It was incredibly delicious! We went with three people and ended up eating about seven servings because it was so good. The beer went down really easily and we couldn't stop eating! The staff were very friendly and I definitely want to visit again. I recommend going there on an empty stomach!

I visited the restaurant after 9 PM. Despite it being close to the last order time, there were quite a few people inside, showing its popularity. I ordered the recommended miso-flavored motsu nabe right away. I also tried the vinegar motsu, another recommended menu item. The rich soup paired well with the motsu and was very delicious.

The quality of the food was higher than the cost performance, and I was very satisfied! The hot pot was delicious, and the other dishes were also tasty. I highly recommend "Sumotsu". The service was polite even to foreign customers, and they had a separate menu in English, so I thought it was a good restaurant. The restaurant is not very spacious, so I think it's best for couples or families.

I ordered miso soup. At first, I thought the taste was light, but it gradually became stronger, and when I added condiments, it became delicious again. The horse sashimi I ordered together was also fresh and delicious! The turnover is fast, so even though I was full, the second round was almost full. It's really popular!

The atmosphere was nice, and the staff were very friendly. We had a delicious motsunabe. It was a bit disappointing that they didn't have sesame mackerel due to the approaching typhoon, but the sesame kampachi they recommended instead was very tasty.

A famous restaurant in Daimyo known for its motsunabe (offal hot pot). I have been wanting to visit this place for a while since I have visited Fukuoka for business a few times. This time, I was in Fukuoka for purely private reasons, so I made sure to come here. I walked from my hotel in Watanabe-dori through the bustling streets of Tenjin and Daimyo to reach the restaurant. The stairs were narrow and steep. The place was always full, so I think making a reservation is a must. I ordered the Wagyu motsunabe in soy sauce flavor. It was served beautifully in a bubbling hot pot. I poured the soup over the chives on top and waited for them to soften a bit before eating. I was worried about any unpleasant smell, but there was none. The richness of the soup was amazing. The garlic added a boost of flavor. Even though it was the middle of summer, I finished the whole pot in no time, sweating a bit from the heat. I really wanted to try the squid sashimi, but apparently, that's only available at the main branch. That was the only disappointment, but I learned how delicious motsunabe can be. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

Going up a narrow and steep staircase with a unique flavor, you will find a cozy old-style restaurant. If you want to eat motsunabe (tripe hot pot), this is the place to go. The tripe is tender and the portion is just right for two people. The thickly sliced sesame mackerel is also delicious and satisfying. I forgot to take a photo, but you must try the tomato dish. It's amazing.

I visited the restaurant on a Friday night for a company drinking party. I had made a reservation two weeks in advance as it is a popular place. The restaurant has a retro exterior in a corner of Daimyo, but the inside is very clean and has a hidden gem-like atmosphere. For the motsunabe hot pot, you can choose from three types of soup: miso, soy sauce, and spicy motsu. This time, I tried the recommended "miso flavor". The combination of the richness of the Japanese beef and the mildness of the miso made the soup very delicious. The ingredients include cabbage, garlic chives, as well as burdock, tofu, konjac, and enoki mushrooms, making it a nutritious meal. In addition to motsunabe, there are also other delicious dishes such as sumotsu, sesame mackerel, mentaiko, and simmered fish, so you can fully enjoy Fukuoka by visiting Maeda-ya.

I made a reservation for a trip. Perhaps because it was early, we were seated in a semi-private area, which made it feel like we had the place to ourselves, which was nice. The motsu was fresh and very delicious! We had seconds and enjoyed it a lot. Unfortunately, they were out of the other dish we wanted, "gomasaba," so we tried "gomakanpachi" instead. It was also delicious. This is a restaurant we want to visit again.

After climbing up a narrow and steep staircase, I arrived at a motsunabe (offal hot pot) restaurant. Despite just opening, the place was already filling up with customers. Since I had never tried motsunabe before, I followed the recommendation and chose the miso flavor. I usually don't drink much of the soup in hot pot dishes, but the rich flavor of this one made me want to slurp it all up. I even ordered the rare chijiremen noodles for the finishing touch. If you share the same last name as the restaurant, "Maeda," apparently something good will happen if you mention it. Thank you for the delicious meal.

