I made a reservation at 6:30 pm on a regular day and visited the restaurant. It was quiet for a while, but by 7 pm, the tables started to fill up. I enjoyed an Asahi beer and a mixed appetizer while reading the menu carefully. I chose the Taiwan preserved egg with creamy yolk and the seasonal dish of rapeseed blossoms and chicken. When the preserved egg arrived, I switched to a rock glass of aged Shaoxing wine. It was delicious with sugar, but I personally preferred the flavor of the preserved egg on its own. The rapeseed blossoms and chicken also paired nicely with the Shaoxing wine. For the main dishes, after much thought, I decided on the dried beef Achilles tendon and homemade salted egg simmered with Kyoto tofu (priced at 3300 yen) and the classic sweet and sour pork with pickled vegetables and minced meat fried rice. The classic dishes were delicious as always. The surprise of the day was the harmony of the Achilles tendon, tofu, and the only umami and sweetness in the homemade salted egg. They say it makes your skin smooth tomorrow, but before that, it was truly delicious. This is a dish I would love to eat again. I left the restaurant feeling very satisfied.

I visited for lunch. The seats were spacious, and there was a short wait as it was full when I arrived. I decided to try the mapo tofu and spicy fried noodles. The fried noodles were delicious, but personally, I think the mapo tofu was better. It was meaty and spicy just right. Very tasty.

I was torn between ordering the highly recommended mixed yakisoba with many reviews and the mapo tofu, but when I ordered the mapo tofu, the female staff kindly asked me, "It's quite spicy, are you okay with that?" It was indeed spicy, but unlike the Sichuan restaurants in Akasaka, it had a complex and delicious flavor with various types of spiciness, richness, and sweetness. The mapo tofu was really delicious! The other two customers ordered a course meal for two people and I could hear them saying, "Hmm, delicious!" I would like to try ordering the course meal for two people next time.

【Restaurant Name】Suiyun【Location】3 minutes walk from Odakyu Line / Kyodo Station【Overview】Suiyun, which has been selected as one of the top 100 Chinese restaurants in Tokyo on Tabelog. They offer course meals in the evening and authentic Chinese cuisine for lunch at a reasonable price.【Budget】Lunch 1000-1500 yen【Crowded】No crowding around 12:30 on weekdays【Menu】Lunch Set B: Mapo Tofu (with soup and rice)【Impression】I had a sudden craving for mapo tofu and decided to visit Suiyun, known for their specialty mapo tofu. While they offer high-end authentic Chinese courses in the evening, their lunch sets are affordable and satisfying. This time, I ordered the mapo tofu without hesitation. It arrived in about 10 minutes - the mapo tofu was red with chili oil, spicy and flavorful. The spiciness had a punch but was addictively delicious with umami. It went perfectly with the rice. The balance of the meat and tofu was excellent! Other reviews mentioned that all dishes are delicious, so I look forward to trying more next time. Thank you for the meal!【Summary】• Spicy with umami flavor!• Addictive mapo tofu!• Authentic Chinese cuisine!【SNS】I also share gourmet information on social media, so please follow me if you're interested.Instagram: 'naoya_522_'Tabelog: 'NAOYA_22'LINEPLACE: 'NAOYA_22'Rating at the time of posting: 3.67

I was planning to order just the chicken and leek noodles because they looked delicious, but I heard about the addition of green bamboo and became curious, so I ordered that as well. It was soft and tasty, similar to tender mushrooms. [Access] ◯ It is within walking distance from Kyodo Station. [Good points] Stir-fried green bamboo and ginkgo nuts.

A Chinese restaurant that survived the pandemic. While it may not receive much media attention, it is loved by locals and always has a steady stream of customers. I visited with my spouse after a long time and tried their spicy mapo tofu set meal. It was spicy, with just the right amount of flavor and heat. The minced meat was coated in starch, giving it a firm and tasty texture. It's worth noting that this restaurant does not allow children under elementary school age, so we hadn't visited in a while. However, considering the spicy dishes they offer, even if we were to bring a child, the options might be limited. Overall, it's an adult-oriented establishment with a mature clientele.

The restaurant is small with a nice atmosphere. The food is delicious and although there was a slight wait before the appetizers were served, it was definitely worth it. There seemed to be many repeat customers and I saw some guests chatting with the staff in a friendly manner. I would love to visit again if I have the chance.

Because it's lunchtime, I decided to go with a simple menu and ordered an appetizer. I was surprised by the dinner-like content and description of the appetizer, and was even more surprised after taking a bite. I started eating it thinking it would be like yakisoba for lunch, but it had a strong and delicious flavor without being too salty. I couldn't resist lifting the plate of yakisoba and licking up every last bit of sauce. It's irresistible, I have to come back for dinner.

