What! Even though it's Chinese, this place is also part of the Ushigoro Group? This is a part of the ultimate yakiniku group "Ushigoro Group"! [Store Overview] "Ushigoro" is a super famous yakiniku group that everyone has heard of at least once! While expanding dozens of group stores in the Kanto region, each store provides quality meat without fail. The most casual and Western fusion "Ushigoro Bambina", the fusion of Japanese sake and yakiniku "Ushigoro Kan", for those who want to eat a little better meat "Ushigoro", for those who want to eat good meat elegantly in a private room "USHIGORO S", and for those who want to enjoy high-quality meat dishes "Ue". They entertain us in various ways! Recently, "Yakiniku Hormone Ushigoro" has also opened in Nakameguro and Ginza. And this time, we visited "CINA New Modern Chinese", a restaurant where you can enjoy "evolutionary" Chinese cuisine that incorporates cooking techniques from various countries around the world. The name "Chīnā" is said to have been handed down from the Qin Dynasty to the Chīnā China region, and from there it became "Chinese" in English! The restaurant has a spacious counter and table seats, where you can enjoy your meal in a calm atmosphere. [Dining] This time, I enjoyed the herbal hot pot course that I was looking forward to! You can enjoy Daizan chicken, Wagyu beef tongue dumplings, domestic pork, and 12 types of mushrooms that are good for nourishing and beautifying in two types of herbal hot pot soup, white soup, and spicy soup! Both of these soups are delicious! The white soup, which is packed with the umami of beef, is super rich but not heavy and delicious! And the mushrooms are to die for! There are 12 kinds of mushrooms in it... and they were so delicious that I ended up ordering more! I couldn't resist the mushroom party... Although it's a bit pricey for a hot pot, you will definitely be satisfied! I also want to come back to try the popular "Crab and Rich Egg Crab Fried Rice" for lunch next time! Below are the dishes we had. @@@@@@@@@@@@@ Herbal Hot Pot Course 7480 yen CINA Salad with Celery and Red Heart Radish CINA-style Shojin Karaage Truffle & Beefun Seasonal Ingredient Spring Roll 1 Herbal Hot Pot [2 types of soup, white soup, spicy soup] - Katoh Pork - Daizan Chicken - Chicken Meatballs - Homemade Shrimp Balls - Cotton Tofu - 12 types of mushrooms (Shiitake, White Cloud Ear Mushroom, Mushroom, Tamogitake, Mountain Priest Mushroom, White Dance Mushroom, Tanba Shimeji, Mountain Enoki Mushroom, Jumbo Nameko Mushroom, Makomodake, Awabidake, Tokiiro Hiratake) Chinese noodles for finishing Dessert @@@@@@@@@@@@@

This is a Chinese restaurant owned by the yakiniku restaurant "Ushigoro" group. I visited without making a reservation for a course and was recommended to enjoy a variety of delicious Chinese tapas dishes. I tried the finely sliced jellyfish and coriander salad, CINA-style century egg tofu with truffle & vermicelli. It had a stylish feel and seemed to go well with various types of alcohol. I had a 10-year-aged Shaoxing wine. For the main dish, I had the sought-after nourishing herbal hot pot set. It included free-range chicken, chicken meatballs, premium pork belly, homemade shrimp balls, cotton tofu, and 12 types of mushrooms known for their nourishing and beautifying effects, served in two types of herbal soups. The 12 types of mushrooms included shiitake, white wood ear mushrooms, button mushrooms, etc. The staff prepared the hot pot for us, and as the mushrooms cooked, their volume surprised me. The aroma of the simmering chicken meatballs was delightful. The variety of mushrooms, including some I had never tried before, added complexity to the flavors, making the dish incredibly delicious. The spicy flavor of the red hot pot was subtly balanced, and the aroma of the white soup was wonderful. The textures and flavors of the mushrooms were all unique and enjoyable. To finish, we had Chinese noodles with a firm texture that paired perfectly with the flavorful soup. My stomach was satisfied, and my body felt warm and invigorated. This nourishing herbal hot pot was the best I've had, and I look forward to visiting again. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I had a lunch course for around 3000 yen. In short, the restaurant is very user-friendly! It's great that you can try various dishes. I ended with tan-tan noodles. The slightly steep slope from the station might be tough for those with strollers. Thank you for the meal!

