I used the eat-in service on a regular day. I was worried because the reviews seemed detailed, but I was pleasantly surprised by the friendly service. The second-floor eat-in space had foreign language radio playing, creating a relaxed atmosphere. I ordered a cake on the first floor, then moved to the second floor to choose a drink. It was a bit inconvenient to pay separately for the drink, so it would be better if this could be improved. I selected the brand "Petit France" for my tea. I could choose between a cup or a pot, and I regret not choosing the pot when it was brought to me – the tea had a gentle aroma. The cake itself had a rich cream sweetness that was balanced with the fruits, but personally, I felt it could use a bit more originality. The cake on the right in the photo is the seasonal recommended muscat grape crafty.

I chose a cake on the first floor and a drink on the second floor. The staff were not very friendly, but I thought the cake itself was delicious. It's a bit pricey since it's one cake per order. The seating was comfortable and relaxing.

I was surprised by how delicious all the cakes were! The prices are not that high, but the taste is so satisfying!! I bought two seasonal cakes and the classic chocolate cake. The cherry cheesecake was the best by far, but the other two were also incredibly delicious. I definitely want to go back to this place!! The atmosphere inside the store was like a cozy cafe in a renovated old house, which was charming and lovely!

I visited a pastry shop to buy cakes for tomorrow and for tonight's tea time. The first shop I wanted to go to had a broken machine and couldn't sell fresh cakes. My husband didn't want to go to another shop, but I insisted and we ended up going to a nearby pastry shop that turned out to be a great find. The shop was small and only allowed one group at a time, and there were already two groups inside when we arrived. We quickly became the third group, with more people lining up behind us. It was a popular place. I bought two cakes, "Minion" and "Tohyama," for takeout. I didn't get a bag for the cakes, so I had to carry them out in the open. Later, after dinner when my eldest child was asleep, I enjoyed the cakes with freshly brewed hot coffee in my hotel room. I shared one of the cakes with my husband, who usually only eats snacks. The "Minion" cake had a delicate appearance and a unique texture that brought comfort. The "Tohyama" cake was like a story of cherry blossoms blooming, offering a blend of Western and Japanese flavors. Overall, it was worth going against my husband's wishes to try these amazing cakes. They provided a moment of joy and a glimpse of spring that I truly appreciated. The cakes allowed me to escape into a world of imagination and experience a small moment of happiness in my daily life.

I finally visited the cafe I was curious about! Everything looked so delicious that I couldn't choose just one, so I ended up getting two. The cafe was on the second floor, where you pay for the cakes at the counter and then pay for your drinks at your table. They had a wide variety of teas, and as someone who loves apples, I tried the apple tart (I forgot the exact name, sorry) and the yuzu (Japanese citrus) chiffon cake. The combination of red wine and spiced apples was just amazing. They also had other cakes like chocolate ones that caught my eye. I will definitely go back again! Thank you for the delicious meal ❤️

I had a Miroir Cassis and a hot coffee at "Petit Japonais" in Karasuma Shijo, Kyoto. The cake had a perfect balance of sweetness and the flavors of cassis and berries were refreshing and delicious! The coffee beans were Blue Lake, with a mild bitterness that didn't overpower the cake's taste, so I enjoyed it black for a change. I look forward to trying other cakes next time!

The shop is very small but often has long lines, so I decided to stop by. I bought the Mignon and Miroir Cassis. Both were even more delicious than expected! The Mignon had cream on top of a tart, and a macaron on top of that. Not only was it luxurious, but each component blended together seamlessly, resulting in a moist and unified deliciousness. The Miroir Cassis had a perfect balance of sourness and sweetness, with a sophisticated flavor. I also bought some cookies, which were also delicious. I would love to go back if I have the chance, even though the long wait can be a bit of a downside.

Patisserie Petit Japonais is located a 3-5 minute walk from Shijo Station. Despite its small size, this highly rated patisserie has seating available for customers to dine in. If you arrive early, you can often find a seat without having to wait in line. They are very conscious of COVID-19 prevention measures, requiring alcohol disinfection at the entrance and on the second floor, as well as prohibiting the removal of masks except when eating. This makes it a comfortable choice for those concerned about infection prevention. We ordered the popular Cherry Chiboust and the Kimono blend tea. The Cherry Chiboust, with its crispy surface and refreshing cherry mousse sweetness, combined with the pistachio mousse, bitter Chiboust, and crunchy tart crust, was a well-balanced dessert! The original blend tea also paired well with the sweets and was delicious, so be sure to visit and try them out. Thank you for the meal!

