I visited this restaurant that I had been curious about since it opened. When I saw a whole eel being served, I suspected it might be a local grilled eel restaurant, and my research confirmed that it was indeed a local grilled eel restaurant. I decided to visit without waiting because it was around 3 p.m. on a holiday, and I am known for being good at calculations. I ordered the Grilled Eel Set for 5180 yen. I don't like sauce on my rice, so I ordered a separate set with rice and grilled eel. Although I thought about getting Hitsumabushi, it was my first time, so I chose the Grilled Eel. It took about 20 minutes for the order to be ready, and the Grilled Eel Set arrived. It was a very large and delicious-looking grilled eel. When I took a bite, I thought, "Wow, this is delicious." The outside was crispy, and the inside was tender. The grilled eel had a great texture while still retaining the flavor of the fish. I realized that local grilled eel is indeed delicious. Although I also enjoy Tokyo-style steamed eel, as someone from western Japan, I have been eating grilled eel cooked on an iron skewer since I was a child, so being able to eat this in Tokyo is truly appreciated. I thought it was proper to eat it with rice, so I pushed aside thoughts of carbohydrate restrictions and enjoyed the rice and grilled eel. The service was also excellent. The employees seemed to take pride in their work. This pride was evident in both the food and the service. As I left the restaurant, I thought about trying Hitsumabushi next time.

Located at the Yaesu North Exit underground floor of Tokyo Station, in a corner of Kurobei Yokocho, this restaurant is a branch of a long-established eel wholesaler based in Nagoya. My family made a reservation for Sunday night and we visited. The highlight here is the whole eel dish using a large-sized eel, and we ordered the "Hitotsu Hitsu Mabushi" (5,380 yen). It came with liver soup, seasoned vegetables, pickles and condiments, and dashi broth. The eel was quite large, and using a big one helps prevent the flesh from shrinking too much even with high heat. The skin was crispy and very fragrant, with a concentrated umami flavor. We also ordered the "shirayaki" separately, which had the same crispy skin but a softer texture in the flesh. It may not be everyone's preference as it's not the Kanto style, but it was one of my favorite eel dishes I've ever had. I definitely want to come back again.

It felt like experiencing eel in a new way at this restaurant in Nagoya for the first time! The crispy grilled eel skin seemed like a separate entity from the flesh, lacking unity. The eel omelette was delicious. The eel liver was served differently, not on skewers but in portions equivalent to 5 eels. I ordered 2 portions, but they looked a bit lonely in a small dish. The restaurant's specialty, the eel dish served in a ceramic container, was a bit difficult to eat.

The first time, I eat it normally. The next time, I eat it with condiments. The next time, I eat it with broth. Finally, eat it your favorite way. They are all delicious, but eating it normally is the most delicious (^^) Eel has the effect of recovering from fatigue, and it is good for health and beauty, so I'm glad I could eat it! A bowl of hitsumabushi. It's satisfying and delicious, but there is quite a long wait inside. Some people even left before being served. The eel is of course delicious, but considering its location in Tokyo Station, they should do something to improve the service to avoid the risk of missing the bullet train.

That's where I noticed "Unagi 4th Generation Kikukawa". I've heard of it before, it's quite popular, isn't it? I couldn't eat eel the other day, so I decided to satisfy that craving here! I thought it might be crowded during lunchtime, but I was able to get in after about 10 minutes. Lucky me, or maybe Tokyo Station is mainly for travelers, so there's no lunch rush. Who knows. - Recommended Menu - Kabayaki One Eel Set 5180 yen - One Eel Hitsu Mabushi 5380 yen - Shioyaki One Eel Set 5180 yen - Kabayaki One Eel Set 5180 yen I chose the Kabayaki One Eel Set! - Kabayaki One Eel Set Now, with my long-awaited eel in mind, I added a highball and waited while it cooked. - Kabayaki One Eel Set (5180 yen) Boom! Wow, doesn't it look delicious? A whole eel, I had an idea of what to expect, but seeing it in person, it's quite impressive. The skin is crispy and charred, a Kansai-style preparation. [Dinner Visit] Great for a meal that can be finished in about an hour. You can go alone or with 2-4 people. Suitable for families, work meetings, or casual dates. The taste and service are consistently good. Cost performance: 3.5, Taste: 3.8, Service: 3.5, Interior: 3.5. I have visited many times. The prices are a bit high, but the food is delicious. They specialize in eel dishes, and I usually order the grilled eel, but on this day, my friend didn't know how to eat Hitsumabushi, so we ordered that as well. The service is always polite, and they inform you if there will be a delay, which I appreciate. The location inside Tokyo Station is very convenient.

