Nippon Ramen Rin Kyoko here‼️ Located near Karasuma Station in Kyoto, right by the Nishiki Shopping Street, a popular spot for tourists‼️ This is a second brand from Japanese Ramen Noodle Lab Q in Hokkaido‼️ This was my first visit and I expected a long line due to its popularity, but surprisingly there were only a couple of groups waiting when it opened‼️ I got a seat right away at opening time, but the line quickly grew afterwards‼️ This time I tried the soy sauce wonton noodle dish with half-cooked egg and local chicken‼️ The chicken clear soup is made from Hinai-jidori chicken, combined with carefully selected soy sauce seasoning‼️ The homemade thin noodles made from Hokkaido wheat are deliciously coated with the Hinai-jidori chicken soy sauce clear soup‼️ The spring onions look premium and the bamboo shoots are crunchy and tasty‼️ The topping of half-cooked egg from Hinai-jidori chicken is wonderfully runny and delicious‼️ The char siu made from Hokkaido Rusk pork has just the right amount of fat and is delicious‼️ The char siu made from Kyoto pork is also fragrant and tasty‼️ The wonton with Hinai-jidori chicken filling has a perfectly delicious skin‼️ Another option is the pork wonton, which is juicy and also delicious‼️ This was a delicious bowl made with carefully selected high-quality ingredients‼️

On the second day of the 3-day weekend, I arrived around 12:30 and there was no line. I ordered soy sauce ramen and chashu rice bowl. The noodles were normal thickness and firmness. The soy sauce soup was delicious. The chashu had three different types (I think) and they were all tasty. The chashu in the rice bowl was slightly burnt and very flavorful. The staff recommended adding the soup to the rice bowl, and it was delicious both ways! The ramen was a bit pricey at 1200 yen per bowl, but it was worth it.

Nippon Ramen Rin Kyoto/Ukumaru - Tabelog 3.62 (September 16, 2023) This restaurant was opened in April 2022, produced by Hiroshi Hirao, the owner of Japanese Ramen Noodle Lab Q in Sapporo. The operation is run by JR East Japan, and there is also a branch in Tokyo opened in August 2020. The Kyoto branch is located on the second floor, sharing the building with Kairikiya in Kitashirakawa, so it is possible that Kairikiya is involved in the operation. The atmosphere in both the Tokyo and Kyoto branches is luxurious, with a slightly dim lighting that highlights the dishes on the table. The service provided by the female staff members was impressive, from the moment of entry to the moment of leaving, they were attentive and even made sure to distinguish and return the umbrellas placed in the umbrella stand by my wife and daughter. We tried the Nestle cold ramen (1,400 yen), and considering the atmosphere and service, the price seemed somewhat justified, although still a bit high. The extra rice (200 yen) was served with dried seaweed and rice crackers, and it was recommended to make ochazuke with the remaining soup, but the price seemed a bit steep for what it was. The vinegar soup had a delicious seafood flavor, but my wife pointed out that it was quite salty and drinking it all might not be good for health. Despite the refreshing taste of the cold dashi and vinegar, it made me think about being cautious with the salt content in ramen soup as I get older. Overall, it was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I researched and came to a ramen shop in Kyoto. The exterior of the shop looks high-end. I ordered through a touch panel and got a luxurious soy sauce ramen with wonton and chashu for 2000 yen. It was already full by 11 o'clock, but I was seated at the counter. The chashu was plentiful, and the soup was rich and delicate with a strong soy sauce flavor. The hot wonton was a nice touch. Each component was high quality and combined perfectly with the noodles. It was an extremely luxurious and delicious soy sauce ramen. Thank you for the meal!

Chilled Vinegar Citrus Soba - ¥1,400
I originally planned to go to Hanamaru Udon, but I was tempted and ended up trying this place instead, haha. First of all, it looks cool and beautiful ✨ It comes with plum, myoga, and white spring onion as condiments. The soup is refreshing and has a strong vinegar citrus flavor. The noodles are flat and smooth. I wish there was a bit more because I eat a lot, haha. With Kyoto's scorching heat these days, it felt like the most delicious thing I could have right now.

A ramen shop that opened behind Kyoto Daimaru. There was always a line, but when I went around 11:00, it seemed like I could get in, so I decided to try it out. They had shoyu, salt, and a seasonal limited cold vinegar citrus ramen. This time, I had the refreshing salt chashu ramen. My companion ordered the cold vinegar citrus ramen. The ingredients seemed to be of high quality, and the prices were quite high. The soup was clear and beautiful, and the salt soup was light. The noodles were firm and made with a focus on wheat. It felt like the pricing was geared towards tourists, making it seem like a place for special occasions rather than everyday dining.

