This time, I visited "Daitoen Honten" located about a 2-minute walk from Gion Station. It is a selected restaurant for the Best 100 Yakiniku Restaurants in the West for 2019-2021. Nearby, there is the Kushida Shrine. This is the first time I've seen a 4-story building dedicated entirely to a yakiniku restaurant, haha. The interior of the restaurant has a modern atmosphere, with many plates signed by famous people such as Ichiro and the comedy duo Hakata Hanamaru-Daikichi displayed. I visited without a reservation around 1 pm on a holiday and was told to wait for about 30 minutes before being seated in a private room on the 2nd floor. The last order is until 3 pm. One great thing about this restaurant is that you can turn any meat you like into a set meal. The lunch menu is also very reasonable, but for those who want to try specific meats, it's perfect! This time, I chose the Crimis Slice for 1320 yen and added a set meal for 330 yen, totaling 1650 yen. Soon after, a salad, namul (Korean seasoned vegetables), and salted squid arrived. It was my first time having salted squid at a yakiniku restaurant. Then, the rice, soup, and meat arrived in about five minutes. Everything was ready! Let's dig in. Crimis is a cut from the shoulder to the upper part of the front leg of a cow. It has a moderate amount of marbling. It is rich in protein and has a strong umami flavor. I enjoyed it rare. It was slightly firm with a good chew. The more you chew, the more the meat's umami flavor comes out. Rich! But with little fat, so it's refreshing! This meat goes well with a light sauce. The rice at this restaurant is cooked just right, not too firm or too soft. The rice at a yakiniku restaurant is important, isn't it? I remembered my grandma saying, "Always buy delicious rice. No matter how delicious the side dishes are, if the rice isn't good, it ruins everything." The salted squid and namul were nice palate cleansers. The soup with plenty of wakame seaweed was also good. In conclusion, I enjoyed the taste of a long-established restaurant at a reasonable price. Thank you for the meal.

I love the appearance of this restaurant. At first glance, you can't tell what kind of shop it is. The heavy atmosphere makes it hard to know what kind of shop it is until you enter. Such reliable shops in large buildings are truly valuable nowadays. The meat has a light but flavorful taste, completely different from the beef I've been feeling lately, and I loved it! The tripe sashimi is not the usual gray color, but pure white! It's beautiful, thin, and easy to eat, and you should definitely order one plate per person. The pot kalbi, creami, loin, hormone, yukkejang soup, kimchi, everything was very satisfying! I'm not sure if you're supposed to eat it with one of the two sauces on the ends, but I couldn't really tell which one was which... but that doesn't matter because the meat is delicious, and as long as you have beer as a side, everything is okay!

The restaurant is located a 5-minute walk from Gion Station along the Kokutai Road, with a large sign that makes it easy to spot. The interior of the restaurant is spacious and has a lively atmosphere. On this day, I tried the "Aged Tongue Salt," "Kaku Harami," and "Cold Noodles." The Aged Tongue Salt had a slightly less chewy texture than expected, while the Kaku Harami was juicy and flavorful. The Cold Noodles had a strong chewy texture and served as a satisfying ending to the meal. I would love to visit again if given the chance. Thank you for the delicious meal.

It has been several months since I last visited Ohtoen for yakiniku. The ordering process was quick and the food was brought to us promptly, which was very helpful. I went to Daitoen based on a friend's recommendation for a yakiniku restaurant. The interior of the restaurant is decorated with many autographs of famous people, giving it a luxurious feel. My friend and I ordered 6 types of meat, chijimi, rice, kimchi, salad, ice cream, and we ate quite a lot, but it only cost us around 13,000 yen. It was great value for money. The meat was also delicious. The thick-cut tongue with salt, green onion tongue with salt were tender and melted in my mouth. The kalbi got a bit greasy towards the end, but overall, everything was delicious.

It's a very famous restaurant so reservations are hard to come by, but we managed to get a late counter reservation. Reservations can only be made by phone (which can be difficult). We had the course meal available for same-day reservations and all the meats were delicious, especially the beef tongue, fillet, and pot kalbi! There are also grilled vegetables in the pot! The course meal was a good deal and we left feeling full after enjoying unique dishes like cold beef tongue shabu-shabu.

