For lunch, I had chicken curry at "Rojiura Curry Tiki" and continued my food tour in Fukuoka in the afternoon. The first stop was "abeki" in Yakuin. They are known for their cheesecakes, so I had to try one. I arrived around 12:30 and ordered a cheesecake and a cafe au lait. The atmosphere inside was quiet, so my friend and I spoke in hushed tones. We ordered the famous cheesecake and iced coffee! It took about 1 hour for the cheesecake to be served due to the crowd. The cheesecake was sweet, rich, and creamy, incredibly delicious! I tried a bit of my friend's white chocolate cheesecake, and it might be even better than the regular one! The white chocolate flavor was strong and smooth! The richness, perfect sweetness, and milky taste all combined to make it amazing! I would love to buy a whole cheesecake to go from here, that's how good it was! It's been a while since I found a high-quality cheesecake like this! There are rules like a one-hour limit and keeping conversations quiet, but since everyone except me was foreign customers that day, there didn't seem to be any strict enforcement. I ordered an iced coffee and a cheesecake in search of a delicious cheesecake. There were three types of cheesecake available: plain, chocolate, and white chocolate, but since it was my first visit, I chose the plain cheesecake. The coffee, brewed carefully one cup at a time after ordering, had a pleasant aroma. The cheesecake was neatly measured and cut. The mysterious music playing in the background of the shop created an atmosphere that felt like it wasn't in Japan. The rich cheesecake paired perfectly with the coffee. It was delicious. The shop has a small counter and about four table seats. The atmosphere is unique with Gregorian chant-like BGM playing. I had the White Chocolate Cheesecake for 500 yen and a Cafe au Lait for 600 yen. My companion had the regular cheesecake. We shared both, and they were both delicious in their own way. The chocolate one was sweeter, while the regular one had a stronger cheesecake flavor. We were lucky to get a table right away, as customers kept coming in. They also offer cheesecake for takeout. This place has a ceremonial atmosphere, so it's a place to enjoy sound and silence. Even though it says to be quiet due to COVID-19 measures, it's still noisy, especially in Hakata. Even in a restaurant with dim lighting, it can still be noisy... From the exterior to the uniform white outfits of the staff, the sound system resembling hymns, and the ritualistic atmosphere with cutlery, this place should be enjoyable even during waiting times if it's quiet. The hot coffee and cheesecake set costs 1100 yen. The coffee is medium roast with a balanced acidity, not too fruity or flavorful. The cheesecake is not too sharp and has a nice milky taste. Perhaps the combination of both not being overpowering is what makes it good. This place has always been famous and had long lines, but this time it may just have been bad luck.

To Abeki in Yakuin. This shop is famous for its cheesecake with a rating of 3.52 on Tabelog. It is known for long lines on weekends, but today I visited almost right after opening and was able to enter without waiting. The shop owner's attire (white coat), the atmosphere inside the shop, the music, etc., all create a unique world view, and for a moment I regretted coming in, but then the shop owner made eye contact and I entered. The inside of the shop feels like a church with relatively loud music playing, and I thought the shop owner must have a strong and unique personality, but in reality, they were just quiet, and there were no strange rules in the shop. The woman next to me seemed to be completely amused by this unique atmosphere and was laughing throughout. I ordered coffee and white chocolate cheesecake. The shop is run by the owner alone, and the coffee is carefully brewed one cup at a time, so it takes a little time to be served. During that time, I cleared my mind and immersed myself in the church music, and after listening for a while, this unique space strangely became comfortable. As I was enjoying this, the cheesecake and coffee arrived. The coffee had a moderate bitterness and acidity, and it was well-received by everyone. The white chocolate cheesecake was rich and moist, with the perfect match of sweetness from the white chocolate, and it was incredibly delicious. It was honestly more delicious than I expected, so I asked for a half-size white chocolate cheesecake to go. I was prepared to be warned when I placed the initial order, but there was no such thing, and they kindly agreed. The coffee was hand-dripped from freshly ground beans, and each cup was made with care. It had a great aroma and tasted delicious. I recently became interested in making cheesecakes, and I have to say, they are delicious! I usually don't easily admit when something is delicious, but in this case, I have to. The owner has a great aura, but the tables are small and not very comfortable for someone like me who is a bit on the heavier side. However, this is just my personal opinion. The golden, cool fork slid smoothly into the softness. When I took a bite, a gentle and cute sweetness spread in my mouth. I couldn't tell if the white chocolate was enhancing the cheese or if the cheese was enhancing the white chocolate... maybe both. The sweetness of the two complemented each other well, and the balance was good, so I kept eating more and more. It paired perfectly with the sweet and sour apple juice. It was a very pleasant experience, and I felt a sense of "harmony." A unique and mysterious café where you can enjoy the cheesecake and the distinctive atmosphere. The cutlery and plates were also lovely, so I slightly regret not buying them.

I visited "ABEKI," a coffee shop recommended in Okinawa for the first time. I couldn't decide between iced coffee and cafe au lait since they were the same price, but I ended up ordering iced coffee and cheesecake. The cheesecake was just the right amount and delicious, perfect with the coffee. The shop is not very spacious, so I recommend going alone or with one other person.
