Hello, it's the hangover meal. Tokyo Station is surprisingly a casual spot for lunch, right? There seem to be plenty of places to eat, so I decided to check it out. After wandering a bit, I found myself in the underground dining area on the Yaesu side. That's where I noticed "Unagi 4th Generation Kikukawa". I've heard of it before, it's quite popular, isn't it? I couldn't eat eel the other day, so I decided to satisfy that craving here! I thought it might be crowded during lunchtime, but I was able to get in after about 10 minutes. Lucky me, or maybe Tokyo Station is mainly for travelers, so there's no lunch rush. Who knows.

Boom! Wow, doesn't it look delicious? A whole eel, I had an idea of what to expect, but seeing it in person, it's quite impressive. The skin is crispy and charred, a Kansai-style preparation. It's cooked quickly, so the skin is crispy and fragrant. Taking a bite, it's tasty. The skin is crispy and really fragrant. The texture is not too soft, more like a crispy fluffiness. Yeah, not bad at all. The skin is crispy, but the meat is tender and the bones are hardly noticeable. I was a bit worried about the Kansai style, but it's delicious. It's good. Or rather, I found the strength of a whole eel. Because it's a whole eel, the plate is long, so there's plenty of rice, very voluminous! This is really good. With other eel dishes like Unaju, you might feel like you need more rice! But with a whole eel, that worry is completely gone. On the left, there's sauce, powdered sansho pepper, and whole sansho pepper. They even grind the whole sansho pepper at the table! The aroma is different from the powdered sansho pepper. It's great to have it on the table! The liver dish is extra, but it comes with a generous portion at this price. Oh, eel is delicious! The quantity is also satisfying.

The happiness of being able to eat what you want when you want it is truly special! I'm glad my craving for eel has been satisfied. A whole eel has a strong visual impact, it's delicious, it's quick to serve because it's Kansai-style, and there's plenty of rice because it's a whole eel. There are many good points to it. Now I understand why this type of eel can be found in many places. The joy of being able to casually enjoy eel like this is wonderful!