As soon as I took the first sip, I felt like I was having the best chicken hot pot ever! I think they must have boiled the meat at the center after soaking kombu in water to make the broth, rather than focusing on bones and marrow. The noodles were incredibly chewy, stretching when pulled with chopsticks. They were thin and straight, clinging tightly together, completely coated in soup. Even the noodles alone exuded the essence of ramen. The attention to detail was evident in the use of princess onions, which added a subtle onion flavor to the soup without overpowering it. The chashu should be eaten early on! I made a mistake by saving some for later, as it became tough and overcooked. The location near Nishiki Market and the attentive service from what seemed like artisan staff, along with the thoughtfully selected ingredients, made the price of 1,200 yen seem reasonable. The restaurant was mostly full, but the lack of a long line made the experience stress-free. However, I was unsure about the inconsistency in offering paper aprons - it would be better if they were clear about whether they provide them or not, especially if service is part of their selling point. I probably won't go back for a second visit... On a side note, if you appreciate high-quality ingredients even at a higher price, the tsukemen at Kadoya Shokudo Honten is unbeatable. It's best enjoyed in the cooler months when the broth and noodles are perfectly balanced. It's priced at 1,400 yen and always has a long line, but it's truly the ultimate tsukemen.

This shop, which was once a hot topic as a Japanese Ramen Lab Q production, seemed to have calmed down in popularity, so I entered directly!
Beautiful presentation ☺️
First, the soup has a rich aroma of raw soy sauce, a refreshing chicken-based broth, and a thick and beautiful chicken oil combined, making it delicious! You can just gulp it down! The noodles cling to the edges and have a supple and pleasant texture to slurp! Delicious! There are 3 types of chashu, with pork belly in the front, loin in the back, and chicken at the bottom, all carefully prepared and delicious. The menma is soft but has a core to it! The green onions are nice! Thank you for the meal!

I had a work trip in Kyoto for about 3 weeks, and being in Shijo-Karasuma got me excited for the gourmet experience. I had been checking out this restaurant on Tabelog for a while, so I decided to go. Despite being a new establishment, it fits in well with the traditional Kyoto atmosphere with its sophisticated exterior. While I love old, run-down ramen shops, I also appreciate these stylish places.
I ordered the Shoyu Wantan Men and Sansho Soboro Don. The dishes arrived in just a few minutes. The shoyu broth had a beautiful, transparent color with golden chicken oil floating on top, creating an artistic presentation. The first sip of the soup was a burst of fragrance and richness from the soy sauce and fat, almost overwhelming in the best way possible. The soup had a sharpness but also a depth that made it exceptional. The noodles were low hydration with a rich wheat aroma, perfectly complementing the soup.
There were two types of wantan in the dish, and they were nothing like the typical wantan men you might expect, in a good way. The filling inside the wantan skin was incredibly flavorful. The chashu consisted of chicken chashu, slow-cooked pork belly, and charcoal-grilled chashu, along with scallions, menma, and nori. The attention to detail in the presentation, including the placement of the slow-cooked chashu to prevent it from soaking in the soup, showcased the restaurant's dedication to quality.
The Sansho Soboro Don had a delicious flavor with a strong umami taste from the broth and chicken. However, the ramen was the star of the meal, with a tender texture and exceptional taste. Overall, I have eaten over 4000 bowls of ramen, and I believe this restaurant could easily make it into my top 10. The only downside was the slightly high prices, even though it is located right in the heart of Shijo-Karasuma. Despite this, I deducted a bit from my rating. Thank you for the meal.

On this day, I went to a ramen shop in Kyoto with my mother before visiting my hometown. We arrived 15 minutes before opening time and there were already 7 people in line. I bought a ticket for their refreshing cold vinegar citrus soba (¥1400) from the ticket machine. The table had a lot of information about the ingredients used in the ramen, almost like a nutritional analysis. The presentation was impressive and the dish looked amazing. The noodles were smooth, the cold soup had a perfect balance of richness, and the aroma was delightful. The advice to move the dish when the sourness of the citrus becomes stronger was helpful and accurate. Overall, it was a perfect and delicious ramen experience.

I wandered around Kyoto and found a ramen shop for lunch. Since it was my first time there, I asked the staff for a recommendation and decided on the soy sauce wonton noodles. The ingredients were carefully selected and prepared. The soup was light, the noodles were thin, the wontons had a rich flavor, and the chashu was tender. The restaurant had an elegant atmosphere, but the prices were a bit high. Thank you for the meal.

Every year, summer is getting hotter little by little. This place tends to lose appetite, so I chose this "Chilled Vinegar Citrus Soba" for 1400 yen. The staff's service is pleasant, and it's rare for them to explain the ramen when they bring it. The taste is also perfect!

