I went shopping at Takashimaya and was looking for a place to have lunch after. I thought sukiyaki would be nice, so I decided to go in. The restaurant was not crowded. Most of the customers coming in were foreign tourists. It seems to be popular. I ordered the Sukiyaki set for 2970 yen, while my wife ordered the grilled set for the same price as she didn't want sukiyaki. The Sukiyaki set was delicious. I love sukiyaki, so the portion was just right for me. It was easy to eat, so it was good. Interestingly, the foreign customers were ordering more expensive courses.

Lunch on the anniversary with my wife was satisfying and cost-effective. The sukiyaki meal was delicious and I was impressed. We arrived around 1 pm on a weekday, so we were able to get a table right away. The meat was amazing, and the rice and pickles were so tasty that I wanted seconds. I can't come often, but I definitely want to visit this restaurant again for its food, atmosphere, and location. Thank you so much.

(1) Sukiyaki set meal ◇ Customer service... Quick and efficient ◇ Infection prevention, hygiene tables... Clean chairs... Clean disinfectant only at the entrance ◇ Other... Visited during lunchtime. There was a short wait with several groups in line, but the lunch had good portion sizes and was satisfying.

During my trip to Kyoto, I received a regional coupon worth 2000 yen, but surprisingly, there weren't many places where I could use it. The traditional Kyoto townhouses and department stores like Isetan were not eligible. However, I heard that there were some exceptions, so I decided to use it for lunch on the second day at the Takashimaya restaurant floor in Shijo Kawaramachi. I wanted to try something different from the traditional Kyoto cuisine, so I opted for a meat dish. I visited a sukiyaki specialty shop, which is a Kyoto-only store with its main branch in Teramachi Sanjo, established in 1873. The lunch menu included sukiyaki and grilled fish sets, both priced at 2970 yen. I ordered the sukiyaki set and was promptly seated at a table without having to wait. The sukiyaki was served with rice, miso soup, and pickles. The beef was of high quality and well-seasoned, cooked in the Kansai style with soy sauce, sake, and sugar. The portion size was generous, and the side ingredients like onions, shirataki noodles, grilled wheat gluten, and tofu were delicious. The meal was satisfying, and I would love to visit again if I have the chance.

I was taken to this restaurant on a special day. I ordered the sukiyaki set meal. This place has an early last order time, so be careful. The food arrived promptly after ordering. The meat was tender and of high quality. The sukiyaki sauce had a delicious, high-quality taste. There are many famous restaurants on this floor of Takashimaya besides Sanshuntei. Please visit and try it out.

Established in the 6th year of the Meiji era, "Sanjotei" is a restaurant. Since the main store in Teramachi Sanjo is closed on this day, I had lunch at the Kyoto Takashimaya store. While many people order the Sukiyaki set, I recommend the Steak set (around 4,000 yen) or the Grilled Fish set (around 3,000 yen). The steak meat is even more tender than it looks in the photos and is truly amazing. The retro atmosphere and spacious seating make for a comfortable dining experience, and the prices are more reasonable compared to the main store. Thanks to the travel support coupon, the meal was a great deal (almost free), which made me feel a bit guilty.

I couldn't get a reservation at Sanjyutei Honten, so I went to a restaurant inside Takashimaya where no reservation was needed. I was torn between ordering sukiyaki or sukiyaki set, but since I was short on time, I ordered the sukiyaki set. I was served in about 5 minutes after ordering, probably because I was at the front of the line since before the opening. I didn't have high expectations since it was around 3000 yen, but as soon as I took a bite, the deliciousness of the meat spread, and it was truly amazing. It looked like it was made from lean meat and good quality cuts, but it wasn't too bloody, and had just the right amount of fat, making it well-balanced. It's truly wonderful to have something this delicious at this price. I would like to try it in a hot pot next time.

Kyoto's probably main downtown station, Hankyu Kyoto Kawaramachi Station. The station building is occupied by Takashimaya. This is a branch of a famous Kyoto restaurant located in the restaurant area. Although the main store is within walking distance, I have never gone alone. However, I find it easy to use this Takashimaya store alone. Therefore, I mainly use this place when dining at Mishimatei. Their specialty is sukiyaki, but since it's summer, I opted for a light steak. The fillet steak was tender, and the butter and lemon on top gave it a nostalgic touch that I enjoyed. Grated soy sauce was also provided, and it was delicious. Well, this set costs 3,960 yen including tax, so it has a calm atmosphere. With the higher prices, the clientele is also more upscale, and I like the fact that it's not too noisy. It makes me feel like I'm eating at a long-established place in Kyoto. Next time, I think I'll go for sukiyaki even if I'm alone. Kyoto actually has many delicious bread and meat restaurants. Therefore, in Kyoto, my family enjoys meat dishes like the ones at Mishimatei and tonkatsu at Katsukura. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal.