I thought it might be tough to get in without a reservation at this popular restaurant, but I was able to walk in around 12:30 on a weekday without waiting in line. I ordered the sweet and slightly tangy pork cutlet set meal, which was exactly to my liking. The dish was simple with just pork and lotus root, but the pork was crispy on the outside and deliciously fragrant. I also ordered a mini mapo tofu on the side, which was flavorful and satisfying. The spiciness of the mapo tofu was mild. The total cost was reasonable at 1,500 yen, making it a great choice for a quick and delicious lunch in Ebisu.

Entered the store. The interior has a modern atmosphere with concrete finishes. There is a counter in front and table seating towards the back. The warm lighting creates a calm ambiance, perfect for a date. We tried the approximately 7,400 yen herbal hot pot course this time, paired with a highball. There were 4 appetizers followed by the hot pot. Additional ingredients for the hot pot can be ordered separately. The drink selection is decent. The dishes had a complex seasoning rather than strong Chinese flavors, which paired well with the drinks. The simple celery salad was also delicious with a mild Chinese twist, making it enjoyable even when eaten over rice. The dishes were just right in terms of portion size. The depth of flavor in the hot pot, including the soup, is a highlight of this restaurant. The dessert of lychee ice cream was a perfect ending. Will definitely visit again.

Located about a 5-minute walk from Ebisu Station in Shibuya, Tokyo, "CINA New Modern Chinese" is a restaurant operated by the Ushigoro Group, known for its quality and selection as one of the "Top 100 Chinese Restaurants in Tokyo". I made a reservation for the "Flavorful Medicinal Hot Pot Course" (7,480 yen) on Eatigo about a week ago and visited on a Saturday night. The staff asked about any disliked ingredients, and they kindly adjusted the celery salad to a potato salad for me. The hot pot was prepared efficiently at the table by the staff, so we just had to sit back and wait. There were two types of soup for the hot pot: a clear broth and a spicy one, each with its own unique flavors. With 12 varieties of mushrooms in the hot pot, it was a delight for mushroom lovers. The meat, made with "Katou Pork", was tender and delicious. The course included a wide range of dishes from salad to dessert, all of which were highly satisfying. Since "CINA New Modern Chinese" is operated by the Ushigoro Group, the high quality is guaranteed. I believe it is the perfect place in Ebisu to enjoy Chinese cuisine casually.

Peony Course 3800 yen The interior of the restaurant is very stylish, and the other customers who were dining there seemed to be fashionable as well. The dishes that stood out as particularly delicious were the Chicken with Sichuan Pepper and Chili Stir-fry and the Sweet and Sour Pork. The chicken was juicy and the aroma of the Sichuan pepper and chili really stimulated the appetite! The sweet and sour pork was very tender, and the addition of berries provided a nice touch of acidity, making it easy to eat and very tasty!

Today, I attended a fashion exhibition organized by a friend at 1 pm and had lunch at a restaurant I had been curious about for a while. This place is affiliated with the yakiniku restaurant Ushigoro. It's located about a 10-minute walk from Ebisu Station. I arrived a little after 12:30 pm. The restaurant is on the 2nd floor of a building, and as soon as the elevator opened, I was right at the entrance. The place was almost full, but there were a few seats available at the counter, where I was seated. When I asked the staff for recommendations, they suggested sweet and sour pork or fried rice, but being a fan of spicy food, I ordered the tantanmen noodles (1100 yen) with a side of mini mapo tofu (300 yen). It took about 10 minutes for the food to arrive. The menu included tapas, vegetables, and dessert, but the tapas were like vermicelli, which was honestly not very impressive. The vegetables were average. The tantanmen noodles had a mild level of spiciness, but a strong sesame flavor. It had minced meat and nuts, giving it a nice texture. The noodles were thin and cooked just right. The tantanmen noodles were of decent quality. The mapo tofu, on the other hand, was not very special. The spiciness and numbing sensation were weak, and the flavor was lacking. I was glad I didn't make it my main dish. The mango pudding dessert, or rather mango mousse tart, was delicious. Overall, I felt like I should have chosen the recommended sweet and sour pork or fried rice. I visited the restroom, and it was clean, with isop being used, which would be appealing to women. It seems like a trendy Chinese restaurant in Ebisu, with a good vibe. The private rooms seem convenient. I thought it would be nice to try their hot pot at night.