Located in Setagaya-ku, Kyodo, is the Chinese restaurant Suiun-sui. I wanted to eat delicious mapo tofu, so I had it for lunch. Mapo tofu is definitely the best spicy tofu dish! The minced meat was chicken? This was also a wonderful hidden gem of a restaurant. Thank you for the meal. It was delicious.

This is a Sichuan cuisine restaurant located about a 4-minute walk from Kyodo Station. I visited for lunch. The interior is small with limited seating, and they are currently operating with even fewer seats. It has a casual atmosphere. I tried the following dishes:
- Mapo Tofu for 1,100 yen: It was quite spicy with a numbing sensation from the Sichuan pepper. The spicy flavor enhances the sweetness of the tofu, creating a delicious and addictive taste. It goes well with rice.
- Five-Ingredient Ankake Noodles (with Sichuan pepper flavor) for 1,100 yen: The thick sauce is filled with vegetables, eggs, meat, and seafood, making it a hearty dish. The noodles have a firm texture and the sauce coats them well. I visited at the opening time of 11:30 AM, and it quickly filled up. There were even people waiting outside, showing its popularity. Both dishes were delicious, but I preferred the Mapo Tofu over the ankake noodles. It's a good value for money neighborhood Chinese restaurant.

I visited the Chinese restaurant "Suiyun Rui" in the residential area of Kyodo. Since its establishment in 2007, this restaurant has been loved by local fans. The atmosphere created by the husband and wife who run the restaurant contributes to its cozy feel. The cuisine is authentic Sichuan cuisine with a touch of elegance. The chef honed his skills at the famous restaurant "Zhu Lu Shan Fang," and you can feel the influence in the dishes. The food is characterized by a moderate amount of oil, allowing the natural flavors of the ingredients to shine. The lineup of dishes includes: "Taiwanese century egg," reminiscent of crab miso and deliciously sticky. It is said to be eaten with a sprinkle of sugar, following the Taiwanese tradition. "Steamed chicken with spicy sauce," tender and moist with a tantalizing touch of chili oil. "Black vinegar spare ribs," with a gentle acidity and sweet seasoning. "Mapo tofu," generously seasoned with Sichuan peppercorns for a prominent spiciness but not overpowering. The presence of minced meat is a distinctive feature. The tofu is silky smooth. "Fried rice with pickled mustard greens and minced meat," moist and flavorful, with a noticeable presence of pickled mustard greens and minced meat.

I visited this place just a short walk from Kyodo Station. There was no wait before opening on weekdays. Classical music was playing inside the restaurant. I ordered the lunch special "Mapo Tofu" with half rice. It was served in about 10 minutes. The dish was spicy and slightly sweet, and the minced meat made it easy to enjoy with rice.

This hot and sour soup is delicious. I visited during the Golden Week on a weekday for lunch. I ordered the 1100 yen hot and sour soup noodles. The restaurant has about 10 seats, and there was a line of about 5 people outside, probably due to the long weekend. It seems like the restaurant is run by a family, as they took their time to serve rather than rushing. When the noodles arrived, I was surprised by how delicious the soup was. It's been a while since I had such tasty hot and sour soup. Many places either put too much vinegar or too much chili oil, but here, the balance of sour and spicy is amazing. The noodles were thin and they mixed well with the soup, making it even better. This would be perfect for the upcoming summer season. Thank you for the meal.

The shop is located straight ahead to the left after exiting the north exit. It is about a 5-minute walk from the station. Arriving around 12:30 during the consecutive holidays, I only had to wait outside for a few minutes before being seated as they were cleaning up. The shop has a small and cozy layout with only table seating, so they can only accommodate up to 6 groups at most. It seems they do not allow sharing tables, so all customers are seated individually, making it a maximum of 6 people. There are a total of 6 lunch menu options on holidays, including limited quantity hot pot, stir-fry, mapo tofu, fried rice, noodle soup, and yakisoba, offering a well-balanced selection. I mistakenly thought the "Gomoku Ankake Men" was yakisoba, but it turned out to be a noodle soup. However, they also offer yakisoba, so I ordered that instead. I started with a beer while waiting for the food to arrive. --Gomoku Ankake Yakisoba-- It comes with soup and red vinegar for seasoning. The color is dark, but the taste is mild and gentle. The yakisoba looks crispy at first glance, but it's not all that way. Some parts are crispy while about 60% is soft, allowing for a combination of two textures. The sauce has a nice sweetness, making it rich and flavorful. Adding red vinegar enhances the flavor, and I ended up drinking all the sauce in the end. The soup is quite light, but it has a herbal taste that deepens as you drink it. It's rare to find a place that showcases such high potential with Gomoku Ankake Yakisoba. Because of that, I want to try various other dishes as well.

