The cakes here are delicious. We always order a birthday cake for our children here every year. The cakes, tarts, mousses, chocolates, puddings, etc., with the name "Équilibre" are always so delicious that I get excited just looking at them in the showcase.

There is a shop along Shirakawa Street in Sakyo Ward, Kyoto! You might be able to park one car there... This time, I left it to my partner to wait in the car and make the purchase! Eclair Caramel for 380 yen, Tart Fruit under the box for 650 yen, Cream Puff on the upper right of the box for 400 yen, and I don't know the name of the product on the upper left of the box (sweat). Whether it's Paris, crispy, or moist, the dough is fragrant and delicious! Not too sweet, with an elegant taste, and very cost-effective! The strawberries were juicy and delicious! I want to try the Équilibre, which is the same as the shop name, next time!

Located on the east side of Kyoto city, along Shirakawa Street, is a cake shop. I visited in the evening of New Year's Eve by city bus. They have delicious looking cakes and baked goods on display. Outside the shop, there are two 4-person tables and one 2-person bench. Since it was cold on New Year's Eve, eating outside was not an option. This time, I bought two whole pound cakes. - Cranberry Chocolate Cake 1800 yen (tax included): The cake has a nice aroma and delicious texture. It is filled with plenty of cranberries and chocolate chips. The cranberries provide a nice crunchy texture. - Chocolate Fig Cake 1800 yen: My family tried this one. They liked the lightness of the figs.

I took the Kyoto City Bus (204) to come to this area (Kitashirakawa Bettocho) for the first time in a while for some errands. Since Kyoto University of Art is nearby, there were quite a few people even after getting off the bus. I couldn't bring back any fresh sweets, so I got some bread instead. Pain au Chocolat for 300 yen. I failed at reheating it... I burned it pretty well... But it was still delicious. The outer layer was crispy, and the inside was soft. The slightly melted chocolate was also tasty.

A well-known cake shop in Sakyo-ku, Kyoto. This was my second visit. The indoor seating area was closed, but they had tables outside for eating. It was a nice day, so it felt like sitting in an open cafe. I ordered the "Rich and Creamy Cheese Crafty" cake and a hot coffee. If you sit down, they will bring your order to your table. The cake had a nice balance of fruit flavors like berries with a subtle sweetness and acidity. The coffee was strong and had a bold taste that complemented the cake well. Both were delicious.

The baked goods and chocolates also look delicious! Inside the shop's showcase, there are colorful cakes! After much deliberation, I decided to take out the following three items: - Rich and creamy cheese crafty (540 yen): A light yet rich cheese cake with a flavorful and rich taste. The firm tart crust is crispy and fragrant, while the acidity of the berries reduces the heaviness. A favorite taste! - Creme caramel (380 yen): A sticky, subtly sweet pudding with a perfect softness that is not too firm or too soft. The caramel's bitterness is elegantly balanced. A slightly grown-up pudding. - Mille-feuille (560 yen): A refreshing cream on top of a rich custard, with a crispy mille-feuille pastry that is fragrant and delicious. The acidity and sweetness of the strawberries create a refreshing taste. Each item is very stylish and beautifully finished! And yet, the fact that they are reasonably priced is a plus! They are all elegantly finished with a not overly sweet, grown-up touch. I'm curious to try other items on the menu!

I had a meal, went to a cafe, and bought a cake to take home, even though it's not really a special occasion. It was my first visit since they moved. I ordered the Ecubalance (560 yen), strawberry shortcake (500 yen), creme brulee (380 yen), and patty choco (540 yen). The Ecubalance with the cafe's name was good, but the simple strawberry shortcake with a delicious sponge and cream stood out. The atmosphere of the cafe was very exciting and felt like a real cake shop. I love it!

Patisserie Equilibre is a popular pastry shop located a 12-15 minute walk from Chayama Station. It is situated in front of Kyoto University of Arts and is surrounded by other appealing eateries. The shop is highly rated for its attentive service and cheerful atmosphere. I purchased the popular Millefeuille and Equilibre. The Equilibre, served in a ceramic-like dish that bears the shop's name, was filled with rich and sweet chocolate cream, with a crunchy almond providing a nice texture contrast. The Millefeuille, with a crispy pastry surrounding it, had a more pronounced pastry texture than usual and was delicious. I recommend visiting this shop. Thank you for the meal!