Chinese cuisine Tokyo Top 100 Restaurants 2023, lunch from 1100 yen at Ebisu. The black chili shrimp was featured on the TV show "Ousama no Brunch". Visited on Thursday at 12:10, seating rate was about 50%. Initially worried as the elevator was full once and the last visit was fully booked, but luckily it was available today. The elevator ride up before was for a private party, perhaps? The interior is still stylish, even after a year. Last time, there was no lunch menu on holidays, so revisited for the lunch menu today, and yes, they have it. It's still hot, so I ordered the cold tan-tan noodles... Oh? I wrote the same thing yesterday at Masazuki Kitchen from the Top 100 list. Well, it's the last day of August, so they might remove the cold menu soon, so it's fine to have it twice. Also ordered the mini mapo tofu that I couldn't try last time. Asked if it comes with rice, but they said no, so I confirmed if there is mini rice, and it was available, so I ordered that too. The dishes arrived in about 10 minutes, the portion looks generous. The rice seems like a regular serving, so I might skip the second lunch today. The set includes two appetizers, mini mapo tofu, rice, and mini dessert. The two appetizers are well-seasoned and delicious. The mapo tofu has a good level of spiciness from the sweet bean sauce, which I like. The cold tan-tan noodles are in a light tea broth with chili oil, visually appealing, and the sesame flavor is rich, with minced meat, green onions, and even peanuts, which is very tasty. I started eating normally, then made a mapo tofu rice bowl with half of it, and later changed the flavor by pouring the sesame sauce from the cold tan-tan noodles over it, enjoying the different tastes until the end. The bill was settled at the table, 1400 yen including tax, and I could pay by card. The cold tan-tan noodles were 1100 yen, and the mini mapo tofu was 300 yen, so was the rice complimentary? It was delicious, so I might come back next time to try the limited fried rice.

Hot pot is made for you style. It was a birthday party, so it was nice to be able to concentrate on the conversation and have it made for you. The spiciness was mild and the numbing sensation of the Sichuan pepper lingered on the tongue a bit. The Paitan broth had been simmered for 6 hours, so it was rich and delicious. The a la carte dishes were also tasty and stylish in appearance, perfect for a girls' night out. The restaurant had a high percentage of female customers. I think the counter seating is great for a casual date.

The CINA Renka course seems to be the most popular, so when my friend and I went, we wanted to try different courses. We ordered the Jasmine Tea Chinese Tapas with 4 varieties, a salad without celery but with zasai instead, glass noodles with truffle and coriander, drool-inducing chicken spring rolls (sweet with shrimp and corn, perfect for kids), fragrant square blocks of sweet and sour pork, mapo tofu, and tantanmen. For dessert, we had Mandarin orange sherbet. There were table counters as well as private rooms for around 8 people available.

The restaurant interior is stylish and the hot pot is delicious, although it's spicy (not a fan of spicy food). I ordered a course menu, and besides the hot pot, there were small portions of various other dishes, so even if you eat a little, you'll be very satisfied. The prices are a bit high, but if you love hot pot, I definitely recommend going.

