I was guided to a seat with a good view by the pond and my excitement rose. Although I thought it was a high-class restaurant, it had a casual atmosphere and the staff's service was pleasant. This time we ordered a la carte dishes. The appetizer platter had 6 different items, all delicious. For the main course, I had Stonefish Acqua Pazza with clams, crabs, mussels, and scallops. The fish was tender, and I enjoyed the remaining soup as a delicious risotto. The Penne Gorgonzola pasta was a bit firm and salty. The Margherita pizza was simply delicious. Dinner was either a 7500 yen course or a la carte. Next time, I would like to try their dessert buffet.

You can make a reservation for a sweets buffet 5 months in advance on the 1st of every month (details on the website). It's always a fierce battle to get a reservation, but I was lucky to see a cancellation notice on Instagram a week before and managed to book it by calling immediately. The buffet includes appetizers, main dishes (choose from about 5 options like pasta), sweets, and drinks. During dinner time, you can go for finger foods when the appetizers arrive, and then get sweets and drinks when the main dish is served. So rest assured, no one takes sweets until the pasta arrives, meaning you can take as many beautiful pictures as you want. However, this time (9/14/2023), there was a group of middle-aged or older people who went for sweets before the appetizers arrived, and they left the main dishes untouched on the table. It was really disappointing. I think the restaurant staff may have planned the schedule this way to prevent food waste and ensure that guests can take nice pictures of the sweets before the pasta arrives. Let's enjoy our meals with manners and respect! The staff was also very kind and created a pleasant atmosphere!

I love this restaurant. I visited on a weekend night and was able to make a reservation by phone just before going. I ordered a la carte and enjoyed the stylish seafood dishes. The Aqua Pazza, which brings out the flavor of the ingredients, was exquisite and the staff kindly served it. The man who used to come before was no longer there, but the female staff was wonderful and made the dining experience enjoyable. Every dish was carefully prepared, and I wanted to try even the soup. I hope to visit the main store on the remote island someday.

I finally went to a restaurant that I had been curious about for lunch. The lunch menu had three options: a pasta lunch for 1,950 yen, a main dish lunch for 2,500 yen, and a Matsushima course for 5,000 yen. The Matsushima course includes both pasta and a main dish, as well as dessert, so I was intrigued, but I decided to go with the pasta lunch. First, they brought out a common appetizer that was incredibly delicious, raising my expectations. The soup that followed was also amazing. And then, the pasta! It was undeniably delicious. I chose the oil pasta, and although I had never found one that I thought was tasty before, today's oil pasta with seasonal fish was flavorful and light, making me realize that I can enjoy oil pasta here in the future. The bread itself had a hint of sweetness and was delicious. The only thing I wish was that there had been prior information on whether we could get refills on the bread, as it would have been perfect with that. Everything was so delicious, so this restaurant has become one that I want to visit again.

This time, I visited Bistro Matsumi located at 1-4-12 Minamihonmachi, Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City. I went for lunch, and although there is free parking available, it was full so I parked at a nearby coin parking lot. The restaurant is bright with high ceilings, giving a sense of openness. The window seats overlook a lake, and the glass windows create a pleasant atmosphere. For lunch, they offer a Pasta Lunch for 1950 yen, a Main Lunch for 2500 yen, and the Matsumi Course for 5000 yen, which includes an appetizer platter (6 kinds), homemade bread, and soup. I ordered the Pescaatore pasta. The appetizers included vinegar-marinated small sardines, red sea bream carpaccio, Italian-style omelette, grainy mustard potato salad, and eggplant gratin. I was surprised by the variety and quality of the appetizers, which were served in small dishes and beautifully presented. The homemade focaccia was soft and delicious, making me want to have more. The main pasta dish was filled with plenty of seafood like red shrimp, scallops, snow crab, and mussels. The noodles were thin and slightly al dente, which I enjoyed. The seafood broth added a rich flavor to the dish, although it made it a bit difficult to eat. The staff were attentive and provided excellent service, making it a pleasant dining experience. There is a photo session at the beginning, which is nice♪ It's surrounded by dried flowers and looks very cute♡ All the customers were women this time. Most were in their 20s to 40s. The meal starts with an appetizer. This time it was Tomato and Mozzarella Cheese Arancini with Mushroom Sauce. It's like a soft rice croquette and the sauce is delicious. For the main course, you can choose from 5 options. I love pasta, but whenever I see the word "Doria," I'm always drawn to it since I was a child. I had Wagyu Beef Homemade Bolognese Meat Doria with Egg, and my companion had Sakura Shrimp and Seasonal Vegetable Oil Pasta with Beer. The meat Doria with egg in the middle was delicious, but since both the appetizer and the main course were rice-based, I already felt full (*°∀、°*) Now I have to eat cake... Well, desserts are in a separate stomach, right? I told myself that and aimed to try all the desserts at the buffet!! The drinks were coffee and tea, either hot or iced. As you can see in the pictures, I started by getting two plates first. The conclusion is, you can't be too greedy. They were delicious, but it was tough (*°∀、°*) I managed to eat everything to not waste any, but I couldn't finish the last 3 items (Gateau Chocolat, Tiramisu, Cookie) due to my stomach's condition. My favorite was the caramel pudding with a bitter taste, and the second was the simple chiffon cake because it's light and easy to eat. The others were delicious too♪ Eating the fresh fruits in between the cakes in the glass helped refresh my palate and kept me going. There are two restrooms, and the door on the left was tricky. When I tried to open it, I got stuck in the door. (´▽`) '` '` '` Am I the only one who experienced this? It was also difficult to close. Holding my full belly, I felt happy♡ Thank you for the meal.

