Finally visited this BAR, which has become one of the tourist spots in Kyoto. I visited after having a meal at Bunoa with a set reservation. The panoramic view of Kyoto city is fantastic, and the close-up view of the five-story pagoda is impressive. However, the cocktails were disappointing. Due to the season, I ordered my favorite Bellini, but it turned out to be juice instead of fresh, so I canceled it. I then ordered a cocktail with fresh grapes and mango, but unfortunately, it was not great. The gin and tonic that my companion ordered came with a glass full of crushed ice and a small bottle of tonic water stuck in it. It was a disappointing gin and tonic that seemed watery and was more focused on Instagrammable appearance. I think this is a BAR where you can enjoy the scenery. Anyway, I was very satisfied with the amazing view.

It is probably one of the most popular bars for dates in Kyoto. The atmosphere is great and young people are captivated by it. The service is excellent and we had a very fulfilling experience. The cocktails were also easy to drink.

The restaurant is quite a distance from Gion-Shijo Station, so many people prefer to take a taxi. However, it's only a 10-minute walk from Kodai-ji Temple, so you can enjoy the atmosphere of Kyoto while walking. The ambiance is great, with a smoking area available. The dishes and appetizers are delicious and well-received. On the day of my visit, the legendary bartender Minoru Nishida was there, which was very exciting. Prices are around 990 yen for beer, 1800 yen for champagne, and 2000 yen for seasonal fruit cocktails. The prices for dishes and appetizers are also quite reasonable. Please note that there is a seating charge of 1100 yen per person.

The Mojito here was delicious, with plenty of mint piled on top. I wonder if there are any other places that serve Mojitos like this one. It was recommended by a friend, and I think I'm going to get hooked on Mojitos. Even though I can't drink, having a second drink for the atmosphere was nice, and it was a truly wonderful Roof Top Bar where you can relax and enjoy yourself."

I went to see the Five-Storied Pagoda at night because I thought it might look beautiful. I arrived earlier than sunset time. The restaurant was crowded, so we had to wait. Luckily, we were able to enter at the right time. It was a lovely rooftop bar with a great view of the sunset and the Five-Storied Pagoda. Highly recommended, a unique experience in Kyoto!

We stretched a bit and made a reservation to visit, but when we arrived, we had to wait in line at the entrance. However, we were seated in less than 20 minutes. It was a rooftop bar, so the warm breeze of the May evening was pleasant. Since it was a bit pricey, my student friends and I ordered a pizza and a main dish to share. They kindly asked if we would like it to be shared and even provided us with plates for sharing.

The bar was created by renovating a former elementary school, which has been in operation for about a year. The exterior and interior are both beautiful and stylish, but there is a lingering sense of the school's atmosphere, with a long corridor that gives the impression of imagining classrooms along the way. The main counter where the legendary bartender Minoru Nishida stands exudes an authentic atmosphere and a calm ambiance reminiscent of a renovated classroom. Above all, the deliciousness of the cocktails made by Nishida and his hospitality make for a comfortable and wonderful time. It is also nice to ask for a seasonal fruit cocktail or a classic cocktail, or simply tell your preferences and leave it to the bartender. The mojito, with mint wrapped around the entire glass, is a frozen cocktail that traps the aroma inside, ensuring that the scent lasts until the last sip! K36 features both indoor seating and an outdoor rooftop area, which is particularly popular. The building itself is a renovated former elementary school from 1933, now transformed into a modern and stylish space. While K36 is open to guests staying at The Hotel Seiryu, non-guests can also make reservations by booking a course at the hotel's restaurant "BENOIT Kyoto" for 9000 yen or more. I visited around 5 pm and there were still seats available, but by 6 pm there was a waiting line, so I recommend making a reservation, especially for sunset. The view of Yasaka Pagoda up close is truly impressive. The cocktails were delicious and beautifully presented, I especially enjoyed the "Sex on the Rooftop" cocktail. I had a great time from afternoon to sunset, but I look forward to visiting again to enjoy the night view.

The purpose of this trip was to enjoy the bar at this hotel, which I found to be lovely during my previous visit. Unfortunately, the weather was cold this time, so I couldn't stay long at the rooftop bar. Instead, I spent time in the guest lounge, which was surprisingly nice and free for guests. I realized that rooftop bars are quite weather-dependent. The hotel's hospitality was excellent, but I had some doubts about the maintenance of the room. The drainage in the bathtub and sink was poor, and some electrical outlets were loose. I informed the front desk, but I believe for a hotel of this class, these issues should not exist.

I really wanted to go to this bar, especially since it was open in the winter. However, I couldn't go to the terrace I wanted to because of the snow. The view was beautiful though. It was quite expensive, 8000 yen per person, which included a cover charge. But the hotel was really cool, so I think it's worth a visit. I visited a rooftop bar in Kyoto located on the 5th floor of Hotel Seiryu, which was renovated from an elementary school. It must be very lively during good weather. I visited in January, just before a severe cold wave, and it was a very cold day with temperatures around 10 degrees. The outdoor area had many heaters, making it surprisingly comfortable. They provided thick blankets and outdoor hand warmers for guests. Even though I didn't use the hand warmers, I was fine without them. While they don't usually take reservations, if you have a reservation for a meal at the hotel, you can make a reservation in advance. I made a reservation after having a full-course lunch at Bunoa. Since I had to drive later, I couldn't drink alcohol and was too full to eat anything. I considered ordering a non-alcoholic drink, but decided against it due to the cold weather. I ordered a cafe latte, which tasted normal. They charged a cover fee, but provided snacks like pretzels and nuts. The location is lovely, but in winter, the greenery looked a bit withered and sad. However, it's a nice place to relax. I would like to visit again in a better season. Besides the bar, they also offer lunch sets and cake sets. Due to the cover fee, the prices may be a bit higher compared to other places.

For over 80 years, the beloved local school, Shimizu Elementary School, has been renovated into a hotel called "The Hotel Seiryu Kyoto Kiyomizu." Located on the rooftop is "K36," known for its outdoor rooftop bar offering stunning views of Higashiyama's cityscape, with a highlight being the view of Yasaka Pagoda at Hokan-ji Temple. The view is especially beautiful at night when the pagoda is lit up. While there is a seating charge and the food prices are a bit high, the view alone makes it worth it.
