The area around Kurosaki Station was quiet on a festival day with few shops open, but I decided to visit "Kukikatsu Ichigoya" which was still open. Although I didn't have a reservation, I was able to sit at the counter which had a few empty seats. The restaurant was fully booked for later reservations. The restaurant has 8 counter seats and 2 tables, with a second floor that can accommodate more people. I ordered the "Omakase Kushi Katsu" which consisted of 30 different skewers served one by one. The price per skewer decreased as I ate more. The menu also includes individual items such as eggplant, pumpkin, onion, lotus root for 110 yen, squid, pork loin, octopus, white fish for 140 yen, shrimp, scallop, smelt, broccoli for 190 yen, beef tendon, scallop, asparagus bacon wrap for 270 yen, and more. Other menu items include "Horse Sashimi" for 1,280 yen, "Whale Red Bacon" for 1,800 yen, "Hyuga Chicken Tataki" for 680 yen, "Chicken Skin Gyoza" for 480 yen, "Fried Squid Legs" for 580 yen, "Edamame" for 380 yen, "Chancha" for 380 yen, and "Grilled Cod Roe" for 480 yen. The dipping sauces were provided at the beginning: tonkatsu sauce, mayonnaise sauce, and vinegar soy sauce. There was also seaweed salt and shichimi pepper on the table. I ordered a medium beer for 480 yen which came in a frozen glass. I also ordered kimchi for 300 yen as a snack before the skewers arrived. The skewers were served in the order of "eggplant," "pork loin," "shrimp," and so on. The meal ended with "quail," "asparagus," and "snow crab" skewers, totaling 19 skewers. The skewers were crispy and light, with a fine bread crumb texture. Overall, the food was satisfying, and I also enjoyed the variety of drinks available. It was a pleasant dining experience.