"Alicia's Food Log: I managed to jump in just after lunch time, but had to wait for about 20 minutes due to reservations. It seems to be quite a popular restaurant. I waited on a bench outside the restaurant. The inside of the restaurant is bright with high ceilings. You can see the river from the windows. I chose the 3 pasta lunch set and the main lunch. The appetizer platter had 6 varieties followed by warm bisque soup and pasta. Each dish was carefully made and I was impressed with each bite. The food was delicious, but the hospitality of the staff was amazing! The atmosphere was so comfortable that I ended up drinking a bit too much."

Appearance and taste were both satisfying! I was brought here to celebrate my birthday. The food was excellent, and the atmosphere in the restaurant was very calm, making it a truly happy time. When chatting with the chef, I casually mentioned it was my birthday, and at the end of the meal, they brought out a cake plate for me. The ambiance, staff, and food were all top-notch at this restaurant.

A restaurant located a 6-minute walk from Zoshuku Station on the Nishitetsu Tenjin Omuta Line and a 7-minute walk from Minami-Fukuoka Station on the JR Kyushu Kagoshima Main Line. They hold a dessert buffet on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of every month from 11:00-13:00 and 13:30-15:30, priced at 2,800 yen for adults, 1,000 yen for elementary school students, and 500 yen for children aged 3 and above. They also offer a dessert buffet on the 2nd Thursday of every month from 18:30-21:00, priced at 4,000 yen for adults, 1,000 yen for elementary school students, and 500 yen for children aged 3 and above. Reservations are accepted by phone starting at 9:00 on the 1st of each month (or the next day if the 1st is a holiday), for bookings 5 months in advance. Reservations can be hard to get through, but I was lucky to connect in about 5 minutes. I made a reservation for dinner as I was also interested in the finger food all-you-can-eat option. Lunch includes appetizers, pasta, and free-flowing coffee and tea, while dinner includes appetizers, pasta, and finger foods. Upon arrival, temperature checks and disinfection are conducted before being seated. You can choose your main dish and order coffee or tea after. I chose the Karatsu-produced mentaiko and small pillar cream pasta. There is ample time for taking photos, and the finger foods start being served around the time the appetizers are finished. The appetizer was a salmon and mochi barley salad, with a refreshing acidity and a nice chewy texture from the mochi barley. The cream pasta was rich with mentaiko, small scallops, diced daikon, chopped green onions, and shredded seaweed. After the main dish, there was a slight delay before anyone went for dessert, and we were prompted by the staff to do so. The desserts ranged from cakes to baked goods, all meticulously prepared. The cheesecake had a perfect balance of tanginess and smooth texture, while the Basque-style cheesecake had a crispy outer layer with a gooey center. The mimosa cake resembled mimosa flowers with its fine sponge, a unique addition to the buffet. The finger foods at dinner were easy to pick up, but the additional 1,200 yen compared to lunch felt a bit overpriced to me. Overall, the event was compact but of high quality, explaining its popularity. However, booking can be challenging with a 5-month waitlist, making it a bit of a hurdle. Due to my less-than-optimal condition, I couldn't eat as much as I had hoped, so I'll aim for a lunch reservation next time for a chance at redemption.

Ordered Tangsu mentaiko and cream pasta with small pillar. Added a dessert set. The appetizers were colorful and impressive. All were creative and delicious. The pasta portion seemed small at first, but turned out to be quite filling. The pasta was also very tasty. Didn't take photos, but the sweet potato soup was deliciously sweet. By the time I finished the pasta, I felt like my stomach was going to explode, so I regretted choosing cake for the dessert set. Overall, the taste was very good, but one disappointing aspect was the attitude of the staff. The servers who brought the dishes all spoke quickly and hurriedly placed the plates. Even if they were busy, couldn't they be more careful when serving? Despite the wonderful atmosphere and good food, the impression was tainted by the attitude of the staff.

I couldn't eat the course meal before, so I had the a la carte menu which was very delicious. However, when I tried the lunch course later, I found that out of the 6 dishes in the appetizer bento box, only one was delicious. It was disappointing and a letdown.