[Nearest Station] Ebisu Station West Exit → about 4 minutes on foot When you come out of the west exit, go up the slope along the tracks and you will find the restaurant on the 2nd floor of a building around the top of the hill. The slope is honestly a bit tough to climb, haha. When you take the elevator to the 2nd floor, you will be greeted by an L-shaped counter right in front of you. Behind that, there are table seats. The whole place has a grey color scheme and almost all of it is glass, creating a bright space filled with sunlight, which I personally love. I had a reservation for the counter seat at 12:30 today, but the restaurant was already full. Lunchtime seemed to have a lot of women, probably because of the reasonable prices. [Today's Order] Holiday Lunch Lotus ¥2,800- ◆Chinese Tapas 4 kinds - CINA salad with celery and red core daikon - Sichuan drooling chicken - Thinly sliced jellyfish and coriander salad - Seasonal vegetables ◆ Seasonal vegetable spring rolls ◆ Aged black vinegar sweet and sour pork ◆ Sichuan pepper mapo tofu or ◆ Sesame scented dan dan noodles ◆ Dessert (mandarin orange sherbet) Among the lunch courses, the Lotus course is the most reasonable. You can also order a la carte items for lunch. The four tapas that come out first are all placed on the table at once. The drooling chicken, in particular, was incredibly tender and the sweet sauce and nutty texture were absolutely delicious. The sweet and sour pork main dish had a crispy surface and was very tender inside, cooked with great care. The flavor was more sweet than sour, and it was also delicious. The mapo tofu at the end had an initial sweetness, but the aftertaste was a strong flavor of spices and a hint of spiciness. The dan dan noodles were not too spicy, more on the creamy side. I didn't have high expectations for lunch, but I was impressed by the taste from the appetizers to the main dishes. The seasoning was well-balanced, not too spicy or too sweet, making it enjoyable for anyone to the end. This Chinese cuisine is not too traditional, and anyone can enjoy it in a casual and relaxed atmosphere. It's a rare find to have Chinese food that you can come back to again and again. And most importantly, it's delicious! I will definitely come back! Thank you for the meal! Rating at the time of posting (3.65)

The importance of cooking with fire is often heard, and this restaurant seems to have skilled fire handlers, as dishes that give the illusion of being cooked with flames keep coming out one after another. Located in Ebisu, a place known for high expectations when it comes to food, this restaurant does not disappoint. I recommend giving it a try.

It was incredibly delicious!!! I was happy to be able to try many different dishes in a course. The presentation was beautiful, and the taste was also excellent. The food was not overly seasoned with artificial flavorings, but instead highlighted the natural flavors of the ingredients in a simple yet well-balanced way. I felt satisfied. The hospitality was also wonderful, and I had a great time. I will definitely visit again!

The atmosphere of the restaurant is great ^-^ It seems to attract a calm clientele, mainly for girls' gatherings, I guess? This time, I made a reservation for the herbal hot pot course. It looked spicy, but the spiciness was totally manageable! Maybe it's tailored for Japanese people? The chicken broth was also delicious. I got a stomach ache from hot pot at another restaurant I went to before... Since the dishes here are generally healthy, I would like to visit again for lunch ^-^

I used the restaurant for lunch on a regular day and added a mini mapo tofu to the black vinegar pork set. I arrived at 1:00 pm and entered without waiting. The sweet and flavorful pork was tender and the texture of the lotus root was good. The sauce was quite sweet and tasty, but I was expecting a bit more acidity in the black vinegar pork. The mapo tofu was okay, not good or bad. The mango pudding dessert was sweet and tangy, with no hint of unripe mango's unique green scent, and it was delicious. Thank you for the meal. However, I was very concerned when I used the only restroom in the shop, as even the male staff left the toilet seat up after using it. It was a bit dirty and I didn't want to touch it before eating, but I had no choice but to lower it, so I wrapped paper around it and managed to deal with it somehow. Although it may be unavoidable for the staff to use it, the lack of restroom etiquette in the unisex restroom is not something that should be done by the staff of a restaurant. It may be a student part-time job, but I seriously doubted their common sense. While it may not be fair to lower the overall rating of the restaurant because of one staff member, unfortunately, I don't feel like revisiting the restaurant... I hope this comment reaches the restaurant...

This was my second visit. I tried a different menu from last time, but I was still very satisfied this time. Especially, the squid ink shrimp chili had a rich flavor, and the combination of mini tomatoes and gnocchi was innovative. I would like to try it again a la carte, and in the fall, I plan to try the hot pot. It's a wonderful restaurant.
