Located a little off the main street of Monja, this place has about 5 box seats and is not too big. There are various types of Monja-yaki available, allowing you to enjoy different flavors. The staff are polite and will teach you how to cook it properly. I enjoyed eating the crispy burnt parts.

It was a long time since my last visit to this restaurant. This place is where I first thought "monja" was delicious. While Tsukishima is known for "monja," they also have modern yaki and teppanyaki. It was during the peak of Golden Week, so some customers had to wait for 2 hours outside. I always make reservations, so I didn't have to wait in line. The food was delicious as always. Thank you for the meal. Thank you very much.

I made a reservation for Sunday at 5:00 PM. The restaurant was fully booked due to reservations. Although the restaurant was open until 9:00 PM, they did not do a second seating and put up a closed sign around 8:00 PM. The recommended sweet shrimp okonomiyaki was cooked by the staff. There seems to be a specific process, so it might be difficult if you don't leave it to them. The sweet shrimp shells were also grilled well and tasted delicious. However, compared to other okonomiyaki, the price is a bit high, so I'm not sure if I would come back. We also ordered pork kimchi cheese and plum and whitebait. I was looking forward to the plum and whitebait because it's a rare menu item, but once cooked, I couldn't taste as much plum as I expected. It's a shame. The mushroom butter and scallop butter had a huge portion. It was just the right size for three people to share. Even if we ordered two drinks each, it didn't cost more than 4000 yen per person. Overall, it was a very satisfying restaurant experience!!

Located a 7-minute walk from Tsukishima Station Exit 7, "Monja Kuru Mi" stands in a back alley off Monja Street. First, let's talk about the exterior. The hidden location gives it a cozy and chic atmosphere. Inside, the small and homely interior has 5 table seats. I had made a reservation, so when I arrived around 5:30 pm, there was only one other group of customers. I ordered the restaurant's specialty, the "Tsukishima War," which is a unique blend of "kwa green juice" and shochu, a healthier version of the popular "ocha war" (although not exactly healthy with alcohol in it). Surprisingly, it had a refreshing and easy-to-drink taste! While sipping on the Tsukishima War, I was amazed by the extensive menu of monja dishes available. Of course, there were also okonomiyaki and teppanyaki options, making it a tough decision. After some research, I decided to try another specialty, the "Sweet Shrimp Monja." I also had another round of Tsukishima War (lol). After an 8-minute wait, the Sweet Shrimp Monja arrived, and it was visually impressive! It looked like a pyramid of shrimp! The staff skillfully prepared it, and the end result was delicious. The rich essence of the sweet shrimp was fully extracted, providing a savory and delightful taste. The crispy head part was also a delightful crunchy treat. Creating unique monja dishes that stand out from others must be quite challenging, and I truly appreciated the effort put into the Sweet Shrimp Monja. Overall, it was a delicious dish, and I highly recommend trying it when in Tsukishima.

When it comes to monjayaki drinking in Tsukishima, everyone has their favorite hidden gem of a restaurant and there is a subtle competition going on to show off. Today, we visited a place that my friend wanted to try out. It's a bit away from Monja Street, with an old-fashioned atmosphere and a quaint interior. The place was packed with a long line of people waiting. It's very popular. The must-order dish is the mushroom butter, where you get miraculously large mushrooms. I was tempted by the konjac butter that the person next to me ordered, and it was a delightful combination of crispy konjac and sweet and sour sauce that made me go crazy. The sweet shrimp monjayaki, which can only be enjoyed here, was a festival of sweet shrimp flavors bursting in your mouth. Everything was so delicious that I couldn't believe such a wonderful restaurant existed off the main street. The menu seemed to suggest that they wouldn't cook everything for you, but they ended up cooking almost everything for us, or at least making adjustments. The restaurant is not flashy, but it has a calm and relaxing atmosphere. I left feeling satisfied and full.

"People often say that those living in Tsukishima do not go to the monjayaki restaurants. I live in the neighboring Minato area, and there is only one monjayaki restaurant that I frequently visit. 'Kuru Mi' here serves an exceptional 'motsu nikomi' (simmered offal). My favorite is mixing the motsu nikomi sauce into the monjayaki. The photo shows one of their signature dishes, the 'Modern Yaki,' which is like a Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki with sauce poured generously on top. The staff here are friendly and helpful, assisting customers with cooking. I highly recommend this restaurant to those who have given up on Tsukishima's monjayaki."

The third Monja restaurant on Tsukishima is here! Located in a hidden alley, this famous shop is known for its original shrimp miso monja. They use plenty of shrimp miso in the dish, and the shrimp is really impressive! The cooking method is a secret, so only pre-cooking photos are allowed. The unique monja here has a rich and gentle flavor that you can't find anywhere else! If you love it, you must visit this place.

Located in a side street off Monja Street, this shop has friendly staff who will teach you how to cook monja in a way you've never seen before. I was amazed by their unique cooking method, exclaiming, "This is the real 'okoge'!" Their specialty, "Sweet Shrimp Monja," involves grilling shrimp heads and tails separately, allowing you to enjoy them like rice crackers. The entrance of the shop features a cute cat, adding to the cozy and welcoming atmosphere.

Visited with 6 middle-aged men around 5 pm on December 14, 2019. Parking available, no smoking, credit cards accepted. Located on a narrow street off Monja Street in Tsukishima. A great Monja restaurant worth visiting if you don't have a specific place in mind. Reservation only accepted at 5 pm when the restaurant opens. We waited outside until we were seated. The interior had 5 tables with a total of 20 seats. We ordered the signature Sweet Shrimp Monja, along with assorted mushrooms, Oyster Butter, and the famous Grilled Maitake. Everything was delicious, especially the Sweet Shrimp Monja. The service was attentive and the staff was efficient. We also enjoyed the atmosphere and the reasonable prices. Definitely a place to revisit in the future.

The president's group took me to a hidden gem in the back alley. The shrimp monjayaki was exquisite. The broth was rich, and they cooked it in an original way that made it even more delicious. It had a placebo effect that enhanced the flavor. By the way, filming the cooking process was prohibited! It was no exaggeration to say that it was a secret technique passed down through generations. So, the highlight was definitely the shrimp monjayaki, and my memory of anything else is a bit hazy.

This was my first visit to this restaurant. I tried the rumored sweet shrimp monjayaki, and it was delicious! Monjayaki is really interesting. I was surprised by how delicious the shrimp tasted. While I have been to other monjayaki restaurants a few times, I also liked this one.