I was out sightseeing early in the morning and wanted to take a break near my hotel, so I was looking for a café. I found a small café with a traditional townhouse entrance, just a 2-3 minute walk from Shijo down Bukkoji Street. It was a quiet Saturday afternoon at 3pm, and luckily I had the place to myself until I finished my meal. The café had only three seats, so it was a cozy spot to enjoy the atmosphere. You order cakes at the counter first, then order drinks upstairs (billed separately). They had a great selection of original blend and flavored teas, perfect for tea lovers. The teas come in a teapot inside an iron kettle, giving it a French touch. The café had French radio playing in the background. I ordered a Blood Orange Tart and a Japanese Lemon Tart, both seasonal specials. The Blood Orange Tart had slices of lightly syrup-soaked oranges with a hint of almond powder, creating a subtly sweet and flavorful tart. The Lemon Tart had a fresh lemony taste with a smooth lemon cream that packed a punch of acidity. It was the most sour lemon tart I've ever had, but it was delicious, especially when paired with the meringue on top. Despite its small size, the café had a good variety of cakes, and I would love to try their chocolate cake someday. Kyoto truly has many charming and wonderful shops that make me wish I had multiple stomachs. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Today, after getting my third dose of the COVID vaccine, I suddenly felt like visiting "Petit Japonais" again. Without even thinking about what I had last time, I found myself wanting to eat Mont Blanc @600 and Galette Bretonne @250. As I was about to pay, I noticed they had canelés and hurriedly added one to my order! Canelé @330 I was excited to be able to try canelés from Petit Japonais! I went home feeling excited. The sticker on the box warned that the canelé had to be consumed on the day of purchase to enjoy the crispy texture and flavor. So, I started with the canelé. Thanks to that, I got to enjoy it while it was still crispy on the outside! When I split it open with my hands, the inside was moist, almost like half-baked. Delicious! I really like the crispy canelé from Petit Japonais. As for the Mont Blanc, the cream and whipped cream were not too sweet and very tasty. The base seemed a bit different this time. The meringue-like crispy texture was the same, but when I split it open, I noticed a crumbly texture. Maybe it's just me being unsure since it's been a while. Well, it's delicious and to my liking, so it's not a problem. I will add my thoughts on the Galette Bretonne later! I'm glad I could post this without any vaccine side effects. I hope I don't get a fever now... [Additional note] I have added a picture of the Galette Bretonne. As for the taste... the balance is wonderful! It was delicious - not too moist, not too powdery, and just the right amount of sweetness. Some foods can be delicious but make you feel heavy, so in that sense, I think the balance was exquisite. With various flavors available, I will definitely visit again to try out different ones like hojicha.

Petit Japonais! Miroir Cassis! Cafe Americano! I went to a popular cafe in Kyoto! It's very cozy and I personally like it! When you enter, you are greeted by cakes. The Mont Blanc seems to be the most popular, but I chose Cassis. The cafe operates on a one order, one drink system. You go upstairs to order your drink and enjoy the cafe space. The cake had a strong sour taste that really woke me up! It was not too sweet and paired well with the coffee! Thank you for the meal!

When walking through the streets of Kyoto, you will come across many charming and cute shops that you can't help but peek into. From bakeries to cafes to patisseries, there are plenty of trendy shops blending into the streets of Kyoto. One such place is "Petit Japone" located in Kyoto's Shijo-Karasuma and Higashinotoin Bukkoji area. It's a small patisserie with a variety of cute cakes, pound cakes, galettes, madeleines, and financiers. The second floor serves as a cafe space, but since it was full, I opted to take some delicious baked goods to go. The prices are reasonable, which is great. Among the items I purchased were Caramel Galette, Dacquoise, Galette Bretonne, Madeleine, and Fruit Cake. The Madeleine, a shell-shaped cake, was the first pastry I ever baked. It's made with flour, melted butter, sugar, eggs, and baking powder, and its shape is inspired by pilgrims who used to carry shells as portable dishes. The Madeleine at this shop was cute and had a moist and buttery texture. The Galette Bretonne, which I enjoyed for breakfast with unsweetened soy yogurt, had a gentle sweetness. The standout item was the Fruit Cake, with a soft and moist texture and plenty of dried fruits inside. It was delicious! I wish I had bought more varieties. Next time, I'll definitely try the cakes in the cafe on the second floor. Thank you for the meal!

My partner mentioned a sweets shop in Shijo that caught their interest, so I decided to accompany them. At Puchi Japone, there were many delicious-looking cakes, and I wanted to buy a lot, but I didn't have the confidence to bring them home without ruining their shape, so I ended up just buying some baked goods and heading back. The baked goods were all quite tasty: Galette Bretonne, Caramel Galette, Madeleine, Dacquoise, and Fruit Cake. They were all delicious! My favorites were the Caramel Galette and the Galette Bretonne. I frequent this area, so if the timing is right, I'd like to try the cakes inside the shop next time. Thank you for the meal!