Moved by the fillet meat!!! There are many famous yakiniku restaurants in Hakata, but this one is a sure bet. I had the most delicious fillet meat in a long time. There were only two pieces, but I feel like I got my money's worth. And true to its reputation as a famous restaurant, everything from the rice, soup, and salad was delicious without cutting corners! Thank you for the meal! We waited a little for lunch, but it was worth the wait.

The almond jelly at the end was delicious. - Sweet potato bottle keep soda mix set, which was convenient. Drinking from noon is nice. [Impressions] It's nice to drink from a bottle in the afternoon. There are quite a few seats, but seems like you have to make a reservation. Maybe there's a chance even without a reservation for lunch. [Usage Scenario] For a celebration or day drinking. After making a reservation for after 11:30 and arriving around 11:40, I was seated at a counter seat in the back of the restaurant, which was about 80% full. I ordered the original yakiniku set with sirloin, which started in about 5 minutes. The salad was average, the namul was okay, and the salted fish was slightly fishy. The quality of the meat was good, and the best sauce was on the left. The rice was average, and the soup was tasty. I paid 1740 yen with a card and headed towards Hakata Station (maybe getting a bento would have been a better choice?).

I visited the main branch of Daitoen in Hakata Gion, Fukuoka. Last time I couldn't get in without a reservation at this top-ranked yakiniku restaurant, so this time I made a reservation the day before. I ordered the limited quantity "top sirloin set" for only 1200 yen. The quality of the meat is amazing! The tenderness, the refined fat, the balance - just the meat alone for 1200 yen is a great deal! It's really delicious!

The night before, I had a strong craving for yakiniku, so I decided to go without a reservation the next day. It was midday on a weekday, but the place was fully booked. Everyone was already grilling away. I was prepared for this and gladly accepted the wait time of about an hour, so I went for a stroll around the nearby Kushida Shrine. When I returned to the restaurant and relaxed, I was pleasantly surprised to be seated earlier than expected. Lucky me! I ordered the Wagyu kalbi set meal for 1,350 yen. Wow, the lunch deal was amazing. The meat had a good balance of quantity and marbling. I've been leaning towards leaner meats lately, but this kalbi had just the right amount of fat that wasn't overwhelming. The sauce here is light, but it makes the rice go down so easily. As expected in Fukuoka, a small side dish like salted squid was included. And as soon as I started grilling the meat, I realized the plate was empty in no time! Wait, where did it go? Did I eat it all without realizing it? I must have been so focused on grilling and eating due to my intense craving for yakiniku. It was so delicious. It's no wonder it's popular. The fact that you can add more meat at a reasonable price is also a plus. Overall, it was a fantastic meal. I was lucky to get in this time, but it seems like reservations are a must even on weekdays.

I went to the highly regarded Daito-en for lunch. They are famous for serving carefully selected Kyushu black wagyu beef. I was happy to have the opportunity to go since I didn't have a chance without my mother-in-law's invitation. It was a weekday but the restaurant was almost full. It was a good decision to make a reservation beforehand. The order was Daito-en set meal 2,500 yen (2,750 yen) x 2. Looking at the photos, I was worried if I could eat all of it, but it turned out to be unnecessary worry. <Contents> Aged tongue salt / jaw tongue salt / loin / kalbi / tongue tip / upper hormone / vegetable rice / soup / small plates / salad / pickles / dessert First, small plates, salad, and pickles were served. It was nice to have plenty of vegetables. After a while, a plate of meat was served. As I started eating the meat, rice and seaweed soup were brought to the table. First, aged tongue salt & jaw tongue salt! The umami was concentrated and it was amazing. I dipped it in lemon sauce, but it was delicious even without it. The loin, kalbi, and tongue tip were also exquisite! The tongue tip... the front part of the arm (shoulder), also known as tougarashi *a rare part that can only be taken from 2kg of a single cow. It was tender, and good quality meat is tender with a good balance of flavor and fat. I also enjoyed two types of sauce. The amount of rice was slightly more than usual, but it was so delicious with the meat and pickles that I finished it all. You can choose almond jelly or sorbet for dessert. I chose sorbet (mango). It was refreshing after eating the meat. It was really delicious. Having a 2,500 yen lunch on a weekday may seem luxurious, but it's nice to do it once in a while. This is a restaurant where you will definitely not regret going.