First day of the Obon holiday. Had lunch with my family at Tokyo Station. We ordered one grilled eel, one white-grilled eel, and an eel bowl. It was quite expensive but very delicious. We had made a reservation well in advance, so we had a private room, but it was already fully booked and crowded. It took about 20 minutes from ordering to start grilling, so it was a bit rushed until the food arrived. It took about an hour in total.

I visited the restaurant on a regular night. Despite making a reservation right before the 21:30 L.O. cutoff, they kindly accepted it, for which I am grateful. Thank you very much. I ordered the Umaki and the recommended Hitsumabushi. It was my family's first time trying Kansai-style eel, and they really enjoyed it. The impact of a whole eel was impressive, and it was crispier than other places we've tried before. It was fragrant and delicious! The side dishes, such as edamame and okra, were also delicious and perfect for summer. I will definitely visit again!

We made a reservation a week in advance for three people on the first Sunday of summer vacation. We arrived earlier than our reservation time, but the place was still packed with customers, so we couldn't enter early! The restaurant was very busy, with most customers appearing to have reservations. The eel is cooked in the Kansai style, without steaming, but rather grilled. The crispy texture and fragrant aroma were delightful. It takes about 20 minutes from ordering to being served, so we enjoyed some beer, grilled eel liver, and pickles while waiting. We ordered the grilled eel in a tiered box and the eel over rice bowl. For the rice bowl, you can ask for extra broth and condiments. The wasabi was surprisingly delicious, and they offered two types of Japanese pepper - powdered and freshly ground. It was a wonderful experience to enjoy eel prepared in a nostalgic and satisfying way, different from the usual steamed and grilled style found in most Tokyo restaurants. I visited the restaurant around 1:30 PM on Friday. I ordered the Unagi (eel) set meal. The eel was served in a long and narrow dish, looking very impressive. I was worried that it might get crushed with a spoon, so I carefully picked it up with chopsticks. The skin was crispy and the flesh was tender. There were powdered and whole Sichuan peppers on the table. I enjoyed alternating between the citrusy aroma of the whole Sichuan pepper and the flavorful powdered Sichuan pepper while eating. The sauce was not overpowering and I enjoyed every bite until the end. On a side note, I found it cool that the mill for the whole Sichuan pepper was from Peugeot.

My wife and mother-in-law came to visit. It's embarrassing to admit, but this is my first time at such a proper eel restaurant. I was torn between the eel bowl and the extra-large eel set, but I took your advice and went with the extra-large. The description was no exaggeration - it was truly huge, with a crispy outer layer and a fluffy inside. If I wasn't with my mother-in-law, I might have ordered the extra-large with extra sauce and devoured it all.

I had dried eel for the first time in Kikugawa. The crispy texture of the eel was a new experience for me. It was so delicious that I forgot to take a picture, and it went really well with alcohol! From appetizers to unagi-don, and on a separate day I tried hitsumabushi, I was completely satisfied with everything. The eel, grilled to a crispy and fragrant perfection, became addictive. The liver wasabi and grilled liver are limited in quantity, so be sure to visit early or make a reservation in advance if you want to try them!

Yes, I went. This is another fluffy eel dish, typical of the Kanto region. However, the firmness of the skin and the crispy texture were really delicious. I realized that the taste of eel is mostly determined by the sauce and grilling method. With my unsophisticated palate, I might not even notice if the meat isn't actually eel. The atmosphere was calm for an underground station, and enjoying a single eel dish felt somewhat unique. Not bad! I think I'll come back again.

On a Sunday afternoon, it was a somewhat awkward time after lunch but too early for dinner, so the restaurant was relatively empty and we were seated right away. We were guided to a table at the back near the entrance. I ordered the "Hitsumabushi" with one eel for 5380 yen (tax included). It's a version of their famous dish with eel cut into short strips. The server explained that we could eat it as it is, then add condiments, pour the broth, and finally eat it as we liked. I tried it all ways but ended up enjoying it with the condiments, so I got an extra set halfway through and finished it all. The eel skin was crispy and the meat was not too moist, different from the steamed eel I'm used to. The presentation with the eel placed whole in a long narrow dish was quite impressive. I had the course meal. Every dish was delicious, and the eel rice bowl was soft and the sauce was amazing. The grilled fish came with wasabi, salt, and dipping sauce. The sashimi was also delicious, and I ended up drinking too much beer. I want to come back again!

However, I regretted not having it cut because it was difficult to do so with chopsticks. My friend ordered the grilled eel, which was soft and delicious.