This is a popular patisserie on Shirakawa Street. The Double Fromage (¥540) is a two-layer cheesecake made with baked cheese and rare cheese. The baked cheese layer has a slightly firm texture and a mellow sweetness. The rare cheese layer is fluffy and has a refreshing acidity. It was a well-balanced cake and delicious! Yuzu Blanc is visually cute with plenty of yuzu pieces inside. You can taste the yuzu flavor well, it's not too sweet, and it's refreshing to eat. Double Fromage has two layers so you won't get tired of it. The combination of cheesecake and berries is absolutely delicious! After reading reviews later, I'm curious about the chocolate cake, so I want to go back again.

Today, I reluctantly tried some baked sweets after being disappointed by a croissant. I had the Galette Bretonne for 240 yen, which I found slightly small in size. If it were 20 yen cheaper, I would consider coming back just for this. I really enjoyed the taste. I also tried the Uf Praline for 240 yen, which I rated as average. Lastly, I had the Maple Cookies for 600 yen, which I found to be my favorite. The texture was simple and rustic, almost like homemade but with a unique touch. The pack contained around 15 cookies of 3.5-3.8 cm in size, making it a good deal. It's convenient for casual gifts. Overall, the baked sweets were to my liking, so I will definitely stop by again when I'm in the area.

Eight years ago, the store opened nearby and later relocated to its current location. Despite being close to my parents' house, it was my first visit. The reviews were good, so my expectations were high. The specialty, "Équilibre" for 560 yen, had a smooth chocolate cream and chocolate sponge with a crunchy texture from nuts. It was satisfying for chocolate lovers, but lacked a special touch. The "Éclair Caramel" for 380 yen had a crispy choux pastry and a bitter caramel cream, but the caramel flavor could have been more impactful. The "Kouign-Amann" for 270 yen was more like a different kind of bread than a traditional Kouign-Amann. The center was underbaked, with a heavy doughy lump remaining. It lacked the buttery juiciness and layers expected. Overall, it could have been delicious if properly baked. Additional comments on the baked goods will be provided in a future update.

Hiei in the northeast part of Kyoto City, this dessert shop was originally established in 2003 on Goen Street but relocated to its current location in 2012. Among the many temple-related street names along Shirakawa Street, Kitashirakawa stands out as a "student town" with a relaxing atmosphere. I visited the shop with a friend and ordered four items: Tropicale Blanc (¥540), Mille-feuille (¥560), Équilibre (¥560), and Puydamour (¥500). The cream used in these desserts is a blend of three different types, carefully managed for a soft and smooth texture. The balance of fruity acidity in the desserts, along with the rich cocoa powder in Équilibre, creates a refreshing and delightful aftertaste.

The shop is located near S-san's house and I've passed by it many times. It always catches my eye with its busy atmosphere, especially with many birthday cake orders for children. The staff are friendly and efficient. The Shoe Cream is crispy and just the way I like it.

I enjoyed a cake at the table outside the shop. It was a classic chocolate cake with a moist and rich texture. Inside the caramelized custard, there was a pear compote. The cake, called Équilibre, has a perfect balance of almond texture and rich chocolate. It was delicious!

I purchased three cakes: Équilibre, Rich Cheese Crafty, and Lime Chocolat. - Équilibre, the shop's signature cake, balances the texture of almonds with rich chocolate perfectly. This shop is known for its delicious chocolate cakes. - Rich Cheese Crafty is a traditional French pastry with custard dough and fruits. The pastry chef, Mr. Yamagishi, used to be a chef of French cuisine. The cheese flavor complements the fruits well. - Lime Chocolat has a sponge base with feuillantine, milk chocolate sponge, and lime mousse layered on top. It is light, tangy, and refreshing. I enjoyed these cakes with coffee and was completely satisfied. I highly recommend this shop.
