びびちゃ
About a month ago during lunch break, I and my close friend Miko were planning to secretly visit his workplace in Kinshicho. Despite the significant age gap between us, Miko and I are very close, and she even calls him by a cute nickname. Since we were going to Kinshicho anyway, we decided to also visit a restaurant near the neighboring station where I had been wanting to go for a while. The day of our operation, I informed Miko that we would have lunch in Ueno and take the same train to get there. We said our goodbyes at the platform of the Keihin-Tohoku Line. It felt like we were on a secret mission as we were going to follow him discreetly. I continued to Kameido Station to meet up with Miko. We arrived at 10:47 and decided to grab a bite to eat first. When we got close to the restaurant, we saw a long line of about 10 people waiting. It was "Kameido Gyoza Main Store," located just a minute's walk from Kameido Station. I had been wanting to visit this place for a while, but I never thought of going because I had the impression that Kameido was far away. However, I realized that Kameido was actually right next to Kinshicho, where he worked. We waited in line for a few minutes, and the line kept getting longer behind us. Perhaps that's why the restaurant opened its doors earlier than the scheduled 11 o'clock opening time to let customers in. Miko and I were seated at the counter and immediately asked for drinks. I ordered a large bottle of beer without hesitation, while Miko opted for a cola. And so, the gyoza feast began. At Kameido Main Store, the only item on the menu is gyoza. Even if you don't order, two plates of gyoza are served per person. Each plate contains five gyoza, so we were expected to eat 10 each. The two of us, hungry like hyenas, wondered how many plates we could devour. The delicious aroma filled the restaurant, and we joked about being able to eat 10 plates. The gyoza arrived promptly with a beautiful crispy sear. The small dish for the dipping sauce came with plenty of mustard, and I opted for soy sauce only. Miko chose a different sauce. We each took a bite of the gyoza with just soy sauce. They were not as hot as expected, making them easy to eat at a comfortable temperature. The skin was crispy, and the garlic-free filling was juicy and generously packed. After finishing the first plate, we immediately moved on to the second. However, the second plate was scorching hot... We managed to finish the second plate, and the staff offered us a third one. Of course, we accepted and ordered additional gyoza. I happily sipped my beer, while Miko drank her cola. With the third plate, a serving of boiled bean sprouts was also brought to us. It acted as a palate cleanser after the gyoza. As we finished the third plate and were offered a fourth, we both ordered another round. Miko's eating speed suddenly slowed down, and I felt a pang of fullness. We managed to finish the fourth plate, but the combination of the large bottle of beer and Miko's two colas seemed to have been our downfall. Well, we were not in a food challenge, so it was fine to stop at this point. We spent about 20 minutes there, and although there was a line, the turnover seemed quick. Now, we were ready to head to Kinshicho and surprise him.