Sanjima-tei is known for its sukiyaki. The service staff carefully prepare it in an iron pot. The high-quality meat with just the right amount of marbling is a treat. The sauce, with its sweetness from sugar, complements the meat perfectly. I originally wanted to dine at the main branch, but it was full during lunchtime on a holiday. So, I ended up waiting for 30 minutes at the Takashimaya store to enjoy it. Honestly, I thought spending ten thousand yen on lunch was expensive, but considering the quality of the meat, the variety of vegetables, and the attentive service of the staff, I believe it's reasonable. With this meat, there's no way you won't want more rice. The strong-style sukiyaki is superb. If I had to make one suggestion, it would be that the dried wheat gluten in the miso soup wasn't fully dissolved. Thank you for the meal.

It's been a while since I had steak. It's a different feeling from yakiniku and it really lifts my mood. The good quality meat is delicious, but the portion of rice was small... and refills were charged extra. Unlike the old steak meat, the mystery butter on the marbled meat nowadays may not be necessary... it doesn't go well with grated ponzu sauce. A rare indulgence, thank you for the meal.

I saw a recommendation for a sukiyaki restaurant on TV and decided to go. The prices were quite high, so I thought I might as well go for the most expensive option at 9000 yen for lunch. It's a bit pricey, but definitely worth trying at least once! I'd like to go again, but...

Sanjyutei is a long-established restaurant with over 130 years of history, founded in the 6th year of the Meiji era. The main store is located in Teramachi Sanjo, and there is also a branch at the Dining Garden on the 7th floor of Takashimaya Kyoto. It's a casual place where you can feel free to enter. The interior is a lovely traditional Japanese space where you can relax. For lunch, I ordered the Sukiyaki Zen (2,750 yen). You can easily enjoy high-quality Japanese beef that has been simmered in a special sauce. It comes with egg, rice, pickles, and miso soup. The Sukiyaki that was brought to the table looked beautiful with its delicious meat. I dipped it in the beaten egg and enjoyed the tender meat with its rich flavor. The flavor of the sauce enhances the meat, and the tofu and vegetables cooked together are also delicious. I was able to enjoy the Sukiyaki of this long-established restaurant.

I had a Kyoto-style sukiyaki lunch at Sanjotei. The meat was clean and delicious, and the staff cooked it for me, so I was satisfied. You can enjoy a good quality of meat just like at other branches, so you can eat with peace of mind. Being located in Takashimaya makes it convenient for dining while shopping.

My friend from Kanto came to play and said they wanted to eat sukiyaki, so I searched and found this place! I had heard of it before but thought it was too expensive. However, I realized that you can eat sukiyaki for under 3000 yen at lunch, so I decided to go here on a holiday. Reading the reviews, I saw that the lunch sukiyaki set sometimes sells out, so I was worried. I called the restaurant to confirm and found out they have shortened hours until 2:00 PM. They don't take reservations, so I changed my plans and went before visiting the shrines. I'm glad I called. It wasn't crowded, and we were seated right away. The sukiyaki was delicious, the meat was very tender and melted in my mouth. The seasoning was on the sweeter side and very tasty.

My partner had errands at Takashimaya, so we had a light lunch there. I had the shabu-shabu set meal for 2,750 yen and my partner had the steak set meal for 3,960 yen. The amount of meat was just right and it was tender and delicious. Thank you for the meal. It was noon on a weekday, but the customers were sparse. The area around Shijo was also quiet due to the influence of the coronavirus. I hope it will be resolved soon.

In winter, I start to crave sukiyaki. When it comes to sukiyaki, for me, Sanjotei is the best. It was the day before a year-end party, and I didn't feel like walking through the cold Teramachi Street to the main store. I went to Sanjotei on the 7th floor of Takashimaya with my yoga teacher for the first time. As expected, it was a high-end restaurant area, completely different from the hustle and bustle outside of Shijo Kawaramachi. There was a menu placed in front of the store, and the staff said to the peeking inbound customers, "Today, we only have the premium sukiyaki." The regular size was around 110g for just under 7000 yen, and the premium size was around 130g for just under 10000 yen. Once I had come this far, there was no turning back. I entered the store and ordered the premium sukiyaki. I was surprised when the meat was brought out. It was very marbled, and the meat was pure white. Just like at the main store, the waitress cooked the meat for us. I whisked the egg and waited. They cooked right in front of us, so the smell of sugar and sauce mixing with the meat was irresistible. I took a bite of the rolled meat in a small dish with the egg. Wow. It's been a while. Just like at the main store. I couldn't help but text my wife, "The meat is delicious," to which she replied, "Of course." After the first piece of meat, they cooked vegetables and tofu for us. The vegetables and tofu were delicious too. Two more pieces of meat to go. The second piece of meat was served with Mitsuba leaves. The third piece was served with rice. Everything was perfect. Finally, we had yuzu sherbet. It took 45 minutes to finish the meal. Short and sweet. It was a blissful moment that was over in a short amount of time.
