I went to Hamasan at Monja in Tsukishima! First of all, the grilled tuna was delicious! The tuna, generously coated in oil, was grilled on a hot plate, allowing just the right amount of oil to drip off, making it very tasty! And the monja! The mentaiko mochi monja was consistently delicious! As for the tomato basil, personally, it was...haha.

Monja = Hazama ★★★ I have been going to this restaurant since before my son was born, for about 35 years now! Despite trying various other places, I always end up coming back to Hazama! When I mentioned to my gluten-free son that we haven't had monja in a while, he immediately said, "I'll eat monja!" In our house, monja equals Hazama. I made a reservation and visited. We ordered almost the same menu every time: - Apricot juice soda mix - Tuna cheek butter grilled - Squid guts butter grilled - Mochi mentaiko monja soba - Ramune - Pickled ginger monja soba The prices had gone up, but it's worth it. It was a delicious and incredibly happy time. Thank you for the meal!

Today is a holiday, and a friend is going to deliver Taro's famous motsu-ni (simmered offal) from Kashiwa for lunch. I was looking forward to having motsu-ni for lunch, but then another friend suggested going to Tsukishima to eat monjayaki and have a lunch drink. So, I decided to save the motsu-ni for tomorrow and headed to Tsukishima. When I arrived after 1 pm, there were a lot of people on Monja Street. After walking around the street, I finally found a slightly less crowded shop on a side street and managed to get in. The shop was called Monja Hazama. We ordered Chanja (mixed seafood), Kibinago and shishamo (smelt fish) assortment, taro and mushroom foil bake, potato butter, seafood monjayaki with salmon butter topping, and mentaiko mochi cheese monjayaki. As someone born and raised in Tokyo, I am a novice when it comes to monjayaki. The staff instructed us to first stir-fry the ingredients without cutting them with a spatula to prevent the release of moisture. Then, we created a levee, poured in the soup, and mixed it once the ingredients had softened. While mixing, we were advised to cut it with the spatula for easy eating. Since I have hardly eaten monjayaki before, I found it challenging to remember the cooking method, but I decided to make a conscious effort to remember it for the future. The seafood monjayaki with salmon butter topping was a hit, and the long-time favorite mentaiko mochi cheese was as delicious as ever.

I revisited a restaurant in April 2022 with three friends for a regular indulgent lunch. We had beer, potato butter, pickles, Baby Star, mochi mentaiko, and hazama monja. There is always a long line at one shop on Tsukishima Monja Street, but we decided to skip it. For me, when it comes to Tsukishima Monja, I always love Hazama Monja.

I felt like eating monjayaki again, so I revisited this place. I've decided that this is the best spot for monja. Before the monjayaki, I had maguro steak, shishamo, and squid legs with butter. The shishamo is the real deal from Hokkaido. The monjayaki was the usual, with mentaiko and soba mochi inside. The ingredients are so good that it's delicious no matter who cooks it, but when my son cooks it, it's extra special. At 2 p.m., both the tatami and table seating were full. There are probably a lot of regular customers here. I think I'll keep coming here for a long time! Thank you for the meal.

I love this restaurant the most in Tsukishima for Monja. I always order an apricot sour or apricot soda while enjoying grilled tuna cheek, octopus, and sand lance on the hot plate. It's a must to also have mentaiko mochi soba monja! If there are three or more people, we also order curry monja and pickled ginger monja! Whenever I crave monja, I never hesitate to come here. It's my favorite restaurant that I've been visiting for over 30 years. Thank you for the delicious meal!

[Revisit] In April 2021, I felt like eating monjayaki, so I made a reservation for three friends at this place. There were many new shops open on Monja Street in Tsukishima. There were a lot of young couples as customers. The place has a nostalgic atmosphere tucked away in the backstreets. It's been a long time since I last visited. I wonder if they got new chairs or something. But the overall atmosphere hasn't changed at all. The young men next to us in the sunken kotatsu seemed to be having a good time. The staff, especially the girls, were lively and fun. We enjoyed the mentaiko monja, Baby Star monja, and Hazama monja. The taste was consistent. Delicious.

