vegetables in equal parts. It is watery and spicy. It is spicy from the first bite. My companion likes spicy food, but even they were eating while tightly holding a paper napkin. The noodles, what kind are they? They are similar to vermicelli with a light seasoning. They go well with the spicy curry! It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

To me, a curry lover, the name Tsunapaha stands out as the most famous curry restaurant in Fukuoka, I think. This is actually my second time visiting, the first time was before the era of Tabelog (a restaurant review website) haha. In Fukuoka, only Hatsu Napa and Nuwara Eliya were talked about, but recently there are more curry restaurants popping up. As for the taste, well, if you love curry, you should definitely go at least once. I think it's a curry that would appeal to almost everyone, with not many people having strong likes or dislikes.

I visited the restaurant on the 5th floor of a building along Tenjin Nishi Street on a Saturday at 1 pm and was able to enter without waiting. I ordered the Sri Lankan curry lunch for 1200 yen, which included curry, salad, ice cream, and red tea. The food arrived in just 1-2 minutes after ordering. The spiciness level was standard, about 3 stars. It had a mild sweat-inducing spiciness, so those who don't like spicy food should definitely avoid it. The curry was watery, which is not usually my preference, but this one was quite good. The dressing on the salad had a soy sauce-like taste, which was interesting. The highlight was the ice cream and red tea, which were exceptional. I almost thought this was an ice cream shop because of how delicious the ice cream was, and it complemented the slightly spicy curry perfectly. The red tea tied everything together. It was a delightful experience. Thank you for the meal.

Upon arriving in Fukuoka, my first meal was Sri Lankan curry at the highly recommended Tsunapaha. The curry looked very appetizing and I had high expectations. The meal started with a salad, which had a unique dressing that caught my attention. Then, the Sri Lankan curry was served. It was a mix of two types of soup with rice, offering a pleasant level of spiciness that I enjoyed and finished quickly. The dessert, yogurt ice cream, helped to cool down the spiciness and left me completely satisfied. I will definitely come back again!

I had a lunch set with Sri Lankan curry. I chose the spiciness level as normal. It was just the right amount of spiciness for me, with a slight sweat on my nose. If you are not good with spiciness, I recommend having it with lassi to help reduce the spiciness. The curry was smooth with spices and coconut. The rice was also cooked just right.

I entered through the side of Nishidori Pudding on Nishidori Street and took the elevator to the 5th floor. I ordered the Sri Lankan curry lunch. The salad was quickly brought out, and I started eating with a fork. The dressing was different from the orange dressing at Indian curry shops, it was light and refreshing. As I was eating, the main Sri Lankan curry was brought out. The spiciness was recommended by the staff as 3 stars, and it was a nice and refreshing level of spiciness. The chicken was delicious and the portion was generous. Finally, I had ice cream and iced tea, and it was a satisfying lunchtime.

The curry is delicious and spicy. It has a refreshing aftertaste that makes me feel like I can blow away my frustration by eating it. Ordering it as a set with the sherbet that comes at the end does a great job of completing the meal. This curry is complete with dessert included. Next time, I'll try the noodle curry.

Located on the 5th floor of a building across from Tenjin Iwataya, this restaurant may be a bit hard to find from the street. Inside, there are counter and table seats, with window seats offering a view of the city. I ordered the lunch set for 1200 yen with a large serving for an additional 120 yen, available until 5 pm. There are 4 types of curry available, and I chose the Sri Lankan curry which was slightly spicy, featuring chicken curry and dal (lentil) curry on that day. The set also comes with salad, ice cream, and tea. The large serving is quite generous and delicious. It may not beat the Sri Lankan curry in Kumamoto, but being in a prime location in Tenjin, I am satisfied.

Born and raised in Fukuoka, I went to a Sri Lankan curry restaurant near Tenjin Station in Fukuoka called "Tsuna Paha" to have some Sri Lankan curry. The restaurant was located on the 5th floor and had a stylish interior with yellow walls, natural wood tables, and chairs. I ordered the Sri Lankan curry set for 1,200 yen, and the food arrived in just 2 minutes. The curry looked delicious with its milky color from the coconut milk. Although I'm not a fan of spicy food, I found the curry to be delicious. It had a nice blend of spices, coconut milk, and green chili peppers, which gave it a rich and mellow flavor. The curry also came with dal curry, which was healthy and tasty. The chicken pieces were large and juicy, just the way I like them. Even the potatoes, which I usually don't enjoy, were surprisingly tasty. As I was eating, the staff kindly offered me a refill of the curry sauce, which I gladly accepted, despite the fact that I was sweating from the spiciness. The meal also came with yogurt ice cream for dessert and a drink, which helped cool my mouth. Overall, the food was delicious, the staff was friendly, and the interior was stylish. I highly recommend this place! Thank you for the meal.

