I visited the second Tokyo store of the multi-store chain "Kobe Beef Dia" operated by the Kansai-based Yoshijyo Group. The back seats are recommended here. The atmosphere is enhanced by the shields proving the authenticity of Kobe beef displayed on the walls. Kobe Beef Dia is known for its popular "Steak Ju" dish, which is designed to be Instagram-worthy. Here is what I ordered today at Kobe Beef Dia in Nihonbashi: - Kobe beef meat sashimi - Salad with black sesame dressing and yuzu mayonnaise - Kobe beef steak & sukiyaki rice bowl (made with a rare and special cut) - Kobe beef steak sushi (lean cut, medium fatty, fatty) (*Note: The meat sushi had a disappointing lack of meat sticking to the rice. The wasabi was a blend of minced and grated.) The "Steak & Sukiyaki Rice Bowl" had a rich and rounded sauce that was universally appealing, making it suitable for bento boxes and appealing to those who enjoy classic yakiniku flavors. I visited the "Kobe Beef Daia Nihonbashi Muromachi Store" in Nihonbashi the other day. It is a luxurious course where you can enjoy Kobe beef sukiyaki and steak, offered by the Yoshikoyoshi Group, which handles the most Kobe beef in Japan. The meal started with a refreshing salad with yuzu flavor, followed by a comparison of rare red meat cuts and a beef stew that was simmered until tender. The main dish was a steak & sukiyaki set with a cute egg on top. Both the sukiyaki and steak were tender with just the right amount of sweet fat and the sweet sauce was exquisite and delicious. It is a shop where you can enjoy various cuts of Kobe beef because they buy a whole cow. Highly recommended for those who want to easily enjoy Kobe beef or those who want to taste sukiyaki & steak. At the building on the first floor where the Mitsui Garden Hotel is located at the intersection of Machiya 3-chome, the entrance to the restaurant faces the side street rather than the main road. Inside, the tables are generously spaced for a relaxed atmosphere. The lunch menu ranges from a hearty Kobe beef bowl starting at ¥1,500 to a Kobe beef tasting set at ¥9,000. A Kobe beef steak (lean cut) and sukiyaki set with salad and soup is available for ¥1,900. The steak is tender and satisfying, with options for a higher quality cut priced at ¥2,600 or ¥3,000. It would be nice to have a menu option with a larger portion of steak. The sukiyaki, however, was lightly seasoned and a bit too watery for my taste. The salad is fresh and colorful, with a refreshing black sesame dressing. Alcoholic beverages include the aromatic Tora Silk Quell from Yokohama Spring Valley for ¥650 each. Wine by the glass is priced at ¥600, while bottles range from ¥2,200. There is also a variety of beer, highballs, sours, shochu, and soft drinks like cola, oolong tea, and Calpis soda. The service was friendly and welcoming. It would be even better if the prices were more affordable. Prices do not include tax.

I went for a little luxurious lunch. Oh, Kobe beef is truly amazing. Even though it's on the cheaper side, it still costs around 3,000 yen (laughs). I asked the staff for their recommended combination of steak and sukiyaki-like dish. It came with salad and soup. The marbling of the meat is really good. It's not greasy at all, has a sweetness to it, and you can really taste the beef! It feels like pure happiness! I wish I could eat more of it until I'm full! It was just a lunch portion, so I held back a bit, but maybe having a larger portion of rice would have balanced well with the meat. I would like to go again on a different occasion, maybe for a celebration!

The lean steak priced at 2,500 yen was reduced to 1,500 yen. It was more like thinly sliced tataki than steak. The lightly seared, fragrant, tender meat was served with wasabi soy sauce. The sukiyaki was also delicious and tender, but it was a shame that only the broken egg yolk remained.

First of all, the salad didn't even come. The main dish, of course, didn't come either. Despite the empty seats, the poor operation of this place is fatal. The free service of meat skewers and salad is at a very basic level. The sesame dressing is tasty. And then, with a bad feeling, a brown, meat-heavy dish arrived that looked nothing like the menu photo. It had only 8 thin slices of red meat, when the photo showed 10 slices. How many grams was it? Any meat would be tender if it was sliced this thin (laughs). The sukiyaki was also very ordinary. Even though I ordered a large portion of rice, it was the smallest amount I've ever seen in my life. I wonder what a regular portion would look like. And all of this cost 2800 yen. There was no satisfaction in eating the meat, and I've encountered a restaurant with such poor value for money for the first time in a long time. While the Kobe beef sign may attract customers, with this quality, I doubt there will be any repeat customers. Will it even last a year?

I visited a restaurant that is known for handling the best "Kobe beef" in the world! I tried the cute steak bowl with a slightly sloppy nori face egg. I ordered the Kobe beef steak & sukiyaki bowl, premium lean meat with 2 rows (¥3,300)! The steak bowl came with salad and soup as well. The dressing for the salad was two types: "black sesame" and "yuzu mayonnaise"! It is recommended to first taste the sweetness of the meat as it is, and then eat it with wasabi. Eating it with wasabi enhances the sweetness of the meat even more! There were many awards displayed inside the restaurant, it was amazing! I was given the one with the drawing of a cow on the left side in the picture, but it was really heavy!

I visited on a regular night. This is the first Tokyo location for the Kansai-based Kichijouji Group, and the interior is beautiful. They source their Kobe beef from the top-ranking Nakaniishi Ranch. I tried the Kobe beef steak first without any seasoning to enjoy the natural flavor. Even though it was thinly sliced, you could taste the richness and sweetness of the meat. Next, I tried it with wasabi soy sauce, which was delicious. It was so good that I could probably eat two servings. They have some high-priced menu items, with some costing over 70,000 yen, so this is a place to consider when you really want to indulge in Kobe beef. I'm also curious about their beef sashimi and beef sushi!

Store Information - Genre on Tabelog: Steak, Teppanyaki, Beef dishes - A new store opened on August 8, 2022 - Second store in Tokyo for the 'Kissho Kichi Group', which operates multiple stores specializing in Kobe beef in Osaka (the first store opened in Shibadaimon on July 28) - Business hours: 11:00-15:00 / 17:00-22:00 (L.O. 21:00) - The previous tenant was a restaurant called 'Poundya' that served hamburgers and steaks, with about 22 seats 3. I feel like the concept of the store is unclear. The owner seems to have a problem. They claim that the menu consists of A5 Kobe beef bought in one piece, so there isn't much variety. But the lack of options leaves customers feeling unsatisfied. The focus is too much on the product without considering the customer's perspective. If they want to stick to this product-only concept, they should locate the restaurant in Ginza, not near Mitsukoshi. They promote A5 beef, but the quality is not as good as they claim. Furthermore, the high prices do not match the level of service, which is comparable to that of a supermarket. It's a shame because the restaurant used to be good. I will not go back again.
