A shop located about 2-3 minutes walk from Kichijoji Station, on the semi-basement 1st floor of the Nakagai Building. Upon entering, the interior is moderately spacious with counter seats and table seats. As the name suggests, they specialize in yakitori, but they also have other menu items. The shop has a chain store-like feel. Their selling point seems to be "No appetizers ❤". Despite being close to the station, there are few customers on weekdays, and the staff seem bored. I personally enjoy appetizers because it's exciting to receive items I didn't order! The yakitori ranges from 180 yen per skewer, but the tax-included price makes it around 198 yen per skewer. In total, we ordered 7 skewers for 1386 yen, quail eggs marinated in garlic soy sauce for 429 yen, and drinks for 1518 yen, resulting in a total of 3333 yen (tax included). The taste of the skewers was average compared to other places. If only the portion size was a bit bigger... The quail eggs were an interesting menu item with about 6 eggs in soy sauce-based marinade with a hint of garlic, served cold and good as a snack. The taste lacked depth. Some points about the shop: they have a counter for solo customers, it's conveniently located near the station, prices are on the higher side, taste is average, and I probably won't be returning. (╬▔皿▔)╯Sigh... Oh well, haha.

I visited alone and was guided to a counter seat, so I was able to relax and enjoy my drink. It took quite a bit of time for the first food to arrive, but the speed of service after that was fine, and the taste was delicious, so overall it was a positive experience. Eating Negi-yaki and ham cutlet while drinking Hoppy wasn't bad either. It was a good day.

After shopping in Kichijoji, I stopped by here with my friends! It was quite crowded and lively. I was a little concerned that there were no partitions. I always order the Hagu-tsuki gyoza from Chikuzenya because it's delicious! We also got edamame and a large serving of fried potatoes as snacks. The large serving of potatoes is the best! They're the most delicious when freshly fried. The motsunabe (offal hot pot) is also quite tasty. I thought there was a bit too little offal, but overall, the cost performance is good!

For my second choice, I was still a bit hungry, so I ordered pork liver sashimi, simmered tripe, harami sashimi, and... what was it again? I also had beer and a 3000 yen juice. It was reasonably priced and delicious! The restaurant had a lot of seating and a lively atmosphere. The staff were also very friendly, so I think they deserve a higher rating. I especially loved the seasoning on the liver sashimi - I wanted to mix it into my rice!

A chain restaurant that specializes in grilled pork skewers. Until 7 pm, highballs and lemon sours are half price, and there is no seating fee or appetizer charge, which is great. This makes it easy to enjoy a casual drink. The pork skewers range from 80 yen each. The lemon sour is originally 380 yen. The heart and intestines are each 80 yen, and the tongue is 150 yen. These prices are excluding tax. The lemon sour has a strong flavor, with a good balance of sweetness and acidity. The skewers are large in size, especially the ones priced at 80 yen, which are surprisingly big. They are grilled evenly and seasoned just right with salt. The heart is tender and has a gentle elasticity. The intestines are firm with a crispy exterior. They are a bit tough to chew, but that adds to the enjoyment. And the tongue has a satisfying thickness and texture. Overall, it's a convenient and enjoyable chain restaurant.

A few months ago, a izakaya restaurant opened near Kichijoji Station. It seems like a chain restaurant. My husband and I met at the station and went there together. The interior was clean and they had round chairs. My husband had a draft beer, and I had green tea for a toast. There were no appetizers, they brought what we ordered. We ordered onion slices for 280 yen, a few skewers, and a small simmered dish for 280 yen. The onion slices had ponzu sauce with a raw egg yolk on top. It might be better without the egg yolk for a lighter taste. The skewers included two skewers of grilled pork heart for 80 yen, one skewer of chicken thigh for 120 yen, two skewers of chicken and green onion for 120 yen, and one skewer of chicken tail for 120 yen. My husband and I shared these. It was okay. The simmered dish was light in flavor. We also ordered additional items like fried leek and egg for 380 yen, two skewers of pork cutlet for 150 yen, and fried squid legs for 380 yen. The squid legs were a bit overcooked. My husband loves fried squid legs. He also mentioned that he had fried potatoes, and we added grilled gyoza with wings for 380 yen. The gyoza was slightly burnt. We enjoyed the pork cutlet skewers with sauce and mustard. For the finishing touch, we had sauce yakisoba for 480 yen. It had a lot of mayo on top. It was generous in portion with cabbage, onions, and pork. My husband seemed to really like it. He liked the casual feel of the place. We spent 5000 yen for the two of us, and got quite a bit of change back. It was a restaurant that my husband really enjoyed.

On March 21, 2019 (Thursday), I had dinner with my partner. We visited a place in Kichijoji that used to be a tonkatsu restaurant called "Fuji" in the past. I used to frequent this tonkatsu restaurant the most. I believe it was run by Mari Miyagi's sisters or cousins, with the main branch located in Nakano. I used to enjoy the mixed fry set meal on Sunday nights about 30 years ago. However, it had disappeared over time. I tried to find the other branch in Nakano or elsewhere, but I couldn't locate it. The place had turned into a new restaurant in the semi-basement floor of the Chugai Building, previously a game center, I think (my memory is fuzzy). I decided to give it a try. It was a cheap izakaya specializing in yakitori, like a chain restaurant. I ordered a draft beer, two skewers each of heart and liver in a delicious sauce (80 yen each), and two skewers of pork belly in a secret miso sauce (150 yen each). Additionally, I ordered homemade potato salad from the salad menu (380 yen) and black pork mince cutlet from the fried food menu (280 yen). Unfortunately, the food was not tasty at all. It was so disappointing that I wanted to go to another restaurant immediately. I had another glass of draft beer, and the total bill came to 2970 yen. Looking at their website now, I see that the restaurant is managed by Customers Delight Co., Ltd. I need to remember that (laughs).

The mackerel and grilled pork were delicious, but the meat sashimi platter was disappointing at a restaurant that advertises itself as specializing in meat sashimi.

I was worried because the restaurant had been closed due to the pandemic, but I'm glad they have resumed Happy Hour. Orders are now taken through the smartphone due to cost-cutting measures, which is a welcome change from before when it was hard to communicate with the kitchen from the counter seats. However, the drink service is extremely slow now, with even a simple Highball or Lemon Sour taking almost 10 minutes, and over 15 minutes for sake. The restaurant was only half full in the evening, so be prepared for longer wait times during peak hours.

I felt like eating yakitori, so I visited around 3 PM by myself. It was my first time there. Well, I guess the taste was average. The interior of the restaurant is bright and has a good atmosphere. The goldfish sour drink had chili peppers in it, so it was a bit spicy.

In any case, the cost performance is excellent. The dishes are also generous in portion size. Moreover, the restaurant opens early, so you can start early, enjoy eating and drinking to your heart's content, and still not be too affected for work the next day.笑