After the rainy season ended, it suddenly became hot, and the infection continues to spread, right (^▽^;) On this day, I received my second dose of the COVID vaccine in the category of underlying health conditions, near my regular doctor's office, so I decided to stop by this shop. (Thanks to that, I'm done safely, which is a relief^ ^) I bought some sweets in anticipation of side effects like arm pain. With the scorching summer, it's reassuring to have a car for takeout, right♪ Of course, I brought a cooler bag! I've visited this shop a few times on my way home from work, but the options are limited on weekday evenings. This time, I chose the Chocolate Caramel Sale to go with my iced coffee! The cakes here are always beautiful and delicious. I am very satisfied♡ I found a picture of the Mont Blanc I ate in winter, which I can't eat now. I apologize for posting it now m(__)m I would like to eat the delicious Mont Blanc again in autumn♪ By the way, according to their website, Petit Japone celebrated its 18th anniversary on the 11th of this month(((o(*゚▽゚*)o))) Congratulations♪ I will visit again!! Thank you for the meal♡

"Puchi Japone" is a Western-style confectionery shop located in Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto. Despite having a rating of 3.62 on Tabelog, it ranks 523rd out of approximately 21,000 restaurants in Kyoto Prefecture. In the cake category, it is ranked 21st. I visited the shop for some cake takeout after a Japanese dinner. It is conveniently located about a 3-4 minute walk from Shijo Station. The shop was compact and had limited seating due to social distancing measures. I ordered the "Minion" for 600 yen and also added the "Miroir Cassis" for a total of 1,130 yen. Both cakes were delicious, especially the speciality "Minion" with its raspberry cream and macaron topping. The "Miroir Cassis" was also fantastic, with a perfect balance of sweetness and acidity. The shop lived up to its reputation, and I look forward to visiting again in the future."

This is a popular patisserie at Tojiin Bukkoji Temple. The Minion (¥600) looks like a piece of art. However, it's a bit difficult to eat. Let's start with the macaron on top. The outer layer is crispy, while the inside is moist with a hint of liquor. It's already delicious! The tart crust is crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. It has a perfect level of sweetness and a rich buttery flavor. The raspberry confiture on top of the tart crust has a sharp acidity that adds a nice touch to the taste. The raspberry cream on top has a hint of cream cheese, creating a harmonious balance of mild sweetness and raspberry acidity. The refreshing taste of cream cheese and the smooth texture are also noticeable. It was delicious. The taste and texture had a nice contrast. Thank you for the meal!

We casually stopped by on a Sunday evening, just the two of us. It's a small shop, but there are four tables for two on the second floor, making it feel like a cozy café. It was not crowded, maybe because of the time. The Chocolate Caramel Sable was delicious, with rich chocolate cream and salted caramel from the first bite. The sablé base was crispy and tasty. Although the cakes were small, they were satisfying. We also had the Ispahan tea, which had a fruity and refreshing taste from orange, jasmine, and violet flowers. It was a soothing French tea. The Lemon Tart was a bit divisive with its strong sourness and flavor, but the cream and tart crust were undeniably delicious. It felt like a hidden gem of a cake shop. The tea was especially delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Finally got to eat~♡ The first time, the Mignon was sold out. The second time, they were unexpectedly closed. I really wanted to try this combination♪ A friend from Kyoto recommended it to me almost a year ago. It's just a short walk from Karasuma, so I kept putting it off. It's Mont Blanc season, so I wanted to come here. I visited on a holiday around 3 pm. Due to the pandemic, only one group is allowed in the store at a time. I was the only one waiting outside. When I looked at the showcase from outside, both cakes I wanted were there♪ I was nervous because if the person in front of me bought a lot, I would miss out. But luckily, I was able to buy them. When I asked to eat in, they said the seats were full. I finally made it here, so I didn't feel like getting takeout at all. After waiting outside for about 5 minutes, they called me in saying a seat was available. The second floor only has three tables for two people each. I was lucky that a seat opened up in just 5 minutes. They gave me the drink menu to choose from. Here, you pay for the cake on the first floor and for the drinks on the second floor, which was a different system. I guess it's to minimize contact. ・Mignon - 600 yen including tax The visual appearance captivated me. A tart with a macaron?! It was amazing. Oh, it's not a macaron. It looks similar but is softer and lacks the elasticity of a macaron. The tart was crispy with almond cream, and it was delicious♪ ・Mont Blanc - 600 yen including tax The chestnut cream had a strong chestnut flavor. It was thin like a thread with a light and airy texture. So delicious~♡ I couldn't really taste the brandy that was in it. I'm not a fan of alcohol, so this amount was perfect for me♪ The meringue had hazelnuts and a faint fragrance, which was also delicious♡ I was leaning towards Mignon before coming, but I ended up liking the Mont Blanc much more. If I'm ever unsure where to have tea in Karasuma, I would love to come back here. Thank you for the meal.