The buffet is held every month, but it is very popular, so they accept phone reservations for 5 months ahead on the reservation day of each month (if there is a cancellation just before the event, they may announce it on Instagram, so it is possible to pick up a cancellation). This time, the event was in August, so I made a reservation in March. Lunch has two sessions, and the buffet table is beautifully reset for each session, so you can take photos of the famous beautiful buffet table without any missing items even during the 2nd session. Luckily, we were guided to a table by the window with a great view. I started with lunch♪ First, the appetizer "Salmon and barley rice salad" A summer-like salmon dish in a glass. The slight acidity and the texture of the barley were good. Next, the main course (shared between two) "Thick-cut bacon and onion cheese tomato pasta" Packed with diced bacon. The cheese was so stretchy. "Wagyu beef homemade bolognese meat doria -served with egg-" A hot and hearty dish! You break the soft-boiled egg in the middle. It goes well with the bolognese sauce! Both main courses were quite filling. ← I was already quite full at this point haha. After finishing the main courses, it was time for dessert♪ My companion suggested having dessert after the meal, so we decided to enjoy them separately. The buffet table was so stylish~ I had seen it a lot on Instagram, and now I finally saw the real thing! Cakes decorated with seasonal fruits like figs and grapes, glass desserts, baked goods. The lineup was well-balanced and constantly replenished, showing their experience in hosting such events. The MVP was the "Pudding" Even though there were many options, this one was really delicious. I went around various places during the day and came back early in the evening, so we went out for dinner as a family. My wife requested Matsushima-san, which we haven't been to in a while. We enjoyed ordering a la carte dishes. It was nice to catch up with the manager, whom we hadn't seen in a while, and we had a great time chatting. The mushroom salad was especially delicious. Thank you for the meal! Matsushima-san never disappoints whenever we drop by. Now, I think I'll give the cat a bath when I get home.

I walked quite a distance to a coin parking lot far away, as it was the only one available. It was a good exercise. I had a meal while looking at the river or pond in front of me and the garden trees. Most of the customers were women. The food was delicious but a bit difficult to eat, yet still delicious. (laughs)

Pasta lunch for 1800 yen ◆ Appetizer platter with 6 varieties, raw fish salad, frittata, Italian-style rice croquette, Bolognese with eggplant and cheese, steamed chicken breast and rapeseed salad, small sardines in nanban sauce, focaccia, cauliflower cream soup, oyster cream pasta +300 yen, and iced tea after the meal. The chef, originally from Karatsu, Saga, prepares the dishes. The soup and pasta were particularly delicious! The restaurant has a great riverside view, many seats, and was surprisingly crowded for a weekday lunch. Highly recommended for dates, with very good service. On a weekday in mid-February, my wife and I visited a restaurant for the first time as it was near the location of a business meeting in the morning. We planned to arrive for the 11:30 am opening, but the person we were meeting with was very talkative, so we ended up arriving just before 12 pm. The parking lot in front of the restaurant was full, but my wife went to check if there were any available seats, and luckily there was one. The restaurant had a chic and stylish interior, and there were 5 groups of customers already there. We ordered the pasta lunch for 1,800 yen, which included today's appetizer, soup (cauliflower potage), homemade bread, choice of pasta (oil pasta with sea bream), and coffee. The main lunch for 2,100 yen included today's appetizer, soup, homemade bread, choice of main dish (grilled Kagoshima black pork), and coffee. We were served 6 types of appetizers, including roast beef, pumpkin and cream cheese salad, salmon sashimi salad, frittata, eggplant bolognese mozzarella cheese bake, which were visually appealing and decent in taste. The pasta with sea bream had a generous amount of fish and was delicious with a hint of yuzu pepper, satisfying my wife. The black pork dish I ordered was very tasty with well-seasoned flavors, but the portion was a bit small. The soup was delicious, and the coffee and bread were average. Overall, we left feeling satisfied, but considering the cost-performance ratio, we were unsure. We would like to come back for dinner next time to try a heartier meal. We paid 4,000 yen using PayPay, with an additional 100 yen for an extra bread roll. I used it for lunch ♡ There was a line, so next time I'll make a reservation. It was so delicious that I definitely want to go again. We shared the food, so the photos are mixed up, but it was delicious from start to finish. I was surprised that it was only 2000 yen for such a good meal. By the way, the set with main and dessert for around 4800 yen with no additional charge was also amazing.

I visited this restaurant on the first day after the state of emergency was lifted. I had been wanting to go since I moved to the neighborhood. The food was even better than I expected, and I left feeling full. The birthday cake was a really nice touch. Thank you very much. The course meal included: carpaccio, 6 appetizers, abalone in puff pastry, potato soup, pasta with whitebait and seasonal vegetables, pan-seared fresh fish, and Miyazaki beef steak.

I left home late and wandered around looking for a place serving lunch. I ended up here and ordered the course menu since I was short on time. You can also add a dessert set. The appetizer set was delicious as always. The soup was potato soup, and the meat was Itojima pork cooked perfectly! The outside was nicely seared while the inside was juicy, something I can't achieve at home! It was a bit rushed, but thank you for the wonderful meal!

Once a month, Bistro Matsushima holds a dessert buffet that is quite difficult to reserve. A friend had made a reservation for us a while ago. The appetizers were brought out first, followed by the option to choose one pasta dish from several choices. Then came the array of desserts, all looking delicious and tempting. I ended up trying a bit of everything and managed to finish it all. The buffet also included unlimited coffee and tea. It was a very satisfying dessert buffet experience!