Around me, the latest trend this year is Monja! There is a Monja Street in Tsukishima, Tokyo♪ However, due to the pandemic, it's been difficult to go out, but I finally went with my family after a long time. Let's go! - 5 minutes walk from Tsukishima Station Exit 10 - Tabelog rating: 3.48 (as of 02/03/2020) - Budget: ¥5,000 per person - 16:10 entered the store Located in a side street off Monja Street, this restaurant was not very noticeable, and with the pandemic, there was only one group of customers in the store. It was nice given the current situation. - 16:20 ordered - Tuna steak: ¥1,100 - Hazama Monja: ¥1,600 - Mochi Mentaiko Monja: ¥1,800 - Tomato Basil Monja: ¥1,500 Various Monja dishes kept coming out one after another! The service was slow as they were short-staffed, but making Monja takes time, so it was not a problem. Although Monja dishes are similar everywhere, the ones here were surprisingly delicious! I was very satisfied with the amount of food I could eat♪ Thank you for the meal! We ended up staying until almost 8 pm due to ordering more dishes, but it was not crowded, and we were able to eat a lot leisurely. It was a happy dining experience!

The lively atmosphere, friendly and attentive staff made for a comfortable dining experience, and we enjoyed delicious Monjayaki! There were several families with children in the tatami seating area, and they were also well taken care of. We tried the "Hazama Special" Monjayaki, which had various ingredients and was very enjoyable. Since this was our second stop of the night, we were satisfied with just one type of Monjayaki, but they had a wide variety of Monjayaki options and other teppanyaki dishes that made us want to come back and try more. Can't wait to visit again!

I wanted to explore a Monja-yaki restaurant for the first time and the cheese nasi was very delicious. There were many famous people's signatures displayed inside the shop, so I enjoyed looking at them while waiting. Even though there was only one staff member, they kindly cooked at our table. I can't forget the happy face they made when we said "Gochisousama" (thank you for the meal). There were some items that were out of stock and couldn't be eaten, so I want to go back again.

This is a shop located down a side street in Monja Street. Inside, there are lots of autographs from famous people. They have retro tatami seating and table seating, but it's not very spacious. We started with a toast with drinks and chilled tomatoes. You cook the teppanyaki and monjayaki yourself. A friend who was with me is good at cooking, so they cooked it well. The taste was pretty average. The prices weren't too high, so I guess it's okay. It wasn't much different from making it at home, so I would be happy if they had more exciting menu options.

Tsukishima gourmet! So far, my favorite monja-yaki restaurant in Tsukishima. It seems like it was used in a movie or drama, as there were many young female customers. This time, I had it with mentaiko, ginger, and baby star toppings. The owner cooks it for you. The base flavor is not too strong and very delicious. Personally, I prefer it without the baby star topping. It's very filling, so in the second half, I added mayonnaise to change the flavor. The shirako was also fresh and delicious.

I visited a restaurant in Tsukishima for a meal with friends! It was recommended by a friend as a suitable place for monjayaki in Tsukishima. Today, I'm in the mood for "monjayaki"! The target restaurant for today is "Monja Hazama" located near Tsukishima Station. It's a bit tucked away in a small alley. The goal today is to eat delicious monjayaki in the downtown area! - The atmosphere is very Tsukishima-like and down-to-earth!! It's nice to eat around the iron plate. The friendly auntie staff skillfully cooks the monjayaki. - Drinks First, a set of shiro-hoppy! I'm happy that there is hoppy available in this area. Hoppy goes perfectly with monjayaki. - Food Shirako (cod milt) with ponzu sauce. A luxurious dish with plenty of shirako. It's chewy and melts in your mouth. This is great value for money. Next, we ordered the monjayaki we were aiming for! Toppings are mochi, mentaiko (spicy cod roe), and of course, baby star ramen. We also added pickled ginger for the best combination. It looks great on Instagram with the smoke rising. The smell from the iron plate is fragrant with the aroma of monjayaki. I'm already full, full of deliciousness. "Monja Hazama" near Tsukishima Station. It seems to be popular for after-work gatherings or dates. Many celebrities seem to have visited as there are many autographs displayed. Next time, I want to challenge the cheese mochi monjayaki.