Located 5 minutes on foot from Gion Station, Exit 3 on the subway Airport Line, and 2-3 minutes on foot from Kushida-jinja-mae Station, Exit 3 on the subway Nanakuma Line. The restaurant has a spacious, clean, and upscale atmosphere. Smoking is allowed only in the designated outdoor area. Start with a toast with a highball (small glass, strong carbonation). The recommended course is the Yakiniku Course, which is reasonably priced at 3,800 yen for the day, the Takumi Course for 5,400 yen, or the Special Course for 8,000 yen. The kimchi is flavorful, and the Special Tan Shio (salted beef tongue) is thick, tender, and juicy. The alcohol selection is reasonably priced, with the Nigatou bottle and carbonated cocktails. The Kalbi and loin were both excellent, but the Ichibo or Misuji were undoubtedly the best. It seems like the nights in Nakasu are long... Part 1.

I attended a company drinking party with colleagues, which was somewhat divided due to COVID, but it was inevitable, haha. We decided to order the Chef's Course to avoid the hassle of choosing from the a la carte menu, and once the all-you-can-drink started, it was a great feast after a long time. The taste was consistently delicious as always. Although there were partitions in the restaurant except for the private rooms, everyone was having a good time, which added to the enjoyable atmosphere. If you want to fully savor the meat, it's better to have a private room, but they are quite hard to reserve. The finale with the cold noodles was the best way to end the meal.

In Hakata, there was a yakiniku restaurant undergoing exterior renovations, but the interior was quite luxurious. The entrance was spacious and had a high-end feel. Upon entering, a staff member greeted me warmly, informing me that they were fully booked until 1:30 pm. I made a reservation for that time and passed the time at a nearby cafe, which happened to be Fukuoka's oldest coffee shop. Upon returning, I was welcomed back warmly and shown to my seat. The interior was elegant with high ceilings. I was surprised by the reasonable prices on the menu. I opted for the Aged Red Tongue Set for ¥990, which was even more luxurious than the menu photo. It came with soup, salad, and side dishes, all of which were delicious. The meat was so flavorful and cooked perfectly. The atmosphere was family-friendly, and there were couples dining as well. There were counter seats and a second-floor seating area. It's a warm and welcoming place even for solo diners. I also noticed a statue of Hotei next to the cash register, which intrigued me. The staff allowed me to take a photo and mentioned that it brings good luck. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience with great service and delicious food. I would definitely visit this restaurant again.

Since the extension of the Nanakuma Line and the opening of Kushida-jinja-mae Station, this was my first visit! Last week, I couldn't get a reservation, so I'm finally here! I went to Daitoen, a yakiniku restaurant in Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City. I entered the restaurant right at opening time, and even though I didn't have a reservation, they said it would be okay to wait for about 40 minutes. I ordered the Daitoen set meal (2,640 yen) which I could pay for using PayPay. The set meal arrived first, followed by the meat about 5 minutes later. The meat, made with Kyushu Wagyu, had a beautiful marbling. I tried not to overcook it. The meat selection included aged tongue salt, jaw tongue salt, loin, kalbi, tongue tip, and upper hormone, which was quite luxurious. The meat was excellent, but the sauces like soy sauce, lemon, and miso were a bit overshadowed by the meat. Overall, the set meal was just average. For dessert, I chose almond jelly with wolfberry on top, which was satisfying. The restaurant offers high-quality meat, but the atmosphere and service are more like a casual yakiniku place. There's no need for a dress code, so you can feel free to drop in. However, reservations are necessary. They also have business lunch options for under 1,000 yen, making it a casual dining spot.

They opened at 11:30 and we arrived at 11:00 on a Friday, with only one person in line ahead of us. The restaurant is located near Kushida Shrine and Mannenji Temple in Hakata. We had two bottles of Asahi beer and enjoyed the grilled beef ribs set meal for 1200 yen, which had a generous portion of tasty meat. The Yukkejang set meal for 1200 yen was also delicious, with authentic Korean flavors. We also ordered an additional serving of beef ribs for 1000 yen, which was a great deal for the quality. Overall, it was a great experience and we would definitely visit this restaurant again if we have the chance.