Based on a recommendation from a friend living in Fukuoka, I made a reservation here. Even though it was a weekday, it seemed fully booked. The interior of the restaurant was filled with autographed color papers from celebrities. We ordered a la carte dishes such as miso motsunabe, sesame mackerel, and white senmai liver, along with various alcoholic drinks + vegetable and motsu refills + noodles as a finishing touch. It's important to note that you need to order motsunabe for the number of people in your group, otherwise, the soup won't be added. Adding just the soup is more cost-effective. The motsu in motsunabe was chewy, and the miso had a rich flavor. The noodles at the end were quite filling! Although we ordered a la carte, the seating was limited to 2 hours, so I felt like opting for a course menu would have been better. Next time, I would like to try something spicy. I came to this popular restaurant based on the reputation of their motsunabe (offal hot pot). It is highly recommended to make a reservation well in advance as seats are almost fully booked a week before. The recommended motsunabe was delicious. The first sip of the soup made me go "mmm!" The sweet miso flavor seeped through my body. The second bite of the motsu made me go "mmm!!" The tender yet chewy motsu had a satisfying texture. From the third bite onwards, I became so engrossed in eating that I fell silent. The garlic chives and cabbage were essential supporting players. Oh, it was delicious. Even the noodles at the end were amazing. If motsunabe is this delicious, I could eat it every day! The side dishes, mentaiko (spicy cod roe) and vinegar motsu, also lived up to expectations. If there was a restaurant like this nearby, I would visit frequently. It was a perfect feast to start off my Fukuoka trip!

I made a reservation at Maedaya, which had good reviews, for my first trip to Fukuoka. It's a popular place, so we had a reservation starting at 5:00, but we were running late due to our own circumstances. When we contacted them about being late, they kindly changed our reservation to 15 minutes later. The horse sashimi, sesame mackerel, and the long-awaited motsunabe were all really delicious! The sesame mackerel had a great texture and flavor, and the miso seasoning and chewy texture of the motsu in the motsunabe were excellent! I definitely want to go back when I visit Fukuoka again. ^ ^

When visiting Fukuoka, there are plenty of motsunabe (tripe hot pot) restaurants to choose from, and while there's no definitive best one, I felt like I made a great choice by coming here! The menu is extensive and the food is delicious. When I ordered a beer, the glass had a message that said "Adding dignity to motsunabe." It's true that motsunabe doesn't have the most dignified image, being made from a less popular part of the animal, but it's really tasty! I ordered motsu, horse sashimi, sesame mackerel, a two-person motsunabe, and noodles for dessert, and everything was of high quality and delicious! I sat at the counter, which had a great atmosphere. Also, there seems to be some sort of special benefit if you can prove that you're a Maeda (a common surname in Japan) – when I visited, the person sitting next to me was actually a Maeda! Unfortunately, they left before I could find out what the benefit was. If you're curious (and a Maeda), definitely check it out!

I went to Maedaya, a recommended motsunabe restaurant by locals in Fukuoka. First, I tried the sesame mackerel, which was fresh and had a nice texture, making it a perfect dish to go with drinks. After enjoying some chicken skin, I headed to a popular motsunabe (tripe hot pot) restaurant in Fukuoka. We arrived at 7:00 without a reservation and were seated near the entrance. We ordered motsunabe miso and enjoyed some anago sushi as an appetizer while sipping on a highball. The soup was a creamy pork bone broth and the tripe was tender and delicious. We ate lots of vegetables and felt healthier afterwards. The appetizer was a bit pricey at 400 yen, but it was tasty.

I arrived at around 12 pm on a holiday and the restaurant was almost full. We ordered two servings of miso motsunabe, beef vinegar motsu, and a couple of drinks, costing around 3800 yen per person, which was a reasonable price. We started with the beef vinegar motsu, which had a decent level of acidity. The main motsunabe arrived about 15 minutes after ordering, and it was a visually appealing and hearty dish that really stimulated the appetite. The motsu was good quality, and the vibrant colors of the leeks and red peppers were excellent. The soup was miso-flavored with plenty of garlic, creating a perfect balance of garlic punch, miso sweetness, and richness. The vegetables included cabbage, leeks, shimeji mushrooms, and konjac, but the motsu was the star of the dish with its chewy and delicious texture. The high-quality motsu was packed with concentrated beef umami, providing a satisfying and flavorful experience. While you can find delicious motsunabe in Tokyo, the miso flavor was a nice change from the typical soy sauce broth. Eating motsunabe in Fukuoka adds to the overall enjoyment, especially with the strong garlic flavor. The curly noodles were served with a rich miso broth, and adding chili flakes elevated it to a superb miso ramen. Motsunabe is often associated with nighttime dining, but when visiting a tourist destination, it's best to eat what you want, when you want.

I visited for lunch. I ordered the miso-flavored Wagyu tripe hot pot (1450 yen), beef tripe (680 yen), and white sesame salad (880 yen). The hormone was tender and the soup had a slightly sweet miso flavor, bringing out the richness of the hormone. The tripe was soft and refreshing, my favorite I've had so far. I visited this restaurant on the first night of my trip to Fukuoka. My main goal was to try motsunabe (tripe hot pot) and sesame mackerel. They also had Kumamoto horse sashimi as a special recommendation, so I decided to try that as well. I chose the miso flavor for the motsunabe, which was the most popular option. The miso flavor had a subtle hint of shiokoji, and it was delicious without being too fatty. The addition of chili peppers added a nice kick to the flavor. The sesame mackerel and horse sashimi were both fresh and tasty. The portion sizes were a bit small overall, but it worked out well for me since I had plans to visit another restaurant as well.
