On the way back, I peeked into the FUKUSHIMAYA supermarket across the street and saw that Satsuma herb chicken was being sold for 158 yen per 100g. Whether this is cheap or expensive, I'm not sure.

The rice is Koshihikari and cooked just right, very delicious. The miso soup is full of enoki mushrooms and also lightly seasoned. Since I was dining alone, there was no conversation, just silently finished the meal. Thank you for the food. It seems you can also drink alcohol at night, but since there are no walls, it might not be suitable for a date as it's fully visible from the aisle. I don't know though.

Despite the current situation, there were a few customers even after 7 pm, with a total of 3 groups at the counter and 3 groups at the table. It's a welcoming place for solo diners. I enjoyed some beer with bonito sashimi, water eggplant with shirasu ponzu, and then tried various types of sake while enjoying mackerel sashimi, firefly squid, Fukushimaya's famous horse mackerel fry, and stingray fin. I was tempted by the egg over rice on the menu but was already full, so I'll have to try it next time. The young chef and the friendly staff created a warm and pleasant dining experience. Despite the lower than expected number of customers due to the pandemic, they remain positive and determined. I look forward to trying their lunch menu if time allows. There is also a Fukushima-ya store across the restaurant. I visited for lunch today. The fried chicken set was sold out, so I ordered the "Yakiniku Set for 1000 yen" with Oono beef. The portion of meat was generous and the flavor was rich, making the rice very enjoyable. The set also came with a hearty miso soup and delicious pickles. It's a place where even women can feel comfortable dining alone.

I went there for the second time and the fried chicken is delicious! Even though I eat a lot, the large size is not enough for me, but it's just the right amount for the refined salarymen around here, right?