I visited "Saiun Mizu," located in the famous Kyodo area near Tokyo University of Agriculture. It was selected as one of the top 100 Chinese restaurants in Tokyo in 2023 on Tabelog. Congratulations! The restaurant is just a 5-minute walk from Kyodo Station on the Odakyu Odawara Line. It is located on the first floor of the building "Daini Matsubara Mansion" facing the road leading from the station. The restaurant opened in February 2007. The interior is bright and simple. Here are the dishes I had today:
- Stir-fried homemade dried meat and greens: The crispy texture of the greens and the flavorful homemade dried meat are a perfect match.
- Black vinegar spareribs: Large, tender pieces of meat with a generous amount of ribs.
- Mapo tofu: A well-balanced spiciness with Sichuan pepper and spices in the mapo tofu that goes great with rice.
- Fried rice: The rice has the perfect firmness and the egg coating gives it a fluffy texture.
- Sakura granite: Enjoyed the spicy Sichuan cuisine. Thank you for the delicious meal.

About a 5-minute walk from Kyodo Station. A cozy family-owned restaurant with a warm atmosphere. The small and quiet interior is perfect for a weekday lunch. Chose the mapo tofu and was warned that it was "quite spicy." Took the advice and ordered it anyway. The spiciness kicks in after a few bites, with a distinct numbing sensation from the Sichuan pepper. Not extremely spicy, so it should be enjoyable for those who can handle some heat. The silky tofu is cut into small pieces, giving a gentle texture not found in firmer tofu. The rice and soup were also delicious. The service was lovely, making me want to come back again. I'm curious about their other lunch and dinner options. Would definitely visit again. Thank you for the meal!

An old Chinese restaurant in a temple that I have known since my days working in Tokyo. It was my first visit, and I was craving something spicy, so I ordered the mapo tofu. When I placed my order, the staff warned me that it would be a bit spicy, but I welcomed it. The dish turned out to be quite spicy, but the numbing effect of the Sichuan peppercorns added depth to the heat, making it delicious. Although the price was a bit high for mapo tofu, I think it was worth it.

Saiun Sui, a popular Chinese restaurant in Kyodo, has a cozy family-run vibe. We tried the Saiun course which included a variety of dishes like appetizers, shark fin and crab avocado soup, stir-fried lobster tail, homemade dried foods, mini abalone, steamed soup, and dessert. The overall Chinese cuisine had a gentle and delicious flavor, perfect for those who enjoy light yet flavorful dishes. The restaurant is small with 16 seats and is non-smoking. Reservations are accepted, and the nearest station is Kyodo on the Odakyu Line, just a 4-minute walk away. Operating hours are 11:30-13:30 and 18:00-21:00 (closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays). Prices range from 1000-1999 yen for lunch and 8000-9999 yen for dinner. No private rooms or parking available, but there are coin parking lots nearby. #SaiunSui #KyodoGourmet #ChineseCuisine #TokyoFood #Foodies #GourmetTravel #FoodBloggers #FoodiesConnect #FoodLovers #FoodieCommunity #FoodReport #FoodWriter #BClassGourmet #TokyoEats

Visited "Saiunsui," a Chinese restaurant that was newly selected as one of the top 100 restaurants from Kichijoji Station, just a 3-minute walk away. Arrived 10 minutes before opening on a weekday and there was no wait. Was able to enter as soon as they opened. Ordered the weekly lunch special, "Hui Guo Rou," for 1,100 yen. Comes with rice, soup, and pickles. It was served in about 15 minutes. The sauce for the Hui Guo Rou had a good balance of sweetness from Tianmianjiang and spiciness from Doubanjiang, and the crunchy cabbage and flavorful pork made it delicious. Enjoyed every bite until the end.

On March 28, 2023, I visited a cozy restaurant for lunch. I chose the Mapo Tofu dish priced at 1100 yen, which was delicious. The restaurant had a quiet atmosphere with 14 seats. The chef, Mr. Chiwaki Yukio, trained for 14 years under Mr. Toyohiro Yamamoto at "Chikurosanbo" in Kichijoji before opening his own restaurant. I opted for the Mapo Tofu from the weekly lunch menu, which came with rice, soup, and a side dish. The soup had a unique Japanese flavor with a comforting taste. The side dish of chicken was lightly seasoned and tasty. The Mapo Tofu had a good level of spiciness and was made with finely chopped pork instead of minced meat, which added richness to the dish. The staff warned me about the spiciness, but even as someone who is not good with spicy food, I found it enjoyable and not too overwhelming.
