Imahan is a super famous restaurant. I haven't eaten at the main store, but I've tried their snacks, bento boxes, and souvenirs under the Imahan brand. Once a brand becomes well-known, it sells itself without much effort. It's quite difficult to replicate the taste of the restaurant in a bento box. It's challenging, but trying to deliver the deliciousness of the meat is quite tough. The box looks impressive, clearly high-end. When you open it, there's a sukiyaki bento inside! The green onions are fresh! The meat is undeniably delicious, but given the price, it didn't quite meet the level of an Imahan bento. It's a reasonable option for a bento, but it's difficult to capture the Imahan brand in a bento box. A lunch that made me realize the difficulty of bento boxes. Thank you for the meal.

After finishing the morning meeting, I had a pre-ordered bento box. This time it was the "Tsuzumi" bento box for 1,296 yen. When I opened the lid, I was surprised. The bento box served at the training session on Sunday was delicious. It cost 2000 yen and came with sukiyaki sauce on the side. The shrimp was a bit tricky to eat, so I just ate it whole, head and all! It was so delicious!

There are many bento options, but when thinking about a bento with meat, Imahan comes to mind first. Imahan is known for its sukiyaki, which is considered a high-end option, but surprisingly, their bento is quite affordable. Prices start at 1,000 yen, which is great for everyday use. Even though it's 1,000 yen, when you think of Imahan, you think of sukiyaki, so you might want to go for a slightly better option. The gold sukiyaki and silver sukiyaki are also intriguing, but on this day, I went for the most affordable one. Even so, there is a good amount of meat and it comes with a half-cooked egg. The meat is delicious, after all.

Last year, I had the opportunity to try the bento from Ningyocho Imahan, and this year I was fortunate enough to have the chance to eat it again. Imahan in Ningyocho is a branch that originated from the original Imahan in Asakusa. The most famous branch is probably Ningyocho Imahan. The original Imahan was opened in 1952 as "Asakusa Imahan Nihonbashi Branch," and then split into Asakusa Imahan and Ningyocho Imahan in 1956. This time, I ordered the "Matsuri Hayashi" bento (a limited-time product for July and August) for 2,500 yen including tax from the delivery-only shop Ningyocho Imahan Omotenashi Bento. The bento is a three-tiered box tied with a gold string, which is quite eye-catching. It comes with soup and a bottle of tea. The main highlight of this bento is the black wagyu sukiyaki, which is Imahan's specialty. The sukiyaki, even when cold, melts in your mouth and is undeniably delicious. The side dishes include grilled black cod with miso and asparagus wrapped in chicken with egg yolk tempura. The flavors are gentle and not like typical cold bento dishes. The chicken-wrapped asparagus with egg yolk tempura is a particularly intricate dish with a delicious blend of flavors. The rice dish features beef thigh steak on white dashi rice, topped with rolled omelet, edamame, and konbu simmered in soy sauce. The steak is tender and delicious, and when all the ingredients are eaten together, they create an exquisite flavor. The soup is also rich with ingredients like edamame, turnip, shimeji mushrooms, and crab meat. In the competitive world of high-end bento boxes, this bento from Ningyocho Imahan stands out in terms of both quality and cost-effectiveness. It may not be suitable for everyday lunches due to the price, but it is perfect for official lunch meetings. Eating a delicious bento like this can bring a sense of happiness. Just like how a salesperson once treated me to a bento from "Nadaman," which led to a significant purchase, high-end bentos have the potential to create such memorable experiences. Luxurious Imahan bento box from Ningyocho. I had it for lunch at a certain gathering. As expected from Imahan, the quality of the bento was surprisingly high. It was my first time having such a high-quality bento. The bento included new ginger rice, moroheiya and okra with sesame dressing, silver Kyoto-style grilled fish, small eggplant with yellow seasoning, deep-fried tofu with koya tofu, simmered duck meatballs, Oku-Kuji egg, and Imahan's proud black wagyu sukiyaki. The variety of dishes was amazing. The bento box alone must have been quite expensive. The portion size of each dish was small, so even women can finish it, and the high quality of the food makes it a satisfying bento. After having it, I felt like going to the store to have sukiyaki again. Thank you for the meal.

In the morning, there was a live operation of Zygomatic Implants by Dr. Ando, and for lunch, we were served a Sukiyaki bento box. Surprisingly, it was warm and delicious, thanks to advancements in technology. Although it was more expensive than a regular cold bento box, it was definitely worth the price. It reminded me of a TV commercial in Nagoya that says, "It's expensive but tastes great," and that's exactly how I would describe the deliciousness of the meal.

The origin of Ningyocho Imahan dates back to the establishment of Asakusa Imahan Nihonbashi branch in 1952, which split into Asakusa Imahan and Ningyocho Imahan in 1956. I ordered the "Shoho" bento box from this store's website, which cost 2,500 yen including tax. The bento box, which resembled a three-tiered jubako box tied with a gold string, came with clear soup and tea. The first tier contained Imahan's famous black wagyu sukiyaki, which was delicious and flavorful. The second tier had grilled duck, onsen tamago, fried taro sprouts with quail egg, herring roe and scallop matsumae-zuke, red and white namasu, and strawberry dessert with salted plum. The Summer Beauty bento box had a well-balanced selection of simmered dishes, sesame-dressed vegetables, and grilled fish, offering a variety that doesn't feel monotonous. The rice dishes, such as black wagyu inarizushi and pork miso grilled rice, were satisfying without being overwhelming. The colors were vibrant, and the flavors were delicious, making it a high-quality bento box. Although the price is on the higher side, orders over ¥7,560 can be delivered within Tokyo's 23 wards without additional shipping costs (some areas in Saitama, Chiba, and Kanagawa are also eligible). This is convenient compared to other places that require orders in large quantities for delivery. Credit card payment is also accepted, adding to the convenience. Overall, I highly recommend it.