I used this restaurant for a drinking party about 2-3 months ago! Instead of a course or all-you-can-drink, we were able to simply order what we wanted to eat and drink. They had a variety of menu items ranging from traditional dishes like "Hazama special monja," kimchi monja, and tomato basil monja to unique items specific to the restaurant. This time, I had the Hazama special monja, kimchi monja, okonomiyaki, and anko roll! The Hazama special monja mainly consisted of seafood such as shrimp, octopus, and scallops. Everything was very delicious!! My friend made the anko roll for me, and it was so well-made that I was able to enjoy it in a delicious state (lol). When you're struggling to choose a monja restaurant in Tsukishima, definitely give this place a try! (*´∀`)

I arrived smoothly at around 5 PM on a holiday and tried the recommended Hazama Special Monjayaki with added mochi. I also ordered butter-grilled oysters and a draft beer with sour. It had been a while since I had monjayaki, and it was incredibly delicious! It was packed with plenty of ingredients, including lots of vegetables, meat, and seafood, allowing me to enjoy different flavors and feel very satisfied. The addition of noodles was a nice touch. The okonomiyaki with mentaiko and mochi was a perfect match. My stomach was also fully satisfied. The combination of sauce and mayonnaise really whets the appetite. The butter-grilled oysters were a bit fishy, so it might be better to eat them at a seafood specialty store. It's a great place, being a location for one of my favorite dramas, and it's cheap and delicious! I definitely want to come back.

I went with friends. I don't really understand okonomiyaki (lol) but I think it's delicious. I wonder if it's not delicious no matter where you eat it... I was brought here by a friend. I heard it's a famous long-established store. The inside of the store is full of autographs of celebrities! I tried okonomiyaki with corned beef, which I had never eaten before. It was delicious... This place was not a store where they make it for you, so we did it ourselves, just casually. But it was still delicious. The tuna steak was also delicious!

Sometimes, I have an inexplicable craving for Monjayaki. My family has been going to the same place for decades, and our go-to choices are the mentaiko mochi monja, corned beef and cheese soba monja. We always order two iced teas to go with it, and the total comes to just under 5000 yen. I can't help but wonder if we could get something even tastier for that amount of money. Lately, only a few popular restaurants in Tsukishima have long lines, while others are empty. The Monjayaki boom seems to have passed. Since it was originally a dish for the common people, maybe it's time for a more affordable direction?

This might be the most delicious monjayaki I've ever had! The restaurant had many autographs from celebrities, which made me believe that the food would be really good. I always thought monjayaki was too salty, but this one had the perfect balance of flavors. The okonomiyaki was fluffy and delicious too. I will definitely go back again!

I visited this restaurant a month ago on a Sunday to make a direct reservation for our year-end party. We had reserved a table in the back left corner for four people. This table had extra space due to a protruding pillar, making it convenient for storing our belongings. In the winter, with bulky coats, this seat is recommended. I brought a large plastic bag to store our coats and avoid any smell. We ordered grilled oysters, scallops, and squid with butter. Unfortunately, they were out of large clams, so we had to skip that. The okonomiyaki was delicious as always, with a unique broth that sets it apart. We tried different combinations like mentaiko, mochi, and cheese, which were all tasty. I also recommend the corned beef and cheese, and the red bean paste rolls. However, it seems like the popularity of restaurants in Tsukishima is becoming more apparent, with some places being packed while others are empty. This restaurant wasn't crowded, but it was almost full the whole time we were there. I wonder if even Tsukishima okonomiyaki places will gradually be phased out.

On Friday at 6:50 PM, I visited a restaurant with a group of friends for a party! I don't remember exactly what we ate and drank, but it cost 4,100 yen per person. We ate well and drank a lot. It was a great meal. I was born and raised in Tokyo, but I didn't try monjayaki until I became a working adult. I'm glad I was able to break free from close-minded people who look down on monjayaki. LOL.