I had a spicy Sri Lankan curry for lunch. It was spicy but refreshing. The rice seemed to be saffron rice, and there were crunchy snacks on top. You can get a refill of the curry sauce. The staff was friendly and pleasant.

I was taken to this restaurant by a friend who lives in Fukuoka for the first time! The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice, and the staff were friendly! The regular customers and other guests were also nice. The Japanese-style salad was surprising with a lot of vegetables piled up! The sweet dressing helped balance out the spiciness of the curry. I could choose between rice and noodles for the Sri Lankan curry. As a beginner, I ordered the dry curry (rice), while my friend ordered the noodles. Even at a normal level of spiciness, it was still spicy but had a delicious spiciness to it! The drink options were also plentiful, and it was a wonderful restaurant experience!

I visited around 3:00 pm on a regular day. Despite it being after lunch, there were several customers in the restaurant. They offer lunch sets until 5:00 pm, which is convenient for those looking for a late lunch. The lunch set includes a choice of curry (about 4 types), salad, ice cream (gelato), and tea (hot or iced). You can choose the spiciness level of the curry, but be careful as even the mild option can be quite spicy. I chose a 2-star spicy curry and it was very hot. For those who are not good with spicy food, I recommend choosing a 1-star spicy curry. Even if you are confident with spicy food, I suggest starting with a 2 or 3-star spicy curry for the first time. The taste is very delicious! Despite being spicy, the rich coconut milk flavor is addictive!

Today's dinner was at Tsunapa-san in Tenjin. There were many options to choose from, but I decided to revisit this place to have the delicious Sri Lankan noodle curry that I had tried before at their sister restaurant, Otsunna-san. I arrived around 7:30 pm and the restaurant was more than half full, but there were still some empty seats near the entrance. After looking through the menu, I ordered the Rasa Bojun, which is the Sri Lankan noodle curry, and another dish that caught my interest called Ethnic Doria.
The Rasa Bojun came with chicken curry, potato curry, beets, pork balls, parippu, and vegetable curry - a total of 6 different curries. The base sauce was coconut-based and very flavorful. It was delicious at first, then got spicy, and eventually very spicy. Even though it was spicy, I couldn't stop eating it. Mixing it halfway through enhanced the flavor. They allowed one curry refill, so I asked for more of the coconut-based base curry, which was basically like adding more curry soup.
The Ethnic Doria was a chicken cream doria with a hint of spices. Ketchup was a key ingredient. On its own, it might seem a bit tame for a curry dish in a curry restaurant. However, if you are overwhelmed by the spiciness of the Rasa Bojun, this dish will be like an oasis. It was a coincidental but great combination of orders. It wasn't trying too hard to cater to Japanese taste, but it was still suitable. But it was spicy! A solid and well-balanced Sri Lankan curry. The service was very hospitable and overall, it was a great experience. Thank you for the meal.

I visited a famous Sri Lankan curry restaurant in Hakata. I informed them it was my first time, and they recommended their special Sri Lankan curry. It was a plate with chicken, potatoes, and chickpeas. They asked if I was okay with spicy food, and I said yes, but the standard level was quite spicy. However, the taste was addictive and delicious! (For those not used to spicy food, I recommend ordering with less spiciness)

I pushed through the crowd at Ichiran or Shin-Tenchi and took the elevator to the 5th floor to order the Noodle Curry Lunch Set. It had a spicy kick that was delicious and addictive! The chicken was tender and tasty. I wish there were more toppings, but overall it was delicious!

Curry 100 is a curry restaurant located in Tenjin. It serves authentic Sri Lankan curry, with a great view from the window seats overlooking the city. The lunch set includes curry, salad, ice cream, and tea for 1,200 yen. The cabbage salad has a sweet soy-based dressing that is delicious. The noodle curry has thin, soft noodles mixed with vegetables and is quite spicy, but the aromatic spices make it addictive. The meal ended with ice cream and iced tea, which was very refreshing. Thank you for the meal.

Whenever I go, there are always a lot of people lining up. Sometimes I just crave Sri Lankan curry, you know? There must be something in it (lol). Even though the price has gone up, at 1100 yen, I still want to eat it even if I have to wait in line. I chose my favorite noodle curry. The plate was filled with curry sauce. The aroma of the spices is irresistible! Stir-fried noodles cooked in oil, coated with the curry sauce... The spiciness that chases after the deliciousness! Super spicy! I love it! Even though it's spicy, I keep eating more and more. Creamy with coconut milk, but spicy with spices... that's the best part! By the time I finish it while being absorbed, there's a refreshing yogurt ice cream with blueberry sauce on top! It completely neutralizes the spiciness in your mouth... Sometimes I just really crave it, you know? There must be something in it, right? (lol) The classic Sri Lankan curry that stands out with spices - Tsunapaha.
