When it comes to soy sauce ramen in Nakasu, Fukuoka, there is a popular long-established restaurant that is so famous that it has become the standard for soy sauce ramen in Fukuoka. The Hakata soy sauce ramen and gyoza at Ougyoza are always in high demand, with the restaurant constantly packed. While waiting for the soy sauce ramen, regular customers enjoy beer and gyoza. However, for those in the know, the limited-time summer special cold noodles are incredibly delicious. Even people who don't usually go to Ougyoza will visit just to try these noodles, such is their cult following. On this particular day, amidst the sweltering heat and tropical night, the cold noodles were calling my name. Luckily, I was able to get in without waiting in line, and they hadn't sold out of the cold noodles yet. The refreshing and rich chicken broth-based cold noodle soup was so delicious that I couldn't stop myself from drinking it all up with a spoon. The noodles were chewy and smooth, with a fantastic texture. The toppings included bean sprouts, chashu, shredded egg, ham, and shredded cabbage, which tasted amazing when slightly soaked in the soup. Adding mustard to the soup halfway through and drinking up every last drop of the soup was so satisfying on a hot day. The cold noodle soup paired with beer is a great combination. Of course, the green onion gyoza is also exceptional, with a crispy exterior and a chewy, flavorful filling. Beware, as it's easy to lose track and end up ordering endless beer and gyoza. The hidden gem of the cold noodles tends to sell out quickly, so it's best to go early. Although the price has gone up to 920 yen, it's worth it, and you'll likely find yourself craving it again this season.
