At the newly opened Nepalese restaurant "Rato Moto" in Okubo, after enjoying a drinking party and getting ready to leave, the owner appeared and mentioned that they also have a shisha bar nearby. I was guided to the location, which turned out to be a building filled with shady body massage parlors near Okubo Station, just 20 seconds away. Despite living in Okubo for three years, I had never entered this building before. Upon entering, I found a lively atmosphere with mostly young people, a stage with a live band performing, and a full menu of Nepalese dishes. I was surprised to see the kitchen equipped with numerous skewers, and the energetic gals dancing to the loud music made the experience even more exciting. If I were 10 years younger, I would have joined them on the dance floor. It was quite an unexpected experience to see these quiet girls who usually work at gyudon shops, convenience stores, and izakayas having fun with their compatriots in a foreign land. The place was like a party hotspot, and I might just have to visit again next weekend.