Visited in July 2023 ◎ At the time of posting, the restaurant had a rating of 3.61 on Tabelog (194 reviews) ■ [Summer Limited Edition] Cold vinegar citrus soba for 1,400 yen (tax included) I had been curious about the [Summer Limited Edition] menu 'Cold vinegar citrus soba' every time I passed by the restaurant. When I heard from a friend that this limited edition menu is only available until the end of August, I decided to visit right away. I bought a meal ticket at the ticket machine and sat at the counter near the entrance. The 'Cold vinegar citrus soba' served in a cool glass bowl was covered in so much vinegar citrus that you couldn't see the noodles, and in the center, there was chashu that looked like flower petals. When I tried the soup, it had a stronger flavor of dried fish than I expected, and it was delicious. The flat noodles had a good texture and firmness, making them tasty. The plum and bonito for flavor variation, as well as the myoga and green onions, each did their job well, so I recommend them. It's also nice to enjoy the refreshing acidity by squeezing out the juice of the vinegar citrus with chopsticks, but I personally prefer it to be more subtle. Although it was a bit pricey, I was satisfied with the delicious taste. Thank you for the meal.

Ramen restaurant produced by Q Produce. I have been to Q in Sapporo several times, and this place has a similar atmosphere where you can easily enjoy a meal without waiting in line. When I say "easy," I mean you don't have to wait in line. The cost performance is not as good as Q, and I think it would be more convenient to visit if the prices were a little lower, but the taste is delicious. The egg topping is also delicious.

Every time I passed by, I was curious about the summer limited ramen! [Chilled Sudachi Soba] 1400 yen. I bought a ticket from the vending machine and placed my order, then I heard the sound of ice being sprinkled from the kitchen. Maybe they are chilling the noodles well? Each chef moves with precision like a craftsman, which is exciting to watch. The dish arrives! Wow, it looks beautiful and impressive! In the center of the open Sudachi, there is a rose-shaped slice of chashu! It's so beautiful. It's a shame to break it, but I'll eat it. The noodles are smooth and chewy, and the soup is refreshing yet flavorful. The soup has a bit of oil in it, so it's not too light and has a satisfying taste. The condiments are umeboshi katsuobushi, myoga, and white negi. All three go perfectly with the noodles and soup. Adding them changes the flavor, but it still remains refreshing. Under the noodles, there are menma and chicken chashu, both deliciously chewy. It feels like I'm eating a traditional Japanese dish. The soup is so delicious that I drank it all up! They will be serving it at least until the end of August. I definitely want to have it again before summer ends.

I visited on a Saturday afternoon and there was no line, so I was able to enter right away. It was my first visit, and I purchased the limited-time tsukemen at the ticket machine. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was nice, and there were a few couples on a date. The staff were polite, and the tsukemen itself was delicious. Next time, I will try the regular ramen as well.

Today, I went to a stylish ramen restaurant in Shijo before heading to the beauty salon. The restaurant had a sophisticated atmosphere, originating from Sapporo. I ordered soy sauce ramen, which was served beautifully with various toppings like different cuts of chashu, bamboo shoots, green onions, and seaweed. The chashu was incredibly flavorful, and the green onions added a refreshing touch. The thin noodles had a strong wheat flavor and a smooth texture. The soup was a combination of rich chicken oil and a gentle soy sauce taste. Although the price was on the higher side, the quality of the ramen justified it. It seems like ramen restaurants are leaning towards a more upscale direction. Now, I have some time left to do a little shopping before heading to the beauty salon.

Today's lunch is my 7th visit to "Nippon Ramen Rin KYOTO" in Shijo Karasuma. I came here today because I heard that tsukemen (dipping noodles) was now available. I purchased the "Seasonal Limited Tsukemen" from the ticket machine. The noodles are whole wheat medium straight noodles with a soft texture. The broth is a soy sauce base with chicken and seafood flavors. For toppings, there are separate dishes with chashu (roast pork), Okinawan salt (nuchimasu), bonito plum, mountain wasabi, and sudachi (a type of citrus fruit). The chashu consists of thigh, belly, and loin cuts. I first tried dipping the noodles in just the salt before adding the toppings to the dipping broth for a flavor change. It was delicious.

The lunch option is slightly expensive but very excellent, with no option for extra noodles, yet it surpasses expectations in terms of quality. The attention to detail in the ingredients is evident, and both the noodles and the chashu are satisfying. However, the soup may feel a bit weak compared to other ramen in the area. I wish the broth was more prominent. It lacks the sharpness of the soy sauce. If they could create more chaos, it could become a masterpiece.
